Hehe.

I'm back

Said collywobbles, expecting the crowd to go wild (nobody even clapped). Anxiety was back, and this time with a cousin - more anxiety, who was really just there as the supportive sidekick, but this time it actually did something and she felt horrible. Oh well yip yip, yippe hippee, you know what great time it is, its time to go patrol again! There were three other warriors going with her, but she felt to shy and her veins writhed with nervousness when she tried to talk to them, so she didn't ask for they're names. They must've expected that she already knew what they were called, and that they could just call her "Apprentice" and it'd be fine. Aaand before she could count to she-couldn't-count they were off to Shadow's Break. The rest of her patrol stood normally, not tall or anything. Meanwhile here she was, hunched, crouched low, as if she could avoid the dangers of the forest if she was just close enough too the ground. After a few minutes of looking over her shoulder every two seconds, they finally got to the clearing known as Shadow's Break. "Split up, and find prey! Someone go with the Apprentice, though." The patrol leader called.

All of the cats began going off to random directions, though they showed clear caution as to not destroy and herbs in the area. One came up to her, mewing "Come on," before padding away. Oh yeah, did she mention her nose was now an esteemed assassin? And it was gonna get a singular mouse-foot for getting a 360 no-scope on her, which was enough for it to bring out the over-sized bazooka. She closely followed the Warrior, who she'd fittingly named 'Fur'. Because he had long fur. She had the mind of cat-einstein. "Pick up the scent of preey, Apprentice." He said every word long and dragging, as if she couldn't understand normal speech without clear orders. She nodded slowly. Her muzzle raised to the air, picking out each scent as Fur had said. Mouse! She thought with suppressed delight.

[Above 13 is a catch, below is a fail! Rolling a d20...!]

Roll 1 - 5
prey=mouse

She flicked her tongue in and out with determination, bending her legs into a crouch. She tracked it; it wasn't very hard, the mouse wasn't even trying to not smell. She was soon within sight of the rodent, and her eyes locked on the creature. It was nice and plump, and would for sure feed a cat for more than a whole afternoon. She crawled closer, her belly fur brushing the light tips of the New-leaf grass below her. She sprang at it, and it squealed. She smiled, as her paws crashed down on the- wait.... Grass? Oh. Plants; she'd missed. Under her paws, she found a patch of tansy. Guilt flushed her face. "Oh well great job there! Sneered the warrior.

Roll 2 - 1
prey=vole
I GOT LIKE 3 5'S IN A ROW AND THEN THIS? T-T

Still in egoistical shambles from her last catch, she knew she had to be better this time. After prowling around the stream for a while, she finally spotted a vole, wary after hearing the mouses squeak. She smiled, it wouldn't even see her coming! She went into a hunters crouch once again, and stalked up to the vole. She lunged forward when she was close enough. Even a kit could've struck it down from here. This was an easy catch.
.....
She tripped on a sliding pebble when she'd leaped...
And landed face first in the stream, and the vole a few mouse-lengths across on the other side was already long-gone.
"How bad are you?" The warrior mocked.

Role 3 - 2
prey=bwig thrush
Ok, ok. *Inhale* WHAT?? rip willowpaw o7

The vole thankfully had been to focused on the, you know, hugely deadly cat who'd face planted in front of it, and had somehow forgotten to cry out. By now, most of the prey scents were returning, after the plump mouse's warning. Included in that selection of brave prey, was this huge thrush. It was pecking for food, by the outer edges of the clearing. I'll prove myself with this one! She thought valiantly, still red with embarrassment from her last attempt at hunting, which was now listed in the 'Top ten FAILS of all time! #Trend #Fails ' of the cat world. She did all the hunting things one was meant to do perfectly, and she didn't make the mistake of being over-confident this time. The huge thrush was within striking range. She paused, and the whole forest seemed to do the same. The thrush started chirping, but was soon screaming with alarm as she crashed forward, paws wildly slashing. Her claws met feather for the first time this whole patrol, and she felt her hope fly to the sky. The bird went limp, and if only she'd noticed the rise of its chest. She stared at its seemingly-dead carcass. She took it up with a shine of pride, and held it in her claws for a moment of admiring. She caught this. All on her own.
Wow.

It suddenly cackled maniacally and laughed a chirp. It took off - right in her own paws. It flew higher, and higher, and higher, until it was out of sight.
She took a second to process that.
The warrior was holding back laughter at this point.
"BAH- What was that??" He was on the ground now, writhing with chortles and amusement.
She collapsed to the ground too, but with pure embarrassment, and her paws wrapped tightly around her blushing head.

[hello d20 roller what the heck?]
