Crows n Berries [P]
CROWPAW Posts: 64 | Female | 12 Moons Purrks: None ___________________________________________ Dawww BerryShine. CrowPaws heart hurt for the older she. The two medics…well…BerryShine and the ex-medic now…they did so much for her. But Cobs left. He’d BerryShine known she was gone before the meeting?…How did that work? There were plenty announcements, numerous to celebrate over…but then there was CobwebStorm. Goodness…this was giving her a headache. A headache that apparently carried her to the medicine den a few minutes after the meeting. It seemed…empty…other than Berries. Suppose that’s good…cats are in good health. “B-Berry…Shine…may I-I enter?” she hesitantly questioned, her paws shuffling under her. |

| BERRYSHINE | small & nimble dark brown she-cat with darker flecks and light, leafy-green eyes | the collector | dreamwalker | [ riverclan medicine cat | she-cat | 16 moons | timid, kind, hardworking ] — Berryshine had silently left the meeting, not having made much of a reaction except for her approval of the chosen Lionhearts and Sunheart as deputy — he deserved it, and she was more than happy for the tom. It was a little light in her otherwise dark mind, a hole left where Cobwebstorm's presence should be. Her best friend, her... [ @Rowan  ] |

CROWPAW Posts: 64 | Female | 12 Moons Purrks: None ___________________________________________ CrowPaw let out a relieved breath whenever the medic gave her permission to enter, and she slipped into the den, sadness and empathy laced her gaze. The faint scent of CobwebStorm in here caused tears to prick her gaze…no- no…calm down. Then Berries asked what she could do for CrowPaw. That wasn’t right…”N-no…Berries…y-you don’t always…have- have to w-worry about others…o-or me…Wh-what happened…you- you do-don’t have to ac-act okay with it…or t-try to constantly he-help others and…let yourself suffer…be- cause of…it…” sure, it may be pitiful to hear encouraging words from such a anxious cat…but CrowPaw would try regardless. “I-I’m here for you…Wh-what can I do t-to help you?” |

| BERRYSHINE | small & nimble dark brown she-cat with darker flecks and light, leafy-green eyes | the collector | dreamwalker | [ riverclan medicine cat | she-cat | 16 moons | timid, kind, hardworking ] — Berryshine's eyes widened as she heard Crowpaw say those shaky words; a soft reprimanding (one borne of care and affection) was not what she'd been expecting. It almost felt bold, coming from the meek apprentice, and took the medic off guard for a moment. Here she was, so often the one that told her Clanmates the same things when they came to her with their woes, and now... she was the one being 'scolded' this time. [ @Rowan :heartbounce: ] |

ོ c r o w p a w ོ • she/her • 12 moons • riverclan/apprentice • no purrks ❝ welcome to the panic room, you'll know I wasn't joking, when you see them ❞ Crowpaw stood still, her breath hitching as she watched BerryShine unravel, just a little. CrowPaw understood that kind of helplessness all too well. Her paws shuffled, uncertain, before she hesitantly stepped closer, tail twitching at her back. "I-It's okay not to know…" she murmured, voice quiet but firm. "I-If S-St-StarClan won’t answer you...th-then maybe they don’t have the answers either..." She swallowed hard, pushing past the nerves clawing at her throat. "M-maybe it’s not about figuring out why...o-or what you're s-supposed to do...b-but just...getting through it." Her chest tightened at the sight of the older she-cat’s grief, of the weight she carried so heavily on her shoulders. She had felt that weight before, she still felt it, CrowPaw knew how it could crush you if you let it. And she wouldn’t allow Berrys carry it alone. "You d-don't have to do everything by yourself...e-even if it f-feels like you do." Her voice wavered slightly. "You d-don’t have to pretend you’re fine, or that you have to be str-strong all the time. T-That’s not fair to you." Her claws flexed against the den floor, frustration bubbling beneath her sadness. Why did the ones who gave the most always seem to suffer the most? Why did cats like BerryShine—who only ever wanted to help—have to be the ones left feeling lost and exhausted? It wasn’t fair. None of this was fair. "You’re not alone, B-Berrys…" CrowPaw assured quietly, glancing at the medicine cat with something softer in her usually wary gaze. "I-I know it might not mean much, but...I’m here. A-and I’ll stay as long as you need me to." She hesitated, then, with awkward, uncertain movements, reached out to gently press her nose to Berryshine’s shoulder. It wasn’t much, and she wasn’t sure if it was even the right thing to do, but...it was all she had to offer. └> . . . @squidz |

| BERRYSHINE | small & nimble dark brown she-cat with darker flecks and light, leafy-green eyes | the collector | dreamwalker | [ riverclan medicine cat | she-cat | 17 moons | timid, kind, hardworking ] — StarClan not having the answers either... that was a tough piece of fresh-kill for Berryshine to swallow. Could that be the answer? The reason? Or was it simply a truth of their unfair world, as things just happened to whoever — sometimes with no rhyme nor reason? Berryshine was already familiar with tragedy and loss, and didn't necessarily blame StarClan for it like so many cats did — she didn't think her warrior ancestors purposefully put danger and catastrophe in their way, even if they didn't always prevent it either. She didn't know how many things were just within their power and what wasn't. [ @Rowan - sobbing :sob: i love them :nuggle: ] |

How was the medicine cat able to control how much or how little she felt? It'd be impossible to do so, and yet she'd been trying for so long. Her gaze rested somberly on the dark-pelted she-cat, a twinkle of fondness in her green eyes despite the heaviness she felt inside. [ @Rowan :nuggle: ] |
