Hey everyone! From out of the blue, staff bring you an update to our beloved KK Cards! Now we know what you must be thinking and are sorry to say but no, the long-awaited re-release of our power cards has not yet arrived. Sorry! They are definitely still on our to-do list. The project has seen fresh activity and I look forward to announcing an update on the progress of this exciting revamp!
First I want to explain briefly why this update is coming about at all. To be perfectly transparent, balance (in my opinion!). Resurrections have been seen extremely frequently as of late, more than we've ever seen them used before. And while it's to no fault of anyone, we wish to see reincarnations used as well! So the objective is to perhaps scale down the use of resurrection cards just a bit, while reminding users of another completely viable and immensely plot-rich option: Reincarnation!
Resurrections
Resurrections will cost 50,000kk instead of 45,000kk.
You will be required to complete a roleplay or visual art of your deceased character dreaming about returning to their body or place of death, either:
- guided by a spirit (StarClan, Dark Forest, or otherwise) who is roleplayed by another member.
- working alone to locate their body or place of death by themselves in their dream if they are not a believer in spirits, or have their own faith in a VA.
When you have posted a VA or completed a roleplay where the deceased character has successfully reunited with their body or has found the place they passed away in this dream, purchase or use your Resurrection Card. To use an existing resurrection card, just let the staff know by submitting a Support Ticket (https://warriorcatsonline.com/forums/misc.php?do=form&fid=33) stating your use of the card with a link to the completed roleplay/visual art. If you are purchasing a resurrection card, in the "Comment" section of the KK donation, paste the link to your roleplay/visual art along with the reason for the donation so staff can see.
Reincarnations
Reincarnations will remain at 25,000kk.
In order to have a very good chance at your character being approved by Clan High Ranks for reincarnation, they should have left a lasting mark on the living- Their family, kin, Clan (through raising offspring, mentoring cats, participating in Clan events).
You should also try to imagine things their future character would do for those around them if approved- Who could they be, and how will that impact those around them? Their Clan?
- your character should not need to have been a "good guy" in order to be approved.
- there will be more leniency with kits, who passed away too early to show their potential.
If denied, please try to roleplay your deceased character in the interim of your next application for a reincarnation (you do not need to purchase another card to resubmit an application if previously denied). It adds depth to your character, but also provides more reasoning to add into your application later on.
Staff will work with current High Ranks to determine who can view and approve or deny requests, as well as encourage group discussion on each applicant.
Perks
Perks will replace Power Cards, and be purchasable for an undecided amount- Though we are thinking between 120,000kk and 200,000kk (this is subject to change through progression of the project)!
We are working hard to figure out the new mechanics of the Perks, but the best way to describe them in the simplest terms is "skill tree." Our reasoning for retracting the sale of Power Cards and going forward with Perks is to try and make the "supernatural abilities" we give our characters a touch more realistic. We are not going to prevent members from using Power Cards purchased or obtained prior to their removal from the KK Shop, but they will likely never be put on the Shop again.
As staff push to further this project, there will likely be a need for testers, but a future post detailing Perks and explaining what is required will definitely be put out when that time arrives.
