Cinderflare lay stretched out on one of the highest stones that dotted Lionsbeach, looking out over the ocean. It was late, but unlike the rest of the Clan she had no intention of going anywhere near the camp. Sleeping in her own place, somewhere in the territory, had always been her choice ever since she got her warrior name.

Usually, this late at night, nobody else came along to bother her. She should've been expecting someone to show up on this particular night; Lionsbeach was a popular destination, and the sky was clear. A great swath of stars stretched from one horizon to the other; if she were more sentimental, she might pause to admire it.

Instead, her attention was caught by one of her Clanmates. Dusklion, the warrior - or Head Lionheart now, rather - who had caused such a ruckus at the last meeting. Cinderflare didn't know much of her, but that wasn't anything particular to Dusklion. It was hard to get to know too many cats when she spent most of her days finding some odd or end to busy herself with out in some corner of the territory.

The gray molly watched the other cat quietly for a while; it didn't seem that she'd been noticed. Dusklion still seemed rather emotional, which earned a silent scoff from Cinderflare. Why was she so bent out of shape over losing out on the deputy spot? Cats who made their entire life all about leadership never made much sense to her.

One thing that had certainly never escaped Cinderflare's notice was Dusklion's appearance- she was certainly one of the more unique-looking cats in the Clan, and in a good way. The warrior had no romantic interest of any kind in her- she wouldn't, even if she knew her better. But, there was some... sort of interest, some sort of draw. She was a very pretty cat, and Cinderflare concluded that must be the reason.

Bright blue eyes watched as Dusklion took a place on a rock, one situated a fair bit lower than her own. Crossing her front paws, she said, "You know, that fur of yours looks awfully pretty in the moonlight."
