hello, hello! after the current clan-wide windclan event ends, and likely a small break in-between to allow both the cats and the roleplayers of windclan to rest - i would like to host another event! do not worry, it is one hundred percent optional and is solely to offer a fun event for the apprentices of windclan! also, perhaps complete a few requirements so might be missing. :heartbounce:
yet before i can actually begin the event, cowtuft & i require instructors. as you see this is a boot camp - which means the apprentices are going to have the opportunity to go under multiple different types of training. unfortunately, cow's knowledge is primarily related to herbs & healing which is where his main focus will be (and of course, keeping everyone safe during the event) so he needs a bit of help.
this is where you come in, dear windclan warrior. i am requesting for instructors! there will be five primary instructors & five backup instructors (hopefully) all with their own area of expertise. we will also be needing supervisors - warriors who will be secretly supervising the apprentices & ensuring everyone is safe. backup instructors are also supervisors but will be called in if the primary instructors have fallen inactive / unavailable.
with that being said, let's get into the thick of it!
REQUIREMENTS
- this event will take over a period of at least eightteen irl days. every 2-3 days, you should be posting with your instructor and progressing the event. failure to do so will have the backup instructor take over your place. things do happen, so as long as you communicate with me and have your character communicate with cowtuft (this can be during or after the event, he just needs to know what happened. ) - they will not be punished. if there is no communication, there will be.
- i will be helping you brainstorm ideas on what to do with your section but, you are free to have creativity! this is supposed to be fun; it can be light-hearted. you can do silly little things, as long as you teach the apprentices actual stuff, we are good. keep in mind, your section should be able to be wrapped up within 6-9 posts!! (even less is fine!)
- supervisors should make a minimum of three posts throughout the event of their character watching. they can be simple, don't need to be fancy. you are expected to step in / help out if something goes wrong.
- apprentices are going to be able to switch between sections if they lose interest / finishes early, do not be surprised if you suddenly have a shift in numbers.
- in the case there is lack of activity for a section, it will be closed down. hopefully, a separate event can be done solely for that section, but your character may end up being a supervisor and/or helping out another section.
- sheepgrowl will be in the event to translate for cowtuft but, it is preferred for your character to have a basic understanding of asl / body language - not required.
all sections will be wrapped on the eightteenth day of the event. this is not supposed to go on forever. the event may be lengthened by two extra days solely for graduation ceremonies. (an apprentice becoming a warrior because of the event.) which means if that does happen, your character is free to hang out with the apprentices & fellow warriors - have some fun. :heartbounce:
TERRITORY TOUR
- take the apprentices on a trip through windclan's new & shiny territory! perhaps make a mini-game out of it ? or share some historical facts if able!
- at minimum, your character must take the apprentices through the four borders windclan shares! (which means your section should be no shorter than four posts)
- depending how many apprentices you have, you are able to take a few of the supervisors to ensure safety.
- pls don't lose any of the children cow will be sad
HUNTING
- the section for the children who do not know how to hunt yet! you'll be in charge of teaching them the basics. the hunter's crouch, small prey animals, etc.! this section will (likely) consist of younger apprentices, so it might be good if your character is good w/younger cats!
- it is expected that at the very least, hunter's crouch & how to hunt one prey animal will be taught. the more the merrier, of course! ii would like if there was instruction and a chance for apprentices to actually try to hunt buut, /w\ if things get chaotic i get it!
- again, supervise the children. if u do end up sending them out in the territory to hunt, go poke the supervisors to help track the kids
ADVANCED HUNTING
- the section for the older children! it is going to be assumed they've already had at least one training session for hunting and understand how to do a hunter's crouch. this section will likely focus on how to hunt larger prey animals. this might be birds/rabbits/squirrels, any of the little trickier buggers!
- it is expected that at the very least, how to hunt rabbits will be gone over and there will be a chance for apprentices to actually try to hunt. there is a preference for at least one more prey animal being taught but again, i ain't going to be disappointed.
- supervisors will likely be needed for this section!
- during the event, the apprentices are "expected" to hunt for themselves & their fellow apprentices. of course, this is said to be expected but apprentices will not go actually go hungry for more than a day. your character might be called in to do some.. extra hunting on the side. (if there is a chance to.)
- not required or even preferred, but if your character does have the ultimate predator purrk i will be going "ohohoho" /pos it's like an added bonus
BATTLE
- someone has to teach these children how to fight!! this section is for those who haven't received any proper battle training yet. your focus should be on basic defense & offensive moves.
- at least three defensive moves and two offensive moves must be taught at a minimum. you are able to group these into either two or five posts; something inbetween is also possible. on top of that, apprentices should be given the chance to perform at least one spar and/or practice the moves.
- in case of any injuries, please get cowtuft. he is going to be here to assist but he'll also be in charge of his own section.
ADVANCED BATTLE
- alright kids, you've learnt how to not die so now it's time to kick ass. this is a bit open-ended. you can teach the children how to disable and/or kill someone or you can teach them more offensive moves. there's two routes you can go down, and there might be some convincing having to be done with the cowtuft but i'm down for either.
- at least three offensive moves & defensive moves should be taught or two ways to disable someone & two ways to kill a guy. again, must give the apprentices a chance to perform at least one spar and/or practice the moves.
- no claws!! none!!!!!! we just got over a battle ok
- in case of any injuries, please get cowtuft. he is going to be here to assist but he'll also be in charge of his own section.
- not required or even preferred, but if your character does have the beefed up purrk i will be going "ohohoho" /pos it's like an added bonus
