A small black tom entered the area cautiously, stomach growling and in pain from hunger. The scent of prey was strong in this area so this is where Bat was lead to, anxious though as he'd never been around here before. He walked slowly and quietly as he searched for something to kill, knowing that he needed to eat soon. He'd been recovering from an injury for the past few days and hadn't had the strength to hunt, but he finally did now.

He stopped in his tracks when he stumbled across an already dead thrush. He sniffed at and analyzed the bird carefully, coming to the conclusion that it had been killed recently. Fear washed over him as he wondered what could be nearby that would just leave this out here. His ears pricked up and he was on high alert now, scanning the area for any sign of life other than him. The sounds of other prey scurrying amidst the junk piled around was awfully distracting, though.

@nyx (hope this is alright!)

Bright sage green eyes flashed in the shadows of a nearby box.

Waiting.

Watching.

One wrong move, one wrong step, one wrong twig out of place and he'd go hungry. He's been relying on birds and animals of prey for food but he was never satisfied. Thinking carefully, his brain searched the options in front of him. He could jump out and attack the cat now or bring the cat to him. "Psst.." he whispered in a silver sweet voice. "Don't worry, I'm a friend." Yellow teeth smiled in the dark. "You should be careful out here. It's dangerous." His green eyes went wide.

Bat felt a shiver run down his spine, a sickening feeling of being watched spreading throughout him. He looked around, becoming increasingly more panicked as he turned his head side to side. Eventually, he caught a glimpse of bright green standing out in the piles of trash. "Hello?" He then squeaked out, anxiously.

The response did not make his worries any better. The voice screamed dangerous, but Bat knew if he tried to run now he would easily be caught. Bat came to the conclusion that this was a trap, and he'd stupidly fallen right into it.

"I'm just hungry," he called out in the dark, shifting his paws around and backing away from the dead thrush. "I didn't mean to stumble into anyone's territory, I'm sorry." He tried to reason with whoever was out there, fearfully hoping that he would get a chance to leave. Another part of him hoped that he was just being delusional, and he wasn't in any danger at all. He knew that was not likely the case, though.

Albatross poked his head out of the shadowy box in an attempt to seem less intimidating. "Oh no, you misunderstand." the brown cat grinned. "What's mine is yours. Of course I'm already full, so I'm happy to share." He wasn't unfamiliar with lying through he's teeth.

The cat flicked his tail at the dead bird. "Go ahead."

Bat flinched slightly as he saw movement in the shadows, but realized it was just the stranger who was talking. The stranger in question, he could guess now, was much older than he was, which made the small black tom much more anxious. While he felt an aura of danger surrounding this cat, he couldn't exactly prove that Albatross was lying either. Something about the way he spoke was... compelling, if Bat was trying to describe it. Still, though, he sniffed at the bird for any sign of poison. Truthfully, though, he was unfamiliar with most poisonous things so to his evaluation the bird was perfectly fine. "Um, I guess..." he said nervously before taking a hesitant, small bite out of the thrush to further determine if it was safe to eat the whole thing or not. If he tasted anything off, he'd quickly spit it out.
