Blackjaw made his way through the territory, searching for moss covered roots, and crevices where cobwebs would be hiding. The tom stumbled upon a large, moss covered pine, and began to scrape off as much as he could. When he turned to pad away, he noticed a hollow trunk, fallen in the middle of the forest. A perfect point for cobwebs. The tom make his way there, wrapping any cobwebs around his front leg. He turned to pad back to camp with the necessary materials for Sleepysunrise. He needed to get back for Mosstangle.

wildpaws quiet excitement as pleasant, definitely a lot nicer than some of the other apprentices he'd taken out. nothing like a unmotivated apprentice to ruin a patrol. he wouldnt have to worry about everyone keeping up unless silverdusk was irresponsible. he wouldnt know, barely able to pick out the she cat from a line-up.

before he could answer the apprentice, silverdusk stepped in and submitting her application to speedrun her way onto rooks naughty list. he didnt like cats overstepping, not only because he had offered to explain but primarily because he had not served shadowclan as a medicine cat to be walked over later. "dont really look like dandelions at all but sure" he replied flatly before turning his attention back to wildpaw.

"marigold are big crinkly flowers, they should be mostly yellow or light orange right now. the petals for a almost round sort of ball instead of the usual flat shape flowers have. they have thick dark green steps with some long, flimsy, serrated leaves n grow in sunny spots. understand?" the enforcer explained patiently and without passing judgement (for once). wildpaw had earned himself some free missteps without consequence by being nice. or maybe rookfire was simply in a good mood.

"i'll stick close, if ya need help again come find me" he assured the apprentice once more before throwing silverdusk a brief glance and stalking off.

Fishbite stared at wisppaw for a moment they were late and costing them time, but that's fine enough. Fishbite led the rest of the patrol out of camp and into the territory. Fishbite looked at her patrol Just stick close together…Houndpaw dont run off again and attack something bigger than you she said before breaking off from her patrol, she knew- well hopped houndpaw learned his lesson from that beaver incident but you never know.

The warrior crept around sniffing for prey, catching a scent trail of a frog and followed it till she saw the thing… slowly fishbite snuck up just enough before she pounced, catching it in her mouth killing it, But it didint stay in her mouth for long before she spit it back out and gagged, dropping the frog. NOPE- she did NOT like that taste at all ew ew ew, The warrior buried the food and moved on with it.

Was it getting really bright to anyone else? Wildpaw narrowed his eyes as he looked around. At the very least, there was a lot of shade in the pine forest of Shadowclan's territory. Still, it was kinda giving him a headache.

The calico was surprised when Silverdusk chipped in instead of Rookfire. He blinked a couple times to see what it was that she was showing him. Big, yellow flowers. He hadn't even finished examining the flowers brought to him when Rookfire chipped in, and he was suddenly very unsure if what Silverdusk had brought him was Marigold or not. He examined it. Big and ruffled petals. Big and crinkly. Were those the same description?

The apprentice looked between the pair. "Okay!" Wildpaw nodded after deciding that Rookfire's description was just way more detailed than Silverdusk's. "Thank you!" He squeaked before bounding off to seek out more of the flower that Silverdusk had shown and Rookfire had described for him.

Oh! Well, that was definitely a Marigold! Right? Wildpaw found a patch of bright flowers, the center one being nice and ruffled with hints of orange. He gnawed the stem to free it from the ground, then did the same for a few more flowers beside it. By this point, the sunlight was really aggravating his eyes and he shut them as he picked the last flower. He gathered up his haul and bounced back over, quite pleased that he had been able to help out on this patrol. "I go' shome!" He mumbled through the flowers, eyes squinting so that he didn't run into anything.

Flytail padded along with his patrol he didnt say much to the late apprentice except give a disapproving stare before moving on.When Fishbite gave her orders he just shrugged his shoulder and moved on he would keep an eye on the two apprentices with his jaw injured there was much he could do but grit it out. Suddenlt he scented mice crouching down slowly he stalked over to a log and to his joy two mice scurreied out using his claws he quickly killed them.

Silverdusk gave a sideways glare towards Rookfire. Of course they looked nothing alike. That wasn't the point. The she-cat met Rookfire's gaze for a mere moment after the tom explained what to do. She turned away and rolled her eyes, as she padded to a marigold patch nearby.

The she-cat plucked some of the flowers from the stems, gathering one, two, three of them. Her blue gaze raked across the woods for any signs of more, catching sight of two more of the orangish yellow flowers. She bounded over, plucked those as well, and made her way back to the original meeting point.

There was Wildpaw. Holding one singular marigold, and not one, not two, but THREE dandelions. Amongst another flower she didn't know the name of. She snickered to herself, dropping her load of marigolds in front of her for a moment too lick her maw. Rookfire could deal with the dandelions. They looked nothing alike but here they were, mistaken for marigolds by a new apprentice, just as Silverdusk was worried.

huge chocolate brown tom with darker brown markings that go down his back and limbs; lighter brown underbelly and chest. has a striped tail and small, tufted ears with round, blazing golden eyes. has thick fluffy fur and a raccoon-like striped tail. he has a single tooth that overlaps his bottom lip and is commonly covered in mud. he is missing half of his right ear; smells like dirt & wood. struggles with a stutter & motor tics (involuntary movement). ⋆｡˚ ☁︎ ˚｡⋆｡˚☽˚｡⋆

⊱ ۫ ׅ ✧ Houndpaw trailed behind his patrolmates, noticeably walking at a slower pace but not quite enough to fall behind. And certainly not enough to miss Fishbite's comment. The apprentice's face scrunched up immediately, "Oi! Sc-c-crew off, I ain't gonna, " He bit back, it had been a singular incident when he was five moons old! He was nine moons old; no more kitten fluff. Besides, how'd this cat even know about that? Which speaking of, they did actually seem familiar but he couldn't pinpoint it. Weird.

The tom was quick to make a break for it once Flytail and Fishbite went off to hunt. He didn't quite have any intentions to run off this time around. Hunting was something he enjoyed. It didn't take too long for him to track down a bird by its insistent chirping. Considering his failures last time, he was careful to creep forward through the underbush. It was cooing up in a tree.

[ houndpaw rolled a 17 ! ]

Houndpaw would climb slowly up a tree, keeping quiet as he moved up through the branches. When the thrush was in sight, he leapt; catching its wings in his claws and delivering a swift bite to the nape of its neck. SUCCESS! Oh heck, he wanted to eat it now.

The chocolate brown apprentice climbed back down and buried the bird before going on the hunt for more creatures to claim.

He was not going to tell you about his second encounter, dear reader. He did not proceed to find a rabbit.. hare (he didn't know man! he wasn't a wind-kitty), chase it across the territory and finally catch it only for to him in the face with its powerful hindlegs. Houndpaw didn't let the creature escape because his head was so dizzy, blood dripping from his nose. (And it TOOK FOREVER!) Alas, as much as the apprentice wanted to die it the failure covered him. Literally. Smearing the blood away did not help you. Nor did the leaves in your fur.

Despite being utterly exhausted from his .. first encounter. Yes. His first encounter. Houndpaw could not relent. He explored through the territory, using his senses in search of prey. Eventually, he would hear the quiet chewing of a nut. Dropping into a hunter's crouch, he followed the vole's trail.

[ houndpaw rolled a 14 ! ]

He came out into a small, meadow clearing. Golden gaze drifted to his target and he crept silently, keeping his limbs balanced. When the vole was in his reach, he launched himself off the ground and pounced on it; killing it swiftly.

the oldest of the three didnt pay much attention to newtbellys and silentpaws conversation. it didnt matter. even if he did roll his eyes silently at newtbellys comment. he never had any problem keeping up with enforcer duties while active as a medicine cat, and he had had to deal with the aftermath of a fight and an absent mentor. once they reached a clearing, a puddle still left over from the last rainfall easily visible, newtbelly sent them off and he went as quietly as he had followed.

despite newleaf filling the forest with new life, rookfire had little luck at first. he somehow managed to spook two mice and slip on wet moss during his pursuit of a squirrel. mildy annoyed by now, he took great care in ensuring he approached carefully. his newest target had wings, harder to catch once started than ground-bound animals that could outrun him or hide.
dark fur blending into his surroundings and light markings hidden as best he could, rookfire pushed forward, nearing the corvid step by step. rookfire didnt know, but it was quite the silly situation, the cat named after a corvid going for one of his namesakes larger family members.

the bird ultimately made the mistake of not listening well enough and found itself between rookfires jaws, spine crunching quietly before the animal fell silent.

Silentpaw was, well, Silent, which was to be expected. He supposed he must be getting on well as a medicine apprentice, as he didn't appear troubled. Did he ever appear troubled during their training? Hmmm.... Not really? Well, he must be fine. Sleepusunrise could be harsh, but he reckoned Silentpaw was the kind of cat that would take that in his stride. Well, he liked to hope so, at least. He always found himself worrying after his previous (and current) apprentices. Maybe it was the way almost all of them appeared to be troubled orphans, or maybe Tickpaw's disappearance had instantly put him on edge. All of them had a certain skill for not letting on anything to do with their personal life. Especially Tickpaw - the one who was worrying him most at the moment. How can a cat, a young apprentice, survive alone for so many moons, with barely any training? At that, parentless, too.

He sighed, and decided it might be best to search for some more prey. [Rolled: 1] The calico sniffled around, hoping to find anything at all, then he heard something. Aha! He remembered, on his last hunt, a squirrel had run over a branch above him - this sounded the exact same. He gazed up, and there it was. He needed to act fast this time, and actually catch it. So, he exploded upward, paws outsretched. but they didn't hit a squirrel, no... They hit thin air, and, somehow, he managed to get his legs stuck over the branch. Momentum being momentumm, he fell foreward, promptly falling face first to the floor. Would this be his curse?! Squirrels in trees?! He huffed, standing up in a haze. What a joke. He shook his fur out with a grunt, and no squirrel to show for his exploits. Ew, he spat some dirt to the floor.

Right. He'd rather have something more to show. She, he went sniffling along once again. [rolled: 12] It took him a while to find a trace of anything, perhaps the noise frm his fall had scared everything off... But, eventually he caught a trace of mouse. Couldn't be far. He trialed it, till he neared a tree, which it was scuffling beneath. Should be an easy catch. Unlike those tree-things. He lept foreward quickly, and nipped it's neck to kill it. Thanks for feeding ShadowClan, small critter. Four catches would be okay with him, if the others were done. If not, he'd keep searching.

now that the explaining was out of the way, rookfire focussed on actually finding his herbs. broom and rosemary. after both showing and describing what marigold looked like, the former medic had little worries that wildpaw wouldnt find what he was supposed to gather. it really wasnt that hard.

now that greenleaf was pretty much close enough to grasp and most plants had returned to their bright flowering selves, it wasnt really a challenge to locate some broom. bright yellow flowers mounted on long stalks. honestly the perfect herb to gather, easy to find, easy to get more than one stalk.

next up rosemary. definitely smaller than broom but still easy to find given its strong, sharp scent carried far and wide. small purple flowers adorned the needle-y leaves like dots of colour. rosemary stalks were harder to chew through, rooks tongue getting coated in bitter juices he was certain would remain stuck to his maw for the next day at least. once the enforcer had collected his final stalk, he returned to where he left the other two.

silver eyes got caught on the plants the apprentice was carefully holding almost immediately. if he was honest rookfire was nothing if not frankly impressed by the number of wrong plants wildpaw had managed to collect. what were three more dandelions? silverdusk should have enough marigold to make up for it ideally.

"put down the plants for me hm?" the enforcer requested, placing down his own collection and waiting until the apprentice had done so as well before sitting up on his hind legs and pointing at the one marigold wildpaw had actually found. "thats marigold, see how big it is? lots of ruffled petals"

his paw moved to point at the dandelions. "these are dandelions, they are flatter than marigold, see? their petals are skinny and long instead of short and ruffled as well. n that-" lastly pointing at the hop trefoil, "dunno what the hell you got here but you can show sleepysunrise when we're back, maybe she can use it anyway" the enforcer explained before picking his plants back up.

"we'll head back"
