At least someone liked his idea.
"Even if it isn't buried alive, it'll put it in a position where it'll be harder for it to actively attack us. We could bury it, throw things on it.." They didn't know how long the beast would survive without food, but if they could at least imprison it long enough for it to starve, that'd be the best case scenario.
"If we had a tree fall, we'd need to be very careful to not let it get in the hole. We don't want that thing climbing the trunk to freedom."
Wolfhive wasn't hiding his frustration with Spiderthroat's knee-jerk response.
"Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't know "distract it" was your version of a gameplan." It seemed so short-sighted to him when without something more concrete, cats might be tripping over each other in the chaos. He distantly recalled a nursery tale where an invader hadn't been stopped because cats reused the same battle move. The details weren't totally there, he'd been a kit - but he didn't want anything like that to happen again, especially when stakes were so high.
"We need to at least have a more general idea of how to work in a group, otherwise it's just gonna be a disaster." The snake idea wasn't the best, he'd give him that - they hadn't seen the kind of snake that killed Tawnykit in moons and they'd likely just feed the creature.
"If we're gonna take this thing down with minimal injuries, I think the sinkhole would be our best bet. If we could just.." he had to wrack his head a bit on this one.
Whatever this thing is was strong, fast, and perceptive.
"I think, if we can blind it first, that'll give us the best opportunity to lure it over the edge. We can trip it while it's following someone and send it into the hole." That would require a lot of distraction, keeping its attention away from those who were targeting its face primarily. Still risky, maybe not impossible?
"Badgerear, I think you should go for the right side, Raspberrysplotch takes the left, while Skunkstrike goes for its tail. Unless Bumba has something else planned, the two of us can focus on trying to blind it or at least inflict enough head damage to ruin its senses."
The meeting was over, and Spiderthroat and Bumba were encouraging them to rest up. This gave them some extra time to plan what they did, but Wolfhive just wanted the basic concept down so cats knew what to do in the moment.
"Let's try to rest, it's gonna be a long day tomorrow."
