Brackenkit opened his eyes that were heavy from sleep and looked around. Daylight was shining through the holes in the bracken and brambles covering the nursery. His littermates, Fawnkit and Gatorkit were both asleep still, so was his mother, Dustmoon. Bored, Brackenkit strode out of the nursery looking for something to do or someone to play with, so he padded towards the apprentice den first, thinking they were the most likely to play with him or any other one of his littermates. "Hello?", he called through the entrance to the apprentice's den.
