Raccoonpelt had been staring at the prey pile. The tom had been trying to find something for his two kits to eat.

But everything was spoiled.

There was nothing his kits could eat. All the food was covered in mold and crow food. It didn't help that the endless rain made it damn near impossible when it came to hunting. The tom had seen it first hand. The raccoon-like cat stomped on of his paws in frustration sending a splash of water onto himself before going to turn to try and go hunt for something. Though before Raccoonpelt could even walk to the entrance of the camp. The bloodied and battered Beansprout had came through the reeds. Raccoonpelt listened to what the 'leader' had to say.

The gray tom took a step closer to Beansprout. Do not mistake it for concern. Raccoonpelt wanted to know exactly what happened. Though before the tom could question the one eyed siamese. Beansprout yelled for the clan to run.

That's when the walls broke.

Thats when one thing filled his mind.

His kits.

Raccoonpelt took a beeline to the nursery pushing past cats not caring about them. The only thing on his mind were Minkkit and Flintkit. Raccoonpelt ran to his families nest and looked in.

Only to find a sleeping Flintkit.

Raccoonpelt quickly nudged his son awake.

"Love. Love. Wake up. We have to go on a trip. Where's your sister?"

Flintkit was of course sleeping soundly in his nest. There was no reason to go outside. It was pouring and he was pretty sure he got hit in the head with a piece of ice from the sky. So yep, no outside the den. Though the nursery wasn't better. It was wet in here too. At least he wasn't getting hit in the head with ice. Flintkit curled into himself with no knowledge of what was happening outside.

That was until he was nudged awake and Flintkit looked up at his papa. Trip? Huh? Where were they going? This meant Flintkit had to go outside. Then the topic of Minkkit came up. Flintkit looked around. The pale she-kit was no where in the nest.

"I-I don't know? What's happening?"

Where was Minkkit? She was where she'd been for the past few weeks. Hiding. Hiding in the deepest, darkest, most secluded corner of the nursery, curled into a tiny little ball. Hiding, from the pain that plagued her and caused her to emit whimpers and wails every time she stepped out into the sunlight. It was no help that the sky was angry and had split in two. Or maybe it was sad. That was why it'd been crying for the past eternity. Sometimes the sky cried so hard that cubes of ice fell down to the ground. Minkkit had even seen the sky hit Flintkit straight on the head with one. She wondered what he'd done to offend it.

So at first, when Beanstar called out for RiverClan, Minkkit was unaware. Really, she didn't hear any of anyones words, with the way she was tucked away in a corner of the nursery, afraid of every beam of light that shined through the brambles.

And then. . . and then the water started.

It... Minkkit had never seen anything like it, and that was saying something. The stars knew that Minkkit had seen a whole lot of what she wasn't meant to. But now, water streamed into the den, first at a slow pace, and then faster and faster. It was only then that the runt kitten's ears picked up on the shouting. The absolute chaos picking up outside. And... she did nothing. She just lay there, thinking about the surreal sounds the cats outside were making.

All of a sudden, cats were rushing from and into the nursery with a sense of urgency, and still, all Minkkit did was look down at her now-drenched paws and underbelly and wonder where all the water was coming from. "The sky is crying." She said eventually, to no one. But her smile stretched as wide as it would go. "The sky is crying, Papa, and it's washing away all the red."

It was only then that she realized her Papa in question was not near her. That was odd. Papa was always at her side. He never left her alone, especially after the sun had started hurting her eyes. Minkkit had cried endlessly after that fateful day. She hadn't been much of a crier before, but fear had wormed it's way into her heart after what that creature had done to her. Minkkit was terrified that the sun was mad at her, and that was why it burned her eyes whenever she stepped under it's light.

The water level just kept getting higher and higher, and Minkkit automatically began to paddle her small feet to keep afloat. "Papa?" She called out, searching for her father. "Flint-friend?"
