She wondered where this was going. That was a lie, Splashleap knew EXACTLY what this was about, and she was quite intrigued to see it too. Kestrelstar certainly looked in a mood, which didn't bode well for the embarrassment twins. Technically almost all cats were twins, an only child would be more rare, but it SOUNDED GOOD, ok? A little artistic license could be used from time to time, as long a you didn't overdo it. Which she didn't think this was, but then again, it was her so of course she didn't think it was overdoing it, if she did she wouldn't have continued thinking about it. This was one of those times when a neutral would have been nice, but unfortunately those did not exist inside her head and she would prefer to avoid sounding like she was crazy and asking someone. So continued internal conflict it was, while she watched what was sure to be an external conflict between Kestrelstar and the idiot twins.

And she was not disappointed. Rather than taking their rebuke politely they continued to object, with the now Floodpaw joining Stormpaw as an apprentice until they had learned some manners. Well deserved, in her opinion. She hoped a permanent Gathering ban was included for at least Stormpaw, taking him was really too much trouble, for everyone involved. Yes it was horrible that his mother was killed, yes they were probably going to get into a fight with Shadowclan at some point, no you should not make that fight occur during a Gathering because you couldn't control your tongue. Poor Lizardfrost. Too competent for her own good.

Snakeheart's announcement was unexpected, but not completely so. He had been tired lately, and a helper would definitely be good for him. And he seemed to have a bit of his humor back, or at least Splashleap hoped he was joking about skinning whoever was filling his den with Cattail fluff. In her opinion it might be more efficient to just use the Cattail fluff for his own nest, but that wouldn't send quite the point, would it? And, she supposed, the fluff might stick to you a bit more than fur, especially if that fur was still a full pelt. Hmm, maybe there were merits to the idea of skinning the perpetrator after all.
