Introduction
Hello, Highsnow here! First, I saw a chat mod saying, "Please do not spam/send too many messages one after another in the chatbox." after several messages from a user (in a row) were in the chatbox.

Questions
1. Why is there no time for each message?
2. What if, a person is the only one in the chat box and they post a whole bunch of messages within six hours? Is that still considered spam?
3. Is repeating the same thing (eg: 'This is random.') and posting it several times a form of spam?
4. How many messages in a row are considered spam?

Hi, Highsnow of Matterhorn

1. The timestamp shows if you hover over the username of the message poster!
2. In most cases, yes. When deciding if something is spam, we look at the number of messages, time between them, and whether the person is actively having a conversation with someone else. You can send another message if it's been a few hours and no one's been able to respond, but generally, don't send "a whole bunch" of msgs in the chat.
3. Yes, particularly if it is consecutive.
4. Over 4 consecutive messages, though we take into account the factors mentioned above!

I hope that helps to clarify, but do you have any further questions?

Thank you panchiko for answering my questions!

Further Questions
5. What are the guidelines for the chat box?
6. Is the chat box mobile-friendly? If not, how can the developer make the 'tool/feature' mobile-friendly and accessible to all?
7. Why is there a chat box? What is its purpose?
8. Does the forum base website (for this site) have a chatbox?
9. What links/URLs are allowed in the chat box? Are you allowed to post links to other websites (other than the WCO site)?
10. Is there a separate website for the chat box?
11. What happens if you forget your chat-box password?
12. Does the chat-box username have to be the same (or similar) as your WCO username?
13. When you mention someone in the chat-box, why does it not notify the recipient user that the message was sent to them?
14. When one is 'logged out' but still 'logged in', one can see the chat box. Why is the chat-box only visible to WCO users?
15. How do you subscribe to this thread?

I can answer a few :) hope this helps

6. As someone that uses laptop and mobile, I'll say that the chatbox is mobile friendly as it has a 'pop out' mode that opens solely the chat in a new tab.
7. I think the chat box is mostly for ooc general chatting as RP websites tend to be very social but I am unsure on this one
9. I imagine as long as the other links follow WCO guidelines its fine but I am unsure. Other websites, such as Magma have been put in chat with no issues
10. Yes, in a pop-out form. But I am unsure if this is what you meant.
12. Yes, your chat nickname should have ties to your WCO user
13. Its mostly used as an attention grabber versus anything else, especially when chat is going quick. I do not know if there is more reason to this.
14. I am unsure what you mean but If I am understanding its probably the same reason moderation for new users to exist, to prevent spam, bots, and unsavory folks from getting in
15. Like the help thread? There should be an option to subscribe to a thread after clicking the 'thread tool'

7. chat box is to chat. some ppl dont have discord and its easier to converse than through vms/pms because its insta messaging :3
14. if you mean why you can still see cbox despite being logged out of your wco account, that might be because chat box is a different site. i assume cbox is something you can integrate into your website and it then runs through a private wco only thread. i am just guessing thi
9&10. there is a thread to advertise websites! i believe you are allowed to send links if its to a artpiece etc as long as its within site guidelines and not every 10 minutes or smt
13. probs cuz cbox and wco are dif websites n its just not a feature implimented in cbox
11. you have to make a new account i assume

take everything here w a big grain of salt + i hope i didnt misread anything oupp

5. The Chat Box follows the same rules outlined in our Community Guidelines (https://warriorcatsonline.com/forums/showthread.php?t=4) ^^
6. A lot of our users access it on mobile, so I'd say and hope so!
7. To chat! We like for our community members to engage with one another, and the CBox has been widely requested during the periods where we did not have one up.
8. No, I don't believe vBulletin offers chat boxes without the use of plugins.
9. Depends! Advertising isn't allowed anywhere but the Advertising thread. Some users share stuff like YouTube links, which we permit so long as they follow our guidelines (e.g. PG-13).
10. You can pop the chatbox out by pressing this https://i.postimg.cc/cJWC58VH/image.png, but otherwise, no.
11. There is no 'reset password' function. The staff team will have to delete your chatbox account and have you recreate it, so be sure to save it somewhere!
12. Yes.
13. I'm not sure how mentions work within the CBox, but I'd guess it's something to do with how it's integrated into our site. Technical thing.
14. Theraphosa is correct! There's no reason to allow people who aren't part of our community to use our site CBox, and having it limited to our own members ensures we can enforce our guidelines properly.
15. Go to the first post of the thread -> 'Thread Tools' in the top right > press 'Subscribe to this Thread.'
