Re: The Starcave

From the starry depths emerged a calico she-cat. Her kind green eyes sparkled as they landed on the two Riverclan cats. Today she would grant a life to a new leader. One she hoped would finally be the one to end all of this pain that warriors past and present had suffered.
How much time had passed since she had died? She had watched so many leaders from Thunderclan and Riverclan receive and quickly lose the lives her clanmates had granted them. Kestrelstar and Skystar both foolishly lost a bundle of their lives at once, throwing Riverclan into chaos. Even the medicine cats had disappeared, leaving the rest of the clan to pick up the pieces. It was heartbreaking to watch. Could Thunderclan and Riverclan not thrive together?
Finally, finally her home had gotten stability in the form of Cinderstar and Sparrowflight. Robinwhisker had watched gleefully from the stars as Thunderclan was finally united and prospering after seasons of chaos. I wish so badly that I could enjoy it too. A familiar pang of sadness shot through the calico she-cat. Thunderclan had all but forgotten her. No one cared to bring her up anymore, no one mourned her. It was the one downside of eternal peace in the stars. Her painful death was ultimately for nothing.
Or was it? Thunderclan was not the only clan Robinwhisker watched over. Despite dying at the paws of Riverclan, she considered them as equals. Of course this took a lot of reflection, crying, and confessions that only the glittering stars would hear. Countless days she cursed Riverclan for killing her, for killing Eveningstar and Buckstar. For sending her clan into seasons of turmoil and death. It was only recently that she saw Riverclan for what it truly was.
“Hiya! It’s so nice to meet you both.” Green eyes flashed over to the small medicine cat. I already like her. “The name’s Robinwhisker. I was a warrior of Thunderclan during Buckstar and Eveningstar’s leaderships. During that battle between our clans, I was poisoned. Despite Icicleripple’s best efforts I slowly and painfully passed away.” She took a moment to shoo away her own feelings of dread and regret. This was about Snowleap and Fawnpaw.
“Anyways enough about me, huh? Let's talk about you. Fawnpaw before I give Snowleap his life, I have a message for you. Your position is going to be tough. Cats are going to die no matter how hard you fight to save them. I just… don’t want you to beat yourself up too bad when that happens.” Stars, she hoped Icicleripple eventually found peace with her death. She also prayed to… uh who did starclan cats pray to?.... Someone that Fawnpaw wouldn’t ever be put in the same situation. "You are going to do great things. Believe in yourself, you've got Robinwhisker in your corner." A final smile towards the she-cat before turning to the leader. It was time for his life.
“I am giving you the life of forgiveness. Please use it to lead Thunderclan and Riverclan into an era of peaceful relations. Forgive the past. You don’t have to forget it if you don’t want to…” please don’t… I want someone to remember me. “... but to lead well you have to forgive.”
Touching her pink nose to Snowleap’s, she allowed her last moments to flood his body and mind. She felt the burning torture of the poison flood her every cell, slowly but surely locking up her body until she no longer moved. It wasn’t intentional, unfortunately her pain seemed to come with the life. Who made up the Starclan rules anyways?
Once the searing pain subsided, Robinwhisker took a pawstep back. She could sense her time with the two was ending. Soon enough they would be back amongst the living, and she would continue watching them from the stars. "Good luck you two. I'm proud of you." With that, she disappeared back into the starry depths.
