Darkleaf might not be a good fit for mentor ? But I thought I'd throw them in any way, just in case!

Personality: Darkleaf is sociable, friendly and optimistic - this usually doesn't slip. In their quiet life, they've seen themself become a bit of a workaholic, always tending to little chores or going hunting. Their fatal flaw? Cowardice. By any means possible, they will avoid participating in battle - why? In practise, they aren't any good at it. They understand their theory and can certainly teach an apprentice to fight, but put her on the battlefield, and she'll be sent running. Having this insecurity rubbed in her face can bring out her bad side - defensive and deflecting. You think they don't fight enough? They'll label you a battle hungry maniac. They've taught themself to believe that they're simply peaceful.
Skills: Darkleaf skills are... Mediocre. They're a good hunter, but it's nothing crazy. Most of their merit comes from responsibility and commitment. That said, they're capable of training an apprentice just as well as most warriors!
Looks: Darkleaf has medium-long fur and an average build. The base colour of their fur is a medium grey, and a dark-grey stripe runs from their nose to tail tip. One single dark grey splodge can be seen on her ribs.
Plot Ideas: Though Darkleaf wouldn't push Darkpaw to talk about his trauma, they'd be very intent on checking in on his feelings, and giving him openings to talk about his past if he ever wanted to. She feels she failed her last apprentice, Owlthroat, so she'd be very alert regarding Darkpaw's mental health. Maybe they could have a found family type of relationship?
Other: I'm not sure where you want Darkpaw's personality to go, but if you want him to become super closed off they might now be the best fit - this would be Darkleaf's second apprentice, after Owlthroat (who she's since fallen out with), and I'd really like her to have a better experience with her next apprentice lol.
