The Zodiacs

Some say they are gifted, some say they're cursed. They have an extraordinary ability to transform into an animal of the Chinese Zodiac. And each person can control an element. But they are forced to revert to their animal form if weakened, injured, or unconscious. No one else can know of their powers. They would be labeled as outcasts and worse, get captured by the government for testing.

This is a Chinese (Eastern) Zodiac Roleplay, and takes place on an island called Ravenwood.

-- Roles --

~ The "cursed" people

~ The normal people

~ The government/FBI - If they discover their secrets, the cursed people are in trouble.

~ The Cult Group - They are a group of people intrigued by the supernatural and will do anything to obtain its power. They are capable of using telekinesis and some other powers as well. Also secretly want to overthrow government.


Mechanics of the shape-shifting:

~ We involuntarily change into animals when injured, unconscious, or stressed. Sometimes if surprised, we will change.

~ Once you have been involuntarily changed, you must wait 20 minutes to an hour to turn back. (Not real time)

~ When turning back into a human, you are naked (make sure you remember where you left your clothes!).

~ It may take longer to change back depending on your condition. (if sick, for example, it may take a couple hours or a few days in some severe cases.)

~ You are able to change into your animal form and back at will. This is simply done by imagining the transformation. If you transformed by your own will, then turning back into a human will be done by will as well.

~ The magic of the curse will sometimes wear itself out. Too much transforming can cause it to cease the magic for a temporary amount of time. The time taken for the magic to rest ranges from 20 minutes to a week. May even take longer in extreme cases.

Elemental Powers:

~ The cursed can control their own element in both animal and human form.

~ It takes time/practice to control their element perfectly.

~ They can also form their element out of thin air.


Misc:

~ In their animal forms, no one can understand their speech except the ones cursed.

Garrin is short with tan-olive skin, his cheeks lightly dotted with freckles, and his eyes are such a light blue that his irises appear almost non-existent. His hair is white with a russet undertone, and he reaches a medium height of around 170 cm. Any colours he wears tend to clash with everything else he wears, and due to the fact that he carries trinkets around, audible clanging and tinkling can be heard with his movements.

Rather flashy for even a rooster, Garrin's plumage is impossible to ignore. With mix of russet and white feathers, his long tail plumage flows out into an array of bright, clashing colours which seem unnatural for a regular rooster. Built more like a regular rooster and not the fighting variety, he's rather small in size with a small beak and blunt claws. Holds himself with an air of dignity, though also moves much like an actual bird, with erratic head movements.

Peter was sitting underneath a tree in the park in his rabbit form, curled up on the ground and sleeping quietly. His ears twitched a bit every so often as he dreamed peaceful things, squeaking and shifting his body. The shade from the tree was keeping him cool and comfortable, his tail twitching every so often.

Ross sat in the park on a bench, quietly reading his favorite book. With slightly narrowed eyes, he glanced up every so often to watch some children play with some footballs and soccer balls. He could smell a rabbit, somewhere, and it was asleep. He smiled softly to himself. It must be Peter.

Amelia was curled up next to Ross, her head resting in his lap and her golden hair spilling over him like a river as she slept, a light smile on her face and a book clutched in her hands.

Alexander yawned from where he sat under a tree, staring at nothing in particular.

Sasuke was watching the rabbit in his wolf form. His eyes glowed dangerously as he stalks the sleeping rabbit eventually he begins to move getting closer and closer to peter.

Naruto sits by Ross and smiles " hello~ and you're name is?" He says with a kind smile although it was a bit abnormal for some reason.

Peter get's Sasuke to get his clothes, then Sasuke picks up Peter and takes him through a portal to get to Naruto and the others. Once there he explains everything. It's a big party/get-together, and they're choosing mates. He claims that he's chosen Peter as his mate. Darky is sitting under a tree.)

Lryetia couldn't take it anymore. Without warning she ran out into the open, grabbed her blue dress, and ran into the alley on the other side. She panted as she stopped. The darkness enclosed her primate body as she huddled against the wall. She looked out at the bench again and realized that she had left her gold pumps out in the open. Drat! She didn't want to risk anyone seeing her though so she waited.

The monkey smirked slightly at his frustration. She stuck out her tongue playfully and cackled at him. Her head peeked out from the shadows and looked both ways to look for any humans. No one walked along or paid any attention so she ran forward once again, grabbed the battered clothing, and placed it next to him. Sryetia felt bad for the flashy rooster so she gave him an apologetic look before scrambling away to her bundle. No sooner did she slip into the shadows did her hind legs begin to elongate and her chest begin to grow. Quickly, she moved farther down the ally and hid.

"Suh-ry.. Esha? I've never heard a name like that before. Anyways... I'm Garrin." he smiled and shook the girl's hand. "Well boy can I say, I'm glad you're not... Human human. Like me. I thought I was done for!" he pulled his hand away after the brisk shake, still appearing rather excited, or maybe just flustered. "I thought all the other ones were somewhere completely different... It is a big world, after all." he focused his attention on his surroundings once more. "Being a rooster's not so bad, I guess. I don't eat like that, though... Syretia laughed again at the pronunciation of her name. "It's Si-ret-ia," she corrected. "Well I haven't really been hiding out but I guess I should now. I've only transformed twice now. I was actually just sket-" She stopped and frantically looked around. "Where is it?" she panicked.

"Hm? What's 'it'?" Garrin hadn't being paying enough attention to know of the sketchbook she was carrying at the time. "Whatever 'it' is, it can't be too far. 'Least if you dropped it near here." he looked around the area, looking for any strange objects that didn't fit the scenery. She couldn't find and she knew what it was in the first place, how would he be able to find it? He wondered if it was something he'd taken himself, though she sounded as if she'd only lost it moments ago... And moments ago, he was a rooster. He thought of what she said. 'Sket'? What was sket? Did even have anything to do with what she'd lost?

Syretia kept searching as she said, "'It' is my sketchpad. It holds some personal stuff and i do not want it lose it!" The girl looked under the bench, in bushes, in the gutter. It seemed to have disappeared. She straightened and ran her hand through her curled hair. She glanced at the alley and a white corner caught her eye. There it was. The notebook. A bit tattered but there. Syretia rushed to it and picked it up gingerly. "This is it," she announced.

"Oh... Sketch. You were going to say sketching. Ok... Got it." Garrin watched Syretia search for the sketchbook, scanning the ground, himself. He did feel at least little sad for her. If he'd lost an item from his pile, he'd be in worse shape. Where was it, anyway? It must have moved pretty far for an inanimate object. Once her attention was averted to the alley, Garrin looked her again, noticing the flash of white in the otherwise dark alleyway. By the way she rushed over to it and brandished it, that must've been what she was talking about. He let out a relieved sigh. "So this is it?" he eyed the sketchbook, admiring the way it stuck out in the darkness. If he didn't know it was hers, he might have stolen it, himself.

Syretia inspected the papers carefully. They had once been pure white with smooth charcoal lines across them, but now some of the dirt from the floor had been smudged on and a couple of the thin pages had been ripped out slightly. She sighed in dismay. She turned to the photo she had been drawing and saw that it had been smudged very badly. "Drat!" she exclaimed. "Now I have to draw it all over again." Syretia was especially disappointed by that one because it was being used for clues to a questioned needed answering. Her brown hair swayed across her back as she walked over the bench and sat down. She stared at the page and instinctively fidgeted with the necklace she always wore.
