Shadowfur is a strict and disciplined mentor. He’s a good teacher, but his methods can come across as harsh and intense at times. These qualities stem from an incident that happened with his first apprentice; his goal is to prepare any other apprentice he has for the dangers and challenges of life in the wild, so that they are unlikely to go through what his first apprentice did.

In addition, he is a silent Dawn opposer. He serves her loyally and diligently, and keeps the peace as much as possible, so that he can remain an Enforcer and hopefully grow into her inner circle. He cares deeply about ShadowClan, and believes that Dawnstar has guided them in the wrong direction. As such, if/when he comes to notice Mousekit’s positivity and passion, he will want to try to guide him and shape him into a warrior who can remain good while remaining in Dawn’s good graces and surviving. He will never express his disdain for Dawn’s leadership style; outwardly, he will appear as a loyal follower of her’s. However, he wants to try to keep tabs on all of the cats in ShadowClan who may feel as he does- or who could, if their nature is maintained properly.

This ended up being a really long proposal haha, but if you’d be open to considering Shadowfur for Mousekit’s mentor, let me know! ( @Alchemist Kitsune )

I will admit that I have considered Mousekit will either end up going a lot darker as he ages up or he will die fairly young due to his personality clashing a bit too much with what is preferred among ShadowClan warriors. I had not considered the possibility of him having a mentor that would both nurture that softer side of him - even if it is in a stern way - as well as teach him how to survive while maintaining a level of genuine goodness within ShadowClan. It's definitely an interesting road to take him down on.

Because Mousekit is only 2 moons as of so far and won't be apprenticed until March at the very earliest I am a bit hesitant to reserve a mentor for him, but if you are still interested by March, I would definitely be up for that mentor/apprentice dynamic.
