Re: Whispering Wetlands
ROOKFIRE
[ he/him | shadowclan enforcer | purrks ] with the border marked and the windclan patrol moving from amusing to out of sight out of mind, rookfire watched his patrolmates begin on their next task, catch a good few of the frogs. though rookfire felt it was highly unlikely the frogs would cause a lot of trouble no matter if they caught some of them or not. what did frogs even eat? rook couldnt remember ever seeing a frog eat anything of note, always worms n that kind of thing that doesnt really matter. the only thing the enforcer could come up with was attracting predators. sure, there was always the aspect of peace and equality of nature needing to remain as it choses to be or whatever but this couldnt really classify as someone breaching that unspoken contract.
[ rolls for frogs: 14, 4, 8, 19, 20, 13, 20, 19 || 6/8 - d20, 12+ success, no advantage ]
instead of continuing to focus on this irrelevant question rookfire slammed one large forepaw against a frog that had gotten too adventorous, venturing too close to him. with the amounts of animals hopping around here, the enforcer decided against placing his catch down to return to later and picked it up instead. the frogs werent extraordinarily fast or strong, only ever taking a few moments to hold down and deliver a killing blow or bite, yet slimy enough that some slipped out of rookfires grasp and disappeared into murky water or undergrowth. since there were more than enough, he let them. where was the reason in hunting down a certain frog when he could easily spin around and catch another.
a few of the frogs were honestly of impressive size, almost twice as large as the average frog appeared to be and croaking deep and loud. the enforcer focussed on those for the most part, barely needing to extend more energy than for the other frogs though and yet ultimately ending up with four frogs that could feed a warrior and a half.
ultimately, he ended up with five and one frogs and struggling a bit to keep them all pinned snugly between his jaws. a lash of his striped tail and jerk of his head would have to be enough to signal leapingpaw and shrewstep that they were to leave now, before turning and trusting a enforcer of all people could succeed at such a simple task.
[ @gs29513 ; @Fish imma write the report now but i wont log the patrol until you have posted again OR told me your character is done w hunting || 6x frog ]
