Re: September Gathering
Shellpaw
he/they - 6 moons - Go with the flow [inactive]
[mobile post - apologies if there’s a bunch of typos!!]
So Rainpaw hadn’t caught on. That was fine! They’d just have to send her a signal somehow. They looked to her, making their eyes wide and bug like, then jerked their head to point towards Slugpaw. Uh. Maybe that didn’t get the point across at all. To be honest, he’d probably confused her even more. It didn’t take long for Slugpaw to expose her own spy status though! Calling Salamanderpaw a meanie Mcgrumpygrouch?!?! No way! “My sister is not a meanie Mcgrumpygrouch!” He retorted, flicking his head up defiantly. There was no way Slugpaw truly had no idea why they’d hate ThunderClan, she just had to be a spy, right? He wasn’t sure what to say, what do you expect after banishing us for two moons? Except, Slugpaw didn’t banish them. She was probably in ThunderClan’s nursery all that time, unless those brutes make their kits fight - he wouldn’t put it past them. Maybe Salamanderpaw was a little harsh, but, was it not deserved? After everything they’d been through?
Now on top of all that, Slugpaw wanted to know about their warrior names. What was this, some kind of intel gathering? Was she sent to learn about the next generation of RiverClan warriors? If so, they wouldn’t let her know a thing! The mention of warrior names did have him curious though - what kind of name would he want? To be honest, he would like something to do with water. They weren’t sure what though, it was hard to come up with something with a ring to it. Shellpool? Shelltide? Shellwave? None of them seemed to fit quite right. Whatever, after a short silence, he came back from his thoughts, “I have a few ideas, but I wouldn’t tell a ThunderClanner.” He sniffed. Normally he’d be a bit too shy to speak like that, but he wasn’t happy with her calling Salamanderpaw a meanie Mcgrumpygrouch - he wouldn’t admit to himself that it could be a little deserved because… There’s no way his sister could be in the wrong against a ThunderClan cat! He glanced to her, awaiting her response, but she’d slid a little away from the group.
She didn’t think… He’d rather talk to that ThunderClan spy than her, right? He would’ve backed her up earlier, but he got distracted - well… He wasn’t sure what he would’ve said to back her up, but he was sure he’d have thought of something eventually. His ears flattened guiltily. Green eyes beginning to flicker from her to their supposed spy a couple times, before they scurried on closer to Salamanderpaw. “PSSSSST” he whispered so Slugpaw wouldn’t hear them (unless she had crazy good hearing), “I think she’s a spy you know..” he pointed to Slugpaw with his tail a little too obviously. He wasn’t sure telling Salamanderpaw would make her feel any better, but, he wanted to let her know he’s on her side at least.
He soon realised his move had left Rainpaw unarmed - and Rainpaw had no idea they were being spied on! What if Slugpaw got some info out of her?! His head flicked upwards as he glanced over, fearing his blunder may have put Rainpaw in grave danger.
