Fighting Flowing Flower Style [P][T]
Myrtlespeckle || She/her || 24 Moons || Windclan Warrior || Truth be told, these last few moons had blurred together for Myrtlespeckle. There were warrior tasks and the threats to the clan, but it didn't feel like she had done all that much. It was that thought that greeted her early in the morning, and spurred her to decide that today she would give a lesson to an apprentice. As the bob tailed she-cat entered the Clearing, she looked around for an apprentice to recruit. Bright blue eyes landed on one: Carppaw. Sunstorm mentioned her previously. Myrtlespeckle approached her, clearing her throat to announce her presence. "Carppaw, are you free for training?" With any luck, she will have caught the apprentice without any lessons planned for the day. ( @Rudie - Carppaw) |

- Carppaw- She/ Her / 9 moons / Windclan apprentice 18/100 Purrks: Lyrebird’s lullaby [Inactive] Carppaw sat around as she was told to do so. Sunstorm must be busy doing his usual warrior duties and promised her that she will be given additional training from Myrtlespeckle. She doesn’t know her yet, but she’s in high hopes that Myrtlespeckle will be as gentle as her mentor. |
Re: Fighting Flowing Flower Style [P][T]
Myrtlespeckle || She/her || 24 Moons || Windclan Warrior || It made Myrtlespeckle feel good that her name was known. Maybe she was finally building up a reputation? Or was it just that Sunstorm had told his apprentice about her? She had mentioned being willing to help out with Carppaw's training last they spoke. Thinking about it now, it was surely the latter. She decided to not let it wound her pride, as one would lead to another. If anything, it just meant they could skip introductions. "Yes." She said with a nod. The white and fawn she-cat turned, speaking over her shoulder as she headed towards the camp's entrance. "Let's go find somewhere suitable for practice. Stick close." Myrtlespeckle did not want the trouble of losing an apprentice. "Do you have any combat training?" ( @Rudie - Carppaw) |

- Carppaw- She/ Her / 9 moons / Windclan apprentice 21/100 Purrks: Lyrebird’s lullaby [Inactive] “Well, not yet.” The apprentice answered with a little shake of her head. So combat training, hm? It’s uncertain what she’ll await from that kind of education. She has witnessed many cats returning from their harsh battle, and some didn’t even manage to return. But she surely wouldn’t experience all of that when it comes to training, right? |
Re: Fighting Flowing Flower Style [P][T]
Myrtlespeckle || She/her || 24 Moons || Windclan Warrior || "We'll start with basics then." Was all she said as they left camp. Myrtlespeckle lifted her head as the pair walked through the moors, enjoying the vast feeling of the clan's territory. The awe she felt the first time she left camp never really left her. Not being pestered with questions every five seconds helped too. The two finally stopped in a shallow dip between two hills. The land was more narrow than wide, but the ground was even. And really, they didn't need that much space when there wouldn't be any true sparring. Myrtlespeckle turned to face Carppaw, her bobtail doing a little swish. "We will start with something basic: strikes with your front paw. These are incredibly versatile and will be a staple for any combatant." The warrior settled into her usual battle stance, before demonstrating the move. A few simple swipes at an imaginary target, and even a jab in there for good measure. When she finished, she looked to the apprentice. "Give it a try, and tell me where the most vulnerable parts of the body are." ( @Rudie - Carppaw) |

- Carppaw- She/ Her / 9 moons / Windclan apprentice 22/100 Purrks: Lyrebird’s lullaby [Inactive] Oh, right. The basics. Alright, Carppaw. You got this. Carppaw lifts up her right paw, and looks back to the horizon, picturing it as if someone before her is a rival cat. With her brows boldly furrowed, she unsheathes her claws and makes a strong swipe in midair. Then another one, along with another forepaw held ready for a few more blows. Some are targeted towards the upper direction, some aimed at the lower section. “Did I do good?” |
Re: Fighting Flowing Flower Style [P][T]
Myrtlespeckle || She/her || 24 Moons || Windclan Warrior || Myrtlespeckle silently watched as Carppaw practiced. Hm, unsheathing her claws made sense if they were to fight, but Windclan was civilized, unlike some other clans. Still, she waited until the russet apprentice finished her set before speaking up. "It's good to show initiative, but practicing will take place without claws." It was just the two of them, and Myrtlespeckle was sure she could handle Carppaw, but in the future? She didn't want to be held liable for potential accidents. The warrior approached Carppaw and started to speak again, "Yes, the belly and by extension your chest. But also your neck," She tried to press a paw against the apprentice's neck - not to hurt but for demonstration - and then on her brow, "and your eyes. Injuring your leg can be detrimental, but not as vital as those three. You can fight without seeing, but you would be at a disadvantage." Myrtlespeckle stepped back, leaving a three tails length distance between the two. "Now, try to land a blow on me without claws. When you land one, we will move on." ( @Rudie - Carppaw) |

- Carppaw- She/ Her / 9 moons / Windclan apprentice 23/100 Purrks: Lyrebird’s lullaby [Inactive] She gradually nods as she listens closely to her mentor listing the three additional body parts that are vital to being kept intact during combat. So, chest, neck, eyes, and belly, right? Or did she miss something? |
Re: Fighting Flowing Flower Style [P][T]
Myrtlespeckle || She/her || 24 Moons || Windclan Warrior || Myrtlespeckle watched as Carppaw readied herself. She herself settled into her usual battle stance, though she wouldn't be trading any blows herself. It was just natural to her at this point, and maybe the apprentice could learn a thing or two by seeing a more practiced stance in action. When Carppaw leapt, Myrtlespeckle dodged to the side, stepping out of range. "Good." She said, noting the lack of claws. The warrior kept herself facing Carppaw, knowing better than to keep herself exposed, even in training. "Pouncing can be good, but try to make sure that you don't leave yourself exposed. Try again." - Carppaw- She/ Her / 9 moons / Windclan apprentice 25/100 Purrks: Lyrebird’s lullaby [Inactive] The warrior evades her move by leaping aside, causing the dark ginger apprentice to crash onto the floor and slide a few more mouse-lengths forward until it peters out. She wearily makes her position, and notices Myrtlespeckle standing and waiting behind her. “Ah, fox-dung.” Carppaw shakes all of the collected dust and dirt from her pelt, and turns back to the warrior, flustered from the first strive. Cats are notably more experienced and slick when she compares them to the bugs that she usually hunts down during her free time. |
