Hello everyone!
With the writing event underway, the staff team is pleased to introduce the hashtag system to you! It's a fun and easy way to track posts or topics that you find interesting, as well as something the High Ranks will be implementing in meetings and Gatherings to make finding the important announcements easy.
How do hashtags work?
They're quite simple, really! All you have to do is type # word without the space to create a hashtag. For example, # bluebird becomes #bluebird (https://warriorcatsonline.com/forums/usertag.php?do=list&action=hash&hash=bluebird). Clicking on that hashtag will then show you all posts that have used the hashtag.
What does subscribing to a hashtag do?
If you haven't noticed already, in your notification drop-down menu there's a new box that says "New Hash Tags." If you subscribe to a hashtag, every time a post is made using the hashtag you will receive a notification as well as an email. Be warned: you might get double mentioned if you are subscribed to a hashtag that is often used with Clan-wide mentions.
How do I subscribe to a hashtag?
It's super easy! Find a post that uses the hashtag you want to subscribe to and click on it. Once there, you should see a subscribe button above the most recent hashtag as well as one below the last hashtag on the page. It doesn't matter which one you click, they'll both give you the same results!
Another way to subscribe to hashtags is to go to your User Control Panel and scroll down until you see the User Tagging category. Under that, you can click on Hash Tag Subscriptions which will allow you to subscribe, unsubscribe, and overall manage your hashtags!
How will High Ranks use hashtags?
Our High Ranks are going to be implementing hashtags in important announcements to make things easier to track. From now on, meeting posts will have the hashtag tcmeeting, wcmeeting, etc! Instead of scrolling through the meeting place threads to find the announcements, all you'll have to do is click the hasthag and it will show you all the posts made with it!
High Ranks are also going to be doing the same thing for Gatherings. They will be tagging the important announcements with a hashtag labeled gathering, so all you have to do is click that hashtag to find the announcements without scrolling through the idle chatter!
Please note that members are not to use any of the hashtags that High Ranks are using.
