Maybe he’d spoken too soon - Owlthroat spoke confidently, but... Addressing the commander in such a manner? Newtbelly had to suppress a shudder. Hawkbite was calculated in his movements, it was interesting to watch - and very different from everything he'd learnt under Owlthroat. How he longed to get out into battle, to try something new... That said, he was glad he wasn't sparring right in the middle of camp. A loss in front of this many cats would be mortifying, at least, for Newtbelly.
