In one 2013 study, Coyne and her colleagues interviewed families with at least one 12- to
17-year-old. Interviewers asked about each family member’s social-media use. They asked how
often family members communicated with each other on these sites and how connected each
felt to the others. They also probed other behaviors. For instance, how likely were the
participants to lie or cheat? Did they try to hurt people with whom they were angry? And how
likely they were to make kind gestures online toward family members.
About half of these teens connected with their parents on social media, it turns out. Most didn’t
do so every day. But any social-media interaction made teens and parents feel more connected.
This may be because families could respond to posts with likes or words of encouragement,
Coyne says. Or perhaps social media gave parents a more in-depth look at their children’s lives.
That helped parents better understand their kids and what they were going through.

(ELA stuff)

MOTH
"The Traveler"
_______._____._______

"If our own mistakes are too much to take
If this just won't work and we can't find a way
Maybe our maps go different ways
Go different ways"

⯎A child
⯎A traveler
⯎A prophet
⯎blood-soaked nomad
⯎Where she walks, disaster follows
⯎Say hello
⯎To your death

Moth is afraid of the dark. She has seen death, for it stared her directly in the
eyes. She came up on her sister's grave in RiverClan territory, and feels as
though where she walks, her spirit stalks her. Eternally watches... waits for her
to join her. But every time she turns, nobody is there. She's haunted; eternally
cursed in her heart and mind. Disaster follows where she walks. The Moth is full of curses. Beware her every movement. It might be your last sight.

Moth's eyes scanned the area. The paws crunched behind her. Loud, heavy
exhaling. Her breath caught in her throat. When she whipped around, the
only thing she saw was the wind blowing leaves off the ground. It was in her
head. She kept telling herself that, kept trying to believe it. But her curse was
not fake. She heard noises. Why didn't anyone else notice them? Why didn't
anyone notice the giggling, the snarling, the pawsteps, the breathing? The
sounds that seemed to follow her constantly? Who was there, what did they
want? Taking a deep, shuddering breath, Moth continued walking, glancing
over her shoulder with every slight noise. Nobody's there. You're alone.
Nobody's there. You're alone.
If only she truly believed that. If only she
could believe it.
For a finder
A wip
