Bearflower purred before laughing as he felt the other tom bat at his head. The brown tom spun around , prancing about a tail-length away from Pigeonfeather while laughing.

Having pulled slightly ahead, Mistfall began slowing down a bit more as the Shadowclan border came into view. She was surprised when Lionstorm as informed her that there had been kitty-pets trespassing on the territory not that long ago and was shocked that Windclan had the nerves to ignore the border like that as well. The molly shared Lionstorm's annoyance at the situation. Windclan knew better than to be trespassing on other clans and the kitty-pet must be idiots for even daring to cross into clan territory. She felt as though they could do enough patrols right now and hoped that the borders would soon become as strong as they were before Riverclan was run out. It didn't feel like they were home, having to be cautious about their own territory now in case of anything moving into their territory and the possible unseen threats.

Mistfall was extremely wary of the borders, especially after what Lionstorm said about cats trespassing. She believed that they could take some kitty-pets who wandered onto their territory, but she wasn't so sure in the case of other clan cats or even rogues. Cold gaze quickly scanned across the border multiple times, stopping when they got close enough. "Do you think that Shadowclan may cause us trouble?" Sure, Windclan hated them more than the other clans at the moment, but Riverclan still wasn't very friendly with the other clans and Shadowclan did have a reputation of being a bit sneaky. "If it's anything, I doubt that kitty-pets would go anywhere near Shadowclan, so we will most likely not have a run-in with any of their sorts," Shadowclan did not have much of a welcoming territory and doubted than kitty-pets would wander into the tall, dark pine forest. Even she didn't want to bother much with it.

Forestshade looked around warily. He wasn’t by himself he was sure of it. He detected a cat scent but couldn’t figure out if it was male or female Thunderclan or RiverClan. His brown pelt pushes past trees marking his scent. His green eyes glinted as the sun hit them. His slim build worked out for him in the way so he could easily push past trees. He jumped as a branch fell out of a tree behind him. He looked to RiverClan. I wonder if they are doing well with the sickness. He wanted to be alone but the presence of the cat never went away.

Lionstorm trotted alongside Mistfall, easily keeping up with the older warrior because of his long strides. It was nice, not having to hold back because he had some apprentice or kit tagging along-- he didn't have to restrain himself in the slightest. It was rejuvenating.

As the ShadowClan border came into view, Lionstorm approached it without hesitation, already drinking in the air. "I guess we'll see! ShadowClan cats are fickle, and with that rumor of Goldenstar's resignation in the air-- who knows what they'll do? Those frog-suckers are unpredictable."

Here, he was less concerned of kittypets trespassing, but he was on guard for others. ShadowClan, outsiders. None of them could be trusted. And... if his nose served him correctly, he could taste the distinct scent of rogue. "Do you smell that?"

Mistfall gave a small smile as Lionstorm called the Shadowclan cats 'frog-suckers'. She wouldn't normally react like that - usually rolling her eyes or ignoring the comment - but she still felt anger towards the clan for what they had done to Riverclan. So she smiled at the comment and a faint chuckle escaped, though it was practically lost in the breeze. "Yeah, they can't really be trusted. We can't turn own back to them," it didn't seem too low for a Shadowclanner to just sick their claws into one's back - either literally or figuratively - and she wasn't planning on giving them the chance. But about Goldenstar... she did not know much of the former Shadowclan leader and had no idea how their resignation would affect the clan and their actions. "Do you think they'd really do something now that Goldenstar has stepped down?"

It was only moments after she ask when Lionstorm pointed out a scent. The molly quickly took in a deep breath, trying to figure out what he was talking about. The Shadowclan scent was so strong it almost covered the scent completely to her. Almost. It wasn't something she was use to, it was something that smelled out of place. And right now, that was enough to make her fur bristle. "That's not clan," Mistfall hissed under her breath to the warrior beside her. Panic was starting to sink in. She wasn't one to be scared of a fight, but she had no clue what it was or how many were there. It must be outsider, right? Not a badger or fox? Mistfall hoped that it was just some loner or rogue.

Ears perks, she began more aware of the sound of movement. "Do you hear that?" Her voice was still low, just a whisper. She did not want to talk over the sound and did not wish to alert anything of their presence. If they were still unaware of the two cats. As the sound begun to get louder, Mistfall took a cautious step back. She wanted to be away from any bushes so that she could see them coming in case of an attack.

Lionstorm could only shrug. ShadowClan couldn't be trusted, everyone knew that. "Goldenstar was a savage like the rest of his Clan. I'm sure whoever his successor is isn't better." It was Windygale up until the battle, but Lionstorm was sure he heard gossip the ShadowClan deputy had been struck down on the battlefield by Fallenstar himself. Was it true? He didn't know, he wasn't watching Fallenstar fight off the deputies. He had faced his own opponents. "It's quite possible. They were willing to jump on the 'let's drive out RiverClan!' train."

Glancing away from the border, Lionstorm looked around curiously. The sound of pawsteps crunching through snow was getting louder, and it didn't take long for him to glimpse movement past the nearby bushes. Instinctively, he dropped into a defensive crouch, ears flattening back as he bared his teeth and snarled. "You are trespassing on RiverClan territory. Show yourself!"

Silence fell after Lionstorm's words. A tom stayed hidden, glancing at is two companions. After a few moments of thinking a wicked grin crossed his face, and stepped out. "Well hello there," his voice was dripping with venom, a dangerous look in his gaze that he did not bother to even hide. The stranger glanced from Lionstorm to Mistfall, noticing the molly for the first time. There a brief moment as he studied her before moving his gaze back to Lionstorm to study him. The molly seemed small - as though she was not fully grown - and he mistook her as someone about the age on an older apprentice. Though the scar really too him by surprise. But he assumed it was from a fight that she horrible lost and doubted she could really fight. Meanwhile, Lionstorm seemed liked more fun. He seemed as though he would be able to fight. He's more on my level, he thought, wicked grin returning.

"Now, I'm a nice guy so I'll give you a warning: either turn away, or else," in all honesty he planned on attacking them whether they decided to turn away or not. He was sick of fighting weak loners and kitty-pets, he wanted a real challenge! And Lionstorm looked as though he could prove to be one. The tom flattened his ears and took a threatening step towards the golden tabby, searching his gaze. He loved it when his prey was defiant, when they decide to fight because they though that they might have a chance of beating him. It made it more satisfying when took them down.

The loner had grown up fighting, and he believed himself to be quite good at it. But he had no idea how great the clans were when it came to fighting. They weren't some scrawny loners fighting over little things. So the tom had no clue what he was getting himself into.

The warrior knew that stealth was not an option anymore. If the creature was unaware of their presence before, they definitely knew after Lionstorm's call. A brief wave of annoyance passed. Though Mistfall shrugged it off. The creature had been heading towards them anyway. It either knew that they were there, or it would have figured out pretty quickly. It wasn't like they could just turn and leave, no matter what it was. This was their territory. They had to ensure that there were no trespassers, especially any that could be a threat. The warrior stood her ground, uncertain of what - or who - was approaching. Her gaze slid towards Lionstorm, who was now a slightly more in front of her. The silence was unnerving.

After a few moment, a tom had slid out and addressed them. She stiffened. The look on his face was a huge red-flag and she quickly turned to look at Lionstorm. It wasn't that she thought this tom could beat them - well, she didn't know how good of a fighter Lionstorm was, and she was worried about him - but it was just the dangerous look on him in general that made her nervous. She thought of Hephaestus, aware that he had a similar look, though more personal, and wondered if this stranger would be a dangerous fighter like he was. Mistfall awkwardly stayed still while he quickly looked her over and felt a little annoyed when he decided to ignore her in favor of Lionstorm, but she quickly realized that her company was likely in danger now. Despite taking a step forward, the stranger still seemed to ignore her and only spoke to Lionstorm.

The warrior felt the urge to lunge at him after his threat. Does he even know who we are?! She thought angrily, but kept it quiet. It seemed as though this may lead to a fight....

Shatteredpaw quietly snuck along the edge of Riverclan territory, pausing for a second to smell the air. it was dark, as it tends to be in leaf-bare, and there wasn't much commotion around the border.

Shatteredpaw was definitely not from Riverclan, so if she got caught, she would definitely get in trouble. Her mentor had said to patrol the border, but she didn't specify which border, or whose. So she was technically not doing anything wrong.

At least, that's what she kept saying to herself.

She hadn't done anything against the warrior code yet, so this would be the first offence, if they found out. She emphasized a lot on that if.

She sniffed the air again and prepared herself to cross into Riverclan territory. She was excited for her first real adventure- her heart was pumping, her eyes bright with excitement and her claws were out, prepared for anything. But on the outside she was calm, collected and seemed as if she belonged there.

And, somewhere, in her mind, she did believe she belonged there.

The tom nodded, and slipped into the territory with Rockclaw. Nightlake sniffed around the border, looking for some prey. While It was dangerous to hunt so close, the prey here was good, and Night was a careful hunter. he looked over at Rockclaw. "this is a good spot, i smell some water-vole"

[Im gonna have it that nightlake accidentally ran over the scentline, and one of my cats spots him, and theres an ensuing scuffle]
