WindClan Medicine Cat's Den
Under the maple tree, guarded by a tunnel of ferns and tree roots, sits a huge underground hollow. Patches of light streams in from the back of the den where the roots poke holes above ground. Little caves are dug into the ground to store herbs, and large burrows are dug into the dirt and lined with moss to serve as nests for patients. Entering into the den, one can discover the main section of the den where patients can rest. However, further back there lies a sleeping chamber for the current healers of the clan. To the right of the main section is the entrance to the quarantine section, and to the left lies the herb storage. A small stream runs through it. |

https://warriorcatsonline.com/forums...ictureid=39184 | Lightningpaw | Going through the herbs that had been brought back with the most resent patrol at their storage, Lightningpaw sniffed each one intently, attempting to learn something from their scent. Perhaps there were qualities that the herbs shared that could be garnered from their smell alone? The burnet hadn't worked to the extent she had wanted. Actually, it hadn't worked at all. So she was back to square one. Running a paw down her face as she let out a groan of frustration - perhaps if she had more moons on her, more experience, she'd know what to do - her ears perked up, a voice echoing down the medicine cat's warren like den. Setting the herbs she had just been investigating down, the lithe calico poked her head out of the storage compartment, only to notice Cowtuft had evidently already gone up to greet their visitor. A quick glance at the apprentice had her recognize him in an instance, promptly approaching as she sat besides her mentor before addressing their guest. "Hey there, Bettlepaw. Fancy seeing you here. Hawksprint Hawksprint entered the den with Hazykit by his side, trying to locate Cowtuft. "Hi, Cowtuft.. could you maybe take a look at Hazykit, if you have time?" He asked the medicine cat, motioning to the kit next to him. "She seems to have some scrathches and wounds, I'm not sure.. and she seems to be in a little pain. I was hoping maybe you could check on her.. just to make sure she's alright" The tabby explained, he had to admit he knew it probably wasn't anything too bad going on with her, but he didn't want the kit to have to be in pain. "If you need any herbs to treat her, I don't mind going out to get you some" Hawksprint offered, he figured he might aswell be helpful back since he was asking Cowtuft for help. https://warriorcatsonline.com/forums...ictureid=39184 | Lightningpaw | "Cowtuft! Cowtuft! It's Smallpaw! He's injured! I need help!" Lightningpaw wasted no time in calling out for her mentor as she burst into the medicine cats' den. The dark, cool feeling of the warren like place Cowtuft and herself called home offered no sense of comfort now, despite how quickly the place had grown on her. The reek of infection clawed at her, and she felt the need to tend to Smallpaw's injuries as quickly as possible. She'd been forming a plan in her mind as she ran, on how to treat him. Burnet for strength seemed to be a must. The smaller calico's strength seemed to be failing him, and fast... Marigold or dandelions for the infected areas. Perhaps both. Would both be better? Smallpaw's injuries were far from miniscule. Entering one of the empty patient side burrows Dustbunny had carved into their den, Lightningpaw set Smallpaw down as carefully as she could in the nest offered there, pausing for only a second, attempting to catch her breath while she ensured Smallpaw was still breathing. Taking stock of the situation, she paid better attention to his injuries now. Having him here, in the medicine cats' den... it was somehow comforting. The lithe calico felt more in control. She could work here. She could bring Cowtuft whatever he needed... assuming they had it? Oh stars... had the herb patrols arrived with the herbs yet? "Hold on, a'ight? You're gonna be fine. Cow's gonna get here, and he's gonna fix you right up. Just wait and see, alright, Smalls?" she mewed in her best attempt at a confident voice, her tail giving a nervous twitch as she headed towards the entrance to let her mentor know where she'd placed the patient. The room smelled like herbs, and it felt like his paws were floating- was he in the medicine den? But he was ok, right? His head was spinning and his breath was going faster than first. And was he laying on something? He heard voices, kits, apprentices... And he heard a panicking voice of Lighteningpaw.... It was silent for a moment for him, he heard a really distant, comforting voice of lightningpaw. Reassuring something, he didn't know what. Dustbunny had done an amazing job on their new den, as far as she was concerned. The young apprentice had never lived through this season, but from what she kept hearing, it was the complete opposite of leafbare which... granted... seemed about right. What with the name and all. Feeling herself drifting between sleep and awareness, Lightningpaw's ears perked when she heard a call all of a sudden for Cowtuft. From the sounds of it, this wasn't a personal visit. More like... a kit? Wounded? Hazykit? Confusion visible on the abyssinian mix as she realized she hadn't the foggiest clue who this Hazykit was - and furious about it, seeing as how she made it a point to know who everyone in the clan was - Lightingpaw got up, stretching reluctantly before heading up to the den's main chamber. Upon arrival, the spotted molly's gaze landed on Hawksprint and an unknown kit openly annoyed at the warrior. Whiskers twitching with mild amusement at the kit's attitude, Lightningpaw approached the two of them, dark limbs lazily crossing the distance between them. Opting to sit down as to not overwhelm the already not overly enthused kitten, Lightningpaw offered a friendly blink before turning her attention upon the warrior. It seemed she had reached them before Cowtuft, which worked just fine for her. It was always good as far as she was concerned when she met up with patients before her mentor. Allowed her to clearly speak the visitor's names for the black and white tom's benefit, potentially avoiding any awkward moments, and it allowed her to more easily translate if she was here from the beginning. "Kind of you to bring this here... Hazykit, was it? Pleasure to meet you, love. Name's Lightningpaw. I'm the medicine cat apprentice here, and I promise we don't bite... much..." she mewed, remembering her last tests she'd done on Firepaw to see if a good nibble on her tail would wake her up after growing unconscious. The results had been inconclusive so far. "You doin' alright yourself, Hawksprint?" Re: WindClan Medicine Cat's Den
https://warriorcatsonline.com/forums...ictureid=39184 | Lightningpaw | Cowtuft had been swift to respond to her calls, a fact the apprentice would forever be grateful for. It did not matter what she thought of others' attentiveness when it came to the clan, her mentor had never fallen folly to such self centeredness, as she was certain he never would. After taking one look at her and Smallpaw, he was gone. Off in the direction of their herb storage. A sigh of relief escaped her. He would know how to heal Smallpaw. The small apprentice would live. Everything would be okay. A sharp yelp of pain bringing her out of her temporary, euphoric state of mind, Lightningpaw's hackles raised, calling out to Cowtuft with worry. Was he alright? Had something happened? He hadn't been fully himself since the fire... but then, neither had she. No one had. It was hard to go back to your past state when so much had changed. Gratefully, it appeared her worry had been for naught. The black and white furred giant soon appeared with a bundle of herbs at maw. Handing her a red flower, he quickly gestured, intent clear. Poppy seeds. Smallpaw needed some poppy seeds. With a nod, Lightningpaw quickly pawed at the flower, removing a single poppy seed. It was one seed for kits... two for adults. She remembered as much from her previous kit lessons. Smallpaw was no kit... but at his young age, he wasn't necessarily an adult either. And between his small size and weak state, the medicine cat apprentice feared overfeeding him one too many. A frown appeared on her face, wondering if her call was right. Truth be told, she wasn't even certain if Smallpaw was conscious or not. One at a time. Just try to go for one at a time... That's what she would do. Gingerly, the lithe calico chewed on the poppy seed for a moment before trying to feed the pseudo poppy poultice to the frail apprentice. It should be easier to down than a pristine, unchewed seed, in any case. "There you go, Smalls. Come on. You'll be al'ight. You reckon he could take a second one?" Lightningpaw asked her mentor, looking through the plentiful infected wounds on the apprentice. While she had assessed already that perhaps a second might be too much, the young molly fully understood that she was basing this on very basic knowledge with no experience to back it up. She wasn't so proud as to let her already set mind be unwilling to change if it was wrong. Especially when it wasn't her life on the line. - @x ghostie [Cowtuft] | @Small [Smallpaw] |

Hawksprint The tom was pleased to see Lightningpaw walking up to them. "I'm pretty good" He answered her. He was tired after the fire and everything with the new camp, but nothing other than that. A good night's rest and he'd feel much better. Hawksprint turned to Cowtuft as he showed up. Okay, good, he wouldn't have to go get any herbs at least. He looked at Hazykit, hoping her injuries weren't too bad. Seeing as Cowtuft let his apprentice take care of her, he assumed it probably wasn't anything too bad. Lightningpaw is very good, and so is Cowtuft. You're in safe paws" He promised Hazykit. "I'll go for now then, since there isn't anything else for me to do here and it looks like you two got everything handled" Hawksprint hoped she'd be alright. The young molly, still salty about being dragged in here, looked up as Lightningpaw approached. Hazykit felt a small, reluctant smile grow on her face as the apprentice joked. Or... it didn't sound like a joke. Whatever that was. The final member of the healing duo appeared, as he leaned close to inspect her wounds, she lowered her head and inhaled sharply, out of instinct. Nodding in response to his words, the kit shuffled her paws, looking at the ground. Hawksprint was gonna leave now? Sighing softly, she just... waited. Waited for this to be over with. So she could go back to playing alone in the clearing. [ @x ghostie @Radetzky @Alchemist Kitsune ] |
Re: WindClan Medicine Cat's Den
https://warriorcatsonline.com/forums...ictureid=39184 | Lightningpaw | With Cowtuft's appearance, Lightningpaw offered a half smirk to her mentor before he turned his attention towards the young patient, who evidently did not enjoy having any level of attention on her. Whiskers twitching in mild amusement - surely she couldn't be feeling too terrible if she had that much fight in her - Lightningpaw suddenly sobered up, focusing on the kit's movements. This didn't seem the usual sick kit that didn't want to eat the nasty, bitter herbs. This seemed... a little different. A frown furrowed her brown, but the apprentice remained quiet, allowing her mentor to evaluate the patient. Her concern abated as Cowtuft began inspecting the calico, the apprentice turned towards Hawkspring as he spoke, nodding as he began to leave. "Sure thing! Thanks for the help, Hawksprint. Don't be a stranger," she purred, waving a gentle goodbye with her tail before turning back towards the black and white tom who had begun to approach her. Large ears perking up as her mentor whispered his instructions to her, almond shaped eyes glinted with excitement. She was going to treat Hazykit, even with Cowtuft here? Beaming up at the tom's nose, she nodded, nimbly turning around as she made her way towards the herb storage. Grabbing one marigold and dandelion, the molly began heading out, only to stop and twirl on the spot, realizing she'd left the cobweb behind in her eagerness to get the materials as quickly as possible. Mouth full of herbs, she dropped the bundle besides the kit, giving her a small smile of encouragement before beginning to chew on the marigold. It was never pretty. Having to make poultices. The herbs tended to taste bad - nothing even remotely as horrid as that root though, it had been a few days and she could still taste it - the spitting them out wasn't the most pleasant of experiences, and the patients tended to only reluctantly allow themselves to have the medication placed on them. Not that she could blame them, really. As she chewed, the lithe calico turned her focus on Hazykit, looking through the smaller wounds that peppered the molly's scruff. Compared to some of the other wounds she had tended to since the fire, the kit's scrapes were positively benign. It was no reason to ignore them, however, especially with the infection evidently settling in. Finished with the marigold, Lightningpaw spat the concoction on her paw, grimacing slightly at the taste. And to think she might get used to that someday. Offering her paw gently to the kit, she signaled with her nose towards her scruff, waving the paw softly. "I'll be putting some of this on your wounds to get rid of that nasty infection. I promise it won't hurt you. If you start feeling uncomfortable, though, you let me know, a'ight? We'll make you feel good as new!" Her promise to not hurt the nervous looking kit out of the way, Lightningpaw attempted to place the marigold poultice on her wounds, slowly chewing on the dandelion as she worked. Her tongue growing ever so slightly numb as she readied it for Hazykit's injuries, she spat the yellow mush onto her paw once she was done with the marigold, careful to ensure Hazykit's approval once more before moving on with the numbing poultice. Satisfied with her work, the apprentice grabbed the cobwebs from the stick, her whiskers twitching fondly as she remembered her adventures as a kit gathering cobwebs with Cowtuft. Back then she had always assumed she'd be gathering cobwebs only to help her friend. Never would she have guessed she would be gathering cobwebs to help her patients as well. With a soft touch, the young apprentice attempted to place the final bits of her patient's treatment. The wound wasn't bleeding, which made her assume the cobwebs had a different motive this time around. This thought reminding her that Cowtuft was still in the den with them, Lightningpaw applied the finishing touches - Hazykit permitting - before assessing her work one final time. "There you go. Should be feeling spry as a hare in a few days. Won't even be able to tell you were injured," she mewed, flashing a confident grin towards the small kit. Silence following these words as she assessed what she'd just done, Lightningpaw nodded, her gaze on her mentor as she spoke once more. "Infection. Hazykit's wounds were infected from going untreated. The marigold has been used to handle the infection. The dandelions were to numb the area. As it heals, it might become scratchy, even if it is painless now. Scratching might reopen the wounds and infect them again. With this, we ensure both a painless and more comfortable recovery," she mewed, her white paw tapping at the bottom of her chin as she spoke, her expression thoughtful. "The cobwebs," she added, placing her paw down. "They are to cover the area, correct? Avoid debris and things that could irritate the wound or wash away the poultice while it does it's job. That sort of thing?" There was a hint of a question in her last sentence, insecurity finally gnawing its way through her thought process. She was fairly confident in her response, but... she really had nothing to back up her confidence only that educated guesses. Hopeful eyes daring to stare at her mentor's heterochromatic hues furrowed with mild concern as she awaited his assessment. - @x ghostie [Cowtuft] | @Radezsky [Hawksprint] | @jupiter [Hazykit] |

https://warriorcatsonline.com/forums...ictureid=39184 | Lightningpaw | Tail lashing with concern behind her, Lightningpaw entered the medicine cat's den, having just spent most of the morning talking to the remaining queens over her vanished mother. No one had seen the abyssinian mix, and the medicine cat apprentice was worried. Her wounds had been horrendous. This wasn't her first vanishing act, but with her burns, the lithe calico couldn't help but wonder if she had snuck out in the middle of the night to head back to their old territory. Try and find her brothers again. Except this time, she had low hopes for a triumphant return. Her mood low, jaw set in a determined expression that masked the sorrow brewing in her heart, Lightningpaw stopped. There were... voices? Echoing through the empty den. One was easy enough to make out. It was her mentor. The first one, however, the smaller one. The medicine cat apprentice could not recognize it. Curiosity taking over her, the wiry framed molly padded forward, poking her head into the herb storage, only to find the gentle giant positively cooing over a fluffy, pale kit. One of the few born right before the fire, maybe? Nose wrinkling as a small, sad smile gracing her face, Lightningpaw remained by the entrance, not wishing to interrupt the two at play. It had been some time since she'd heard Cowtuft speaking so joyfully. After all that had happened, he deserved a break. A pleasant visit from a cute kit. It had been some moons since she had been the one who could provide that sort of comfort. The odd visit that could take his mind away from herbs and patients. Keeping others healthy while conveniently forgetting to care for himself. Now she was a part of that herb filled world, and another reminder of his role in the clan. Shaking her head, she bounded off, making for her nest. She had things to consider. Tests to perform. Herbs to study on her quest to heal her friend. Time for mourning the loss of her mother would have to wait. For now, it would be best to do as she had been doing for the past quarter moon, and bury herself in work. - @x ghostie [Cowtuft] | @magpie. One of the patrols had taken it upon themselves to bring in the herbs themselves, and while she was grateful for the forethought, she. Liked. Her. Herbs. Where. They. Went. Taking a deep breath, the medicine cat apprentice struggled to calm herself. She was obviously getting a little restless. She'd barely left the den the past few days. Stuck inside once more, memorizing herbs, trying to find something... anything, really, to heal Milkpaw's cough. The oriental calico was certain that if she could find a cure for him, she could find a cure for many other felines in the camp that had suffered from breathing problems due to the fire. And if none were doing as bad as Milkpaw? Well, she would have knowledge for the future. Knowledge she would hopefully never need, but it was best to have it and never use it than need it and having never known what could help. Large, white ears perked up as a voice carried over, softly, towards the herb storage. It was a familiar voice, and the young molly pressed forward, curious as to who it had been. Upon reaching the entrance to the den, she found her mentor already there, giving their visitors a quiet look. Almond shaped eyes softened slightly as she noticed a familiar face with a young kit with her. No doubt Leafpelt's sole kit had managed to make it through the moon, his eyes and ears now open as he lay besides his mother. The queen hadn't seemed very eager for her help the last time, despite her weakened condition, and Lightningpaw couldn't help but wonder if there had been some more complications despite the seemingly healthy kit before them now. "Alright there, Leafpelt? I see your kit is doing well. What's your name, eh love?" Lightningpaw mewed as she walked over besides her mentor, the greeting just as much for Cowtuft's sake as it was for the queen's. Turning towards the black and white tom, she added an explanation, hoping the medicine cat remembered her report. It had been about a moon, judging by the kit's age. Time certainly seemed to fly... "This here is Leafpelt. The queen that gave birth in the clearing. Had three kits, only this little one made it." Lightningpaw kept her voice low, in a whisper for only Cowtuft to hear. She did not mind Leafpelt hearing an explanation of what had happened. The queen had been there. The kit, however, did not need to hear such horrible things at such a young age. Lightningpaw's own journey through that rabbit hole had begun at a similar age, and she sometimes felt like she still hadn't reached the finale of that fall. Upon hearing the mostly ginger tortie speak, the younger tortie and white turned curious eyes upon the little tom, noticing the leg's growth. Curiosity and concern crossed her gaze, realizing she'd never seen something like this before. She certainly hoped the little one hadn't experienced any pain because of it. With her lack of experience on the topic, however, Lightningpaw remained uncharacteristically quiet. She would follow Cowtuft's lead gladly on this. Cowtuft would know how to treat him moving forward, no doubt about it. Large ears giving a twitch of annoyance at her mentor's question, she turned to look at him, a frown already beginning to mar her features. "Apprentice's den. Can you believe it? Not a single bloody apprentice could be arsed to help him. Judging by how he looks and the stench of infection in the den, he'd been laying there for at least a full day. I know some cats are having breathing problems... but not every apprentice has their nose clogged up with smoke. How hard can it be to simply ask if the cat that sleeps besides you is alright?" she responded, going into a tangent as she felt her anger rising. "I have a right mind to march straight to Twilightstar and tell her about this... This is ridiculous, innit? You'd think all we've gone through would have made the others realize how much we need to look out for each other. Not make the same mistakes from before..." Guilt washing over her as she remembered how callously she'd left Featherfoot in a similar condition before, the lithe calico faltered, taking a deep, shaky breath in an attempt to calm herself. https://warriorcatsonline.com/forums...ictureid=39184 | Lightningpaw | Having just been done with a small round about the apprentice's den - the discovery of Smallpaw had made the calico be more than a little paranoid of leaving her clanmates without a quick checkup every so often - Lightningpaw entered the medicine cat's den, her dainty paws barely making a sound on the well treaded soil. Pausing lightly at the sound of voices, the young apprentice's ears perked, her curiosity risen as she wondered who had come for a visit... or a check up. Tail giving a light lash, Lightningpaw padded forward, her eyes getting used to the darkness as they landed on the familiar form of Cowtuft and Halfpaw. A small frown crossed her face as she turned to look at the third feline. A molly with a rough voice stood besides Halfpaw, and it took the medicine cat apprentice a moment to identify her under the lower lightning conditions. Rockshard, if she remembered correctly. A cat that Halfpaw didn't seem to be entirely pleased with being next to. As far as Lightningpaw was aware, Halfpaw was already having troubles with his mentor. She certainly hoped that the apprentice was not being bullied by this warrior now. As blunt as she'd been with the apprentice before, she held no ill will towards him, going as far as complaining to Twilightstar over the poor job his mentor had been doing thus far. She wouldn't just stand by while another apprentice had their mentoring ignored. That would not be happening on her watch. Joining the trio, the oriental mix sat besides the cowering Halfpaw, offering a playful smile at him in the hopes it would lift his mood some. "Alright there, Halfpaw? Rockshard," she added, giving a passing glance towards the molly and a nod before turning to her mentor with the same smile she'd offered Halfpaw still tugging at her lips. "Sorry if I took a bit. If I'd known we were getting company, I would have waited to carry my check ins." Expectantly, Lightningpaw turned her attention towards Halfpaw. At a glance, Rockshard looked fine, so she assumed the problem was Halfpaw himself. The apprentice always seemed to be missing from the den whenever she did her check ups, but frankly, she'd always taken that as a good thing. If he could get up and out of his nest, he could always come over here if he needed something. Assuming he was willing to come over... that was, which considering her previous experience with him, she noted it might not be something that would cross his mind. At all. Gratefully, she was always happy to translate for the black and white tom, and this time was no exception. Once the medicine cat was done explaining, Lightningpaw's nose scrunched up with interest as she followed after Cowtuft, keeping an eye on what he picked. What he did. He said he had an idea. A methodology not meant for what he was about to apply it to. Considering her own experimentations of late, she was fascinated by this process. Mintkit's whine reminding her of the patient, she quickly focused on the little one, providing an encouraging smile as she dipped her head, cooing softly and letting the kit know everything would be alright. It seemed the fear had been momentary, however, as the young feline quickly ceased complaining, no pain evident by gesture or expression alike. It seemed Mintkit was a bit on the shyer side... or far too young to know how to speak still, as no response came once Cowtuft was done. Lightningpaw's assessment of the kit did not provide any clues as to discomfort being present, so she remained quiet as she lifted herself once more, sitting gently besides the kit, tapping her tail close to the little cat in an attempt to distract Mintkit from any potential nerves. Some kits tended to love the idea of pouncing on unsuspecting, twitching tails, after all. Turning towards Leafpelt, Lightningpaw nodded, more to herself than anything. It was good to see the queen doing so well herself, but after how weak she had been during her birth, the young calico couldn't help but fret a little as to her own well being. "It seems Mintkit is proper taken care of now. No discomfort so far, but please feel free to come back should you need anything," the apprentice mewed easily, suddenly remembering herself and casting a half apologetic, half questioning glance towards her mentor. She knew he wasn't the biggest fan of talking, so she hoped she hadn't overstepped any boundaries here by taking the lead and translating for him should he wish to say anything. "What of you?" Lightningpaw added, shifting her attention back towards the queen. "I know the birth was... complicated. Have you been feeling alright? No bouts of weakness or dizziness? Appetite doing good?" she asked, a hint of concern in her voice. The queen hadn't been around, and she had heard nothing concerning her health being in peril from the other queens, so she assumed everything was doing good. But still, one could never be too cautious. - @x ghostie [Cowtuft] | @Light000 [Leafpelt - Mintkit] |

https://warriorcatsonline.com/forums...ictureid=39184 | Lightningpaw | Her mentor's calming words soothed her guilt ridden heart of some weight, gratitude clear in her expression as she offered a small, half smile that lacked the usual cheek it carried. And she had brought Smallpaw in. She hadn't left him to fester in his own loneliness and wounds. Not like she'd done for Featherfoot. Taking a deep breath, Lightningpaw let go of it shakily, knowing there was nothing more to do here but wait. She would pay close attention to Smallpaw for now. And then chew his ears off for not coming over later. She would make sure to be extra obnoxious, just so he would think twice before pulling a stunt like this. For now, all she could do was think about was Cowtuft's offer. When was the last time the medicine cat apprentice had gone out simply to admire the clouds in the sky? It had been some time, hadn't it? Back in the old camp. With a kit that no longer walked the moors with them. Perhaps lost in the flames. A part of her wondered if that was why she hadn't been able to take part in such simple, delightful pleasures. The memories of those gone that were still attached. Still lingered as ghosts. Tainting activities that had once seemed so blissfully calm. She couldn't do this to herself, though. Couldn't wallow in misery at every life lost. How many had it been now, at this point in time? More than the moons she'd been alive. And with plenty more to come. There would be nothing but darkness in her future if she didn't give herself time to just... relax. Enjoy time amongst the living. With a nod, Lightningpaw twitched her whiskers. "Sounds proper nice. Thanks, Tufty." - @x ghostie [Cowtuft] | @Small [Smallpaw] |
Re: WindClan Medicine Cat's Den
Leafpelt listened as the apprentice talked. ''I had no complications since Mintkit was born'' The she meowed, she heard Mintkit pouncing weakly on Lightingpaw's tail. ''So, just a question, do I have to take care of something else about my kit? Or I'll just raise glow like any other kit?'' Leafpelt asked, tilting her head. It was the first time she had a problem like that with any kit and she wanted the best for Mintkit

Re: WindClan Medicine Cat's Den
https://warriorcatsonline.com/forums...ictureid=39184 | Lightningpaw | Clearing up her nest, Lightningpaw padded at the moss and feathers that composed her soft sleeping area, removing any debris. It was easy to see why some cats preferred using twigs in their nests, what with them holding their shape better that way. The lithe calico had plenty of trouble sleeping already, however, and she would honestly prefer to not add casually getting jabbed with a twig in the middle of the night to the repertoire of things that already made sleep such an elusive creature to her. An unfamiliar voice slowly trickled down to the medicine cat's sleeping quarters, perking her large ears as she turned her gaze upwards. Just when she thought she'd memorized everyone in the clan, it always seemed like she was meeting a new face in some way. Curiosity getting the better of her, she padded towards what she had slowly been getting to know as the greeting chamber, meeting up with none other than the leader and a molly she wasn't familiar with. Nose twitching as she scented the air, she would be lying if she said she recognized the scent of the stranger. That said, if Twilightstar had brought this feline here, she assumed it was a friend of the clan or a new member... perhaps even a cat who had returned? There had been a few like that of late, if she recalled correctly. Coming out to the dim light afforded by the entrance of the chamber, Lightningpaw dipped her head respectfully at the leader, offering a playful smile at her companion in turn. She'd learned by now that a cheerful disposition seemed to make patients more at ease if they were in any way nervous. It seemed the mere idea of stepping foot in this den brought fear to even some of the most hardened of warriors, or at least a modicum of caution. "Alright there, Twilightstar?" the medicine cat apprentice mewed in her usual, chipper tone, making sure to state the leader's name clearly. She doubted her mentor would be unable to tell who the leader was, but if he could make out her voice, it would get any small pause of doubt on his behalf out of the way for his sake. Turning to the other molly, she continued. "'Fraid I haven't the pleasure of meeting you 'fore? Name's Lightningpaw. I'm WindClan's medicine cat apprentice," the young molly introduced herself, almond shaped eyes already on the stranger's form, catching sight of a few injuries that were plain to the eye. The most obvious was her front left leg, broken and in obvious need of care. She had seen Cowtuft use a splint before in an attempt to help with a twisted leg, but she had never set a bone before. As eager as the wiry framed she-cat was to help, she would rather get the expert in and take her more comfortable position as helper. The patient's well being seemed far more important than her getting paws on experience on how to set a broken leg. Some of the gashes on her face were not looking particularly pleasant, either, and she was quite surprised the stranger was holding on as well as she was. Then again, some warriors and apprentices had proved to her already that the stubbornness of not showing your ailments to the general public seemed to permeate just about ever cat she'd met; herself included. With a look of inquiry after her initial assessment, she turned a curious look at Twilightstar, whiskers twitching with unspoken questions. - @Moonraven [Twilightstar] | @x ghostie [Cowtuft] | @Estelle [Hailpaw] |

Mintkit limped and laid down on her mother's paws, the blind queen noded at Cowtuft ''I will return if there is any complication'' She mewed before grabbing her kit from the scruff, ''Thank you'' She purred to the medicine cats before leaving the med den
