The ferns shifted to her right, and she cracked open one of her eyes to peer at the
‘invader’. Was Hawkbite seeking already–
no! This meant that she was caught! She inhaled sharply, feeling a bit disappointed in the fact that she had been caught, but the scent that she was smelling wasn’t Hawkbite, no, this little
‘invader’ smelled of the nursery.
The sight of fluffy pale brown fur was accompanied by a soft meow, and then she came to the realization that it was only a kit who had come to hide with her. The corners of her lips quirked up into a smile, both out of relief and contentment with her new hiding companion. She looked young, but old enough to be an apprentice soon.
“Hello, I’m Midnightpaw.” Her voice was a quiet whisper, seeing as even though Hawkbite wasn’t seeking yet, she didn’t want him to possibly hear her voice and have an idea as to where she was hiding before he had even gone searching.
