A small chuckle left him as Casper left soft kisses on his face and neck. Again with the domesticity. Kyran sighed, he didn't want this to end. He liked it like this. He frowned when Casper said he had to work. Right. His job. And his house. That was two hours away. It made Ky pout. He liked it here, just him and Casper, and Fran if you wanted to count her. It was so nice. He sighed, leaning into Cas again, letting his dark curls caress his face as he pressed a kiss to the other's head again, rubbing his arm in a comforting way as he hummed in understanding.

"Ah, it's okay," He murmured gently, the movie now completely forgotten, "You're always welcome here, Cas," He purred, running his fingers thoroughly through the deep brown mass of waves that was Casper's head of hair. Despite the reassuring message, Kyran himself didn't want to have to watch Casper leave.
He gave a huff. He was comfortable. He was comfortable in Kyrans grip around his wasit. He liked his legs in his lap and his fingers running through his hair. He liked the moment of wearing Kys clothes and watching movies all day. he didnt feel like getting up, putting on a lab coat and going to work. he wanted to stay and pig out with bad food and movies and fall asleep in Kyrans lap. He leaned forward and pressed a kiss to Kyrans lips. He didnt know how busy work would get, he didnt know when hed see Ky next with both of their busy life styles. He mentally made a note to see him before the week ended. He pulled away, as there was child next to them, and gave a quick kiss to his forehead before getting up. "Im going to get dressed real quick,"

Kyran found himself flushing as Casper pressed a kiss to his lips, then another to his forehead. He hadn't expected that out of him, really, seeing as how the guy had anxiety over everything. Even last night, the... kiss, Kyran had led it, and it had taken a moment for Casper to reciprocate, although they both wanted it pretty badly that night, Casper had hesitated because of his anxiety. Kyran had seen that. Now, he just took control, he didn't stutter anymore. He seemed so... confident, around Kyran. Even on the day they'd met when Kyran started talking, Casper seemed to warm up almost immediately. It warmed his heart to think he was helping with that anxiety. He wanted to help with that anxiety. Casper didn't have to feel scared anymore.

He smiled as he watched him go, feeling a poke on his stomach and looking down at the little grinning girl in his lap and rolling his eyes, pausing the movie and standing to spin her in his arms before tucking her close.

"Pensé que no tenías sueño," Kyran tutted, messing up the girl's already messy hair.

"¡No soy!" Fran huffed with a giggled.

It was still a new thing to him, giving all of this affection, receiving all of this affection. It still gave him that giddy feeling like it wasnt real or something. But everytime he kissed Kyran it was only reassurance. It was something to get used to, but he already felt so comfortable around him he didnt think it would take long. He slipped into Kyrans room where his clothes were and got dressed. He frowned, Kys clothes were really comfy. Maybe because they were like 3 sizes to big Casper was reluctant to take em off. He fixed his hair in a mirror as much as he could. He walked through the hall way and made his way to the door, but stopped and rested a hand on Kyrans arms and gave a smile,"I'll call you later, okay?" It seemed a lot had happened in the matter of two days. Casper came over thinking he was going to be going home the next day with nothing to show for it. Going on with his day denying his feelings and not being able to explain them. He felt sad to leave, but Casper was the kind of guy that would probably be over his house again in a matter for days.

A small smile broke out over Kyran's face, Fran squirming to slide out of his arms, so he let her. She ran back to the bedroom with Fuego on her heels, leaving just Ky and Cas in the room. He chewed the inside of his lip, shoving his hands in his pockets and walking Casper to the door with a hesitant hand on the handle. He swung the door open, taking a bow for Casper to leave. He really, really didn't want him to go, but even after everything that happened, Casper had his own life he had to take care of. A life two hours away. Thinking about it gave Kyran a stab of sadness in his chest, so he stopped. He'd had a good night with Casper, though their time together was short and spread out, he appreciated what they shared. He licked his lips at the thought of their kiss, feeling his face start to warm up. He couldn't help it, he just liked Casper. Loved him. Felt like he'd finally found something he'd been looking for after a thousand years. He leant against the threshold, crossing his arms over his chest.

"I am sad to see you go, cariño," He purred with a chuckle, brushing a dark wave from his eyes, looking at the floor. He wanted to kiss him again, but he was afraid. He didn't know why. He just felt like he should let Casper take control.

He wish he didnt have to leave, it really sucked ass. A few weeks ago he didnt mind that he lived two hours away, he had no reason to live in this part of town. He didnt have a life here. But that was before. Now, he had Kyran here. He had a life here, he had memories here that even if it was for a few days he didnt want to part from. He didnt want to part from his apartment, his kisses, the way his arms held him. He wanted to drop everything and just stay. He loved his job, it was fast paced and a busy field to be working in. But for once, Casper just wanted to slow down and stay put. He didnt know what compelled him to, but he grabbed the collar of Kyrans sweater and gave a good tug so he was down to his shorter height, and eagerly pressed his lips against his. He furrowed his brow and let his eyes close, bringing his other hand to tangle itself in Kyrans thick wavy hair.

Kyran yet out a yelp at being tugged down, about to say something before Casper's lips sealed his own. Out of shock, he hesitated but soon found himself kissing him back, a small smile playing on his lips as he moved his hands to cup Casper's face with a gentle fragility unmatched to any thing he'd held anything before. He held him like if he were to hold on too rough he'd break him, but if he didn't hold him at all he would still hurt him. Deft fingers across his jawline, thumbs across his cheeks so he didn't lose him. It wasn't as explosive or passionate as the kiss the night before, but the love was still there, the blatant devotion and fondness of one another. It would be strange to say, but the kiss, it was so familiar. Not familiar like they did it yesterday, but familiar like an echo of a memory. The way their lips moved like they'd done this before, like a scene in a play, rehearsed and never forgotten. The way Kyran just lost himself in the way Casper kissed him, the way he just let him take control. It felt so comfortable to him, in a way that put him at ease. It confused him, but Kyran learnt to not question these things, for if you did, you might miss out on what exactly they meant.

Slowly, he forced himself to pull away, breathing just a little bit laboured, hand still so gentle on Casper's skin. His smile was crooked and he averted his eyes, face burning. He pulled away, shoving his hands in his pockets. Casper just made him so shy, so nervous. He didn't understand that, either, but he would say he liked it anyway. He licked his lip and flashed him a grin. He thought of saying goodbye, but it seemed it had already been said. He pursed his lips and tilted his head as he leaned against the doorway again.

Kyran chuckled nervously, pausing for a few seconds before giving Casper a questioning look with narrowed eyes, "Let's go out, cariño," He offered, "Like... a date."

It felt like dejavu. He had only met Kyran a little over a week ago, but it felt like he knew him longer then that at the same time. When he pulled away he was left breathless, returning Kys grin with a sheepish smile. Though the question peaked his interest. A date? He hadnt been on a date in...actually, Casper wasnt even sure he had ever been on a proper date. Most of the people he dated in highschool didnt treat him well at all. Kyran would be the first. He gave a nervous smile and nodded, "A d-date sounds nice. I'd love to go out with you." he didnt know why he felt nervous, he could makeout with the guy effortlessly yet when it came to more relationship type things it gave him slight anxiety. But, he had to get over it. Kyran wouldnt hurt him in anyway, he trusted him. "Ive never been on a date before," he gave a nervous laugh, avoiding Kyrans gaze for a moment,"just tell me the day and I'll take the day off for you."

He couldn't help but snort, did Casper really take him for someone who's been on a date before? He's barely kissed anyone, let alone date them, nothing even close to what he had with Casper already. He rubbed the back of his neck, chewing the inside of his cheek out of embarrassment.

"Sorry to disappoint, but neither have I," He admitted, pulling at the overgrown hairs on the back of his neck, "It will be in a few days, you know when Fran is back with my sister," He said with an affirmative nod. He couldn't help but get giddy. Just being able to be with Casper, something private and romantic, something he knew Casper deserved. Something he felt like Casper hadn't gotten in a long time. He didn't know why it was just an itching feeling. He pressed a quick kiss to the corner of Casper's lips.

"I'll speak with you later, Casper," He said, getting off of the threshold and taking a few steps back, nearly stumbling over Fran, who peeked out from behind his legs. She gave Casper one of her heart-melting grins.

"Adiós, Tío Casper!" She chirped.

Kyran's face burned and he picked the girl up, giving her a frown and a mock disapproving look, giving an embarrassed smile to Casper, "Adiós."

Kyrans never been on a date before? Casper couldnt help but let his mouth gape for a second. Kyran was a well known male model in a busy city, and he hasnt been on one date? Casper felt slightly honored. his cheeks flushed at Frans comment. Uncle Casper. Still had a nice ring to it. He gave a small smile and gave a small wave to Fran,"See you babe." he chirped, shifting his bag over his shoulder and walking towards the elevator. He could help but have a pep to his step. A date. A date with Kyran. The thought left him giddy in his stomach like a school girl.

Shutting the door, Kyran turned to the mischevious little girl in his arms and tutted, to which she only replied with a giggle, wrapping her arms around Kyran's neck. He couldn't help but smile at the ridiculous act. With a sigh, he walked back to the couch, picking up the remote and starting the movie over again, this time turning it to the Spanish dub, grabbing some snacks for Fran out of his cabinet for her while he went on with his day. He didn't exactly take the day off, he just told his employees he would be working from home for a couple days because he didn't want to leave Fran at a daycare or let her tag along to the store. He made himself a cup of coffee while Fran watched the movie in the living room, sitting down at his laptop again and opening it to probably a hundred more emails. He groaned, opening the first one.

Although, as much as Ky worked. He couldn't get the thought of Casper out of his head. Not just the kiss or the fondness, but also Casper himself. The beachy waves of dark hair, the puddles of olive green that were his eyes, the freckles that dotted his skin like stars across a navy sky. His voice. Not just the accent, but his voice. The way it was soft and melodic and reminded him of a damp spring morning and a paperback book. It consumed him. Kyran found himself staring blankly at an email. He read it over and over, but he couldn't figure out what came after 'Dear Mr Gonzalez'. When he tried replying, he would write the greeting, but ended up just staring at a blank letter with a blinking line for a couple of minutes as his mind was drawn back to Casper. A date. Really? What was Kyran even going to do for that? He had never been on a date, much less organised one. Not having a plan stressed him out. He pulled up a Word document on his computer and started typing out date ideas. Better late than never.

The drive home felt long. Longer then when he was on his way to Kyrans house. he took the shortest way home, not wanting to be in the quiet for very long. It felt weird from going to loving touches and sweet petnames and frans giggles to..silence. He turned on the radio to fill in the gap. There was something about Kyran that just seemed...familiar. When he took a look at his polaroids something sparked in that moment. Though he couldnt really look at them for a long time, ever since it left him thinking. When he kissed Kyran he hesitated, but felt fireworks. He blew it off as being nervous to kiss somebody but..Casper didnt know if that was the truth. He turned up the radio louder. He kept his mind thinking though. It kept wandering back to the cliffside. Soon he was home, pulling into his driveway. It was late afternoon, he guessed this was going to be a late night at work. He turned off his car and got out, locking it. He had neighbors of course, Luna and Mie. He talked to them occasionally, not much though but he could call them friends. They both looked to be sitting in their porch and talking, giggling at whatever the topic was. He piped up, voice loud enough for them to hear from where they were sitting,"When did you guys get married?" he couldnt help but give a giggle of his own after he said that. Hed constantly joke about them being together, no matter how much they both denied it.

It took a while, really, deciding what the date would be. Kyran would say he was a simple guy, but if he was completely honest, he is the definition of extra. If he was taking Casper on a date, he was going to make sure it was one he'd never forget. The kind that you'd text your exes just to compare them to it and how they never treated you so right. The kind that would be a reminder, every day, for the rest of his life, that he was going to treat Casper right until death do they part. It was only when Kyran made a final decision did he start wondering why he wanted to treat Casper so well. Don't get him wrong, he'd treat the guy amazingly anyway, but since they'd met, Kyran was always trying to outdo himself, like it held some sort of high importance to him, he just had zero idea why it would in the first place. Even at the cliffside, the position had been so oddly reminiscent, and he couldn't put his finger on why. The fondness, the familiarity. Even when Kyran realised he'd fallen for the guy, he hadn't wondered why it had happened so fast, or why it had felt like he found exactly who he had been looking for after a thousand years of looking. It was sort of unsettling. But he just shook his head, dialling a number on his phone to make a reservation.

Casper made his way inside with a small huff. He was home. It was quiet. He wanted to turn around and go back to Kyrans place already, but he knew he couldnt. He had a few hours before having to go to work, he took the time to put his bag down and make his way to the wall that held Ciphers terrarium. Reaching under it he grabbed her food, dried dead mice before taking same out and feeding them to her. It wasnt gross to him, he was a biologist after all, hes seen worse. He leaned his hand in and gave small pets to her cool scales before putting her food away and shutting her lid. Above the snake tank, were many shelves that held little knick knacks and photos. He let his eyes roam them, but one caught his eye. It was probably taken during high school, he looked so young. He had long hair before it was chopped off, had the bright red circle glasses and nerdy out look. he smiled, but it went away quickly when seeing the person the photo was taken with. The boy had red dyed hair, to bright to miss, piercing all over him. Casper couldnt remember his name, but they seemed happy in that photo. They were smiling, the boys arm around his shoulder. Casper narrowed his eyes at the photo, grabbing it and taking a closer look. He couldve sworn he saw the same boy on Kyrans photo wall. The thought gave him chills. he quickly put the photo back on the shelf and pushed away the thought. It wasnt possible, Casper had seen wrong. he didnt have a good glimpse at the photo wall Ky had anyway. He shrugged it off and grabbed his lab coat and walked out the door. Hed work early today.

Almost another week after that, Edi picked up Fran two days ago, and now Kyran was stressing over the date he'd taken an entire day up just planning and scheduling. It was going to be a nice date, Kyran was good at that sort of thing, and he himself had no idea why he was so nervous about it. Casper had agreed to it, and everything was to go as planned. There was nothing holding them back. Ky had even texted Casper the night before, albeit at a concerning hour of the night, to make sure he could make it so he wouldn't have to cancel. Everything was going to be perfect. He kept repeating that. Everything was going to be perfect. Everything was going to be perfect.

"Everything is going to be perfect," Kyran murmured, adjusting the maroon tie he'd just knotted around his neck. He folded his collar down neatly, making sure the tie was hidden. He slipped on a black vest over his dark button-up, threading the buttons through their holes and smoothing down his chest. He adjusted his cuffs before shrugging on his suit jacket and buttoning it down, smoothing over the deep red handkerchief in the pocket. He stared at himself in the mirror and ran deft fingers over his groomed and styled hair. Well-dressed. It had been a while since Kyran himself had even seen himself like this, only dressing up a few times. Once for a photoshoot, and again for a fancy dinner. However, this time felt different.

This time, Kyran wasn't dressing up for someone to take exaggerated pictures of him. This time, Kyran wasn't uncomfortable or trying too hard to impress people. No, this time, Kyran was dressing for himself. He wanted to look nice. He was dressing for Casper. He wanted him to see that he was willing. He was dressing up, not to prove anything to just anyone or feel good about himself. He was dressing up to prove something to Casper, and he had no idea why.

Everything was paid for in advance, so all Kyran needed was his cell phone and keys, which he slipped into his pockets. He slipped on his dress shoes and made sure he had everything before leaving his apartment and locking it with a click. He'd received the arrival text from his rental five minutes ago. He was in no rush, he had made sure the arrangements were arriving just a tad early so they wouldn't be late. He went down the elevator as fast as it would let him, giving an absentminded wave to Melissa at the front desk (who only rose a brow before going back to her magazine) before hurrying out the door. The sleek black rental was waiting on the curb, the driver giving a wave before wheeling around the side to open the door for him. Kyran gave an affirmative nod as he slipped into the backseat easy on the leather surface. The driver shut the door and came back around to sit in the driver's seat, starting the car and sliding a sound proof barrier between themselves and his passengers to ensure privacy.

Casper breath. Breath. Its going to be fine. Thats what the boy was trying to tell himself, staring in the mirror. He hadnt worn this suit in years, probably since highshool and it still fit his small frame. The suit was a deep grey color, a button up shirt under neath with a splash of green in his bowtie that made his eyes pop. Eyes scanning the mirror he sighed, turning on the sink, wetting his fingers and running them through his thick hair. Didnt change one bit. His hair was untamable, curls fluffing out like usual. He took off his glasses, shoving them in his pocket and putting his contacts in. He wanted to look nice, and circular golden rims werent going to do that. He checked his phone, seeing that Kyran texted him that he left. It would be a bit before he got here since it was a bit of a drive, but the thought made him melt. He wouldve offered to drive down there himself instead, but Kyran had insisted on picking him up. His cheeks became heated at the thought. Kyran was too good for him. He picked up his phone, texting Carmen updates she had begged to be updated with.
¨Im all dressed and ready, hes coming to pick me up.¨
as if on que, Carmen texted back right away ecstatically,¨I so happy for u dude ! dont do anything i wouldnt do¨
he raised an eyebrow,¨You dont even like guys.¨
¨Thats not the point¨
he rolled his eyes, giving a content sigh,¨Looks like my connections bad, ill text you later¨
¨funny joke, good luck on your date nerd. tell me about it after¨
With that he put his phone away and made his way out of the bathroom. Thoughts wandered in his head. What if something bad happened on the date? What if Kyran stood him up and didnt pick him up at all? What if it was a pity date?
No.
He was over thinking things like usual. Instead giving a small sigh and leaning against his front door in waiting. It was nerve wracking. He hadnt been on a date in years, hadnt been in in a relationship for the longest time. Hadnt thought about anybody in the way he looked at Kyran. Despite his insecurity, he couldn't help but feel safe when with him. He didnt even know what Kyran had planned for the date, but he trusted that it would be perfect, it was easy to sweep Casper off of his feet. And he was positive Kyran would do that with ease.

It was dark, but he could still make out the picture clearly. Between Kyran's fingers was a Polaroid off of his wall, one of the smaller ones from an older camera. The colour was faded, but he still knew what it was. There was no denying the neon red hair and obnoxious piercings were him, and he had a pretty good idea of who freckles was next to him. He just wanted to be sure. He had to be sure. He didn't want to make another mistake. It would make a lot of things make a lot of sense, but he still had to be sure. It could just be pure coincidence. He slid the photograph back into the inside of his jacket, eyes staring blankly out the window, his mind completely blank. He didn't notice the passing of time, choking down a yelp as the chauffeur opened his door for him to get out.

Stepping out of the car, he looked up at the address Casper had given him. This was the place. Nice, too, definitely... Casper-esque. He smoothed down his chest and straightened his tie, running deft fingers over his hair and rounding the car to the house, hopping up the steps and pressing the doorbell. He folded his arms behind his back and forced himself to relax, placing on a soft smile and gentle eyes as he waited for Casper to answer.

Shoving his hand in his pocket he felt around, feeling his glasses, wallet, phone, ect. But made sire that the polaroid he had found on his shelves was there too. He had found it a week or two ago, and he couldnt help but remember the same red hair on Kyrans polaroid wall. If it was..him, what would he even do? Force himself to go back into a time period he had desperately tried to forget? The bullying, the names, the beating up...Kyran. He had desperately tried to forget about everything, to leave it all behind. Cj was the only thing he stuck with after highschool, leaving everything else behind. He jumped hearing the doorbell, shoving the picture back in his pocket and waiting for a moment to open the door, opening it with a flushed face a a sheepish smile. He opened his mouth to say something, but stopped when seeing Kyran. Okay he did not deserve this. He let his mouth gape for a moment, face flushing red. Kyran really went all the way, didnt he? Dressed nicely, hair slicked back and hiding the waves that Casper adored. After a moment he realized he was staring, giving a smile and closing the door behind him as he stepped outside. He couldnt help but melt under Kyrans gaze,¨Hey,¨ he said sheepishly, gently taking one of Kyrans hands in his own, intertwining their fingers so easily,¨you look r-really handsome.¨

Kyran had only been staring at the ground as he waited for Casper to answer the door. He'd thought Casper had cancelled last minute, but then heard the click of dress shoes approach the door, and soon after that the familiar face stepped out. Kyran would never admit it, but upon pulling his gaze from the floor to his date, his breath hitched and his face burned. Casper looked... pretty amazing, actually. Dressed up in a well-fit suit, his hair still untamable [though the effort in trying showed], wearing contacts instead of glasses that showed off his pretty eyes. It made Kyran's heart skip a beat if it surely hadn't stopped. He had heard Casper say something and felt him take his hand but found his own mind completely blank. He couldn't help but stare. Just as everything else, this night felt like history repeating itself. Realising he'd been silently ogling Casper for an uncomfortable amount of time, he cleared his throat, letting out a short, smooth chuckle.

"Gracias," He purred, bowing and bringing Casper's knuckles to his lips, "You look..." Kyran paused, brows furrowing as he searched his mind for the word. The English word, of course. What was it? He chewed his lip, copper eyes dropping as his face burned white hot in embarrassment. He couldn't for the life of him remember the English word.

"Usted mira... mi dios, cuál es la palabra...hermoso, guapo, asombroso...." He murmured to himself, the term still not surfacing, so he went with his closest guess, "Maravilloso!" He chuckled nervously. Smooth. He straightened himself and let his fingers tangle with Casper's. This is okay. Everything is okay.

He doubted his face could heat up anymore at Kyrans words, but he brushed them off as mixed up translation. ¨T-thank you.¨ usually hed be stuttering because he was nervous or uncomfortable, but there was a never ending smile on his face as he gazed up at Kyran, flushing when he pressed a kiss to his knuckles. He stuttered because he was nervous, but in a giddy way. Like whenever your crush looks at you and you get to steal a glance at them. He could feel affectionate butterflies in his stomach. Just a few minutes ago he was nervous as hell about this, but he could feel that nervousness slip away as he felt Kyrans gentle copper gaze on him. Looking past Kyran, Casper saw a glimpse of a very expensive looking car with a man, who also wore a suit, waiting patiently. He raised an eyebrow before softening and looking towards his Boyfriend again,¨Love..did you really rent a car and everything for m-me?¨ He felt warmed knowing Kyran would do something like that for him, and only made him wonder what the rest of the night was going to be like. Kyran had decided to plan for it, despite Casper insisting that he help some, Kyran wanted it to be a surprise. But if this was good right now, he couldnt imagine later.

Kyran looked away sheepishly, unable to hide his smile from the endearing word laced with Casper's accent. It just felt so... nice to have him call him that. It sent an invisible shudder jutting almost violently up his spine, making him give Casper's hand a squeeze as he laughed his genuine, musical laughter and tugged Casper towards the car, pressing the back of his free hand to his face. It was surprising how he wasn't basically on fire from the heat it was producing. He took a few silent deep breaths to steady himself.

"Of course, cariño," He stated simply, "Only the best for you, mi amor." This was it. This was it. The thing he'd been stressing over for days and he was taking it like a champ, smooth as can be. Everything would be okay. The chauffeur gave a greeting nod to Casper, reaching to the passenger door and holding it open for the pair of them, taking a bow as they passed.

Casper smiled, standing up his tippy toes in order to press a small kiss to Kyrans cheek. Pulling away he eagerly got into the car. He had never been treated to a date before, much less one starting out as fancy as this. It..made him feel special. He couldnt help but be a bit flustered at how much this was costing Kyran, or how much planning he would have had to do, but decided to not think about that at the moment and enjoy the moment, gazing lovingly over to Kyran, smile never fading. ¨It..really means a lot that youd do this for me, Im so plain and and simple.¨ he looked down towards the seat for a moment. Compared to Kyran, he was plain. He wasnt a model, didnt look like one either, wasnt well known to the public, and so on. Kyran was just so...beautiful. Both inside and out, and Casper couldnt help but voice that,¨Makes me feel special.¨ he gave a shy smile, tucking a loose curl behind his ear.

The driver gave a warm smile to Kyran and closed the door behind him as the Latino slid in beside his companion. He could feel the warmth spreading from his cheeks down his neck and up to his ears, and was glad he'd decided on a classier night date rather than a day one for the fact that Casper couldn't see his face bloom into a harsh red-pink in the dark. He chuckled sweetly at Casper's comment, brushing a stray clump of hair from his face despite it falling back anyways, not even trying to hide the shy smile that spread from cheek to cheek, revealing his deep dimples that so rarely popped up unless his smile was genuine.

"Well, you are special, no?" He said as the engine turned over and the car began to pull away from the side of the road, following the direction of the restaurant, "It is only appropriate."

The car ride was mostly silent, aside from the gentle hum of the engine and the soft voices on the radio that neither of the passengers could really hear. It was a sort of pleasant silence, really. The awkwardness was one-sided, and it definitely wasn't on Harper's side. He only hummed a soft, familiar song while drumming deft fingers along the steering wheel. Parent/Teacher Conferences, they still had them in high school.
Harper never really disliked the concept, he just thought that perhaps now the kids would be old enough not to have their parent still do that sort of thing anymore. Blake would agree, the whole ordeal was sort of embarrassing. She was top of her class in almost every subject, if not number one, definitely in the top three. She had no idea what this meeting had been about, it was just that Mr. McCormick had sent her father a very... vague and faintly ominous email that had something about her performance in class in it. The thought made her anxiety skyrocket.

There was another long pause before Harper decided to speak, "You anxious?" He asked absentmindedly, waiting for the light to turn green.

Blake huffed and folded her arms, the old bat could read her without even looking at her, "It said something about my grades, Dad! Of course,
I'm anxious."

Harper winced, "Sorry, I'm sure it's nothing wrong. You know you're smart."

The girl didn't answer, just kept looking out the window, eyes staring blankly out of the glass. The car started to move, they turned a corner,
and soon the high brick walls of her school came into view and she felt like vomiting, her palms growing damp, and a certain familiar fluttering in her chest that made her want to rip her heart out. Awesome.

He couldnt help but feel spoiled. No one had ever treated him to something like this. It was a new feeling, thats for sure. After clicking on a seatbelt he took one of Kyrans hands in his own again, intertwining their fingers instinctivly,"You sure know how to sweep me off my f-feet." He didnt know how to reply to Kys comment about him being special, or that he deserves this type of treatment. Honestly, he was told the ooposite in relationships. That he wanted to much, that he was to much, and so on. So, in sum of it, hes always thought he didnt deserve that much. It might been a small comment to Kyran, but it meant a lot to Casper, this meant a lot to Casper.

Ever since School had recently started, things had been in slight mayhem for Theodore. Getting used to actually having to wake up at 5am every day and grade papers constantly to keeping track of every single student. He taught english, one of the main core subjects next to Mathematics. He didnt see the appeal when working with numbers, finding more joy in literature and creative writing. He made his class fun,he tried atleast, giving more freedom compared to the students past English teachers. Hes here to guide them, not make them memorize dumb vocab words and give them a passing grade. He taught English of course, standard, honors and AP classes for multiple grades and some half semester classes like creative writing or film studies. It was a lot to handle, but Theo managed it all. To keep himself organized he kept close eye on his students grades and Blake Timmermann had caught his eye. Not in a bad way of course, the last name was familiar to a teacher that subbed here a few times. When looking at her grades from her past and her past exam grade, he could tell that she needed a better placement. She was already in his honors class and despite being one of his younger students, he could tell she should be placed in his AP period. So he had sent a brief email to her guardian.

Usually it didnt need a whole parent teacher conference over, but with such a rigorous and fast paced course such as this and transferring to it randomly was going to get some getting used to, not to mention of Blakes grades remained at the top of her class like they already were, she would in no time be getting a scholarship recommendation from himself to possible schools. It wasnt something he could simply write out in a long email, it would take a bit of planning for her to be transferred, but it was exciting nonetheless. When it came to parent teacher confrences Theo was always nervous, he was always like that when one on one with somebody else or talking to people in general. But this would be a simple 30 minute comference, possibly longer. Simple. Nothing to worry about.

Kyran clicked his seatbelt in and reciprocated the hand hold, giving a small squeeze as he relaxed against the seat. He was happy Casper had given him a chance, though Kyran seriously doubted he deserved it. He usually avoided dating, mostly because he wasn't super successful in making real friends, let alone a real partner, and because he felt as if everyone who wanted to date him was only dating him for financial reasons and the such. But Casper didn't know him, didn't live in town, didn't order from his shop. If Kyran hadn't told him, Casper wouldn't have even known he was successful until the last minute. Of course, there was also the fact that Casper just felt so... familiar, so soothing, so right somehow. It was almost infuriating.

A nervous chuckle left him as he let his eyes train on the dark shapes outside, "What can I say? I'm a... hopeless romantic, no? Isn't that what they say in English?"

Harper stepped out of the car and squinted through the harsh sunlight to the familiar brick building. It was Blake's second year here, and he had subbed there a few times, so it was fairly easy to navigate. He wheeled around the passenger side and opened the door for Blake to get out. After a bit of coaxing, she did, though she did look a tad bit pale. He put a hand on his hip and she put her hand through the loop out of habit. After a few soft words of reassurance, Blake nodded, and the two headed for the school, the car alarm chirping behind them.

"Okay, so if this isn't about bad grades, then what could it be about?" Blake blurted out as if it were one of the many questions waiting to burst from her lips.

Harper chuckled, but didn't sigh, giving the girl's short black hair a ruffle,
"Maybe you're a super genius, and they're taking you to a government facility to experiment on you!" He said in an exaggerated tone.

Blake snorted, brushing the now messy hair out of her eyes, "Not funny,
Dad!" She pouted with a grin.

"It's hilarious," Harper replied plainly as they pushed through the doors and passed through the commons, turning up the stairs and heading toward the familiar English classroom.

Blake tried to anchor herself a good few feet away from the door but failed miserably as Harper tugged her along. The door was open, so he paused in the threshold and rapped his knuckles against the metal frame a few times.

Casper gave a small hum in response, letting his head lean on Kyrans shoulder. It was a new feeling, honestly. He didnt get out much, and when he did it was only to drive to and back from work. It was hard being on work 24/7 for a hospital(of course he had his pager hooked to the side of his belt). So it was nice to just..find someone outside of all of that. Outside of the busy hours of work, outside of the constant pages and workers that need him. Outside of the hectic white walls of the hospital, to simply have a night out with his boyfriend. He couldnt remember the last time he had gone out into the city, but it felt so nice and so familiar at the same time to go out with Kyran like this.

//

Theo gazed at his desk for a moment, papers scattered every where in a disoragnized-organized fashion. Once hearing a knock on the metal frame he perked up, tucking a stray ginger curl from his face behind his ear, perching up is glasses further up his nose.¨Come in!¨ he gentle called out, grabbing a folder labeled ¨AP STUDENTS¨ on it and a few other papers and making his way over to a table. It had comfy chairs on either side. His classrooms werent like others, not painted a crisp white with no personality. The walls were decorated with movie posteres that related to the text they would be reading this year and other academic posters, there seemed to be a small section of the library itself in one corner of his room with lamps littered around the room. Though a whole section of one wall was only windows, no curtains to cover them. They were open, letting the fall breeze come through and the light filter in. Because of this, Theos lights were off and let natural light take over, he claimed it was a more relaxed writing environment. He sat down across from another set of chairs with a small smile, setting the folder and papers on the table. Accent thick, he spoke,¨You must be Mr.Timmermann?¨

Kyran smiled as Casper leaned on him, pressing in close so they could feel each others' warmth on one another. It was nice. Getting away from the hustle of city life, getting away from being the boss, getting away from being what counted as a "celebrity." It was nice just to be a person, not someone's model or newest headline. He let his arms wrap around the smaller man, leaning his head on top of the fluffy brunette curls that formed a bed for his face, curving around his sharp edges. He certainly lost track of time in the moment, because soon enough, the engine was being turned off and the door opening to let the two of them out.

The chauffeur let Kyran out first, the Latino giving a soft thanks before turning and extending his hand out to help Casper out, too. He squinted up at the building. Dimly lit, though it was brighter when it wasn't completely rented out for a night. It was elegant, the name of it printed neatly in cursive above the door in small print, and a fairly long rules plaque bolted beside the door. It was all white with pillars and engravings everywhere. There was a single doorman holding the door open for the both of them at the front.

The man beamed and nodded, "Yes! And, Mr. McCormick, I presume?" He said in a mixed, thick accent that could give one a headache if they focused on it too long. It would be like trying to separate cake batter.

Harper had to basically drag Blake into the room and into the comfortable chairs across from the other man. He sat down softly and yanked Blake down next to him, who was gripping onto his arm so hard her knuckles were beginning to turn white. The room was nice, definitely different than most of the crisp, hospital-esque classrooms most teachers had. Harper liked it. He sat up straight and neat, placing his hands in his laps and putting on his most charming smile. Not too fake, like the sort he used at work with difficult customers, but not super genuine either. Definitely out of politeness. Blake forced the same.

Casper gazed in awe towards the restaurant, another silent reminder of how much work Kyran had put into this. If it wasnt for Kyrans fingers locked between his he wouldve thought this was a dream honestly. Its something you see in movies, a rented car, a rented out restaurant to yourselves. It only left Casper with the dorkiest grin on his face, looking over to the taller man next to him. He didnt know what you say honestly, hopefully his eyes and smile would tell enough about how he was feeling. No one had really done anything like this for him before, he hadnt even been on a date ! He let his own workds repeat in his mind, I feel special. He really did honestly, something he hadnt really felt before.

//

Theo nodded with a hum, fingers tapping against the table for a moment. He looked towards Blake, sensing her nervousness with ease, could practically taste it. He simply gaze a small chuckle, opening the AP folder,¨Just to reassure you this is not a bad meeting, quiet the opposite.¨ he spoke softly, looking down towards the open folder and taking a paper out from it. It was a paper that held the percentages of Blakes exam and test scores from freshman year, every category marked above proficient. He slid the paper over to Harper,¨I dont know who Blakes Freshman English teacher was, but I believe she should be in English AP classes rather then honors, shes beyond qualified for it and even recommended, yet they still stuck her in my honors class.¨

Staring at it a moment, Kyran chewed his lip. Had he gone too far? Was this too much? He'd put so much work into it, he never thought about how Casper might feel about such an extravagant date. He opened his mouth to speak as he turned towards the younger man, but almost instantly clamped his mouth shut. The way Casper looked at him like he had the universe in his eyes, the way he smiled like he just couldn't help it. Kyran couldn't stop a mile wide grin from spreading across his face, too. He held his hand just a little tighter before taking a deep breath and letting the driver shut the door. After tipping them quickly, he gently lead Casper to the front doors.

Harper hummed as the took the papers between his fingers, honey-amber eyes skimming over the contents. He rose a brow and gave a side glance at Blake, who seemed to either be avoiding his gaze or completely frozen. Either way, it had him just a bit more than a little worried. Setting the papers down, he tapped Blake's shoulder.

Quicker than you could blink, Blake snatched the paper and skimmed over it just as quickly, brows furrowed together, lips pressed together in confusion. She seemed to look over the notes a few times before looking up at her teacher.

"Your email was very vague and ominous, Mr. M," She explained, looking over the paper one more time before gently setting it on the table and sliding it back over to her teacher and standing up, "I'll be right back." And with that, she turned and calmly left the room. With the school so silent, you could hear her feet slapping against the floor of the hallway and quiet noises that sounded like a giddy five-year-old.

Casper was like a giddy kid, slightly swinging his arms between him and Kyran as they made their way into the restaurant. He rubbed his thumb against Kyrans larger knuckles, silent appreciation. Cas knew if he opened his mouth hed only gush on and on about how Kyran didnt have to do all of this for him, that he most likely didnt deserve it and a simple date would have been enough for him, that he wasnt special. But he reminded himself that Kyran thought he was special, and thats all that mattered. So hed push aside his worries and enjoy the work Kyran had done for this. He could tell his cheeks were red, not because he was flustered or nervous like before, but simply because of that familiar buzzing, giddy feeling inside of him that made him want to pull Kyran aside and just kiss him. It was what pure happiness felt like, he decided.

//

Theo raised an eyebrow hearing the soft giggly noises coming from the hallway, giving another chuckle. ¨She seems happy,no?¨ it wasnt often that he offered Freshman or Sophomores AP spots in his classes, most students had to wait till their Junior or Senior year. But he could tell by Blakes history she was a smart kid. Blue eyes gazed at Harper for a moment, he seemed familiar. Possibly a teacher here of some sort? He could have sworn he had seen him in the halls before. He looked down and pulling out another paper, sliding it over.¨This is a scholarship recommendation sheet,¨ he said. The paper had the information about offering from the school, phone numbers to call, websites to visit, ect. Everything seemed to be filled out except for a signature at the bottom for Theodore to sign.¨If her grades stay the way they are, Ill be signing it by the end of the year.¨ Theo had always been known as one of the hardest teachers to please. Mainly because his class was so free with what you could do, it was hard for students to catch on and excel in his class. He almost never offered scholarships, but Blake was an exception.

Kyran could feel the excitement and appreciation practically radiating off of Casper, a shy smile worming its way onto his face and revealing his light dimples. He gave Casper's hand a gentle squeeze, still feeling nervous about this whole thing. He was hopeful, but even when things go right they can always go wrong. Besides, if Casper was who Kyran thought he was, he didn't want to make a mistake. Not again. He was going to be careful this time. He was going to be better this time. If not for his own sake, Casper's. The two might know more about one another than they realise, and that scared Kyran a little, but he shook it off. He could do this. A second chance. He could do this.

Once reaching the door, the doorman opened it, taking a deep bow and ushering the pair in. Inside, it was quiet. So quiet, you could hear a pin drop. As was expected, the place was grand and elegant, definitely not the sort of place even Kyran would eat at for any occasion. But this was something more than just a special occasion to him. The walls and ceilings were tall and a crisp white, fancy designs carved into bits and pieces of it with large, arched windows with wine red curtains that matched the deep red floors. There were few tables, and only one set up with candles, tablecloths, and a small assortment of eating utensils. Kyran barely knew fancy restaurant etiquette, so he didn't pay much mind to it. There was a quiet band playing some classical music in the background, and as Kyran approached the large dining room, a slender man in a sharp suit stepped up to him, directing the two to the single table in the middle of the room, as if they wouldn't know which one to go to.

His breath was starting to catch in his throat. Was this too much? Of course, Kyran was wanting to show Casper he cared to make a whole show of something that might have sounded small, but perhaps it seemed like all he was doing was showing off. Anxiety coiled in his stomach like a snake, fangs flashing, tongue spitting, ready to strike. He tightened his hand into a fist in his pocket, taking a few deep breaths and forcing calm to flood over him. It would be fine. This was his one chance and if he messed up he'd be ruined forever, but he knew he could do it this time. He wouldn't mess up again.

Harper watched, almost embarrassed, as his daughter left in a flash. Always excitable, Blake. A nervous chuckle left him as he turned back to Mr McCormick and flashed his kind smile, eyes glancing down at the scholarship sheet. It wasn't unexpected, really. Blake had always been smart, definitely smarter than most, so her getting this offer so early on would probably mean the most to her. His deft fingers slid the paper closer, skimming over it quickly before looking up at Mr McCormick.

"I'm sure she'll thank you for this opportunity, Mr McCormick," He said with his kind smile, sitting back and awaiting Blake's return. It wasn't very often she would explode like this, so he would let her live in the moment. Folding his hands in his lap, he raised his chin and met eyes with Mr McCormick, his face calm and fairly emotionless.

The hallways of the school were not unfamiliar to him, in fact, he actually works as a substitute on some occasions when the algebra and geometry teacher needed it. Really, he's surprised he's never formally met Mr McCormick, but he was happy to have the pleasure. He seemed like a nice fellow.

wow.
casper wasn't expecting this if all things. a rented out restaurant, the soft music, just.everything. he couldn't help but gaze around the place for a moment, olive green eyes looking around in wonder.soon his eyes fell to the man next to him(as gorgeous as everything looked, nothing could really top kyran). after dealing with so many patients it was easy for him to see distress, whether it was emotional or physical. he returned the squeeze to his hand by tracing his thumb over the soft skin before bringing it up to his lips, pressing a soft kiss to his knuckles in gentle reassurance. ¨i dont know what to really say,i mean,¨ he sounded almost shy, going back to the same tone of voice that he used when Kyran first met him,but some how warmer. he wasn't stuttering, wasnt nervous, infact he couldn't keep the small smile off of his face. ¨its perfect, i love it all.¨ i love you. to any other person it could be seen as to showy or just showing off your amount of wealth, but casper knew kyran. he knew he didnt base his actions off of what the public eye would think of him. it really meant a lot to him, that he would put all of this work for something that most people would take for granted.

Theodore wasn't the best at socializing, despite being a teacher and having to talk to both students and adults constantly. and with there not being a lot to talk about at the moment with Blake out of the room, the ginger went to silently fiddling with his flannel sleeve as he listened to the soft excited noises coming from the hallway. but ever since blake had become one of his students her last name had always stuck out to him. Tucking a stray curl behind his ear he flashed a shy smile,¨Do you,uh,work here by any chance? blakes last name seemed familiar to me.¨ it was a weird question to ask out of the blue, and a poor attempt at conversation, but he was never good with parent teacher conferences anyway--its why he was one of the few teachers that didnt do them entirely unless for good reason.

wow.
casper wasn't expecting this if all things. a rented out restaurant, the soft music, just.everything. he couldn't help but gaze around the place for a moment, olive green eyes looking around in wonder.soon his eyes fell to the man next to him(as gorgeous as everything looked, nothing could really top kyran). after dealing with so many patients it was easy for him to see distress, whether it was emotional or physical. he returned the squeeze to his hand by tracing his thumb over the soft skin before bringing it up to his lips, pressing a soft kiss to his knuckles in gentle reassurance.

A small, almost shy laugh came from Kyran, sounding foreign from his usually boisterous persona. He ran a hand over his neck, a sheepish looking smile gracing his features as he looked away. Perfect? Really? It had taken Kyran more than a week to be at least satisfied with the result, and Casper thought it was perfect? The thought of a compliment from Casper made his cheeks flush. He'd no idea why, but he liked it. It was strange. Kyran wasn't one to be easily impressed, let alone easily flustered or embarrassed, but it felt so familiar with Casper. Just so right. Everything with Casper did. He was sure he knew why, but he was still sceptical. If he was right, it would be something right out of a fairytale.

Clearing his throat, he let go of Casper's hand for a moment, only to pull out his chair for him and flash him his award-winning, albeit nervous, smile. This was going good so far. Everything was going to be okay. Never in his life had Kyran ever felt so anxious about something before, it was truly amazing how one person could do something like that.

The question had initially caught Harper by surprise, it was a bit odd, but he shrugged it off and kept his polite smile on, no longer forced, "Only a handful of times, actually! I'm just a substitute, for the algebra and geometry teachers," He explained, rubbing the back of his neck and pulling a few long strands of dark hair from his face with a small smile on his face. He didn't know why he felt sheepish at the moment, perhaps from being recognised, but he shrugged it off as nerves. He always felt wary when meeting with teachers, as a few had heard rumours and were wary of him. He didn't blame them, just shrugged it off and put on his best smile.

Blake was calming down now, the echoing of her shoes becoming louder as she approached the room at a much more normal pace, the giggling having been stifled. It was obvious she was still ecstatic about her new upgrade as she slowly entered the room with a cheesy, mile-wide grin on her face, hands clasped together at her chest as if they were the only things hold her excitement.

sitting down he scooted his chair a few paces closer to the table, letting his eyes gaze along the fancy lining of it. he knew nothing about restaurant etiquette regarding the silverware and the special arrangement of plates and their uses, but he didnt really care at the moment.for now hed focus on the man infront of him, the same cheeky and almost theatrical smile that had only caught his heart a few weeks ago. it was..eerie,how fast they had fallen for eachother considering how distant casper was with relationships. didnt let anyone in, didnt have to face heart break like in highschool. but with him it had felt so easy to open up,so easy to let go. so easy to fall in love again. the small weight in his pocket--of the picture of him in a blue haired boy with the same theatrical smile still lingered on his mind. he ignored it for now.

//

Resting his chin on his hand he listened, raising an eyebrow to find out he was a teacher here. the math classes were only right down the hall, but he had only moved into this room recently, so he wasn't surprised to not have seen him around. he would've thought he would recognize a living male version of Rapunzel if he saw one. ¨im guessing you'll be my neighbor then, seeing as im right down the hall,¨ normally he wasnt good at talking, much less with parents, but he could feel himself feeling more at ease. blue eyes scanned the doorway as blake walked back in,excited look still on her face(he wasnt surprised), and could only give a small humble smile back. ¨again, sorry if my email scared you, not the best at writing those,¨ blue eyes looked across the table, giving a content sigh seeing as this was rather quick, and there wasnt really anything else that needed to be discussed,¨thats all i wanted to discuss, i know my email seemed out of the blue.¨

Kyran sat in his own chair across from the younger man, nervously straightening his tie and jacket, his bright smile never leaving his face. To be honest it had been... strange, falling in love so easily. When he said he'd never even been on a date, that was merely him pushing away the past. He had only had one relationship, back in high school, and it didn't end well. Of course, it didn't necessarily end badly, but it wasn't really an ideal break-up. There weren't even words, the person just disappeared without another word and it had ripped Kyran's heart in two. He shook the memory away, focusing on the now. He'd been a bit wary to simply let Casper in so easily, even after one heartbreak, it was hard for him to let anyone get close, let alone go on a date. The weight of the picture in his pocket began to feel like it was made of lead, but he ignored it.

It was a few moments, a tall, lanky waiter coming by a few times to speak softly to Kyran, unintelligible to anyone who wasn't two centimetres away from them. Finally left alone, he cleared his throat and spoke, hands twiddling in his lap, looking like a nervous middle schooler at his first school dance.

"So, is everything okay?" He asked, more words spewing out before he could stop them, "I-I mean I hope it is not too much? I wanted to do something nice, you know. I'm not trying to show off, I just wanted to make this... first date a good one, you know?" He stammered over his words a few times and even struggled to speak correctly, his mental translator starting to falter as anxiety overcame him.

Harper smiled and nodded, but the moment he tried to speak, Blake was already opening her mouth, "Oh, it's not a problem, Mr. M! I completely understand, thank you so much! Like, it means a lot. I can't wait to start your advanced class!" The whole time, it seemed like Blake didn't have control of what she was saying, and she had been slowly backing away while tugging on her father's arm.

Standing up, Harper flashed an apologetic and sheepish smile, hastily following his daughter and glancing at the time. He managed a few words before he was forcefully yanked out the door, "Uh, it-it was nice to meet you, Mr. McCormick! Perhaps we can work together sometime?"

And Blake shut the door, obviously giddy to get home. But seeing the look on her father's face, she groaned. Right now, Frankie was doing some yearbook project that she'd get a ride home from, and they didn't have any time for Harper to drop her off at home. She'd have to help out at the diner until Harper got off.

hearing kyran ramble was honestly the cutest thing. he could tell he cared and was over thinking at the moment. bringing his hand to his mouth he let out a girlish giggle,¨oh my god, youre so cute when youre nervous.¨ he gave a small reassuring smile, resting his hands against the table. he could feel waves of nervousness radiating off of him, anyone one could, but it was endearing. he didnt know where he got the sudden burst of confidence from himself. normally when it came to dates hed be a nervous wreck. but this was kyran, a sweet a gentle soul who seemed to be a nervous mess infront of him. he loved it. ¨its perfect, kyran, honestly. no ones treated me to something like this before--it means a lot to me,¨ he could feel a rush of heat run to his face, olive eyes against copper as he spoke. he meant every word, though. even if hes never been on a date before, this is something youd see in movies or tv shows, something that was fantasy like that was too perfect to be true. but here he was, experiencing with kyran,¨im glad i get to be here with you.¨

//

theo chuckled watching her excitement. he made a mental note to have her schedule changed by monday. he gave a small wave to harper, flashing a polite smile,¨bye blake, see you--¨ hearing the door shut he raised an eyebrow,¨monday.¨ hearing them slowly walk away he sighed contently, leaning back in his chair and looking at the place where harper had just been. he seemed nice, and theo had certainly not seen him around before which is shocking. maybe it was just a big school, he was always bad at remembering things. he seemed kind, he wouldnt mind working across the hall from him either.

The comment had taken Kyran by surprise, making him stop a minute and stared as if processing what Casper had really said. Once realising Casper had actually 100% said that heat filled his face, stretching down his neck. He pulled at his shirt collar, smile faltering a bit. Really? Kyran felt and looked like a mess yet Casper, with this sudden period of confidence, finds it appealing? Maybe Kyran would show his nervousness more often. He avoided eye contact and let a nervous laugh fall from his mouth, staring at the very interesting designs in the tablecloth as he mumbled something that sounded like 'thank you' with a question mark behind it.

It was truly strange how Casper was doing this, at least in Kyran's eyes. Kyran was a boisterous, loud, eccentric guy, never afraid to wear his heart on his sleeve and do something extravagant and flashy, or even have all eyes on him. Really, he hadn't felt anxious since his last years of junior high, having it creep up on him so abruptly now was foreign to him.

As they exited the school, Blake inspected her father closely with narrowed eyes and a scrunched up face with her hands on her hips. Harper wasn't paying much mind to her, for it wasn't uncommon. She bounded down the steps and blocked his path while standing tall with accusing eyes.

"Do you have the hots for my English teacher?" She blurted out, loud enough for it to echo a bit around the empty front yard of the large school.

"What?" Harper was so shocked by the question his voice cracked.

"You heard me, old man."

Clearing his throat, he crossed his arms and walked past his daughter, "No, I do not have feelings for your teacher. I quite literally just met him, Blake."

Short, quick footsteps followed him. Blake feel silent, but it was obvious she was doubting his word. The car chirped as Harper unlocked it and rounded the side to the driver's seat as Blake took shotgun. It wasn't an angry tension, but more like a suspicious tension as they pulled away from the school and started toward the diner.

his face is so red, oh my god. honestly casper could gush about his boyfriend all day. boyfriend. boyfriend? they were boyfriends--right? casper figured. it was a weird title to give someone after it being so long. to belong to someone, committed, was a scary concept in itself. but there was no diagnoses casper could give to describe how he felt, there was no medication he could take to stop his love struck, giddy high school type, love for this man. he couldnt even tell that they only met a few weeks ago, casper being a stuttering mess under the Hispanics gaze. he didnt think hed be here infront of them, the tables turned, and having feelings gushing off of both of them in waves. it was odd, for it to happen so fast, and the photo in his pocket had the weight of a thousand pounds it felt like. but he ignored it. they were in private, no cameras and people eager for kyrans attention like he complained about. it was just them--a shared moment. here, casper didnt have people to worry about. not anxiety ran through him, the safe cheeky smile kyran gave him made him have butterflies. with him, he didnt have to filter his emotions, so he wouldnt. he rested his chin on his hand, tilting his head with a small smile,¨and your cheeks, theyre the prettiest shade of red. youre adorable when your flustered, you know that?¨ accent thick, to focused on the man infront of him of hide it.

pulling up to the diner, theo parked the car. turning to Finn in the backseat he raised an eyebrow,¨are you sure about this kiddo? i didnt think you like a kids diner.¨ finn merrly scoffed, pouting,¨i know i may not act like it,father, but i am still six years old.¨ theo shrugged, opening both of their doors. and walking inside, his smaller hand wrapped around one of his fathers fingers.

he had only been to this diner a few times, most were for finns birthday. he loved the place for some reason(despite the level of his maturity). it was easy to be seated at a table. since he was working longer hours he thought itd be best to treat his son to something--which happens to be this very place, sitting down, finn let the hostess place the kids menu down, mumbling something along the lines of ¨your waiter will be right with you. he raised an eyebrow, seeing him pull out a large container of crayons. ¨did you have to bring your 64 pack of crayons here?¨ ¨they simply do not provide enough shades of colors, what if i wanted to draw a sunset? how am i going to do that with only primary colors?¨ theo chuckled.

Kyran couldn't help it, he ducked his hand and hid his face with one hand as he looked away, almost searching for some kind of escape. Being in the spotlight constantly, plastered over billboards and magazines, exaggerated yellow journalism articles everywhere, Kyran wasn't new to attention. Compliments, flirtatious remarks, inappropriate invitations, there wasn't one he hadn't heard, being honest. What he wasn't used to was the genuineness of it all. How Casper really meant the words he said, not just trying to get a shoutout or some kind of favour or bragging rights. Casper just wanted to make him feel special, it was spilt out across the board now, in every syllable the man spoke. The accent made Kyran chew on the inside of his lip and his heart skip a beat. Every passing second made him more nervous, but also more sure of himself at the same time. It was confusing and made his head spin and he had to loosen his tie a bit to avoid feeling closed up. He tried not to make eye contact, afraid to at this point as he mumbled unintelligible words, so mixed up and made of gibberish, Kyran would admit he hadn't the faintest idea he was saying himself.

Fiddling with his tie, he gave a nervous laugh, fighting his embarrassment to say something, but all that came out were jumbled fractions of sentences, not even in English mind you, just unclear words and phrases in Spanish. Not soon enough, the waiter came back, a large platter in hand, carrying two steaming plates.

He stopped by the table, standing in a noble pose as he bent down and slid both plates off to the corresponding recipients before standing up again, giving a curt and respectful nod before stepping quietly away, the soft click of his dress shoes seeming loud in the gentle atmosphere. For Kyran, it was a fairly plain dish, actually. It was broiled salmon, a few seasonings sprinkled generously on top, accompanied by some lemons and asparagus. The plate for Casper was just as simple. Grilled and sauteed, spices and herbs also generous. They were cleaned well and deshelled with a sort of olive oil and basil drizzle. Kyran definitely took a wild guess on this one.

[narrator;; but he did not, in fact, take a wild guess. he knew all along.]

"Layla Blake, I am not doing your homework for you. I'm on duty."

"Okay but you're not working right now." Blake had been practically begging her father to do her work for her since they'd gotten to the diner.

"Yes, I am." Harper sat at the furthest booth with his daughter, only assisting her here and there with her algebra homework, no matter how much she whined and threatened to cause a scene.

Blake opened her mouth to shoot back her fiery retort when one of the waitresses, Kendall --a teenager with an attitude that bites, but she's nice to Blake-- came over and placed her hand on the table with one on her hip.

"Hey old man, table 3 needs serving and I'm on break," She stated curtly before turning and disappearing into the kitchen.

Sighing, Harper rolled his eyes and stood up, mumbling under his breath, "You're always on break." Before turning on his heel and grabbing an order pad from the register, making a bee-line for table 3. He took a deep breath and plastered his customer smile on his face and braced himself to use his most polite, excited voice as he adjusted the brightly coloured suspenders he was forced to wear. He didn't even really look at the customers, just spoke in his ridiculously happy and obviously false tone.

"Hello! Welcome to Ellie's Grotto, what can I get you to drink?" He chirped, almost cringing at how fake he sounded, pulling a rolled colouring dinner mat out and placing it in front of the smaller figure at the table with the standard four colour crayon pack before readying his pen and pad.

"Hello! Welcome to Ellie's Grotto, what can I get you to drink?" He chirped, almost cringing at how fake he sounded, pulling a rolled colouring dinner mat out and placing it in front of the smaller figure at the table with the standard four colour crayon pack before readying his pen and pad.
watching the sight infront of him he couldnt help but melt. from the little sputtered phrases of spanish. he didnt bother to translate them, the mere sight of him trying to form sentences was pleasing enough. if they werent sitting at a table it would be much worse, casper would most likely be pressing kisses with compliments in between, ones that made kyran giggle and his dimples show. it was cheesy, having his head tilted and basically starring with hearts in his eyes. it was nice to see him so flustered, it was reassuring. that he was doing something right. most of the time he was tripping over himself, barely able to get a sentence out without stuttering. but for right now he wasnt focusing on that, instead focusing how kyran would attempt to hide his face despite casper obviously being able to see it, or how giddy he seemed whenever he paid kyran a compliment.

watching the food be sat infront of him he mumbled a quiet thank you before the waiter left. the smell made his mouth water and seemed familiar. looking down, there was basically stars in his eyes. if he wasnt in a fancy restaurant and a 26 year old man infront of his lover he would probably squeal. ¨it looks really good,¨ he said sheepishly. he hadnt had shrimp in so long--probably since he left Australia. it reminded him of home.

Theo was currently in a in depth conversation trying to explain Shakespeare works to his son. while he was only six years old, he was a pretty smart kid. he read chapter books instead of kids book to bed, preferred documentaries to cartoons. it was surprising he liked a place like this, considering it was a restaurant for kids after all. once the kids place mat was put infront of Finn he didnt hesitate to start coloring immediately, tuning out whatever their waiter was asking.

theo was scanning the menu, the waiters voice so artificial that he didnt recognize it at first. the man hed met before had a softer voice, a calming one, so to hear it so cheery and fake it didnt click in his head who it was. ¨hell have an apple juice,¨ he said slowly, eyes still scanning over then small font of the menu. looking up he choked on words for a moment, seeing who the waiter was. though instead of the casual clothes dressed up in a colorful uniform that honestly made it hard for theo to not burst out laughing. ¨ill have a..,¨ a nervous pause, still trying to process this whole awkward situation,¨a water, please.¨

One of many soft, nervous laughs left Kyran, training his eyes to the intricate patterns printed on the tablecloth as his face continued to burn with relentless abandon, though he wasn't exactly embarrassed. More, he was getting giddy and warm that he was doing everything right tonight. If this really was the boy he'd loved for so long, perhaps they could have a do-over. Kyran knew he needed one. He hadn't been the kindest or most nurturing soul in his younger days, some of the local police officers still laughing at hearing his name. He had done better to redeem himself, but knew some things could never be forgotten, if ever forgiven. Hope fluttered in his chest, brewing and growing, bubbling up until his heart filled his ears. The photograph still weighed heavy in his pocket, so tempted to jump out into his hands and see the comparison, but Kyran could see it now. The freckles, the hair, the smile. The eyes. Everything. He'd looked at that picture for years, hiding it away until he finally had the courage to put it on his wall without flinching at it.

"I, ahem, tried to keep it simple. Caviar and fancy chips aren't really my style anyway," He said, a cheerful note to his voice, "I think this is the first time I've been out to eat in a fancy restaurant in years," He added, somewhat sheepish. He knew it was a bit strange, the money he had, and he still preferred to live in a cheaper apartment and cook his own meals from whatever he could find in the nearest grocery store. At least, it was strange to the public.

Being so inside of his head, thinking of not very nice things to say to Kendall, Harper hardly noticed the familiar voice. It sort of echoed around his head for a minute before he shook it off and wrote down their drinks. He turned and grabbed two menus, an adult's menu and a child's menu, and placed them on the table.

"I'll get that right out for you--" Finally, Harper looked at the customer and his heart stopped, "--sir." There was only half a minute of Harper registering that this man was indeed Blake's English teacher. His stomach dropped and he almost forgot to let go of the menus, just sort of shocked by the awkward situation. And the fact that this man was seeing him in bright-coloured rainbow suspenders and a paper hat with a big pink heart on it.

"Harper! Pick up!" A cook shouted from the back, hitting the also brightly coloured bell before disappearing into the cloud of steam that always seemed to inhabit the kitchen.

Being snapped out of his thoughts, Harper gave a half-hearted nod at Mr. McCormick and what seemed to be his son, possibly his nephew, before spinning on his heel to pick up the order before the awkward situation could get worse. Blake was happily forcing back her giggles as she watched her father struggle with social interaction.

he couldve guessed by the frozen dinners he saw in kyrans fridge, that fancy things werent his forte. he liked that. humble. he raised a brow, eyes lidded with a small smile,¨are Australians your style, then?¨ he basically purred, much like the tone kyran had used when they first met,but this was intentionally flirtatious. it was a complete switch from how he was before, just a few simple weeks ago. but things just seemed so easy with him, as if he knew exactly how kyran was like, what would get him to laugh and smile, what would make him blush. familiarity. history. he took a bite of his food, an innocent smile on his face as if he werent the one making kyran a flustered mess at the moment. swallowing, he spoke again,¨its my first time in a fancy restaurant in general. i feel spoiled,¨ he replied sheepishly, his words more sweet and sincere then the flirtatious ones before. if he were to look down into his pocket towards the polaroid in it, youd think these were two different people. he had grown, harshly, be he had grown. but somethings you just never grow out of, for instance, relationships.

ah, there it was. the realization theo had endured a few minutes ago. he was planning to keep it subtle and professional, but the look on harpers face simply made him avoid his gaze, and Finn snicker.

¨dad, do you know him?¨ he asked innocently, taking the kids menu harper had dropped off and started to color inbetween the lines effortlessly.

what was he suppose to say? ¨yes, i do, and i want to hide form this situation, despite being a grown man.¨ as much as Finn would understand, he wouldnt say that. he only gave a nervous chuckle,¨yeah i do. i saw him early today for-¨ ¨one of your meetings?¨ he interupted. theo could only give a confused nod.

¨is that why you guys are acting so weird? is it awkward?¨

¨Finn! hush, please. its not awkward, i am a grown man and can handle these things.¨ he replied in a whisper shout. the boy simply shrugged, not looking too convinced but kept coloring anyways.

His words made Kyran choke on the bite of food in his mouth, forcing it down the wrong pipe and throwing him into a small coughing fit that he had to cover his mouth for. His face began to burn hotly for a minute, not just from the suggestion, but the embarrassment of choking on his own food. The way Casper spoke to him was wildly different than when they'd initially started speaking, catching Kyran off guard. It was strange how close they'd grown in the past few days, but he prayed he already had the explanation for that.

As the coughing fit past, he tried to play it off easy, "Well, I've only met one other Australian," He said, struggling to speak as he laughed between short bursts of nearly violent coughs, "And he was a model." He took a sip of his water, the coughs beginning to subside as he cleared his throat.

"So, I wouldn't know. But who's to say they're not?" He chuckled, attempting to be just as flirtatious, adding a sultry purr to the way the English rolled off his tongue. Purposeful, but as smooth as black coffee.

Despite her enjoyment in seeing her usually so well-put-together father struggle, Blake did not enjoy seeing teachers outside of school. It made her uncomfortable like it was something she wasn't supposed to see. Like a lime without a peel, it was uncomfortable and weird, so she picked up her things and cleared out some space in the kitchen to work, which wasn't unusual for her. Since her father worked most of the time, she and Frankie frequently ended up walking to the restaurant after school.

Harper picked up the orders for the other tables, plates piled on either arm, steaming and hot, though he was unphased as he weaved through the tables easily, saying a few quick words to each of the young guests as he set their orders down. For some reason, he couldn't get Mr McCormick out of his head. Why? He'd never admit that he knew. (He definitely knew.) He just tried his best to make the situation less awkward, but then again, how could it be less awkward? He wouldn't make it more awkward, but the level of awkwardness was probably as high as it could go, which was... too awkward.

Trying to distract himself so hard, Harper nearly ran into one of the kitchen aids when he lost sight of Blake in the restaurant, happy to see she was in the kitchen. For now, he could have a small break before tending to more tables. Why did it seem to be he was the only waiter working? They had at least 3 other waitresses and some waiters to go around, but he basically walked the whole floor tending to every table. Right. That was a bad habit of his when he needed a distraction during work, doing everyone else's job instead of just his own. What an overachiever.

casper had to cover his mouth for a moment to not giggle at the reaction he had gotten-- he was more then satisfied. so far it seemed the tables have turned, not once had casper stuttered over his words in a flustered mess since they entered the building, he felt proud of himself. it seemed when he didnt manage to compose himself, even if it was just for a night, it got good results. he tucked a curl behind his ear, gaze focused on his lap before looking to the man infront of him, face looking like it was in thought for a moment,¨i think you have nice taste, then.¨ he replied, not bothering to hide the chuckle that followed. ¨id have to say my style is..¨ a pause,¨guys who have fluffy dogs and pretty eyes. too good to sound true, i know.¨ he could go on and on, but he didnt want to it to be overkill, short and sweet. it felt nice to see him smiling;happy. even if he was choking seconds ago, it was nice.

Again, the comment made Kyran laugh, a small and sweet giggle that sounded like it'd come out of his mouth helplessly. He balanced the tip of his fork on the plate, the traces of his uncontrollable smile still apparent on his lips, his eyes trained on the partially eaten contents of his plate. He liked this, he'd admit it. It was ever-so rare to make Kyran smile genuinely, let alone laugh, but Casper seemed to do it so easily. As if he were reading his mind, or his body language. There was a connection, one long overdue, and Kyran knew it. Just the way Casper spoke to him, how close they'd gotten and how quickly they'd fallen for one another, he knew. The only thing about it was that it terrified the living daylights out of Kyran, one way or another.

He pulled his bottom lip between his teeth, one of his few nervous habits, another small chuckle worming its way out of his chest. He just found it funny for some reason. Unreasonably hilarious, though he kept his small giggles to a minimum. It was funny because of how strange the entire situation was to him. He stuck another forkful of food into his mouth.

"Lucky me, then," He said, voice dreamy and not without its ever-present tone that seemed to make every word giggle itself, "I actually think my type is..." He paused, thinking of the least cheesy way to respond to Casper's advances, and keep himself under the radar, "Boys with freckles and green eyes." Nailed it.

¨theres so many of those,¨ he chuckled, swallowing another bit of food down,¨care to be specific?¨ he asked, playing dumb for a moment, tilting his head. the moment was perfect-almost too perfect, but every moment he was with him felt that way, he might aswel get used to it. the soft music in the air, and probably one of the best dish made on this planet in front of him? he didnt know what could be better. despite them being in a fancy restaurant; they were still being just as dorky as they would've been behind closed doors. he felt a familiar bubble in his stomach, the same kind of giddy youd get when talking to your crush in school, but, well, this was not school, and this was not his crush, but his actual lover. he felt at ease, relaxed, talking so smoothly as if he could do this all day; yet at the same time his heart was beating fast out of excitement, with the never ending smile on his face.

to him, it was almost to good to be true. there had to be a cache of some sort to have this nice of a guy be into him. it felt surreal; but he didnt know that thats how it was suppose to be, relationships and all that. most moments were suppose to feel this good, to feel this happy. and honestly? casper couldn't remember the last time he had felt this way.

There it was again, the confident, nonchalant flirting that Kyran otherwise would have never expected from Casper, who, when they first met with Chi and CJ at Hana's shop, was a nervous mess, up until Kyran offered to take him to the cliff for photography. Then, he relaxed a bit. Over the past few weeks, the idle texting and giddy feeling of seeing each other sometime soon, it had brought them closer together, if they weren't already extremely close from day one. But was it really day one?

Kyran rose a brow at the brunette across from him, carefully pressing another bite of his dish to his tongue and chewing thoughtfully, narrowing his eyes at Casper. What was he getting at? What was he trying to get at, at the very least? Suspicious, but in a light-hearted manner, Kyran pursed his lips and shrugged, he had been a bit obvious about his joking comment, but now he began to really think about what his "type" was. He'd never thought about it much, never really focusing on relationships as he never really had a history with them, and for those he did, they didn't end well. It didn't end well. Still, he shrugged that thought away and remembered the promise he'd made many years ago.

"I don't know," He said, voice hardly above a mumble, "I suppose it really depends on the person," He rested his elbow on the table, placing his chin in his hand as he paused to think, feeling a bit anxious to answer as if taking too long would be game over.

"I... like shorter guys, I guess," He admitted, suddenly acutely aware of how embarrassing some of the stuff he could say would be, "They're small and huggable."

¨im three for three, this worked out perfectly.¨ he replied.short and small? yes, he was very short compared to his family--infact, the only short one, standing a good half foot under kyran as it is. he envied his cousins who got the better sides of genetics. huggable? well, they had shared a bed before, that counted right? casper himself wouldn't like to say he had a type, but kyran was certainly exceeding his expectations. if kyran were to ask what his type was, hed tell him pretty copper eyes and attractive Hispanic accents. hed tell him gorgeous smiles with dimples on the cheeks, and soft playful humor. hed tel him cliff side dates and fluffy dogs, and comforting cuddling in the night. not loads of money and covers of magazines, but this, this right here was his style, giggly conversations and probably the most sincere reactions he had ever scene. kyran, was his type.

Oh, you are so much more than three for three, Casper. Kyran had wanted to say, but it had caught in his throat and he couldn't find it in him to retrieve them and spit them out for some reason. Perhaps Casper knew, too. It seemed Casper already knew everything about him, as Kyran knew about him if he'd admit it, but he wouldn't. He finished his food but didn't notice until his fork hit the plate a bit too forcefully in a way that made him flinch. He put his fork down and crossed his arms, leaning back in his chair with the light smile on his face. It never seemed to leave when Casper was around.

The waiter came back, murmuring some words to Kyran, to which Kyran half-heartedly responded, obviously distracted as he chewed on the edge of his thumbnail and let his gaze fall on the man opposite to him. The waiter left, but then returned soon with a small black book, opening and holding it out for Kyran. Despite everything being paid for, he still had a few things to pay for in person. He signed everything quickly, sharing one more word with the waiter before he disappeared again.

It never seemed to leave when Casper was around.

swallowing the last bit of food down, furrowing his brows as kyran signed things so easily. ¨i couldve helped paid for something,¨ he prompted, placing his fork down gently. he couldnt imagine how much all of this costed-the rented out restaurant, the perfect dinner table, the soft music, the food. it was..a lot. and casper couldnt help but feel slightly bad by not paying for atleast something. if not, hed feel truly spoiled. he knew kyran could pay for it all easily, but still, it was the least casper could do after getting treated to a night out like this.

it only feel the need to give something back; after all kyran had done a lot, even since the beginning. he had given him a place to sleep instead of a hotel room and dealt with his awkward bed sharing, he had cooked for him, let him borrow clothes and offered up his home to him, and then treat him to w wildly perfect date and paid for all of it? it was too good to be true, but he knew this was very true, and very real. but he could confidently say now that the moment they had met at Hanas cafe had not been the true beginning, shifting around and feeling the picture still in his pocket. while he looked drastically different, no blue hair or piercings, he still had the good nature that casper couldnt help but adore.

"Oh, it's all right," Kyran reassured him, running a hand over the back of his head, "I wanted to take this night to treat you, you know? You shouldn't pay for anything," He insisted. What he said was true, he'd wanted this night to be about Casper. He wanted him to be treated right, to enjoy the night without having to worry about anything. That's what Kyran knew he deserved. Normally, he would have never done anything remotely like this, afraid to act like a show-off rather than be sincere, but something deep down had pulled him in the expensive direction. He probably would have put on a movie, cooked something himself, even bought the very wine they'd drank just to make the night that much sweeter. But to Kyran, Casper deserved to be spoiled, and he didn't care if he tossed every penny down the drain trying to pamper him, he needed to.

Casper himself hadn't changed much, the more Kyran looked at him. Still short and covered in freckles, though his hair seemed better kept than it had once been. He sort of missed that. He still had his nervous charm and ambience, but Kyran was silently glad he'd gotten rid of those god-awful red glasses that could be spotted a mile away. Still, he sort of missed those, too. Casper had changed a lot, persona-wise, and it really put Kyran into perspective at how much time had passed between them, despite returning to what could be perceived as normal. How much he'd actually aged. How much he'd missed his pretty freckled boy. How the void that had grown in his stomach had been filled the moment he'd set eyes on him. He'd never quite noticed it before.
