The flame-point entered the clearing, catching a whiff of other cats. But there was something else that smelled tangy. He sniffed around, not realizing that he had a small batch of blood covering hid muzzle. With some staining his white fur as well. He quirked his mouth before going to report back to Fallownose. Giving a flick of his bob. He looked towards the deputy with a hint of innocence. "Me and erm.. Snowypaw? mm.. finished out hunting patrol! We both managed to catch some rabbits! He grinned cheekily.

Fallownose watched as Stumpypoppy padded over with blood on him to report the patrol. Should I say something to him, or...? he thought as he listened to the warrior give his report. "Good job, Stumpypoppy. You have some blood on your muzzle you might want to clean off," he mewed politely.

The deputy turned his attention to Crowfoot as he padded up after Stumpypoppy to report. He frowned as he mentioned Splitmeadow didn't report and nodded his thanks. "I'll make sure to speak to him about it. Thank you for informing me."

After depositing his prey on the fresh-kill pile and taking the odd mice from Fawnpaw, the muscular gray tom padded to the base of the Breezerock to report to Fallownose. The deputy's dark gray pelt blended in with the long rock, making his white paws and underbelly stand out starkly. Wolffang stopped in front of him and laid the mice on the floor of the sandy clearing before speaking. "Fawnpaw and I had a successful hunting patrol. There were no predators or other unwanted disturbances, and together, we were able to catch two rabbits, a vole, and two mice. Fawnpaw displayed excellent hunting skills, and although I'm not her mentor, I'm confident in her abilities. But there is something I wanted to ask you." Wolffang prodded the white mice with a large, broad paw. "We caught these mice - well, she caught them, but I drove them out of their holes - but they look strange. I wanted your opinion on whether we should add them to the fresh-kill pile or not." If he'd been deputy, Wolffang would've said to add them and report to the medicine cat if any strange symptoms showed. They looked like normal mice except for their coloring. But he wasn't deputy anymore. This was Fallownose's decision, and he waited calmly to see what the tall tom had to say.

Wolffang's report was longer than the other's had been, but for good reason. Fallownose eyed the two oddly colored mice at his paws with curiosity. Perhaps mice were simply like cats and could have different pelts? But then, why hadn't he seen any before? "Thank you for informing me, Wolffang. They don't seem to smell any different than regular mice, so you can put them on the pile. If anyone has symptoms after eating them then they should see Cowpaw immediatly."

If it was newleaf, the slate-gray tom would have had Wolffang bury them, but it was leaf-bare and WindClan needed all the prey they could get.

Fallownose was just about to head back to the warrior's den when Aspenstrike came over to report a patrol, though it was a little late. And why hadn't Ashclaw shown up to report it himself? He'd have to talk to the tom about that. "Right, thank you for reporting Aspenstrike. I'll be lenient this time since it was reported, but don't make a habit of being late."
