Here we function as a normal everyday highschool , but we cater to hybrids , rather than humans . things such as drama, bullying, romance , and the pain of life are normal to the hybrids attending. Aster was walking down the halls, his hands in his pockets, ears pricked for any sound. He stopped at his locker and dug around.

Serenity walked through the jumbled mess of students, keeping to herself and avoiding all eye contact. She grabbed her things quickly from her locker and began rushing to class (brb)

A wolf boy stopped her, holding onto her ears. "Where're you going Prey?"

(Last post and then in five minutes I'll be back )

Serenity looked up slowly, fear swirling in her orbs . " t-to class " she murmured , stumbling over her words

"W-well i-it looks like you're going to be late!" The boy growled, mimicking her at first.

Aster froze and started running down the halls, his ears flat. His pupils turned to slits when he saw the boy and bunny girl and he growled, grabbing the booy by the tail and tearing him off of Serenity. The boy's grip slipped off of her easily. "Go." Aster said, still holding the boy by the tail.

[Frosty]

Serenity nodded and took off, sending a grateful look towards her savior. Eventually after running for a few halls she ducked into a supply closet to avoid any other encounters and to catch her breath

Aster spotted her and walked to her. "You okay?"

Serenity nodded , "thank you so much " she said, voice almost at a whispered.

Aster smiled. "No problem. I'm Aster."

"I'm serenity " she replied , a small smile breaking out on her face , but almost unseen as both ears his most of Her face

Aster crouched a bit and lifted her ears. He smiled at her. "I love your eyes." He said, smiling.

Serenity's orbs widened and she stepped back, shocked a little. No one even bothered to notice her unless to make fun of her . talking to someone was surprising, but she was completely flabbergasted with what he said

Aster smiled. "Sorry."

Serenity covered her face again to hide her blush. "I-its fine " .

Aster smiled and walked away. He walked into class and sat down, writing stuff down.

Serenity looked around before darting away to her own class, no one even looking when she walked in .

Aster was walking to the cafeteria, searching for Serenity slightly.

Serenity sat at a table at the far edge of the cafeteria as usual, beside her sitting the wolf hybrid from earlier , playing with her hair and teasing her . " come on, if you hate it so much, tell me to stop " the hybrid laughed in her ear , but serenity stayed silent out of fear

Aster was sitting with his friends. He looked up and spotted Serenity. And the boy. He flung a spoonful of mash potatoes at him and watched as it hit him square in the face. His friends burst into laughter.

[Frosty]

The wolf boy growled and wiped the slop off his face , standing up , grabbing the girl by the wrist and walking of the Aster . " think its funny ? How about this ?" He said. Placing his hand on the back of Asters head and getting ready to slam it into his food

Aster reached back and grabbed the boys wrist and twisted as hard as he could.

[Frosty]

The wolf let out a scream , throwing Serenity away from him and grabbing his own wrist away from Aster. "You're insane !" He yelled

"I've known that for a while." Aster joked, spinning around in his seat to glare at the boy.

[Frosty]

Serenity almost screamed when the wolf boy raised his other arm to punch him in the face . " Stop!" She tried saying, but instead it came out as a squeak

Aster put up his arms to protect his face. One of his friends jumped up and grabbed the boy by the twisted wrist and gripped it as hard as he possibly could.

[Frosty]

The boy then punched him with his other hand. By then the principal had arrived and teachers were trying to pull away the wolf hybrid

Aster was holding his bloody nose and a teacher had Serenity escort him to the nurses office.

[Frosty]

As they walked serenity didn't dare look at him , but had to ask something, and had a few things to say . " Aster , why don't you just let him do what he wants? H-hes dangerous , and can hurt you more if you're off guard. I'm greatful, but what you did this morning was enough " she whispered

"He shouldn't be able to do what he wants, and I'm trying to make sure of that." Aster said. "When you said he's dangerous, that's exactly why I do this. Because he's dangerous."

[Frosty]

" well he's even worse when pissed off. " she muttered . " besides , he doesn't mess with many people , just a few that get on his nerves . and me of course. Which isn't terrible I guess. " serenity sighed , daring a peek as they came closer. " but please, just stay out of his way. Id hate for him to hurt you again " . Suddenly she realized what she said and rushed to cover it up . " or , u-uh anyone for that matter "

Aster smiled a bit. "Serenity, if I let him do what he wants he's going to annoy everyone more."

[Frosty]

" But then you'll end up getting hurt again! " She shouted , sounding like any other person talking normally. She quickly covered her mouth and stopped at the nurses office door . " I'll stay out here until the next bell . go in " she said, back to her whisper

Serenity hated seeing anyone get hurt , it always reminding her of her older brother. When he was in highschool, she just in middle school, he was bullied a lot . He ended up getting into a lot of fights , which made their parents angry . they shouted and hit both of them all the time, but became worse on him. Eventually all the pain got the best of him and on December 3 , he cut his wrists and hung himself .

Aster sat there as his nose was inspected. He was given an ice pack and was sent home. He walked out of the door and smiled at Serenity. "Bye."

[Frosty]

"See ya " she said before walking back to class

Aster walked home, holding the ice pack to his nose. When he got home, his little sister Marinette ran up to him and hugged his legs. "Hi Aster!" She purred. He smiled and kissed his head. "Hi Mari-kit." One of his parents were a cat (his father) and the other was a fox (his mother). Marinette got the cat genes and he obviously got the fox genes.

Serenity was about to walk in but was surprised when the bell rang again. She had lost track of time and it was now the end of school. She sighed and quickly got out of the school before anyone was able too run her over trying to rush out.

After school she decided to go get changed at home unto something comfy and go for a walk in the park. She snuck in her house without waking her drunk of a father and before her mother got home from work. She chose a light blue sweater and black leggings and tip toed back outside , arriving only a short time later

Aster was walking through the park, Marinette balanced on his shoulders and the ice bag taped on his face so he could hold onto his little sister.

[Frosty]

Serenity sat in her favorite tree in the center of the park , drawing and doodling in a notebook while humming . this was the only place she felt safe at , and it was great to see all the happy kids run and play

Aster was swinging beside Marinette, smiling. The pain was disappearing in his nose so he took off the ice bag.

[Frosty]

Serenity looked up from her book and a few yards away was the swings. She gasped and dropped her book , cursing silently and hoping she wasn't spotted

Marinette twitched her nose and stopped swinging and looked right back at Serenity. She shrugged and started swinging again. Aster came to a stop, his hair in a tangled mess.

[Frosty]

Serenity held her breath and glanced at the girl every few seconds as she got down the tree, picked up her things and scurried back up. Who knew rabbits were so good at climbing?

"Aster, i just saw a girl with rabbit ears." Mari said, pointing. Aster eyes widened. "Where?" "That way." Aster walked off, turning into a fox. He bounded up to Serenity and pretended to be a natural random fox.

[Frosty]

Serenity heard something and looked away from her drawing , looking down the tree and widening her eyes. Considering the girl was prey in the eyes of others , "real " predators scared her even more . she attempted hiding in the branches, climbing higher and higher

Aster tilted his head at her and yipped.

Serenity squeaked and shook , hiding behind her ears

Aster climbed up and turned back next to her. He smiled and lifted her ears, repeating what he had said earlier, "I love your eyes."

[Frosty]

A small gasp came from the rabbit girl. "A-Aster! You scared me! " she squealed , a small s!smiling pulling its way through

Aster grinned. "Sorry."

[Frosty]

Serenity giggled for the first time in a long time. " its fine "

"I also like your ears, they're so floppy." He said, moving them to the side of her face.

[Frosty]

She looked at Aster with big blue eyes . " thanks " . She she blushed slightly. " I like your smile . its kind"

Aster smiled more and pink rose to his cheeks. "Thanks."

[Frosty]

Serenity giggled again and looked down , realizing her book was wide open, drawings being shown clearly . she snapped the book shut and glanced up

He had been looking down curiously. "What was that?" He asked curiosity taking over him. He reached for the book then drew his hand back. "S-sorry.."

[Frosty]

" its okay " she murmured. " its just a few doodles anyway " she sighed and closed her eyes for a second before snapping them back open . " um, Aster, I hope you don't mind me asking, but why did you come here? "

"To the park or to you?"

[Frosty]

"Hmmm, well, both "

[shark sailor]

"I came to the park because My little sister Marinette wanted to. And I came to see you just because."

[Frosty]

"Aww, you have a little sister? Where ? "

Aster glanced into the higher branches and pointed at a white and gray-blue cat. She jumped down and landed next to Aster and shifted back into her five year old self. She had midnight colored hair with white speckles and black and blue overalls over a white t-shirt. Paint usually covered her hands or face.

[Frosty]

Serenity gasped and giggled. " wow " she managed to whiper , looking at the girl. "H-hi !"

Being five the girl stared at Serenity and said plainly, "Are you Aster's girlfriend?"

"Mari!" Aster exclaimed, blushing.

[Frosty]

Serenity hid her blush and shook her head. " no , I'm not his girlfriend , but he is a really nice guy " she squeaked to Mari

Mari shrugged. "You'd be good for him." She turned into a cat and jumped away.

Aster was covering his face in embarrassment, laughing.

[Frosty]

Serenity pulled her ears down further , turning away. " well, uh , she seems very sweet " came her awkward mumble

Aster smiled. "Yeah.."

" well, I have to go now . my parents are probably wondering when I am. I'll see you at school tomorrow, right? " serenity asked , piling everything she brought neatly in her lap

" bye Aster " . After that she leapt down and began quickly walking , only turning once to wave before disappearing

When she got home she was greeted by two very angry parents in the middle of a screaming match. She sighed and went to her room, making sure to lock it just in case.

Aster walked home, holding Marinette's hand. She was teasing him the whole way. "You love her dont you?" "Are you gonna take her to prom?" "Are you gonna date her?"

[Frosty]

Serenity flopped down on her bed , staring at her paper covered walls, a soft and dreamy smile on her face. Today she had actually met people who smiled when she was around , people who were kind. She couldn't stop replaying the day in her head, smiling more at certain parts. Sure , it was nothing serious and you could hardly call them good friends , but they were something that had never been experienced before. And it was something that for once , made Serenity happy to see another hybrid. All because Aster had helped her and had said something other than an insult

Aster made Marinette some snacks and turned on cartoon network. He walked to his room and sat down against the door, smiling. Is Marinette right?.. No! Stop it, Aster. She's a friend.. I think..

Serenity slowly began drifting off as her parents began to calm down . even in her sleep all she could see was Aster and his kind smile. It was strange, but she thought nothing of it, imagining it was the happiness of having a friend , nothing more. But there was still that knot in her stomach that whispered something more

Aster looked out his window and got up. He laid down on his bed and closed his eyes. He drifted away to sleep.

Serenity woke that morning the same as usual, not having much thought as she got ready and began her walk to school . It was slightly chilly , not surprising for the time of year as the end of fall slowly approached . She walked in the doors , so far the same as every other day

Aster walked to school, smiling a bit. He walked to through the doors and walked to his locker.

Serenity put her things away before heading to the library before the bell rung

Aster climbed and in his fox form laid on top of the lockers, tired still. Marinette was home sick and she had kept on waking up with her coughing and sneezing.

Serenity sat on the floor at the end of a bookshelf , picking books up and looking through them for the one she wanted , not paying attention when the bell rang. She just kept sitting , lost in her own world of thoughts and text

Aster had fallen asleep, curled up on the lockers.

Looked around carefully , trying to see if anyone else needed as around in the halls, the sound of her high heels clicking against the hard floor.

Serenity finally stood, sighing as she realized that class was almost over and decided to hang out until next bell . She dusted herself off before sneaking past the librarian in rabbit form and out into the halls .

Aster blinked awake and slipped off of the lockers, stretching.

Alex heard a noise further down the hall and picked upon her pace, smiling slightly. Whoever or whatever is was could potentially be interesting

Aster ran his fingers through his hair and slowly walked down the hall until he heard the familiar clicking of high heels. He groaned.

[Frosty]

Alex turned the hall and gasped happily . " Aster!" She said, walking up with an over confident strut . " I was hoping to see you"

"Hi Alex." Aster said, rolling his eyes a bit.

" so tell me, how has my favorite fox been? " Alex chimed , spinning around the male , tail flicking back and forth

"Good, I guess." If anyone looked close enough you could see he was uncomfortable.

Alex stopped. "Hmph, only good? Anything I can do to change that " she asked, sticking her bottom lip out and ignoring the hints

"I don't know." Playfully Aster leaned in close to her face. "Is there?"

[Frosty]

Alex smiled seductively. " There is . just give me the word and your day will be ten times better "

He raised his eyebrow. Somehow her smile ended up melting his heart. "Try then. Let's see if you can succeed."

[Frosty]

She nodded and grabbed his hand gently. " follow me " she whispered

(And suddenly serenity comes walking over.....)

Aster followed Alex, his tail wagging slowly.

Alex lead Aster into an empty classroom . She turned around and placed a gentle kiss to his lips.

Serenity began walking the halls until she got go her locker. She decided to hang around there so if she was caught she could just say she was grabbing things. Her long ears twitched as she thought she heard voices and a soft clicking, but thought nothing of it

Aster flinched and gently pushed Alex away. "Look, Alex. I've known you since we were kids, and you know by now, don't you? I... I don't like you that way. I was just joking." He said, running his fingers through his hair. He sighed. "Maybe one day, but.. Just not today." Aster walked away from her, tail dragging on the floor, his head bowed.

[Frosty]

Alex nodded and turned away . she began walking quickly in the opposite direction . " how could he? He made me believe that ...." She wiped a few tears away before running directly into Serenity , not realizing was there until she was on the ground. " I'm so sorry ! " they both gasped .

Aster hid in the crevice of the wall and the lockers, head on his knees. He heard sneakers and then his cousin Rose (Fern) was beside him. The wolf hugged him. "Tell me everything lil' Foxy." She whispered.

[Frosty]

Serenity cocked her head slightly but didn't want to question the distress in Alex's voice . She just quickly stood, nodded one more apology, and disappeared down the hall

So that's what Aster did. He spilled out everything that had happened while Rose had been gone. "Ugh, I'm gonna kill Alex.." Rose muttered.

[Frosty]

The bell for lunch began ringing. Serenity quickly shifted forms and darted to her locker to avoid being trampled until everyone got to the cafeteria. Alex sighed and began walking with the crowd of hybrids , shuffling over to her usual table with the other 'cats'

Rose walked to lunch with Aster, her tail wagging. Aster kept his head bowed and he sat down.

[Frosty]

Once mostly everyone was gone serenity began making her way down, human form once again . On the way she ran into her only other friend in the school . Cool and calm , he typically made sure no one came close to Serenity, though he got sick often and missed a lot .

The two walked together towards everyone else , talking about what he had missed

Aster picked at his food and Rose talked to her friends. He sighed and just walked out of the cafeteria.

Jordan : Ha ha ha ha ....no )

Serenity and Jordan passed Aster as they walked inside . "H-Hi Aster! " she squeaked. Jordan raised his eyebrow slightly

Aster looked at her and smiled. "Hi Serenity." He said.

Reed watched him go, his striped tail flickering. He sat next to Rose. "Wha-" "Don't ask, I don't even know."
(Aster: I have a wolf cousin and my best friend is a tiger. Fight me.)

Jordan : DANCE FIGHT ! *salsa *)

"Care to join us? " she asked , motioning over to one of the empty tables . Jordan blinked , a little confused, and stepped slightly closer to the bunny girl

Aster glanced at Jordan. 'I don't know what you're boyfriend'll think." He teased, smiling at her.

[Frosty]

Serenity snickered, replying with, "as if " . Jordan gasped and pretended to be hurt , stalking off to the table alone and sat, waiting

Aster laughed. "Okay." He said and walked to Jordan. He sat down across from him.

(He's sitting like a frog. With his knees up and his hands resting in between his feet.

If you know who Lars from SU is, then he's sitting like dear old Lars the Frog Boy.)

Serenity let out an inaudible giggle and sat next to Jordan who had already began eating. " So Aster , how has your day been so far ? " she asked , her eyes glowing brightly as she looked at the fox hybrid

Aster tapped his spoon on the table. "Hmm.... Pretty awesome." He said, smiling. He kept glancing over his shoulder, in case for the wolf boy or Alex.

[Frosty]

Alex : oh really?! )

Serenity smiled , nodding "great to hear ! " came her squeak , leaning her head down on Jordan's shoulder and still keeping eye contact with the hybrid across the table

Aster shifted to a new position and laid his head on the table.

Alex shifted her gaze from her friends and stood suddenly and began walking over to a certain table with three hybrids . She sat down next to Aster , poking him lightly and giggling . Serenity stayed silent, confused. Jordan stared at Alex a look of annoyance in his eyes

Aster went tense and looked up quickly. "A-ah!" He jumped back and fell off the bench.

[Frosty]

Serenity yelped and Alex gasped . "Aster!" She said , standing up next to him and holding out her hand . "I'm so sorry " Alex cried

Aster rubbed his head and ignored her hand. He got up in one quick movement and grinned. "And he sticks the landing!" He stuck out his tongue and looked pretty silly.

[Frosty]

Serenity and Jordan laughed , Alex now being the one to look annoyed. She sighed quietly . "Aster , why don't you come sit by me ? " she said , ignoring the others

Aster blinked but then walked backwards to stand behind Serenity and Jordan. "Naaah... I rather be with my friends, Lex."

[Frosty]

Serenity looked up , grinning sheepishly at Aster . Her theory had just been confirmed about them being friends .

Alex glared at all three. " what do you mean ? We have known each other for years. We ARE friends . or at least I thought we were until you tricked me into kissing you and then rejected me ! "

[shark sailor]

Aster blinked. "Alex, I was joking when I said that. I thought you knew. I thought someone who'd none me for 14 years would tell I was joking." He said, flinching.

[Frosty]

" And I thought someone who'd known me for 14 years would tell that I've liked you for so long and to not let it go as far as it did " she argued before storming off out of the large room.

[shark sailor]

Aster shrunk down behind Serenity and Jordan and sighed.

[Frosty]

"Wh-what happened ? " Serenity stuttered , turning to look behind her

"... You don't wanna know." Aster said. He stood up and sat back down at his spot. Back to sitting like a frog.

Rose watched and looked at Reed. "What're we gonna do with him?" "I don't know Rosie, I just don't know."

[Frosty]

"If you say so " she sighed , most of her voice being drowned out by the bell .

Aster walked to his next class, hands stuffed in his pockets. Some people would whisper. Calling him 'sly fox' and 'sleek faker'. He didn't doubt they knew what had happened. He sat at the back of the class, hid his face with his book.

[Frosty]

Serenity and Jordan walked out, parting ways halfway down the hall . Serenity sat down in her seat , boredly staring at a book on her desk

Aster put his head down and groaned.

"Aster!" Marinette ran to him and shook him. "Aster, you're sick, come on, get up." She said.

Aster moaned and slowly got up, head spinning.

"Aster, you weren't supposed to come to school. You're supposed to be at home. You disappeared from your bed two hours ago." Marinette said, leading him from his desk and out the door.
