Re: WindClan Medicine Cat's Den
Cloudpaw
It was literally midnight, but considering the circumstances, he was sure that his intrusion in the medicine den was warranted. Tapping his tail on the frame of the den, muscled legs shaking slightly as he stood there, the white furred tom narrowed his eyes to adjust to the darkness. "Cowtuft? Lightningpaw? Sorry to bother you at this hour, but Ravenpaw is injured and it couldn't wait." Once he was sure that at least one of the healers was awake and approaching, he padded deeper into the den, jaw clenching at the effort as he let Raven slide gently into a nest nearby, side eyeing her pathetic form as he stood over his injured not-friend like an unwilling sentinel. "She went to Twilight Falls and got hurt, evidently from snakebites but they were nonvenemous. She was bleeding like crazy, and it looks like she cut her leg on something but I wasn't there until afterwards so I don't know. She's ridiculously delirious from bloodloss, I'm assuming." Deadpan as he spoke, with a slight frown in the injured molly's direction, clearly unimpressed with her and her ailments, but not going as far to be disrespectful to the Clan's healers. He wouldn't be rude to someone who could potentially save his life later on, he respected them too much. [ @x ghostie @Alchemist Kitsune @spooky.lemons~ ] |

Re: WindClan Medicine Cat's Den
https://warriorcatsonline.com/forums...ictureid=41664 | Lightningpaw | Flock Together [Tier 2] - Inactive True to form, the medicine cat apprentice lay in her nest, upside down while she stared unseeingly at the ceiling in the darkness. The nightmares had started getting worse. Milknose had joined them. His derision at her worthlessness, at how she couldn't even heal him taunting her throughout the night. At least the taunting was better than what followed. When they all descended upon her to have their worth in blood. It was in this state that she smelled it. More so than heard, at least at first. The acrid, tangible stench of blood. Lightningpaw almost ignored the scent at first. Thought she was still stuck in that realm between the waking and the nightmare world. It was the voice that caught the spotted molly's attention. Deadpanned. Calm. Eerily cold despite the urgency in the words spoken. It was almost enough to fully cement that she must still be dreaming. Still, the apprentice healer had never been one to ignore a call for help. Not since that first mistake. The one that had cost another so dearly. Getting up, the silver and black feather on her tail shifted only slightly before she headed towards the herb storage, not even meeting with the felines higher up in the entrance chamber before seeking out essentials. If the voice was to be believed, then a life was already on the line, and a checkup without herbs would be a waste of time. Snakebite. Not venomous. Bleeding like crazy. In an instant she got some essentials. A wave of fury woke her up proper when she realized there were no mushrooms in their stores. She'd sent for two patrols for those so far, and yet neither had come back. Perhaps she should go out herself next time. StarClan knew she had done two patrols during her last requests, the one she had intended to lead herself and a second, a young apprentice that had been left by uncaring, lazy warriors. Funny, how both patrols had been just her and an apprentice. It really showcased the attitude of warriors in this clan as far as she was concerned. Pushing her anger down, using it to fuel her into action, she grabbed the herbs she did have available here. Cobwebs to wrap and staunch the flow, burnet for strength, and then marigold and sunfuzz for good measure. These alongside her trusty, moist moss to clean any debris out of the way of wounds would have to do for now. She would take care of any other essentials as they were needed once she got to their patient. As such, satisfied with her selection, she flew down the tunnels, calling out to Cowtuft in the off chance he hadn't woken up and went to the entrance chamber, only to be met by a deadpanned Cloudpaw and a profusely injured Ravenpaw. In an instant she was by the dark molly's side, looking at the wounds that were caked in blood, one refusing to dry due to the continuous flow. With a grimace, Lightningpaw grabbed her moss and dabbed at the worst of the wounds, attempting to stop the bleeding as she turned sharp blue eyes on the fluffy white tom for a moment. With her free paw, she grabbed at the burnet, offering it to Cloudpaw with a pointed look. "Make sure Ravenpaw chews on this, love. Need to keep her strength up after all this blood loss. She's far from out of the woods. After that, I need to ask... Why is there no warrior here with you two? Were you two sneaking out at night, or did a warrior abandon you after Ravenpaw got injured? I won't get you lot in trouble, that helps none here, but I need to know." Before the apprentice could respond, the rather small Oriental mix popped the marigold and sunfuzz into her mouth, making sure she had a start on that ointment as quickly as possible. She wasn't about to have an apprentice die on her due to a warrior's gross negligence. And if it had been two overly enthused apprentices going out in the middle of the night despite rules to the contrary? Well... maybe it was time somebody spoke to Twilightstar about relaxing those rules just a little bit. Best to allow apprentices some level of freedom out in the territory - maybe past a certain age, or after they had gotten their territory tour - than to have desperate apprentices growing bored cooped up in camp all day and sneaking out at night. Moments like these were less likely to happen if warriors at least knew they were out, for star's sake. - @x ghostie [Cowtuft] | @poppy. [Cloudpaw] | @spooky.lemons~ [Ravenpaw] | I am currently acting as if Ravenpaw is unconscious. Re: WindClan Medicine Cat's Den
https://warriorcatsonline.com/forums...ictureid=41664 | Lightningpaw | Flock Together [Tier 2] - Inactive The young apprentice would have pouted had she expected her request to be allowed, but she'd known from the start it was a long shot. Not only that... but what that some sass she had just gotten back from her mentor? Blimey, they grew up so fast on you, didn't they? Blink of an eye and they went from quiet giants to enormous, sassy furballs that sent your words back to you. Before she could help herself, Lightningpaw smirked. "Fine, but only because you asked so nicely, right?" Joking time was quickly over, and the lithe calico's expression shifted. As much as she preferred to keep a light, friendly, less than serious attitude around patients in the hopes of keeping spirits up, there was little she could do when she was concentrating. Even she couldn't keep a mask of nonchalance all the time. She studied her mentor's actions, watching as he set bone against stick and wrapped. A meticulous process, certainly much more so than a simple poultice to one's wounds. It was clear that experience was key here. A factor Cowtuft would always count on more of no matter how many moons she got of practice. Somehow... Lightningpaw found herself alright with this. She never wanted to be replaceable. Never wanted to be that cat that could be just any other cat, without worth or capable of contribution. Yet the idea of never seeing enough accidents, enough death, enough illnesses to surpass her mentor? She could live with that... Large ears perked when she heard the black and white tom's voice call her name. In an instant she stepped forward, assessing the wounds. It was clear the gash on her flank was the worse of the lot, the reek of infection already assaulting her senses the closer she got. Gratefully, Cowtuft seemed to have thought the same as her, seeing as how that was the first of her wounds he had tended. The rest were quite tame in comparison, and the remaining poultice should suffice. Unfortunately, the most prominent of the scratches were on the molly's face, and considering her rather tense posturing and curt - albeit polite - words, the youngest of the felines in the chamber figured this Hailpaw - or would it be Silverpaw now - would not particularly appreciate being pawed in the face without warning. "You've some scratches and nicks on your face there, love. I'll need to get a bit close and personal to treat them. This alright with you?" she asked. This molly looked like she had been through quite a big ordeal already. It wouldn't surprise her in the slightest if she were to be attacked upon getting too close on sheer instinct. Lightningpaw wasn't certain she would be able to blame the molly, either. No. Best to err on the side of caution this time. As much for the patient's sake as for hers. - @Moonraven [Twilightstar] | @x ghostie [Cowtuft] | @Estelle [Hailpaw] |

[ Done w permission from ghostie and Alchemist ]
It had been a few days since Scorchedfang observed Cowtuft collecting deathberries, and since then he had been ruminating. Though he did not often dabble in it, Scorchedfang had some old herbal knowledge from the Before Times. Deathberries were his expertise, something he rarely was able to play with. And this... seemed like an optimal time to utilize it. Besides, WindClan was a drag. This would spice things up considerably. He did not have many ties here, the sacrifices were just numbers without faces. He was aware of the consequences; for the moment though, the coast was clear. Lightningpaw and Cowtuft were nowhere in sight. Creeping into the den, he used his senses to find their herb stash. The deathberries were sorted a ways from the main supply. Scorchedfang took one deathberry from the supply and brought it over to the main herbs. He crushed it in his paw and allowed the juices to spill over a couple of the plants, tainting them. With that done, he was careful to discard the crushed berry before he departed. What happened next ... They would see soon enough. |

https://warriorcatsonline.com/forums...ictureid=41696 | Dapplebreeze | It had been some days since the senior warrior had brought Firestorm to meet up with the medicine cat, having been met by Lightningpaw herself instead of the black and white giant they had sought. It turned out to have been a good thing, for the complaint she had brewing against the medicine cat apprentice and her obvious lack of care had been unfounded. A mere misunderstanding between the two young mollies, it seemed. The patched warrior hadn't a clue what had transpired between the two, but at least it was over and done with, no more misunderstandings in the air... even if there was some level of animosity from the pale tabby left. To top it off, somehow the former queen had ended up on the apprentice's patient list! It was true... she had not been eating. Nausea and a lack of an appetite made sure she couldn't be bothered to eat. The lack of energy and strength wasn't helping... so of course, the darling decided to take matters into her own paws. Dapplebreeze hated the idea of having the poor dear waste her precious herbs on her. As much as she had insisted for the younger warrior to visit the healer's den, she wasn't too fond of coming here herself. Not if she could help it. And for something as silly as a lack of appetite? It seemed like nonsense. Yet the young molly had... done something. For the first time in days... no, in moons, she had felt it. A clawing hunger deep in her stomach. The ability to eat without feeling an unrelenting nausea. And strength slowly returning to her. The tan and cream warrior now stood at the entrance chamber, looking for dear Lightningpaw for her follow up. The young apprentice - well... not so young anymore, she supposed - had told her under no uncertain terms that she was to come back in a few days to get a follow up. Especially if her hunger dissipated again. And loathe as she was to admit it, it had left. She hadn't eaten in two days, after a full two days of almost feeling back to her old self. Despite hating to waste the herbs, she disliked the idea of disobeying direct orders even more, and thus here she was. Awaiting the calico to give her report. "Lightningpaw... darling? Are you here?" Dapplebreeze called out, sitting down out of the center path of the burrow as she waited. |

Sniffling softly, wiping her running nose, Lilypool padded into the medicine cat's den, green eyes sweeping over the incredibly cool interior before clearing her throat to announce her appearance. "Excuse me, Cowtuft? Sorry to bother you, I just have a bit of a runny nose, and I've been coughing quite a bit." Re: WindClan Medicine Cat's Den
https://warriorcatsonline.com/forums...ictureid=41664 | Lightningstorm | Flock Together [Tier 3] - Inactive She had been busy these past few days. Between hunting, the dark omen that loomed over WindClan, and just... everything that seemed to keep happening, the young calico hadn't had much time to breath since receiving her name. Making up for that now, she rummaged through the herb stores, finding that some of their supplies seemed to have tarnished sooner than usual. It was odd... they had a smell to them that she couldn't quite place, and if she didn't know any better, she would have assumed they had gotten humid in the past few days. Considering the dryness of the herb storage and their underground location, it didn't seem like a possibility. The fact that these herbs were also strewn all about was just rude. She liked her herbs in their place, thank you very much. No doubt some warrior had made a mess of things after coming back from a patrol. Feeling the beginnings of a migraine forming at the back of her head, Lightningstorm settled for rummaging through the spoilage for the few bits and baubles that still seemed to be in perfect order. Sticks, honeycombs that never seemed to spoil, some seeds, and a root that she still hadn't asked Cowtuft about. And the black and white tom had said he had nothing else to teach her. Silly goose. Her mood somewhat restored at the discovery of still viable materials, the tortie and white grabbed an old, dried out, and frankly past its time bit of moss from a nest that needed some changing and began placing the rotting herbs there, her nose wrinkled at the mildly sweet aroma mixed with decay until her ears perked up, a voice calling out her name. Recognizing the timbre, she grinned, glad for the excuse to not have to deal with this bit of putrefaction just yet. Getting up, she stopped by the small stream that ran through the underground den to wash her paws clean off the mess she'd made of them before heading towards her patient. A small frown crossed her features as she realized that her juniper berries and the burnet she had gathered were in the pile of rot she had been removing. Delicately grabbing a sorrel leaf that seemed to have been spared from whatever chaos had ravaged the other plants, the spotted molly padded up to meet up with the older molly she had been expecting. "Hey there beautiful! Looking much better than last I saw you already. How have you been? Feeling stronger? Eating better?" Lightningstorm asked, setting the sorrel down before her patient as she took to giving her an assessing look, circling around her as she made sure there was nothing physically wrong with the molly at a glance like there had been a bit earlier this same moon. |

Re: WindClan Medicine Cat's Den
[I totally forgot about this! But you can submit Silver to WindClan, Estelle, if you have a particular mentor you want for her put it your submission.] Twilightstar watched the healing process with an observant glint in her eye. Her gaze was primarily stationed on Hailpaw who seemed ever so uncomfortable with all of this. She was a tad worried about how she'd adjust to clan life with her clear distrust for other cats. Twilightstar gave a light, encouraging nod as Hailpaw turned to her with a questioning shine in her gaze when the poppy seeds were placed in front of her. This was certainly going to be an adjustment period for her. After obtaining a positive response to returning but a negative to the new name, Twilightstar listened as Hailpaw explained her reasoning for rejecting her offer. Although she wasn't happy with the rejection, she understood Hailpaw's reasoning. "If that's what you wish, then I'll allow it." Twilightstar meowed with a slow blink of her eye. The additional name request was a bit of a surprise. Twilightstar didn't normally give out name changes unless she found they were needed. Names were important amongst the clan and it was considered disrespectful to ask for a new name and to reject what the Clan leader has chosen for you. Hailpaw's reasoning for changing her name wasn't great, she didn't understand how her name connected to favors, but after everything Hailpaw's been through asking for a name change seemed fair. "Alright, from this moment on you'll be known as Silverpaw." Twilightstar told her. The Clan leader got to her paws and stretched. "With your return I'll have to look into your mentor, but for now, feel free to rest. I'll inform the clan about your return at the upcoming meeting. I won't pick out your mentor until you've recovered from your injuries, so if you think of someone you'd be more comfortable training with let me know." Many of the cats came and went with the flow of time, it was likely that Silverpaw would have to train with someone she wasn't completely familar with, but so was the life of a clan cat. She diverted her attention to Cowtuft as he began to sign something. A bit of it went over her head, but it seemed that Silverpaw was free to leave the den if she so wished once Lightingpaw was done with her. "Do you want to come with me, I can show you where all the dens are located in camp and then you can rest in the apprentice den?" @Alchemist Kistune @xX ghostie Xx |

https://warriorcatsonline.com/forums...ictureid=41696 | Dapplebreeze | A small purr escaped the older molly at the apprentice's words. Lightningpaw had always been a bit on the teasing side, no matter who she was talking with. She sometimes wondered what the calico would have been like as a warrior. She certainly had the strength of character, and the banter that would no doubt have helped her perhaps confuse opponents while she struck at them. It wasn't her preferred method of fighting. Wasted too much energy and not enough blood, but she had seen it used effectively. Still, if Cowtuft was to have picked as willy and rambunctious an apprentice as her, she was glad that the young one had taken her job seriously. Her training in earnest. "I have, my dear. But... I'm afraid my appetite. Well... It's rather gone again. I do hate to bother you, but I do recall a rather stern order to come by if the symptoms returned or persisted," the molly mewed, offering an apologetic look at the apprentice. She knew it was the spotted one's job, and she felt quite terrible about the bother, but frankly, after having seen her reaction towards Firestorm's own neglect to follow through with check ups, she would rather stay the wind and travel on the safer path. |

She had been feeling sick recently. Pain has been bugging her, and she has been snapping at cats more. Maybe something was wrong? "Cowtuft... Lightningstorm... Something is wrong with me..." Re: WindClan Medicine Cat's Den
https://warriorcatsonline.com/forums...ictureid=41664 | Lightningpaw | Flock Together [Tier 3] - Active A deadpanned look crossing the molly's face at the apprentice's words, she turned her attention to him momentarily, blue eyes meeting his similarly colored hues. "Stuff it down her throat if you must. Get creative, or has your imagination left you alongside your nursery days? Here. Coax her mouth to move slowly, like so," the molly responded, her voice calmer than her words suggested as she placed the herb carefully inside the unconscious apprentice's maw before closing it, attempting to help Ravenpaw chew with careful motions of her paws to grind down the herb with her teeth. "She should swallow them naturally after a while, but if she don't, let me know." As Cloudpaw explained the situation, Lightningpaw found herself frowning once more, this time with concern. Evidently the fluffy tom had about the same amount of information in his grasp as she did, so until they managed to stabilize the dark apprentice, they might not glean any knowledge on what transpired while she was out of camp. Her own poultice done, she remained quiet, working on fixing the worst of the wounds the injured apprentice had in display. Or at least so she had planned on doing. She hadn't the foggiest when he'd arrived at the scene, silent as he used to be. But she was grateful. Incredibly so as she watched him dab a poultice that smelled heavily of the comfrey he had asked for not too long ago. The spotted lass wasn't overly familiar with the herb, but evidently it would be useful here if the black and white tom deemed it useful now. "Thank you," she mewed in earnest, taking care of the remaining poultice and applying it generously, hoping this would be enough to stabilize her. As she worked, she spoke up once more, again directing her questions at the white furred apprentice. "Is there nothing that stood out from what she said when you found her?" she asked, one final attempt to gain any information at all before dismissing the indifferent tom, assuming her mentor still had nothing else to discuss with him. - @xX ghostie Xx [Cowtuft] | @poppy. https://warriorcatsonline.com/forums...ictureid=41664 | Lightningstorm | Flock Together [Tier 3] - Inactive Fretting over herbs that she found herself without, Lightningstorm hovered over the herb storage, still at a loss as to what had caused those herbs to spoil so fast. That odd, sweet, scent that had clung to them even amidst the reek of rot. There were still herbs to be counted on, thankfully, but the medicine cat was already making a mental list of what herbs to send out for in the next batch of patrols. Her mind focused on its task as it was, the lithe calico almost missed the call. A gratingly familiar voice calling out to either her mentor or herself. The healer found herself uncertain if her mentor was in the den with her or not. The black and white tom had given her much more liberties ever since she had earned her name, and the omen had shaken him to his core. Much more than it had herself... albeit perhaps that rested in the fact that his faith in the old gray-pelts in the sky was much more potent than hers. She wouldn't say she didn't believe in them. She wasn't so ignorant as to deny what she had experienced with her own two eyes. The molly simply thought that they didn't know what they spoke of half the time, and the half time they did know what they were speaking of was simply because they were trying to tie in half arsed prophecies and omens into events that had come to pass regardless of their cryptic messages. With a sigh, the oriental mix got up, ready to meet with Tigermist at the den's entrance chamber. Much as she disliked the molly, she had no intention of denying her knowledge to anyone. That would make her become what she so loathed, and the she-cat refused to stoop to such levels. For a moment, the young medicine cat took pause. The orange tabby pelt and green eyes bringing to mind yet another troublesome patient, albeit that one's expertise lay more in her inability to lay still and actually take some her time. A quick assessment of Tigermist's physique done as soon as she entered the entrance chamber, Lightningstorm took note of no outwardly obvious signs of injury or distress. The warrior looked perfectly fine, if perhaps a bit tired and a hint rounder than when she'd seen her last. Her face a mask of professional curiosity, the spotted feline proceeded to circle the tabby, ears perked up as she allowed her nose to attempt and pick up the scent of disease or infection to no avail. "I can spot nothing instantly troubling. You say you feel... wrong, was it? Could you go into further detail? What is it you feel? Have you done something out of the ordinary of late? Eaten some food past its prime? Drunk from the pool at Twilight Falls?" the healer asked, stepping in closer as she raised a paw, a quiet question for permission to prod at her joints and stomach in an attempt to find something out of place that might give a clue as to what was troubling her so. @pumpkinbubble. https://warriorcatsonline.com/forums...ictureid=41664 | Lightningstorm | Flock Together [Tier 3] - Inactive A small giggle escaped the younger medicine cat, thoroughly amused with the older molly's choice of words. Lightningstorm did remember Dapplebreeze as that one queen in the nursery who was an admittedly bigger stick in the mud than she preferred, but at least she got things done. It seemed that extended to orders to come back if symptoms persisted, which is more than she expected of most warriors, if she were to be honest. With the admission done, however, the healer pushed forward the sorrel she had brought, offering a genuine smile at the former queen. There didn't seem to be any more symptoms other than the lack of hunger, which was a good thing. Perhaps the weakness and nausea had been brought about from Dapplebreeze's reluctance to eat in the first place? Stars knew that the healer herself sometimes felt a bit less inclined to eat after having skipped a meal or two due to her own work. "And it's proper good you came by, innit? Got some nice herbs for you to munch on, and you'll be feeling better in no time. Do let me know if you start feeling the nausea and lack of strength again though. Don't think it's anything serious for now, seeing as how you seem better, but I've been wrong before, ya hear?" she purred, offering the molly a smirk. "If that's all you are free to go. Make sure you eat something before heading out for the day. Otherwise you're going to be getting some mighty hunger pangs once your out and about, and trust me when I tell ya those get old real swift like," the healer added in a slight, teasing tone before dismissing the senior warrior, her cheeky smirk widening as Dapplebreeze shook her head with amusement before heading back to work. |
Re: WindClan Medicine Cat's Den
It was the dead of night when the WindClan leader made her way up the hillside and into the clearing. She moved as quietly as she could or at least tried not to step on the numerous crunch leaves that littered the clearing, and made her way over to the Galewood. Twilightstar made sure not to stray more than a tail length away from the tom that she was leading into the camp. "We're going to visit the medicine cats, they're friendly I'm sure you'll like them." Twilightstar meowed to Crowtooth, veering around the large trunk of the tree to get behind it. The leader paused in front of the opening the lead underneath the tree and tossed an encouraging glance over to Crowtooth before lowering herself into the short tunnel that led the the space the medicine cats occupied. "Cowtuft, Lightingstorm, are either of you still up?" Twilightstar called as she took a seat on the den flooring waiting to see if either one or both would answer her. She was hoping one or both would show up, she'd feel bad about having to wake them if they were sleeping yet she really needed them to look over Crowtooth's head alongside any of his older wounds. She wasn't sure if he'd be able to serve as a warrior as he currently was, and was in debate on making him elder. But if they said he was good to go, she'd see about working something out with Dustbunny. @Alchemist Kitsune @wolfie @Rani |
Re: WindClan Medicine Cat's Den
Exiting the tunnels had shown the tom even the moonlight was not kind to him. While the sun had scorched his darkened eyes the first time he'd tried to leave the tunnels so long ago and left them aching for days while the moonlight had hurt it hadnt blinded so badly.
He'd fallen back a bit on this instance of exiting. Hissing as the bright moon hurt his eyes and had even been reluctant to try again for a good ten minutes until Twilightstar had coaxed him out with gentle words and promises of help. Still, the tom scorned the light in his state. It was too much to see, to feel, even in the darkened night and itd taken the solution of keeping his eyes sealed shut for him to edge away from the tunnel entrance and follow her into the open to the camp. It hadnt slowed him down though. Even blind with eyes closed like a kit the tom had kept easy pace with the leader, ears flicking in paranoia of the newness of open air. But he'd traveled blind for as long as he clearly remembered. The tunneler was used to it and, padding with ears flicking around and whiskers brushing the ground he'd easily navigated and walked, a good sign in his state. It seemed even if it'd take a long time until he was alright with opening his eyes and seeing, even in the night, it wouldnt handy-cap him from rejoining the clan in hunting and life at all. Still, going to the medicine cats for help was a good idea. Following the old molly through the camp, nose twitching at the familiar not familiar scent the tom hesitated at the entrance to the dens. The sharp smell of herbs, the distant one of sickness and injury, it was familiar and a forgotten part of the tom feared it. Flashes of muffled memory of loneliness, fear and pain pain pain in weak sickness overwhelmed him for a moment and the toms bad breathing worsened in this. He didnt understand how and why or ever clearly remember it, but in a place like this his throat had been ruined. It was a scary thing and something told the tom he'd avoided places like this like the plague before. Except.... This wasnt the old den. This wasnt the one Coyotesnarl had neglected him in, left Crowkit to choke. That difference was somehow enough for the tom to duck in and join Twilightstar, sniffing the air. "I-" He hesitated, rasping and unsure "Im thinkin' of a name I think.... Somethin' familiar?" His head tilted to the smaller molly unsure, "Does the name Peach....Amber(?) mean anything? I can' remember ah face but the smell makes the names come." Memories seemed to be returning on a trigger and at faster pace, not lost to Crowtooth as might be expected. @Alchemist Kitsune @wolfie @Moonraven |

https://warriorcatsonline.com/forums...ictureid=41664 | Lightningpaw | Flock Together [Tier 3] - Inactive The more Lightningpaw interacted with this molly, the more she had to wonder why she had returned. It was clear this apprentice did not appreciate being close to her, and while normally she wouldn't take this to heart - it was hard to find fault at those being annoyed or in a sour mood due to feeling ill or injured - it seemed to almost run deeper with this one. As if it didn't have to be her - or a healer in general - but anyone. Perhaps she would be feeling better as the days progressed, or maybe she would prove to be just like the others. Lazy and content in letting others do things while she got away with the bare minimum. The lithe calico sincerely hoped that wasn't the reason this paw had returned. It didn't seem to be the case - not with her having denied skipping apprenticeship altogether - but the young medicine cat apprentice found herself being disappointed by clan cats as a whole in new ways every day. Working swiftly - the wounds many but gratefully not complex enough to warrant an extended stay - the Oriental mix stepped back once she was done, settling nicely besides her mentor. Ears perked up, she noticed the signs the gentle giant was using to communicate with - the now confirmed - Silverpaw, and she couldn't help but wonder if the apprentice would understand him. Most WindClanners understood enough to get by, but this apprentice was... old. By apprentice standards, in any case. Tigerpaw old. And from context she could understand enough to know that Cowtuft had not been the medicine cat when this one had vanished. Whether the newcomer wanted to listen to her speak or not was irrelevant. Instructions for aftercare were given no matter who you were. "Cowtuft believes Silverpaw is a lovely name. Reminds him of the moon. But on a more serious note, he's letting you know that you need rest. That leg's gonna need all the nest time it can get, innit? If it starts to bother you, come back here. Regardless, once you have regained some strength, come back for a general check-up. He'll want to ensure your wounds are healing along well. If that's all, however, I believe we'll be out of your fur now," Lightningpaw mewed, a sterner look on her face as she repeated her mentor's instructions before giving Twilightstar a nod, letting her know she was free to head on out with Silverpaw and take care of whatever extra business they might have. @Moonraven [Twilightstar] | @wolfie [Cowtuft] | @Estelle [Silverpaw] |
Re: WindClan Medicine Cat's Den
Cowtuft shuffled through his herb storage, picking out any withered herbs and pushing them into one pile. His nose wrinkled, letting out a small huff. Sometimes herbs would get mixed around and hidden. He tried to keep it organize but goodness, when healing he was always rushing. It was to his surprise to realize they DID have catmint. Cowtuft looked at it for a long while. ",, i just sent a patrol out to find more, " He shook his head and went back to organizing. After he was finished, he would discard the withered herbs. |

Another day, another round of tampering. Nothing of note had come from last time, so Scorchedfang decided to up the toxicity. Finding Cowtuft's supply of deathberries tucked beneath a leaf, he took a few extras and crushed them over a pawful of herbs. He didn't recognize them, but one had several bright yellow flowers on its stem. Once he was satisfied with the amount of poison, he carefully discarded the berries, as he'd done before, and made his departure. Hopefully this would have better results. |

MeadowLark the new warrior of WindClan walked into the med den "hey got any herbs for this?" she asked showing CowTuft the large gash in her leg "i walked near a bager's set hehe" she chuckled "i guess being a new warrior does not mean i know the territory" she sat down in a nest |

https://warriorcatsonline.com/forums...ictureid=41664 | Lightningstorm | Flock Together [Tier 3] - Inactive Lightningstorm could feel her lip curl at the unhelpful answer offered by the molly. Or rather incomplete. Yes, she had at the very least offered to tell her she was nauseous, but unfortunately the lack of details gave her very little information on how to proceed. Was she nauseous from having eating crowfood? Was her stomach upset from the tainted water at Twilight Falls? Deciding against her better judgement to assume the lack of a response meant she had done none of those things, she gently pressed her paw at the molly's side, only to draw it backwards the moment Tigermist began heaving. Despite not looking forward to having to clean up a mess, the fact that the tabby seemed to not be emptying the content of her stomach anytime soon relieved the healer for a wholly different reason, a small sigh escaping her. She'd seen enough warriors go through these symptoms since her kit days to understand what was happening. Mood swings, rounder look, and nausea that seemed to come out of nowhere? Looked like the nursery was going to get a new queen soon enough. It honestly surprised her, that the apprentice who had been so vocal about wanting her freedom and her warrior status had decided to strip it all away and start a family so quickly, but she frankly wasn't about to judge her over it. Some felines simply enjoyed looking after kits or wanted to start their own families as soon as they found their soulmate - stars knew her mother seemed to find one of those every moon - and honestly, she was fine with it. Besides, there was plenty other reasons to judge this one, in any case. "Well... I'm afraid I have some bad news for you, love," Lightningstorm mewed delicately, knowing full well their herb stores were heavily depleted still due to the shortage of herbs that had accompanied the heavy battle, move, and fire that the clan had experienced this year. "I am afraid that I can't heal you proper. I would offer some juniper berries, but I'm 'fraid I used up the last of those on some of my patients with breathing conditions. The ones affected by the fire, you know? The good news is, while the juniper berries might have taken away your nausea, they really wouldn't have cured you none. You're not sick, although..." the calico mewed, allowing an amused smirk to cross her maw as she spoke. "Might want to consider tellin' Twilightstar you'll be movin' to the nursery soon. Warriors' den is no place for kits, 'specially so close to leafbare." @bubblegum. [Tigermist] | Tigermist's pregnancy confirmed. Re: WindClan Medicine Cat's Den
https://warriorcatsonline.com/forums...ictureid=41664 | Lightningstorm | Flock Together [Tier 3] - Inactive She could hear the sounds of shuffling and voices before her name was called, and the lithe calico was swiftly up. Yet another sleepless night for her after the stars forsaken half baked message sent to them by those whose heads were so far up in the sky she wasn't certain they really understood the living anymore. If they did, they would certainly be a bit more empathetic, she would assume. This was of course if one believed they cared, which quite frankly the younger of the WindClan healers was starting to be more and more inclined to believe was very much not the case. Twilightstar's voice was like a balm for her boredom, however, and swiftly she was up, a light call to her mentor trilled before she bounded away to meet up with the leader and... whoever this cat was. In an instant it was clear this cat was... not okay. It was a miracle in and of itself that he at least seemed to be able to move! Never had she seen a cat look more skeleton than fur, and the closer she got the more she noticed bunches of what appeared to be bugs encrusted to his fur, big, gray and bulbous in nature. Lightningstorm had never seen such a creature, and was only convinced they were bugs instead of warts by the movement some of those bulges presented. Nothing was as astounding, however, as the lack of infection in the air. The young molly would have assumed a cat looking as distraught as this one would be teeming with disease, yet despite the heavy scarring and obvious wounds suffered in time, those seemed to be long healed - or as close as some came to said state - with the feline's lack of nutrition and bug situation taking clear precedence. The tom's words as the medicine cat approached catching her attention, the wiry framed molly tilted her head in confusion. Peach? Amber? There was only one Peach she knew of, and that was Peachfrost. As for Amber... she knew no one with that name... although she would be lying if she didn't admit to having a nagging feeling in the back of her mind that she should know who this tom was speaking of. Regardless of the situation, the molly decided introductions were in order, and offering the leader a welcoming grin, she opened her mouth to speak, only to be interrupted by a yawn she quickly stifled before attempting to communicate once again. "Awake and raring to go, Twilightstar. Fraid I'm neither Peach nor Amber, love, but I'll do what I can to help. Name's Lightningstorm, and I'm one of WindClan's medicine cats. Reckon it's alright with you if I get a bit closer and ask you some questions? Our herb stores can help, but only if I know what I am treating," the molly asked, waiting politely by the tunnel's entrance. She had seen enough cats in bad condition to know that just because they had arrived here or been escorted here by the leader it wasn't a guarantee that they wanted to be tended to. There were neither enough herbs in their stores nor did she have the patience to waste her time. The spotted healer would of course treat a patient without question, no matter their condition... but she would not do so at the detriment of her own life. If the warrior was just as likely to attack her as they were to be treated by her, the only help she would offer was showing them to the exit and tell them to come back when they'd gotten their heads out of their arses long enough to grasp at the common sense needed to not make idiot remarks. This tom seemed to be relaxed enough despite his obvious injuries, but one could never be certain. Besides, most illnesses were much more than skin deep. She couldn't tell if the cat was emaciated due to an inability to hunt due to illness or injury or due to a lack of hunger until she got to talk to him, now could she? @Moonraven [Twilighstar] | @wolfie [Cowtuft] | @Rani [Crowfoot] |

@wolfie Orangepaw was led into the den with his anxious mentors tail draped over his shoulders. Orangepaw let out a small wheezing cough. Watertail sniffed and looked at the medicine cats. "E-excuse me? Orangepaws wheezing and coughing really bad. He says his throat is tight and hurts" |

Re: WindClan Medicine Cat's Den
Twilightstar turned her head so Crowtooth was locked within her single eye as he spoke. He seemed more uneasy than he had been a few moments ago, tense and his breaths sharper. Twilightstar pinned her full ear back and moved closer to the bigger tom to offer some comfort. His words perked her interest and gave a bit of hope that his memories could and would return little by little. Before she could answer his inquiry, Lightningstorm joined them. She kept her distance, offering Crowtooth the decision to allow her to move closer. She wondered if the molly had picked that up after dealing with Silverpaw, or maybe she'd always been that polite and considerate and Twilightstar simply did to notice at first. As before, she didn't get a chance to properly introduce Crowtooth or once again answer as a sharp yowl from further back in the den had her fur bristling in alarm. Her bright green eye peered in the direction the cry had come from and stared long until Cowtuft made his presence known. He looked a bit disheveled and his paws discolored, but he didn't seem to be harmed. As much as Twilightstar would like to know what had rattled the medicine cat, attention was brought back to Crowtooth. "This is Crowtooth, he served as WindClan's tunneler some time ago and vanished some seasons back. He was recently found in the tunnels, obviously not in the greatest state as you can see. Seems like he suffered a nasty head injury, and lost quite a bit of his memories, if not all of them, from his time in WindClan. It appears they're coming back here and there though. But I figured I'd bring him to you two and see if there is anything you can do for him." Twilightstar meowed to both medicine cats. She shifted a little away from the filthy tom, to give the medicine cats a chance to look him over when he was ready. "I believe you're recalling Peachfrost and Coldamber." Twilightstar spoke to Crowtooth in a fond tone. "They were both WindClan's medicine cats before Cowtuft and Lightningstorm. Unfortunately, neither of them is with us anymore. Otherwise, I'm sure they'd both be thrilled to see you again." @Rani @Alchemist Kitsune @wolfie |
Re: WindClan Medicine Cat's Den
Oh, a voice, seemed something other then herbs was in fact in here. Even blind Crowtooth turned to face the source of the voice and his head tilted down, and down to face it. Little bit this Lighteningstorm was, though maybe Crowtooth was just large for a cat, this was supported by his encounters so far at least.
"Ah, 'ello there Ligh'enin'storm." The tom jolted slightly, mind catching up to the others words. Ah don' mind you gettin' close an' stuff I recon, jus' warn me 'for ya do? 'm kinda jumpy if ya haven' noticed." This was quickly proven as, halfway crouched down to a flop so the smaller tom could examine him a scream run out and Crowtooth hit the roof. Literally. With a full body flinch and an instinctive leap to his paws to be ready for whatever danger was coming this act ended up bringing the tunneler a little too high and with a grunt an already rattled head bumped straight off of the roof of the end before the tom ended up back down on the ground. He didnt panic further, be that by the sharp jolt of pain from his head or the fact that none of the others were freaking out, and simple slid back down onto the ground fully, paw now on the top of his head. "Nnnngh. What i' the stars was that?" A scarred paw rubbed over the aching but before falling back to the ground as the sensation faded, the bump amounting little more then a temporary discomfort. Crowtooth tilted a head over to the new cat, up this time as now on the floor he was no where near the height of this giant, and tried not to whine as he rasped out a question. "Now what'd startle ya to scream like that 't this time a night?" The skunk striped tom coughed before scenting the air, pressed up against Twilightstar for comfort, and idly felt familiar with this cat too. Also slightly offended? Something was telling him this could should not be taller then him and he seemed to be, bad cat, whoever you are. Conform to the tunnelers muddled expectations and still be small. This must be Cowpaw- Tuft. Cowtuft and Crowtooth didnt know why his brain thought otherwise really, tuning out for a moment as he pressed his face against the leaders side, wheezily breathing deep. Sudden fright and odd feelings aside this was nice, felt right. He was among cats that just smelled like home and the warm presence of Twilightstar along his flopped side was a source of comfort he hadnt had in seasons. So even as he was probably slightly dirtying her pelt, Crowtooth was happily lightly rubbing his cheek against Twilightstars shoulder, a crackling purr in his throat. He wouldve whined when she stepped away to let the medicine cats work had she not perked his ears with knowledge of his own past. Peachfrost and Coldamber? Yeah those names felt familiar and right, that was who he was talking about. It was sad to not have them here, to potentially regain that relationship but he was still happy to have those names back at least. "That's a shame.... Suppose Im 'n your hands then now, fire away." @Moonraven @Alchemist Kitsune @wolfie |

Re: WindClan Medicine Cat's Den
Mintkit shyly came to the medicine cat's den. ''Lightingpa- I mean Lightingstorm? May I get in?'' Glow mewled, glow didn't intend to, but the fear on the back of glow mind that glow felt during the hawk attack was still there, echoing. Mintkit's leg was still twisted but not so much, it hasn't become a lot more twisted, not even half a claw. Glow wounds were now scars, and fur was covering around them, making them less visible. Also, Mintkit was still small for glow age, but looked less chubby, unlike when glow was younger.
The kit waited for one of the med cat's to answer. @Alchemist Kitsune @wolfie |
