Hazypaw was absolutely drained. It was hard trying to teach yourself how to fight when you couldn’t see the moves you did. She sighed, frustration lacing her tone.

She plopped down beside Turtlepaw, unaware of his presence

Turtlepaw smiled as Hazypaw sat next to him. And meowed a greetings as his fur fluffed up. He curled his tail around his paws.

Newtberry poked his head into the apprentice's den. "Birdpaw! Wake up! First day of training!" he called. He stepped out, breathing in and out. It wasn't just Birdpaw's first day. It was his too. Once Birdpaw arrived, he led him out to a secluded spot in the clearing. "Today we will be learning about hunting, one of the most valuable skills," he began.

Birdpaw had been wide awake when her mentor called her and had been for a while. She had been pacing around the apprentice's den and bored out of her mind when her mentor called her. His name was Newt umm berry right? She was SO EXCITED to begin training and was bouncing all over the place. @spooky sleek.

Once you have detected your prey. usually through smell, and later, when you come close enough, you will hear it, and eventually see it. But you must stalk it before you see it. Because once you see it, it sees you. Got it?" He paused, letting his words sink in before continuing. "So, before we actually start moving while stalking, I need to make sure that you can get in the position itself correctly. So, you will drop down, pressing your chest low. You will keep your haunches a little higher, and be sure to keep your tail still. Let it hover right above the grass, so it doesn't make noise as it swishes through the grass, and be sure to not let it stick out above. That's basically an alarm for prey." He got down into the position, held it, then stood up. "Now you."

Birdpaw listened to her mentor. When he told her that it was time she got into the postion he had showed her, her tail too short to stick out past the grass. @spooky sleek.
