As Beastgrowl was exiled from the Clan and two warriors, Otterfluff and Fogcloud followed him out to make sure of his banishment, Flintfang had calmed down enough to turn his sage green gaze back to Pikestar. By this time, though, Pikestar was already once again seated upon Streamstone. Huh, Flintfang had probably been too angry to notice the leader's return to his perch.

Blinking a couple times, the silver-furred tom exhaled, twining his tail with Silverpaw's as Fawnpaw's disappearance was announce. Newfound worry etched itself into the lines on Flintfang's face as he realized what that meant. More burden and depression for his sister, and more stress for himself. Oh no, he wished he could throw his paws over her ears to never ever let anyone say anything that'd hurt her again. But alas, Silverpaw deserved to know what had happened to her friend, and Flintfang just sat there with his side pressed against hers, providing support and safety. Providing warmth and kinship. And above all else, providing a home. Because in the end, Silverpaw deserved a place and time to cower. She deserved to complain.

It was ironic that Flintfang had not seen all that before, and that after Lilyheart's death he'd gone gallivanting off into the woods as if having no care in the world. Now, Flintfang didn't regret those days, as he'd met Raccoonpelt, the love of his life, but he definitely regretted the moments where he'd turned a blind eye to Silverpaw's needs. She needed a family. She needed support.

'Never again,' he vowed. Never again would Flintfang ignore the cats around him. He would protect his kin and Clan, even if it cost him his life. Especially Silverpaw and Reedwhisker.
