The main computer has severe problems. The escape pods are locked away. The laboratories door is destroyed. There is limited food.

Abandoned on a space station, survivors all know they will die and not be remembered. The Space Station UCN Bettendorf had been hijacked and severely damaged by alien life, and the UCN Corps had already fled with the Bettendorf's captain, James Callaghan on it. James, knowing that there would be survivors, decides to test his crew, by leaving them behind and not mentioning the rescue. The damage to the station had already cut out the power... Leaving the survivors with the phrase, "We have The Desolate Hope."

Luna paced around in disbelief. They were abandoned! Forgotten! Left to die! This only fueled her depression, which made her suicidal thoughts arouse. 'We're going to die anyway,' they said. 'Why not just kill yourself and save yourself the suffering of starving to death or being poisoned?' She finally slumped down, sitting in the corner. Yes, she was afraid of isolation, but she had others here.... right?

Aspen's mouth hung open at the words he had heard. "Forgotten?" he finally choked out. "We are left for dead? And all he says is 'good luck'?!" he mused, voicing his anger. He glanced at Luna, who was slumped in the corner. 'Oh, Luna...' he thought sadly, knowing what she was thinking. 'We'll prove that jerk wrong and escape. I know it. Just hang in there...'

His slim build helped him move fast in zero-gravity areas. He asked them shyly, "Where is Harry?" He noticed Luna slumping and Aspen looking at Luna. Aethyl gulped and cleared his throat. Luna nodded, not wanting to voice her inner feelings. She bent her knees and buried her face in her arms. "Y-yes, I'm... okay..." she said, trying and failing to keep hopelessness out of her voice.

Aspen glanced at his sister in sympathy. She was only 18, and shouldn't have to go through this trauma. He then looked back at Rose and replied, "We're alright. Thank you." He gave a small smile, wondering how he managed it with all the stress and horror running through his mind. He stood and nodded to Rose. "I can help get everyone calmed," he looked at Rose. "You know, if you need help." Aspen gave a mischievous smirk, positive energy flowing through him even in times of despair. He pushed the unwanted thoughts to the back of his mind.

Of course, if she did actually try to dismantle the door, she could get shocked, or even worse, accidentally force the bolts down into the 'locked' position. She waited for the others to say their input on her idea to see if they agree.

Of course there was always a use for doctors, no matter the weather time or year. She knew that she'd be useful at some point, it wa just a matter of waiting for that time to come and frankly, she was growing bored; even if she knew no injuries was a good thing, she'd rather have everyone alive than only her.
