Larkkit— No, Larkpaw, puffed out her chest with pride, grinning widely as she silently congratulated herself. She had done it. She had made it! Lark had joined a Clan and been named one of their apprentices. Her head whipped in Daykit’s direction at the sound of his cheering, and Larkpaw’s heart seemed to swell in her chest with an unfathomable, warm feeling. She beamed at him, lifting her tail to wave. It made Lark realize how much she had always truly seemed to want loving, caring siblings.

Her gaze scanned the clearing for her new mentor, Foxshade was his name?, and Larkpaw felt both determined to make her Clan and its leader even more proud. She vowed to outshine the cats she'd been dubbed apprentice with. Larkpaw didn't think she was better or higher in standing, but she knew that if she tried hard enough, maybe she'd be able to surpass Dawnstar's expectations. But even thinking that was probably pushing the line too much. Now, where was her mentor, and what did they look like?
