Owlthroat padded over to a hollow just off the side of the clearing, expecting the youngster to follow. He assumed she hadn’t had any battle training so they’d be starting from the basics. One she’d caught up he turned to face her.

”Battle is the art of life as a clan cat, I’ll run you through the basics today”, Owlthroat’s words were laced with passion. ”Firstly, anything soft. Belly, throat, shoulders. That’s where most of your attacks should be aiming for, bleeds the most and inflicts the most damage.” Straight to the point as usual.

”Keep low to the ground, stay nimble and use your body through instinct.” Most cat’s had a natural apt, its what claws and teeth were designed for after all. Owlthroat truly believed the best way to learn was through doing. ”I’ll allow you to use your claws whilst we spar, no use training if you never get a real feel for it, ready?” He let each of his words sink into the air. Lowering himself into a battle stance and nodding at her to try to imitate the same.
