Well, at least their visitor, Drift, apparently, wasn't looking to cause problems. That was some kind of relief, although it didn't quite explain the plants. Of course, now she had to think who Fireflame was. Her ability to remember names wasn't quite in tiptop condition, especially having been out of the loop so long, but that did ring a bell of some kind, so Fireflame was probably still around. That was good, she didn't really want to be the bearer of bad news. Goodness, this kid was twitchy. A bit more talkative that Snowy, but just about as nervous. In a way that made her want to give him a hug. Shaking her head to get rid of that thought(NO DEADMOM, you cannot adopt every apprentice and kit you lay eyes on), she redirected her attention to Driftkit.
Wanting to see his kin was certainly a motivation Deadmoon was familiar with, although she'd never thought to bring some kind of gift back. Herbs was a bit of a funny choice seeing as he didn't actually know if they were herbs or not, but to each their own she supposed. At least he'd thought to bring something. All she'd ever brought was a former Shadowclanner.
I see. she mewed, looking at him rather critically. He probably was formerly of Windclan if he knew Fireflame existed, along with Cowpaw, and he certainly didn't smell like any of the other clans so he probably wasn't a spy. Still, questioning of some sort was in order. He'd probably have to go through it all again with Twilightstar, but cautiousness hadn't killed many cats the way curiosity had.
How have you survived so long, seeing as you were only a kit when you got lost or whatever? You don't have any friends lurking around waiting for favors, right? Maybe she sounded a bit pessimistic, overly skeptical even, but after the hoopalah with the Dusk Syndicate(which she'd admittedly only heard about), it was probably a good idea to make sure they weren't pulling the strings, not truly disbanded. If she came across as a bit nasty, she could live with that. Of course, he'd practically won her over already, this was more a way to satisfy her own conscience that due diligence had been done, but he'd have to put up with it if he wanted the way to camp anytime in the next moon. Stars knew how long it had taken HER to find it on her own, and she'd been around much longer than Driftkit. @
Apollo. (My pleasure!!!)
