Moonmeadow
| She/they | ShC warrior | Moons: 21 | Purrks: Shadow Fiend |

Moonmeadow finished cleaning through their fur with just a few licks before getting to their paws with a heavy sigh. The feline was tired of mentors shirking on their duties and leaving behind their apprentices, Moonmeadow could never even imagine doing such a thing to Scratchpaw and Shadowpaw, which the only reason on why she had started training Shadowpaw was because the young molly’s original mentor ditching her. Ugh, what a mess. She was sick of it and finally decided to just step up and try and shoulder the dead weight by offering classes and lessons as needed for the apprentices and sometimes even kits of Shadowclan. Someone needed to and the feline couldn’t just leave it to Hawkbite, poor guy is probably constantly on his paws and deserved a break. She made her way steadily to the apprentices’ den where she poked their head in and called for Willowpaw. Through a trail of words, Moonmeadow had heard that the apprentice needed a tour of the territory and was also searching for some lessons on stealth which were both things Moonmeadow was more than capable of doing.

Willowpaw! Hey, kiddo!” The warrior greeted cheerfully, carefully swaying their large tail behind them as they continued, “I heard that you were looking for a tour and some lessons which I can totally help out with!” The warrior had some experience giving out tours now that she had her own apprentices and figured it would be a good start. Weaving through the territory to the Windclan border, hitting a few landmarks on the way there, before walking to the Riverclan border, then Thunderclan border and finishing up with some last few landmarks and heading back to camp. Perhaps they could head down to Moonlit Grotto after the tour as it's sure to be dark by then, for some stealth and night hunting. The excitement of teaching all that they know floods through and courses under the thrum of blood through their body. They were so happy to teach, the confusion of the neglectful mentors came again but they ignored it and walked Willowpaw through the plans for the day.

We’ll start with the Windclan border, then the Riverclan border, then lastly the Thunderclan border. I’ll be sure to point out any landmarks on the way. Then afterwards we can head to some of the general territory to practice some stealth and night hunting. How does that sound?” The feline waited for the apprentice to answer, round ears up, and paws carefully held beneath them as they stilled the excited jitters that were previously running across her fur.

Willowpaw
| ShadowClan Apprentice | 7 Moons | She/Her, Female |
| Kitty soft paws [inactive] | Heightened Perception [smell] |

The apprentice's head shot up, startled, as her name was called. Her unprepared ears as listened carefully as they could to the Warrior at the entrance of the den, straining. Her heart gleefully jumped. Training! Finally! She brightened visibly at the Warriors words, and quickly got up from where she'd been lounging around. Willowpaw shook out her fur, that was ruffled from the moss bedding of her nest. ´´Uhm, erm, Y-Yes, I-I do need some training,´´ She mewed quietly. She stifled a small smile of delight as she went over where they'd be going, thought she felt her pelt prickle uncomfortably as she said they'd be going by the Thunderclan border. She stood straight, trying to force a serious and dignified expression on her face, which for the most part worked, but the excited face underneath leaked through the mask of deference in a few places. ´´Th-That sounds, uh, that sounds great!´´ She answered softly.

Her paws were doing the buzzing thing again. Seemingly vibrating like a bugs wings on the inside, like cart wheels on a bumpy gravel road. Begging her to jump or move or do anything to satisfy its need for motion. But she remained still, shaking it off inwardly; she would look like some kit if she submitted to her paws requests. ´´Oh, and, uhm, wh-whats y-your name?´´

Moonmeadow
| She/they | ShC warrior | Moons: 21 | Purrks: Shadow Fiend |

Oh dear! How did they forget to introduce themself? Moonmeadow gave a chuckle, "Seems I got a bit ahead of myself there, my name is Moonmeadow." The apprentice seemed to be excited about traing at least which was a good sign. Like Moonmeadow always says, no point teaching the unteachable, the only cat unteachable are cats who don't want to learn. The warrior reached to gently ruffle the apprentice with a grin, but made sure to give Willowpaw the time to move away if she didn't really like touch. After, the warrior was quick to start off towards the camp's exit making sure that the apprentcie was following behind them with a glance of sickly green eyes.

It didn't take too long to get to the first destination for Moonmeadow to explain. The warrior slowed to a stop and motioned for Willowpaw to do the same. "We are officially in Shadow's Break! This here is nearby to the Icy Heartlands! Make sure to keep an eye out for any brambles because they like to grow thick around these parts." The warrior bounded forward a few bounces, stopping again by the stream before closing her eyes and taking a dramatic inhale of air. Scenting for the bountiful prey that was only going to grow more abundant as the rest of the iciness of leaf bare fully gave way to new leaf. Moonmeadow opened her eyes and sat down, gesturing for the apprentice to take a seat in front of her.

"I want you to try and pick out as many unique scents as you can. Even ones you can't quite name." The warrior encouraged with a cheerful grin. Having Willowpaw interact with each new landmark and border would do well to help the molly to remember and remain interested in the lesson. Shadow's Break was known for its hunting grounds so it made for the best landmark to play her scent game. Moonmeadow waited patiently for the apprentice, letting the young molly take her time to take apart the air around her.

Willowpaw
| ShadowClan Apprentice | 7 Moons | She/Her, Female |
| Kitty soft paws [inactive] | Heightened Perception [smell] |

She trailed behind Moonmeadow, taking a look over her shoulder every so often, until they reached a small clearing that broke through the cover of conifers. She settled down in front of Moonmeadow, as they tasked her with sniffing things out. She nodded, and carefully lifted her nose up, and opened her maw slightly to take in more scents. There was a lot of things here, she noticed, and not just a stream, mushrooms and brambles. ´´I-I smell..... herbs, uhm, some prey, and i smell water from th-the stream. Er, theres frog, and th-then a billion other th-things I don't know about,´´ She mewed, still focusing on the scents around her.

Now that she was concentrated on them, all of the scents felt a little overwhelming. The bitter scent of pine was layered over all the others, and a scared mouse scurried somewhere in the undergrowth. There was a panicked vole shuffling around near the water, and a curious bird watching from the trees above, hiding in the branches. The stream was were the odour and fragrance reeked the most, and it felt like if she were right in front of the trickling water her nose would just stop existing and disappear. The herbs were the best and worst scents in the clearing. The aroma of the plants could smell really, really, really good. Or it could smell like actual dung. There was one plant, that made her want to crawl up and just pass out for a season or two. It smelled like all the bad smells in the world combined into one singular plant and then a badger made dirt on it. ´´Th-Theres, uhm, theres a lot by the stream, and the plants smell decent, theres a mouse, bird, vole and maybe something else, and theres just too many scents to count,´´ She mewed, repeating what she'd thought, nose scrunched.
[Heightened Perception has been used! well, technically its perma active ;-;]

Moonmeadow
| She/they | ShC warrior | Moons: 21 | Purrks: Shadow Fiend |

Moonmeadow nodded, she could understand being over whelmed by new smells, they remembered leaving camp for the first couple times it almost gave her a headache. Though it was quite the nose that this little warrior had on her, Moonmeadow grinned again, "That's good! It's good to recognize that you have more than just your eyes especially in the barer seasons." The warrior stood up with a soft little hop, acting more like an apprentice than the actual apprentice was but it was all in good fun. Being all work no play lead to sad old cats, which just wouldn't do, Moonmeadow could hardly even think of herself being a grumpy cat like that. The feline blinked her sickly green eyes again before motioning for the apprentice to be at her side again as she padded past the clearing. Onto the next stop...

The warrior hummed a song to themself as they led through the territory, sometimes pointing out some of the odder smells in the air, like the moist damp smell that came with areas that liked to had some herbs, and the strange smell that seemed to follow moss and lichen. Just little things that Moonmeadow has picked up in their time as a warrior and apprentice for that matter. It was their apprentice years when they started to lose their eyes and it was when they gained a new appreciation for the scents and her whiskers. After a fair bit of her rambling about nothing, the warriors finally stopped as they made it to their next destination. The soil beneath their paws have started to turn all soggy, " Lookie here, as you'll see around us our next destination is none other than the Croaking Swamp." The warrior motioned around the warrior-apprentice pair, "Between all of the wet mud and the oh so welcoming slosh of soggy soil, you'll hear the sing song of toads and frogs, what a festive place amiright?" Moonmeadow spoke with a playful sarcasm, the warrior didn't mind the swamp but she knew that it took an acquired taste to tolerate the feel of mud seeping between your toes and into your pelt no matter how thick.

"We'll pass by, not through, but the deeper you go the marshy-er it seems to get so keep that in mind, on the bright side though all sorts of frogs can be found which is a personal favorite of mine." They would hit the Windclan border next. Then go to the marsh's front side where they'll reach the Icy Heartlands next.
[ Note: For simplicity's sake, we'll be going over the Windclan border and say that this was before the mink announcement? Or if you don't want that I can edit this post and we'll head straight to the Icy Heartlands. ]

Willowpaw
| ShadowClan Apprentice | 7 Moons | She/Her, Female |
| Kitty soft paws [inactive] | Heightened Perception [smell] |

As the ground beneath her paws began slowly turning mushy and muddy, Willowpaw had a feeling she'd be a good chunk less clean by the time they were done with this stop. Croaking Swamp is bit icky, She thought as Moonmeadow stated the name of the landmark cheerfully. As the Warrior circled around, she mewed a quiet agreement that the place sounded like it was brimming with life, and with a look around, it was obvious it was well with plants, "Uhm, yep. Lots of- err, lots of sounds," Though the frogs and toads were having a singing showdown for the grand prize of two bugs, she was practically having a battle to the death with all of the smells surrounding them. Moonmeadow seemed impossibly undisturbed by the abundance of horrible smells, and they actually seemed to enjoy it here.

She was saved from having to sacrifice her poor nose to the swamps when Moonmeadow said they'd be skirting around the edges to the WindClan border. She hoped they'd be skipping over it, too. She'd heard something about minks over there, and from the sound of it they weren't very friendly, and she didn't want to get beaten up by them, whatever minks were. "Uhm, could we c-could we hop over th-the WindC-Clan border?" She mewed with a hopeful glint in her voice. While waiting for a response, she took the short moment she had to pay some more attention to the land around her. She focused on the smells, then she immediately regretted it. She quickly focused back on another sense, the smell of the marsh would be stuck with her for a while now. It felt like the swamp was trying to choke her with scents, all flooding around her like they were curious about the new-comer. The mosquitoes were extremely annoying, and she'd already swatted around 10 away from herself, and many more were sure to come in they're place. The buzzing, croaking, smells, and mud were overwhelming, like small needles to her ears and nose. Each second she began longing more and more to leave the swamp, and she felt like maybe never coming back here again was a pretty good idea. She yanked her attention from the million scents (Or at least tried to), and back to the tour and Moonmeadow.
(Yeah prob best to avoid the windclan border)

Moonmeadow
| She/they | ShC warrior | Moons: 21 | Purrks: Shadow Fiend |

Moonmeadow stopped and stared at the apprentice for a few moments in a bout of silent confusion. Why wouldn't she- oh, oh! Oh right, the ban on the Windclan border, how could they just forget something so important like that. It seemed she was running a bit too much on auto pilot with this tour, he gave a soft sigh and with a less cheery tone than usual spoke to the apprentice, "Right, the ban...the umm," the minks, she didn't say it, "Right, well, I forgot about that for a second, so used to doing that next, that I guess I just...yeah, anyways, then to the Icy Heartlands, follow me!" The warrior was back to her usual positive demeanor after the brief slip up. Skirting around the swamp, Moonmeadow began to pad through the different and vast environments of the Shadowclan territory when more trees began to pop up. Some of them were older looking than others and some seemed on their last...legs? roots? Well not great.

Moonmeadow stopped the duo in a clearing and motioned around them with a swoop of her great tail, "Welcome to the Icy Heartlands! Prey is pretty alright and cobwebs are found a plenty here." She smiled, trying to forget the minks and their looming threat but the thoughts had her expression being a bit more strained than she wanted and so she turned away swiftly. Not wanting the apprentice to notice their falter in mood, Moonmeadow filled the air with more rambling. "The Icy Heartlands was named after one of Shadowclan's past leaders, Icestar! That's pretty neat, in my opinion at least." The warrior spoke out as she padded forward, they always liked hearing about Shadowclan's past so maybe Willowpaw was the same? The feline stopped walking again just a tail length away, turning back to glance at Willowpaw and wait to see if she had any questions or if they should just move to the next spot.

| 7 Moons | ShadowClan Apprentice | Female, She/Her | Purrks:
Kitty Soft Paws, Heightened Perception [smell]
[a small tortoiseshell she-cat with pale green eyes]
||__________________________________________||

The first thing she saw.
Big, spooky tree.
That was a pretty big no-go, those trees looked scary.
They were just cobwebs, as Moonmeadow said. But they were all knit together in the trees, and there were a few random patches that seemed to have emerged from nowhere.
And it was named after a former Leader.
She wondered if this place reminded those who were close to him that he was gone.
They probably didn't come here often then

Her eyes landed on the cobweb trees again.
She felt
scared.
Something could easily hide in the thick of cobwebs.
If she squinted hard enough, she thought she could see little black lines that were mingling around the cobwebs.
Either those were just little bugs in the trees.
Or something else.
"Uhm, is there anything in th-those trees?"
She squeaked.
She had to stop herself from cringing.
Her tone was like a mouse discovering claws for the first time.

As she recovered from the weird squeal she'd made, she remarked that Moonmeadow seemed untroubled by the clearly dangerous trees, seeming much to cherry for the landmark they were in.
Moonmeadow always seemed a bit hyperactive, if she was gonna be honest.
They seemed impossibly fine with the swamp, the weird trees, and they'd probably still be cheerful if there was a skulk of growling foxes in front of her.
She respected that.

She went back to observing the trees with wary eyes, the little creatures were still there.

Willowpaw’s voice caught them a bit off guard, the poor thing sounded terribly frightened and the warrior turned to glance at the young molly with concern. Then following Willowpaw’s question, her sickly green eyes turned to the cobweb trees and then sighed softly, they were a bit frightening they suppose. “The cobweb trees don’t really have much life at all, besides the odd caterpillar here and there. Sometimes birds will perch but nothing all that scary.” The warrior spoke reassuringly, or at least tried to sound reassuring. Next on their list after the Icy Heartlands is none other than the Mourning Ruins, but maybe the pair should go to the Sunkissed Creek instead. Don’t want to frighten Willowpaw anymore by going from scary forest to burned ruins. Yep, the creek first, then a border, then the ruins. That sounded like a plan. The warrior gently nudged the apprentice to start walking with her, Moonmeadow remained by her side.

The warrior began to lead the apprentice away from the trees and padded through the terrain of Shadowclan before finally coming across the Sunkissed Creek. Moonmeadow as per usual started with a little spiel of the place as they stopped walking. "This here is the Sunkissed Creek! Pretty good for prey and the likes but has a nasty habit of getting predators for some reason." Moonmeadow wasn't sure why herself to be completely honest. They just like it here they guess, well they like it here so maybe that counts for something. Nothing too special besides that. They weren't sure of any games that would work for this place so Moonmeadow just let the apprentice take in the new area before they moved along to the next spot.

She nodded sheepishly, she'd just practically had her tail fall off in fear because of a few caterpillars! Stars, the useful cat she was going to be. She took one, final, long squint at the trees, she felt like she could now hear the caterpillars. She could certainly see them. Her whiskers twitched in front of her narrowed eyes, and she turned to Moonmead- she hopped up with a tiny yelp, and looked frantically around. She spotted Moonmeadow, already within the pines of ShadowClan's territory, fading to a silhouette. She scrabbled after her, pathetically tripping at one point. She'd fallen quite far behind from the Warrior.

She could smell the creek before she heard it. She followed Moonmeadow, and soon she was within sight of a body of water. It wasn't rushing as fast as she thought water would be. It was slow -sluggish even-, it seemed peaceful; safe. She liked this landmark, just from its first impresson. Her ears flicked to Moonmeadow.... Wait. This place was a literal hive for predators?? Everything had to have something terrifying about it, didn't it? There was probably a whole championship on who could have the most scary things between landmarks! And every year's winner would probably do a-a- a victory dance or something! "Uhm, uh, are there- uh, pre-preda? About the- they- are? N-n-nevermind," she stammered, but she'd lost her trail of word. Her mind was cooking (She should stop letting it do that), and it was cooking big. It thought it was such a brilliant and masterful idea not even the master-est of masterminds could master its mastering. She should go eat the water! Yes, eat it, not drink. And what was she gonna do? She was still embarrassed from her last talking fail. "C-Could we- Could we, er, th-the water? Stop by the water?" She wasn't sure where that came from, last time she checked she didn't have a library of random questions. But luckily the chosen one to ask wasn't too bad, and she could maybe learn something by the creek. She was a few tail-lengths fro the water itself, and she wasn't about to go squabbling over to the clearly deadly and fatal creek without a warriors permission.

Moonmeadow nodded at the young molly's words, "Sure thing kiddo, this is a nice stop to take a little break. After you're ready to go again, our next stop is the first border that we'll be checking out! Herondive Hollow." The warrior explained as she waited for the apprentice to give the all clear to leave. The poor thing seems terrified, which they suppose makes sense. They did just go through the Icy Heartlands, which younger folks tend to think of as spooky and also the predator comment about the Sunkissed Creek can be a bit startling. Though it seemed that it was all cleared out currently. Moonmeadow joined the apprentice by the water, not sure what was so interesting about it. Sunkissed Creek had nothing to worry about in Moonmeadow's opinion but they have always been on the less fearful side of things, rushing head first into stuff that she probably shouldn't have but that was just the -meadow way. Once Willowpaw gave them the all clear, Moonmeadow began to lead the way to the Thunderclan border.

Herondive Hollow was an interesting place for lack of better words. Dark and forested with a creek running down it. Moonmeadow would like the border more if it was more useful, the land was dried and now there wasn't a whole lot left prey wise and Moonmeadow didn't know enough herb stuff to know if it was useful in that sense. So to them it was just a border. "This is Herondive Hollow, tell me what you notice about it?" The warrior spoke curiously. It was always interesting to see what apprentices notice first about territory that warriors have grown so used to that they don't see the little things anymore. It's a nice reminder to step back and see things a bit differently. Moonmeadow wanted for the answer to their question before getting into her little story time about the border.

Kitty Soft Paws, Heightened Perception [smell]
[a small tortoiseshell she-cat with pale green eyes]

She watched the water intently with large, green eyes, it was her first time decently close to a body of water larger than a puddle. It was sort of fascinating.
Now, for that genius, brilliant, outstandingly bright sparky idea Willowpaw was currently unknowing of.
She suddenly felt she could go for a lap of water right now. After hesitating, she slowly bent her head down to the gently flowing water, and tentatively took a sip. That wasn't too bad- oh wait nevermind. Now she was trying to... something? She felt like jerking her head away from the water, but she'd look like she was scared of it. Scared? Couldn't be her! As she somehow drank water wrong (Why am i doing this? I know how to drink it normally~?), she accidentally took a small breath, and now she finally yanked her snout up - sputtering. She went red with embarrassment, wasn't she the one who knew how to do basic everyday things, eh? Still occasionally coughing from her attempted but not planned breath underwater, she stood up from her crouch, and shook herself. Her hex-double-F-quadruple-zero-ing face aimed to the ground. She cleared her sore throat, "Uhm..... n-n-next st-sT-S- COUGH- st-stop?" She mewed quietly.

She was a low hanging, abashed shadow behind the Warrior leading towards the next Landmark. This time it was a border, she could tell by the scents of other not-ShadowClan cats keeping pretty strictly to the other side of an invisible wall. She nodded as Moonmeadow gave her the task of telling them what she saw about it. She stood still for a flash, ears swiveling and eyes searching. "Theeere's a-a decently sm-small st-stream, o-or a nar-narrow river, I-I think," She reported, "A-And its very...... dry, uhm, h-here." She paused. She was uneasy about the other clan's scent, or rather the fact she didn't know who it belonged to. For all she knew, it could be the border to a hidden Arch Nemesis or something. Her judging eyes went over to where they're territory seemed to come to an end with a clash to the other clan's land. That bush over there could be hiding whatever the forest had to offer, could leap out from its cover and kill her. Something could drop from the trees and land a headshot, firmly knocking her out. Her voice felt like it was hiding a small dagger of you-have-just-been-cursed-to-die-by-stutters-okbyenow, ready to stab at her at any moment, and right now she didn't feel like half-evaporating of cringe because she heard her own speech falter. She shied away from asking questions, an added bonus that she wouldn't look too nosy. She plopped herself down into a sitting position, as at this point her legs were starting to tire, feeling like they'd give out from beneath her any second. She turned to Moonmeadow, hoping they'd tell something good about this place for a change of the currently spooky-scary pace.

Moonmeadow gave the apprentice a small nod as they listened to Willowpaw list off their observations. That was good, that was very good. “Yep, that’s good! I think it used to be a swamp but it’s gotten pretty dry.” It was just another one of this moon’s endless trivia. Moonmeadow liked figuring out things about Shadowclan’s history and she liked spreading that knowledge to others, especially apprentices as they are usually the most eager to learn. Usually, scratchpaw comes to mind, he hadn’t done much after arriving and Moonmeadow has a feeling that anytime now he was going to disappear. No need to think so negatively though! Onto the next thing! Moonlit grove, the ruins, and then the last border. This was going to be a breeze. “Alright, onto our last three stops and then it's back to camp for us!” Moonmeadow explained as they turned toward the direction of the grove.

They walked through the terrain with a hum and a skip to their pawstep, most people might frown with the ‘disrespect’ given to such a place but in Moonmeadow’s opinion it wasn’t like cats suddenly became no fun allowed after death. At least, they knew for a fact that their mother would prefer that Moonmeadow not act like hunting mice around her grave, Moonmeadow talked to her mother now the same way she did before. The warrior got her fun-loving type personality straight from her mother, the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree Moonmeadow supposes. After entering the thick trees, it blocked out most of the light and Moonmeadow slowed to a stop, “This is Moonlit Grove. It’s where the dead lay to rest, hunting here is not allowed unless Dawnstar herself tells you otherwise. Herbs flourish here though.” The warrior paused and allowed the apprentice to take in the scene and ask any initial questions she may have.

This place looked alright. It looked pretty and it was nice and dense and cozy and lots of plants and smelled pretty good. But she''d learned from her past mistakes. There was gonna be something absolutely bone-chilling about this place. Just as she'd thought that, Moonmeadow said that Moonlit Grove was A GRAVEYARD. THERE WAS PROBABLY A DEAD CAT.
RIGHT
BELOW
HER PAWS.
She bristled. 'No wonder this place is forbidden to hunt at! She thought, 'Anyone who tries to kill anything will probably get- get possessed by two thousand hundred thrity-four spirits or something!' She could be getting possessed RIGHT NOW! Should she start begging for mercy to the ghosts?? The smartest thing to do would be that, of course! But she'd look like a bird. But like, a stupid bird. Maybe a dumb tree was more fitting. "Th-they aren't, like, right here, right now. A-Are they?" She hadn't mentioned who, but Moonmeadow must know. Surely they must feel the vibe of this whole place, right? But maybe Moonmeadows own cheerful vibes would rule out the Groves' though.....
Oof, if that was the case, then she was looking like she had her pupils crossed.

Uhhhhh... who was here right now? Was Willowpaw talking about the corpses or was she talking about ghosts or something or someone else? Moonmeadow wasn't actually that sure but for the first two, yes, there are probably spirits visiting and also there were corpses here but neither are something to be scared of. It wasn't like they weren't friends. Oftentimes cats that were enemies did not have the luxury of being buried in Moonlit Grove. At least, none to Moonmeadow's knowledge. And also to Moonmeadow's knowledge cats don't change after death. They are just dead. That's all. So fearing spirits is as silly as fearing the very same clanmates you share a camp with, at least in this feline's opinion. Her hazy green eyes moved across the dark space and then back to Willowpaw as the warriors worked to put her words into order and didn't end up rambling too much. "Well, uh, if you mean corpses, yeah. They are laid to rest here. If you meant ghosts, also yes, but they are your ancestors, your clanmates. Death doesn't change that, the cats buried here are friends just as they were in life."

With that Moonmeadow allowed Willowpaw more time to ask anymore follow up questions before she nodded to signal that the pair needed to start moving again. They were almost done, just the mourning ruins and then the last border and tada! Done and done and Willowpaw can scratch the ol' touring off the list. Moonmeadow wondered how the kid's other training was going for her. Hopefully well, training the youth was important to Moonmeadow. Well, that meant onto the next thing. The warrior hummed again, it was her go-to when it came to filling empty noise, the warrior didn't like silence very much and soon they came across the burnt remains of the Twoleg nest. It has certainly seen better days but the old thing has only brought along good hunting for Moonmeadow so she supposed there was beauty in everything if tried to see the positive.

"This here is the Mourning Ruins. An old Twoleg nest that burned moons ago, it killed a couple o' cats as it went down, hence its name. Though recently the thing has started bringing prey so it isn't all bad." The warrior explained as she allowed Willowpaw time to ask anything or explore a bit. It was a little routine for each spot and she hoped that Willowpaw didn't mind the lack of games that Moonmeadow had for every spot. Her green eyes moved around, as if taking in the sight again for the first time. It was a strange place, of sad origins, but that didn't mean it couldn't find new light. It just takes some time is all.

She'd nod, though on the inside, Willowpaw still thought that some wheezing elder would do some voodoo-magic and start crawling out from its grave. Or something like that. She herself knew that was irrational, but to her mind it was the truth, if maybe a little wonky. 'But... you don't look the same after death. Something caused you're death. Won't you be grumpy about it? Angry? Sad?' She'd think, 'Wouldn't you act different in some way?'. She'd not mention that, but it still lurked in the shadows of her mind as they began traveling to they're next destination. She'd wrap her tail around herself as the wrecked ruins of the Twoleg nest came into full-view. Nothing about this was appealing, and there was nothing to lure her into thinking this might be a nice little place to stay at. Willowpaw eyed the cogs that grew off the main building, and she'd momentarily ponder what it was used for. Mourning Ruins. She'd think that was a pretty fitting name, and almost had to hold back a shiver. "An old Twoleg nest that burned moons ago. It killed a couple of cats as it came down". That sentence should've been enough to make Willowpaw pass out. Now that she thought about it, there was probably a lot of things that'd make her pass out, or want too at least. She'd try to imagine this place lit on fire, all while cats were still inside the nest. Willowpaw almost couldn't with how beat down it looked, how'd the fire get its self spreading there? Did it climb over there? That no longer spinny cog thing would've probably been tasty for fire? But mostly, the thought of cats dying trapped inside the nest lit aflame with no way to get out... But er, at least prey was starting to rejuvenate near here? She'd still not have a cell about her understand how Moonmeadow was not completely spooked out from the, you know? Big spooky once-burning-everyone-to-death broken down water-cog-holding Twoleg nest?? She was pretty sure Moonmeadow had nerves of steel or something. She'd realize she was probably waiting for her to ask a question or two. That didn't count as like, really weird? She hadn't been staring, had she?? She didn't normally stare! Did she even stare in the first place? Did Moonmeadow think staring was really weird and not normal? What did Moonmeadow think of her? Her mind would keep on spinning in a little circle of 'Did i do that? Thats really bad but did i do this?' and after maybe having three threads of thought at the same time, she mewed, "I-It won't burn a-again. R-Right?"

Stars, this little molly seemed about scared of life at this rate, or actually.... Moonmeadow thought about it and realized that a lot of Shadowclan's territory and its history made for the perfect kit scary story doesn't it? Hmm, well still, Willowpaw would get used to it, after all it was home despite the occasional critter it was completely safe. Kept safe with each and every border patrol and each and every warrior, enforcer, and high rank alike watched over it. It was a good home and Moonmeadow wouldn't change it for the world. Then onto the apprentice's question. Will it burn again? Not very likely and if it did it would be a ways off, not likely that it would catch twice. Besides the first fire didn't leave much fuel for a second one so it wouldn't last very long. Her hazy green eyes went to the apprentice and Moonmeadow tried to give her a reassuring smile, "Nah, not likely to catch twice, and if it did the flames wouldn't be the same strength. Not a lot left to burn, would likely die out just as quickly as it started. Only one last stop and it won't be so spooky." The warrior spoke and brushed her tail against the apprentice to nudge her into moving.

Soon enough they were coming up onto their last stop of the Saltmeadow Marsh, back into the wonderful mud. How delightful, usually Moonmeadow didn't mind the mud and they didn't really earlier but they realized that it was going to be a pain to clean up before she went to sleep and that was annoying her a bit. Nothing they could do about it though and through the shrubs they padded on with Willowpaw until the border came into view and the warrior motioned to the swampy-marshy area. "Saltmeadow Marsh, this is out border with Riverclan." Moonmeadow didn't really have anything to share about this location so she didn't say much else and rather waited for the apprentice and if she had any questions just as she has before. Her green hazy eyes shifting around the area before coming to rest on Willowpaw in wait. Soon they would head back to camp, or if Willowpaw needed anymore training they could take a swipe at getting that done as well.

She was pretty thrilled as Moonmeadow said they're next stop wouldn't be so scary as basically all the other ones. She'd had enough scares for one day. Soon the ground was turning slushier with mud, and her trot ('Er, if you could call it that) shifted into a stumble. So this was Saltmeadow Marsh. It seemed pretty quiet and peaceful, and she thought she could hear water rushing somewhere in the background. The only threats she knew about were here were RiverClan and predators. That was a record, wasn't it? Also, speaking of RiverClan, "R-RiverClan doesn't, uhm, t-trespass often, i-i think? Right?"

[Yep, we did plan on battle training, and lets keep that lesson a bit more brief!
short post because eepy//]

Moonmeadow wasn't so sure as he responded to the apprentice's question, "Riverclan doesn't seem to be much of anything, but that can mean they are too weak to worry about or a wild card that needs to be feared. They seemed to sound pretty beat up based on what Bumblestar said a gathering or so ago." She looked across the border a bit longer before turning away and motioning for the apprentice to follow behind as they walked deeper into Shadowclan's territory and therefore safer territory. They weren't actually too sure why that border suddenly felt off, dangerous, when he ahsn't before. Maybe the apprentice's question reminded the warrior of the situation with Riverclan. Or at least as reported by Bumblestar, who knows if that's a biased report or not. Though Riverclan has been dangerous and uncontrolled for a long while now. It almost made Moonmeadow pity them, or more so the kids, they didn't deserve to be born into such a hot mess. But not Shadowclan's problem and therefore not really Moonmeadow's.

"So then kiddo, any other training plans?" The warrior offered starting to conversation again, not liking the sudden silence they had lapsed into. Moonmeadow liked helping with training. Though things should probably happen quicker for any additional training as it was starting to get a bit late and Willowpaw may be a bit tired from walking around the whole territory.

She felt very very happy that the spooky was over. Spooky was gone! Scary was no more! Everything was in perfect harmony (except for this and that and that and this and almost anything you can think of)! So they had another lesson. This one couldn't be too bad, right? She did some tracking of her own training. She could remember all of her lessons pretty clearly: mostly because they involved her being very very very scared. So now all their was left was- OH GOSH NO WHYYYY- Battle Training. If you didn't know her, then you didn't know why the two words Battle and Training were a big no-go for her. First of all GOING TO LEARN TO KILL SOMEONE. Rename it to murder classes! She was gonna go all stab stab with the MURDER WEAPONS HER PAWS HAD! At least call it self-defense training! Seriously, you did NOT have to add SOAP to the already SALTED WOUND! That you ripped the bandage off of! She was very very much very scared of this lesson. Mind blowing. "B-B-Battle Tr-Training. Uhm, i-i've g-got ba-battle training left." Now hopefully she didn't explode from being hit by a sheathed paw. In her defense of explosion: one day that paw could be equipped with deadly slicer slice-idies.

Moonmeadow offered the jumpy apprentice a slightly nervous smile. The kid looked like Moonmeadow had like... I don't know, threatened them or something. The warrior knows that they had been getting more and more jumpy through the tour but nothing like this. But uhh, if she was asking for some training then Moonmeadow wouldn't deny her that. Though on the other paw. Hazy green eyes moved to Willowpaw, "Are you sure you're feeling up to that? No rush, we can come back to battling after you've calmed down if you need?" She hoped that Moonmeadow didn't come off as condescending that was the last thing that the warrior wanted to do. But at the same time they didn't want to make the young apprentice feel like she had to do anything that she didn't feel like doing. They had time, there was no reason to rush things. Though maybe they should get it down soon given current tensions with the other clans. But it could wait a day.

She realized how interesting the ground was for around the billionth time that day. She certainly didn't feel like she was feeling up for it, but would she seem lazy if she said she wanted to rest? An apprentice should be eager to learn, especially for battle training and all the fighting. Willowpaw was pretty sure. She convinced herself that she wouldn't get called out for laziness for just taking a break or a nap, and that she could go refresh bedding a bit before her lesson. That should balance it out fairly. Or it was the most unjust unjusticely unjusticeful unjustice to ever injuticely injusticefully- "Uhm, er, i-i'll take a small b-break. If- if i can." She mewed quietly.
