As soon as Silentpaw walks to the Gathering, he notices two things. One, ShadowClan seems to be the last Clan to arrive. Two, Firepaw. He instantly stiffens, expression hardening.
Avoid her gaze. At. All. Costs. Never even glance in her direction, YOU HEAR ME?!
Silentpaw takes his place as far as he could from the ThunderClan apprentice, this time actually attempting to sit amongst other ShadowClanners in an attempt to blend it. But that may not have worked, since in a heartbeat, someone is padding up to me and he dreads who it could be. And sure enough, it's Firepaw. The tabby tortoiseshell avoids her gaze, staring up at the leaders instead. Firepaw, seemingly noticing his lack of attention, speaks up first.
"Heya, Bumblebee." she says softly, and Silentpaw could swear he could feel it again. Back when they were stupid and didn't care about loyalty. And that stupid nickname... It doesn't help the weight pressing down on his chest. Taking a deep breath, he completely ignores her. He can see her frown in his peripheral vision. And frankly, he doesn't care. "I know you probably hate me. But... I just... Wanna talk with you, y'know? I miss us. I miss when we could talk to each other without giving each other dirty looks." WAS SHE SERIOUS??!! MISSED THEM??? Silentpaw instantly scowls and whips his head around to stare at her, almost flinching at the she-cat's scarred form.
She's... Gotten a lot more scars than the last time I've seen her.
"You?" He grits out, eyes narrowed. "Miss us? Are you deranged, Firepaw? You know how stupid you sound right now?" Firepaw opens her mouth to speak, but Silentpaw instantly cuts her off with a harsh slam of his paw.
"NO! Don't you dare say anything! You don't deserve a chance. Not anymore," his voice began to shake, for reasons he didn't know. Gosh, why was he so pathetic?? "You know how much that hurt? Do you understand how scared I was of hurting you? And here you are, trying to talk to me like we haven't been ignoring each other for moons. It's funny how you still think we're on good terms. I don't want to hear it, Firepaw, whatever you want to say, SAVE IT." He then promptly turned away from her, shutting his eyes in an attempt to tune out everything else that may come out of her mouth. He was exhausted. Not only because of Firepaw, but because that had just been the most he'd spoken his entire life. Now he needed a dozen moons worth of sleep.

... What?
Firepaw dropped her gaze when Silentpaw started rambling, shuffling her paws nervously. Of course. What could she have expected? Classic Silentpaw.
"... I'm sorry Bumblebee. I-" she paused, staring at Silentpaw, who obviously wasn't listening to her. She could feel his frustration seeping out of his fur, and she couldn't help but frown at that. She slowly inched away from the ShadowClan apprentice, and once she made sure he didn't try to stop her from leaving, she turned her back and made her way back to where she'd been sitting. Back with the rest of ThunderClan, Firepaw still shot some sad glances at Silentpaw, who looked more deflated than ever.

Yeesh, Grandmother was pissed. Birdecho trotted alongside her clan, having to jog rather fast to keep up with the hoard of cats over twice her size. Curse her small genetics!! Her father was one of the biggest cats in the clan! Why was she so damn small! Just add it to the list of bad things her parents gave her, right under "bad lungs" and "crippling attachment issues".
Grandmother stormed to the Sea Stones, and Birdecho absently wove through the crowd, humming to herself as she looked for the prime place to sit. Grandmother's voice continued to boom over the sands, though Birdecho hardly paid it any mind, too lost in her head. While Grandmother commanded everyone's rapt attention at every moment, Birdecho had learned the art of simply ignoring her. Not out of any malicious or stubborn intent--she was just really good at dissociating. And yet here she was, the first warrior out of her littermates, she thought smugly. Oh, yikes. She didn't like that twisting feeling in her chest, like her heart pounded at the thought of being better than someone.
Another angry voice caught her fractured attention, and Birdecho steered herself towards Silentpaw and an unfamiliar she-cat. She slunk away, seemingly chastised by Silentpaw's outburst. Woo boy. Tough crowd.
"Family trouble?" Birdecho mewed dryly as she plopped her haunches onto the sand right next to Silentpaw. "Boy, do I get it." Birdecho didn't know what she'd do if she ran into the littermate that abandoned them. What was her name? Howling? Heron? No... Mire? Well, regardless, she got it. Thing was: Birdecho had no reason to assume Firepaw and Silentpaw weren't related. The thought of something else between them hadn't even occurred to her.
Birdecho didn't expect him to respond; after all, she understood having limited words. Over the moons she had gotten better, and as she got used to using her own voice her vocabulary began absorbing what she had catalogued as other cats' voices. But if anyone knew how to sit in absolute silence, it was Birdecho.
Birdecho yawned, claws flexing in the chilly sands under her paws, mouth coming to a close just as Grandmother delivered some confusing and rather upsetting news. "What?" Birdecho squawked, staring up at Grandmother with a shocked gaze. Why on earth was Rookfire getting demoted? Birdecho thought Mossfreckle liked Rookfire? Wasn't he sweet on him? Did Rookfire do something? The thought flared to life in Birdecho's mind, her wide amber eyes flashing dangerously. Rookfire had been there for Birdecho after her mother died, he had laid with her in silence and let her grieve. He had worked so hard to be a medicine cat--why would he go and do something to ruin it? It didn't make sense. But Birdecho also trusted Mossfreckle more than anyone else in the forest. He had to have had a good reason to demote Rookfire. Or maybe it wasn't even him? Was it Grandmother? Birdecho thought she at least tolerated the tom.
It wasn't until Birdecho's eyes began to burn that she blinked, tears from the bitter winds threatening to roll down her cheeks. Aw great, now it looked like she was crying. She wasn't! Crying was weak. She. Wasn't. Weak. Birdecho cleaned her face with a paw, using the repetitive motion of bringing her paw from her tongue to her eyes and ears. The salty air stung her eyelids, but she kept her face straight ahead. It took all her strength not to book it back to camp and ask Mossfreckle what was going on. But despite Birdecho's ditzy tendencies, she wasn't stupid. Grandmother would surely demote her if she showed such weakness in front of the four clans. Birdecho sought out Sleepysunrise with her gaze, wondering if her sister would have any reaction. She doubted it--not like Birdecho would have been able to interpret it regardless--since Sleepysunrise was always so stoic. But she had done a lot of work with Rookfire when he was an Enforcer.
