Flameflicker continued walking forward confidently with a steady gait. He knew the tom would follow him, in a very arrogant way. After a good amount of time he stopped. "Alright. I have realized that this clan is filled with fools who are incapable of doing simple tasks. Therefore, I have decided to stop this from continuing, generation to generation of idiots, I will teach the young. Because, of course, I am the only one who is able to fix this mess," he said arrogantly, knowing how full of himself he sounded. "Now, if you had anything up there," he began once more after a pause, pointing to his head, "You would follow and listen to me. Or, you could march right on back and sit around all day in the sun lazily, just like the rest of the buffoons in the cursed clan." He stopped, giving the apprentice time to decide what to do.

If the apprentice decided to leave, he would call in his wake, "Ha! Exactly what I thought. You apprentices have inherited the stupidity of your dumb elders. I guess it is pointless to try and fix the horrendous mess they have left. Go live your awful life. I hope you die," he would snarl.

However, if the apprentice decided to stay and continue listening, for whatever reason, Flameflicker would adopt a more gentle manner. "Good. There might still be hope for this distasteful mess. Now, I will teach you how to hunt. The first thing I will tell you is to be mindful. Always be aware. This lesson is not just for hunting, but for your life. Be careful who you trust. I, for one, do not trust you fully. Some may call me pessimistic, but I consider myself renowned. Anyways, the first step in hunting is to be silent. Do not chit chat with your friends. You always stay alert. This intel is useful for patrols as well. You stay calm, organized, and always ready for anything. Once you discover your prey, usually through sound or smell, not sight, as it is the last way you will determine the location and existence of the animal, you will go into a basic crouch. I will start it simply, without moving." He got down into a crouch, lowering his chest almost to the ground and his haunches just above it. He kept his tail somewhat higher, but refrained from having it stick out above or moving it in any manner. He froze, staying in that position for a while. Then he stood, motioning for Sprucepaw to do the same. "Your turn," he barked, getting ready to study how Sprucepaw would perform.
