Its New-Leaf, and with blooming flowers and leafing trees comes BUGS!

That's right, just a whole swarm of them. Some snoozing comfortably in flowers, some buzzing annoyingly around your head. With pretty flowers come some pretty bugs! Big ones, small ones, squishy ones, leggy ones. The possibilities are endless!

With this big swarm of bugs, come an equally, as big, competition! Bug catching of course! Catch as many bugs as your little paws can hold! Of course, only certain bugs will earn you merit points. Depending on how many points you earn, you can earn your very own Bug Badge!

Below are the different points you'll earn depending on the bug you catch!

Centepiedes: -5 points (For most cats)
Fireflies: 3 points (There's your fire right there folks, heard some of you were lookin for some fire)
Beetles: 4 points
Butterflies: 5 points (For most cats)
Golden Bee: 10 points

Many points to earn, especially with that golden bee. Carefully taken care of, than gently released by our own Co - Host Singekit! Catching one of those Golden Bees will surely bump you up in the ranks, and get you closer to your patch!

As you post your Characters tryin to find some of our creepy crawly celebrities we'll be rolling a 20 sided die! Depending on what number you land on will determine how many points you earn, or if you'll get your hard earned points taken away.

Centepiedes: 1-4
Fireflys: 5-10
Beetles: 11- 14
Butterflies: 15 - 19
Golden Bee: Nat 20

Your limit is 3 Characters!
Just post your bbys doin their best to catc some of these creepy crawlies in this very thread! From there we'll get the ball rolling!
I'll do my best to roll a die at the very least once a day, at most twice a day! So you don't have to worry about being stagnate or rushing to get a reply out.

The final day to catch our swarming buddies will be the 7th of June, final posts out by 12 am AKT! After that, I'll have your bug scout badges out by the 13th of June, at the latest!

With that all lined out, out to the meadows we go! Good luck and have fun!

In a non-canon event, sometime in 2022, at the end of the beautiful May month, which unfortunately had no fires, Softpaw had gathered for an event hosted by a missing kit and some strange black purple cat with glowing purple eyes named, Percivial? How peculiar, but it didn’t matter, today was apparently peaceful, which is how we know this is non-canon, as they had to search for little bugs for points.

So, after the rules were probably explained [Idk, Star just told me to search], she went to look for the bugs, with Centipedes being the ones she wanted to avoid, for several reasons, cause they were just gross in general, she wouldn’t even get them if they were worth a billion points!

-{ Lion'Kit blundered up to the meadow, unfamiliar with the terrain as he was used to the muddy and swampy ground of ShadowClan, and especially the mossy and warm and dark nursery. But he was big enough to be out of the nursery now, anyway, so he would be fine!

Pouncing on any bugs he could see, Lion'Kit would try his best to make Ruffle'Kit proud, because his own brother loved to hunt bugs. Hopefully he'd be here, too! The little ShadowClan-Kit tumbled in the grass, giggled erupting from his little maw. He was going to love this. }-

Willowkit (or paw, apprentice cerimony going on at the moment)

Bzz bzz Willowkit growled and snapped at a bee the was hanging around by her ears, it had been there all day and she was getting sick of it. On second thought, though… it might be fun to try and catch some creepy crawlers. She got up and began searching for a good place for digging, she finally found a muddy spot and stuck her paw down using her claws to catch onto the dirt, she then pulled up beginning to dig a hole. This was a good place to dig, shed have to come here every day and look to see if she could find any.

Bug catching? Bushpaw was intrigued, and couldn’t help but grin. Yeah, he could do it alone and probably lose, but pride month was the next day and he knew exactly who to get for this exact reason. His very good incredibly close but not that way friend, Lotuspaw. Bounding over to them, he felt a purr come from his throat in the bestest of friendliest of ways. “Do you wanna catch bugs with me? The both of us together seems like a great idea!” Face flushing, he knew (kinda more of hoped) what Lotuspaw’s answer would be. He awaited for them to take he head start in the search, he bounded behind, a warm feeling in his heart that could only be caused by a true friend.

Bees hummed in the flowers and butterflies flew over Roosterflame’s head as he made his way through the little meadow that he frequently visited, looking for bugs.
It had struck Roosterflame like an alien thought the night before that he should go out and search for some creepy crawlers for fun this afternoon, and (listening to his subconscious) he decided to do so, determining that it would be fun and a nice way for him to get out of camp for a while and see the sights.
Roosterflame loved the picturesque views of the forest from the little hilltop meadow, it made him feel small and huge at the same time, important and unimportant, significant and insignificant.
Enough lamenting about that, though, it was time to catch some creepy crawly critters!

Echoblue padded around seeing insects around she had bees and spiders on her" Ah!!!!! BEE SPIDERRRRR!" she yowled lashing it off and stomping on it killing the insects that was on her" ewwwwww..." she says disgusted and creeped out

Ashclaw attended with great joy for he wanted to end the bugs" now this i would defently attend" he mumbles joining on with his surrounding

Robinflight walked around seeing a bug near him he stepped on him" ugh little dusgust bugs" he says then continuing on joining the bug he looked around seeing some are from different clans" smashing great yay" he says sarcasticly

• LOTUSPAW W/BUSHPAW! | THE MENACE AND THE MARSHMELLOW [ error ]
The star-lit pelt of the apprentice be seen from miles as they grinned at their lovely friend. How could they resist that offer? "Oh you know it!! YEAH!!" Lotuspaw rumbled, they could never pass up a competition. Their gaze scanned their surroundings, attempting to work up a proper game plan before rushing in. Watching the fireflies buzz about filled them with childish joy. Wonderful snacks too! With a purr erupting from their chest, they took off in an attempt to catch a few bugs - hopeful that Bushpaw would follow. They launched themselves through the air, seemingly tackling nothing. Bursts of laughter when they rolled about.

They didn't stay in one place for long, jumping to their paws. "C'mon, Bushpaw! Let's kick some butt!" Lotuspaw giggled and began to lead the apprentice about in search of bugs. Two was better than one and they were going to catch SO MANY.

• WORMBITE | THE DARK LORD
The oriental pushed through the floral, frowning deeply at the swarms of bugs. This was unacceptable, he could not allow an overpopulation of bugs to occur in his precious lands. Now, if Wormbite enjoyed sprinting through to give everyone a scare then no one had to know. This wasn't exactly canon, anywho, so he felt no need to keep the frown on his face for much longer. He grinned and went off to attempt to catch a few bugs! Maybe Snowleap would appreciate them.

Ah... perhaps.. even Fawnspring will...

• COWPAW | THE GENTLE GIANT
The medicine cat awoke to nothingness. A very strange experience, truly. As if all the light in the world had been snuffed out. Which quickly became an invalid statement when he realized light peered through at the other side. Cowpaw wiggled closer but it seemed as if he was unable to. He pulled back with struggle, panic rising up in his chest before plop! He popped out of the log, falling back onto the ground with a loud thump. He stared blankly, a butterfly landing onto his nose. "Oh... hello little one, it's wonderful to meet you... do you know where I am... I seem to be..." Cowpaw looked around his surroundings.

"Oh golly!" He gasped, and the butterfly startled - leaving him be. He was completely dumbfounded, where was he? Quite a lot of bugs around, that's where he was. How particular, he smiled softly. Turtlepaw liked bugs! A great opportunity this would be, it would razzle his berries! And off Cowpaw went to collect bugs.

The flame-point tom sat back with his friend, fangs overlapping his bottom lip. Everyone seemed pretty dang into this bug competition, for what? A badge? Boring!!! They should catch bugs for world domination if they're gonna do something. Bleh, Sizzlingkit reined supremancy so it didn't matter anywho. "Losers," He scoffed, rolling his eyes but he moved in closer to get a better look.

Sizzlingkit grinned, looking to Singekit. "I bet the black and white cat wins. " He mused, wiggling his non-existent eyebrows with a challenging look.

“Are we there yet?” That was what the small brown-furred kitten squeaked while riding on the much bigger dark-furred deputy’s shoulders. There seemed to be a special event that didn’t really exist within the realm of the clans that they were all invited to. The three of them knew how desperately they needed a break from all the non-stop training and working back home, so nobody should be really surprised that they didn’t hesitate to come here. “No, young one,” Snowleap meowed, allowing a softened chuckle to escape him, “But we’re close. Don’t you worry, we aren’t gonna miss anything.” Sproutkit gave a brisk sigh, but didn’t complain, using this time to take in their surroundings with widened, curious eyes. As they walked, the RiverClan deputy glanced at the small fluffy black-and-white apprentice who was trailing beside him in silence. “Are you excited?” He asked, curious to what the molly was thinking about. Upon hearing Snowleap’s words, Cloudpaw seemed to snap out of her thoughts and turn to look up at him. She nodded. “Oh, uh, yeah. I haven’t been to something like this since…” She trailed off, but the tall oriental longhair knew what she was hinting towards. Birdpaw’s little scavenger hunt. That had been quite a fun event from what he had heard about it. “I wonder if Shadepaw will be here.” Snowleap said, eyeing Cloudpaw and giving her a playful nudge, “I heard she’s quite fond of you.” With that, the RiverClan apprentice grew flustered, but didn’t say anything about it. “Who’s Shadepaw?” Sproutkit mewed, listening in on the other two cats’ conversation. “One of my daughters.” He responded to the two-moon-old kitten with a warm smile. “Ohhhhh…” The brown kit said, seemingly distracted by a thing out of frame almost immediately. With that, they all focused on the rest of the journey.

After a bit more walking, the RiverClan trio arrived at the open meadow that was occupied by several other cats. Many bugs could be seen buzzing around in the air as cats from different clans chased them and tried to catch one of the annoying little creatures. Sproutkit’s eyes lit up with excitement. “WOAH!” He squeaked before leaping off Snowleap and tumbling through the grass, making both Cloudpaw and Snowleap’s heads turn sharply towards the kitten in alarm. “Sproutkit, wait!” The black-and-white apprentice mewed as the brown-furred kitten was staggering through the lush grass in search of bugs. The oriental longhair put up his tail and stopped Cloudpaw, shaking his head. “Don’t worry about him. I’ll keep an eye out.” He assured her with a gentle purr, “You go and have fun.” The RiverClan shecat hesitated, but soon nodded and allowed herself to smile. “Okay, Snowleap. Don’t forget to have fun too.” She nudged the older tomcat with her head before scampering off in another direction, sniffing through the grass and trying not to get in anyone else’s way as she began her search. The deputy watched as she left him and then looked back to Sproutkit, who had somehow managed to get a few tail-lengths away from him. Snowleap shook his head and laughed light-heartedly before trailing after the young tomkit, all while starting his own search. While he wasn’t the biggest fan of bugs, he would do his best to have a good time here. Honestly, he would rather just take a nice long nap out in this nice meadow right now.

bugs were a mans best friend.

or, they were one of cornfuzz's best friends. there were so many out today, like, he couldn't even count them all on his paws! bees were cool, spiders were awesome, butterflies were fine - but centipedes..? oh man, they were the COOLEST. so he was purposefully looking for one of those little guys, but would be fine with any bug as long as he could put it in the prisoner's den or his pit. he wondered... would that log have any inside? only one way to find out!

pale green eyes watched the night sky and clearing light up, fireflies flying about. shadowclan was so emo, so the kit was very pleased to see such cute bugs making her home look lively. bounding from the nursery, mantiskit jumped up as high as her little legs would allow her in an attempt to catch the bugs, with a small 'yippee', of course. were there other bugs around?? or were they scared off by the amount of brooding her clan did? with a giggle, she began her search.

my goodness!! there's so many bugs today!! melonpaw thought as he pranced through the territory. bees were buzzing about, butterflies landing on vines and flowers, beetles and centipedes were doing whatever beetles and centipedes did. originally, he was out here to get a few flowers for a certain apprentice they'd ran into, but now that he thought about it.. hm. "i still feel awfully embarrassed..maybe snailpaw would like a little bug buddy?" they wondered with a small hum. well, there was no harm in trying!

Snowfire was a full grown cat. Her head knew it, but her heart was telling her to catch that bug. After all, why should the kits be the only ones allowed to have fun? She crept up behind the bug, and pounced. She missed and landed face first in the dirt. "Owww..." She meowed. She looked up. The bug was there taunting her. " C'mere You!" She yelled. This time, when she pounced about 20 more bugs flew out of the place she pounced on. "WAAAAHHHHH!!!!!!!!" She yelled as she ran as fast as she could back to camp. When she reached the shadowclan camp, she shook off her coat. As she did, a bug fell to the ground. She quickly put both paws on top of it.

Out of camp, out of camp, OUT OF CAMP! Turtlekit bounced up and down on her paws, staring at all of the bugs, before springing forward after some. Maybe they would taste good! Would anyone stop her from eating what she caught? They better not or she would make them eat it too.

through the brush and meadows of this area stood three cats. one that had a presence, and two who hadn't been seen in a while. standing together, they searched around for flowers. "this is.. interesting. i wonder where the bugs are hiding." said the brown one softly. his sleek fur shown in the light as he sniffed the grass under him lightly. the words caught the attention of a ginger molly. her eyes glistened and if you looked closely you could see the difference in color of them. turning her head, she responded. "well, i suppose they'd be in places they like. dark and wet places for beetles, fluttering near flowers for butterflies, that sort of stuff." the beautiful she-cat stepped over to some flowers lightly, she didn't want to startle any creatures that would be under her feet after all. Looking around, she tried to catch sight of any butterflies that would be about, while the brown tom checked for beetles. perking up, a small cream colored molly was annoyed with the atmosphere these two were creating. her confident and proud amber eyes glared at them before she scoffed. "UGH, you guys are so strange. like can you speak up?? its NOT trendy to speak so softly i can't hear you." without her hyrdomoss, the kit had grown cranky and was already fed up with being here. jerking her head in different directions, she looked for anything really. any bug would do, she had heard of these weird ones called fireflies. while regular flies were very disgusting, she had heard that fireflies were all the jazz right now. she wanted to keep her popularity high so she of course went searching for them. trying not to get anything on her pelt, she wandered around while making sure to stick with the other 2 cats. if they weren't going to get this party going, she sure as well was going to.

Dimhazel trotted through the territory when they heard a squish under paw. Sticking their tongue put I surprise, they lifted their paw to see what they'd stepped on and was sad to learn they'd squished a bug. What kind it was, they couldn't tell from all the gooey insides on their paw.
They paused, still looking at the bug. Ever since the attempt with the centipede pit, they'd wanted to some time to just catch and release a few bugs for fun. And with summer on the way (or was it already here?), what better time to go bug hunting? There were probably plenty of the little buggers abuzz somewhere.
They weren't *doing* any thing so..... they took the time to start scouring for bug friends.

Her tail swishing smoothly behind her, Moonlight prowled the forest. Spring was in the air, the flowers were blooming, and, most importantly, the butterflies were coming out. They had emerged from their cocoons and were flirting about sipping nectar. Quite beautiful, in Moonlight’s opinion. She hoped that they hadn’t all hatched yet however. If she could find a cocoon and bring it back to the nursery it would bring life to the place when it hatched, and a beauty that Moonlight sometimes found herself struggling to provide. Tigerkit helped of course, but he still had a few self-care snags to work out. Perhaps she could bring some bugs back for him to practice hunting? Yes, she should do that as well. With that thought in mind, the molly began poking about in the leaves for any creepy crawlies. She wasn’t a fan of dirty things, but it was worth it for her perfect little warrior.

Tigerkit was on the hunt again! He had been working on his stalking skills for a while now, and he had finally found the perfect spot to test things out with some actual prey! Well, as close as he could get to prey in this stupid camp. He REALLY wanted to explore the forest, but both Moonlight and clan rules forbid it. BOOOOORING! But! Back to the matter at hand! The little critters that frequented the edges of the camp, scurrying about their buggy lives. The only question now was what sort of bug he would spot first!

Deadmoon wasn’t quite sure WHY she had decided to do this, but she was rolling with it now. Trotting through the tall grass she watched clouds of gnats rise, observing and dismissing them as she went. She wasn’t looking for tiny little bugs you couldn’t see, she wanted the really EXOTIC creepy crawlies. Something fun for Rookscreech to play around with. A stupid idea, she was aware, but her friend was into weird things! Dissecting bugs might be right up her alley!(We are ignoring how much Deadmoon wants to dissect a few insects herself.) And hey, worst case scenario she plays it off as a joke, a prank of some kind. Absolutely NOTHING could go wrong!

Yes he did,He was already falling back into the toxic mindset like in his early warrior-hood. He sighed sticking to the back of the crowd to not take up to much space since he was one of the larger cat there.

Snailpaw wasn’t exactly interested. Bugs? Finding stuff? Wasn’t something they were exaclty the most interested. And yet, right before she left, he heard Melonpaw say their name. Suddenly they were intensely interested in catching bugs. Practically leaping over to Melonpaw, she sat down, a small smirk on her face, but mostly keeping his composure. “I heard my name? Sure, I’ll take a little bug buddy.” They grinned, inside their head just praying that they wasn’t doing something that would embarrass themselves if Melonpaw rejected them and was just talking to himself.

Pebbleleap (RC)

Pebbleleap padded around, in the lead of a small group of Riverclan cats. They were all murmuring of excitement, ready for their event the whole forest is doing...bug catching. Pebbleleap was determined. She wanted to be the most successful cat in Riverclan. And she needed to focus. No side chat, not dwalding, just focus.

Lilyblaze trekked out into the forest alone. She wanted to hog an area to herself where she could peacefully hunt bugs. Lilyblaze was quite excited, because the WHOLE forest put off warrior duties. Kits could run free, apprentices could quit training for awhile, warriors don't have to be mentors, and elders can relax without kits being a tick on their pelt. The whole forest could have fun for once. Where they could all hunt bugs in peace.

Spiderstorm liked bugs, and as a bug enjoyer, she was always eager to look for more bugs. All shapes and sizes were acceptable. She particularly liked spiders. They were the coolest lil guys. She didn't know if they counted as 'bugs', but the technicalities didn't matter. Spiderstorm liked spiders regardless. And so she went on her little adventure, quietly turning over little stones and pushing leaves out of the way in search of any lovely creepy crawlies.

willowkit loved catching bugs, but as soon as a bug catching contest was called out, she hesitated. should she? she shook her head and rushed over, ready. she nodded, and soon, carefully, searched for a bug. she did care about them, but this was waaaayyyy cooler! her paws were silent as she looked through leaves, before pouncing towards one.

If in some sort of odd, parallel universe, Dogbark had survived his death, he probably would have partook in an event such as this. Thus, this is my interpretation of how the event would pan out for our deceased doggy-faced feline…
Dogbark padded through the forest as flys and gnats flew around his face, oft landing on his nose or ears before he could snatch at them.
Normally, Dogbark wouldn’t be out of camp so early in the morn, but this morning he had heard of a little event being held in the forest, an event about catching bugs, of all things. So, feeling a little bit competitive, he made his way there, curious to see what kind of event (and more so what kind of prizes) would be in the woods at such an odd hour.

She sniffed around, hunting for bugs. Not just sny bugs, she needed to catch that golden bee. Nt just because like all cats, she wanted to win, but she also wanted to see what a golden bee would look like. She just had to figure out how to catch it without being stung... hit it with a brach maibe? No... that would take to much precision and how would she find a branch that was low enough for that to work? No she needed to find a diffrent way. She continued walking, hunting for bugs. Hmmm maibe it would be better to just try it and se what happend? No... there was no winners who have won without strategy. Maibe just pounce on it and take it down before it could sting her? Wouldn't that be to much of a risk though? No pouncing on it would be the best strategy. She just hoped she wouldn't catch a centipede.

Cinderstar, Bravebird, + Fawnpaw
Making a trek out into the bountiful meadow where tall grass stalks swayed in the wind and flourishing trees rose up to touch the sky was a trio of cats. At the front and leading was Cinderstar, pelt freshly groomed and a delicate smile on her face. Her blue eyes were bright and clear as she padded at a steady and controlled pace. Already her whiskers were twitching with anticipation, paws light and ready to pounce at a moments notice.

To her right was a she-cat with far less calculated movements and instead had a bit of a hop-skip to her step. Bravebird was relishing in the fact that she had somehow managed to convince the leader of ThunderClan to take a day off and actually enjoy it. "Maybe it'll give you a chance to straighten out that crook you've go going on in your back from being hunched over all the time," came the snarky reply as she shot the silver she-cat a look, who simply rolled her eyes in return. Not that it mattered much to Bravebird. A smirk followed and she continued about her merry way.

On the left side of Cinderstar, trotting at a much more proper pace with eyes wide in curiosity was young Fawnpaw. She had never seen a place more beautiful, more fantastic! All around were bugs, they were everywhere! In the sky, in the grass, in the trees, on the rocks... Hey! There was even one right in front of her face! With a giggle she batted towards it, copper eyes following its spiral into the sky. "There's so many of them!" Neck craned back, she continued to walk at the older cats side, jaw agape as if she simply could not believe how many there were.

All three came to a pause at the edge of a clearing. "Alright. Now, we do not have long, but I am certain we can all manage to catch some bugs, yes?" Bravebird took the side side, and after Fawnpaw was done watching both older she-cats leave, she let out a last airy laugh before scrambling off to the other side to start her expedition!

--Rufflekit, Rainhound and Tawnypaw--

Rufflekit. Loved. Bugs. In quick strides he followed Tawnypaw, occasionally stumbling over his own paws. They were too large for him! He giggled at the molly, giving her a gentle nudge with his paw. "D- do you like c- collecting bugs t- too..?" he asked, a gentle smile stretching on his muzzle. Tawnypaw laughed. "Of course I do! They're really cool!" She paused at the edge of camp, tilting her head. Where are we supposed to go?

"Halt!"

Tawnypaw and Rufflekit turned at a voice behind them, a startled expression on their faces. Rainhound smiled softly, although she did wonder why she was doing this. Maybe she could cheer herself up a little. "You wanted to leave without me?" she teased, flicking her tail in a comforting manner. Tawnypaw giggled, racing out of camp with Rufflekit close behind. Rainhound sighed, but decided to follow them by stepping quickly. She wasn't going to waste her energy on running when they still needed to collect bugs.

Soon, they arrived at a beautiful forest with lush greenery. The air was moist, and a small stream could be heard trickling in the distance. Tropical fumes seemed to spread through the air, and Rufflekit took deep breaths, taking in the peaceful scent. "Can we go search now?" he asked Rainhound with wide eyes. The warrior nodded. "Of course. Good luck!" With that, all of them took off. Tawnypaw went to the right whilst Rufflekit decided to search to the left. Rainhound stayed in the middle, her grey paw shifting grass aside in the search of bugs.

Ashkit saw cats collecting and catching bugs, so when she saw a black and blue moth(blue tiger moth/Dysphania palmyra), she ran up to it as fast as her tiny, 3 moon old windclan legs could go, and caught it. “Tada!” She squealed gleefully, delight bursting in her red eyes(Ashkit is an albino) in front of two cats, a ginger kit and a purple cat, who seemed to be responsible for all the bug catching.

Hawkice padded up. This sounded fun. With a smirk Hawkice padded off into the meadow.

Fiercefire came up, interested by this all-clan event. He saw other warriors joining and thought I'd be funny to chase... bugs. He was really doing it for the bonding experience with his son, Lynxpaw though, who was right behind him.

Lynxpaw bounded behind his father, excited for the event. The two then padded off to the meadow in search of bugs.

Copperfire stepped into the meadow, eyeing the other cats warily. Great, now he had to deal with cats outside of ThunderClan too. He slinked away towards a less populated area. He was here to catch bugs and that was what he was going to do, alone, without the intrusion of some random cat trying to get him to help them catch more unless they wanted to help him instead. The red tabby threw a guarded look at his surroundings before batting at some grass, hoping to knock some bugs out into the open.

Oh my, oh my! Where- hm. How odd. The fluffy tom peered around him curiously, utterly enthralled by the swathes of green that he had poofed into. It seemed he had just appeared out of the void! Was that grass? Those delicate purple things flowers? How lovely! The calico floof giggled with wonder, his striking blue eyes dancing with glee as he began prancing through the meadow.

WOAH!! A sharp gasp came from the kit's mouth and he came to a standstill as he caught sight of a butterfly, daintily clinging to a blade of grass. With bated breath, the tiny tom crept forward, and every so gently lifted a paw to boop the butterfly. The creature rose with a flutter, eliciting another wondrous gasp from the kitten. He turned, watching over his shoulder as it floated away until it was a speck settled on another piece of grass. This place was wonderful!

"Oh, what was that?" The kit's ears pricked, his gaze casting up to the skies as whispers came down like rain. Instructions! He could follow instructions! Catching bugs... like that butterfly? Oh, what fun! With a playful squeal, Nectarinekit leapt into the air and dove towards the nearest briar bush in hopes of frightening some creepy crawlies out of their hiding spots.

Rose'kit would sniff and listen. There was literally a Golden Bee right there! She could tell by the way it smelled. She realized it was on a flower. I could use that to catch it, the next flower it goes on, I'ma take the flower and put it back on my nest. THen after the bee crawls out i'll get it under my paws. I hope... The sat there listening for the bee to go on another flower. Rose'kit knew their was another cat there. She didn't want to bother telling another person she was blind today.

Roosterflame swiveled his head as he saw a flicker of movement out of the corner of his eye, a firefly! He quickly turned his entire body around and leapt at it, claws groping for the small bug.
He caught it and held it gingerly in his paws,
“Hello Mr. Firefly,” He said softly as it walked up and down his paws, “How are you today?” The firefly didn’t respond, it only walked.
“Just between you and I, I don’t think you need to die for this little game. I’ll let you go,” He opened his paw and out the firefly flew.

Dogbark saw the centipede almost instantly, and he leapt upon it, grabbing it with his sharp claws. He looked down at it, a memory surfaced.
The last time he’d ever laughed, the apprentices had been freaking out over a centipede, which they soon had named Centipedepaw.
He grinned slightly as he took the squirmy wormy in his jaws and moved on. Oh, those apprentices were so silly…

Rufflekit quickly pounced on a butterfly as he saw it, grinning as he threw his head back. Tawnypaw and Rainhound were still trying... nevermind! Rainhound caught something too. Rufflekit bounded over, nose wrinkling in disgust as he looked at the animal between her paws. "A centipede? Seriously?" Rainhound's whiskers twitched in amusement. Soon, Tawnypaw came bounding over. "Look!! A firefly!" The trio was happy with their catches, and continued scouting the forest for crawlies.

Nectarinekit shrieked with glee as bugs flew up into the air. Soft kitten paws began batting at the skies, hoping to collide with one of the flying jewels. It seemed his luck was good today, as his paw gently pulled a butterfly to the ground. It was so pretty! Its speckles looked just like his! Wait, did that mean he was pretty too? The little tom giggled, pleased with his conclusion, as he leapt into the air to catch another bug.

Dimhazel started their search under logs and rocks, looking for some of the bigger creepy crawlies. They tried to disturb them as little as possible, keeping their movements slow and calculated. There were plenty of bugs, but they either skittered away before they could reach for them or they were so small they worried about squishing them if they tried.
Eventually they found a rather nice looking beetle, and picked it up before it could escape them. Their whispers twitched as they let it crawl on their leg for a bit.
"OK, time to go back home now."
But when they tried to scrape the bettle back into the ground, it crawled onto the new limb and clung to them.
"Or you can come along with me, I don't mind. Be careful not to get squished."
Rather than responding, the beetle climbed up to their should her disappeared from their sight. At least it wasn't as likely to get crushed on their back.
New little buddy still with them, Dimhazel trotted to find more bugs.

➢ Pawing through the grass while humming casually to himself, the dark-furred deputy soon came across a large, peculiar-looking bug that made his nose scrunch up with displeasure. For the love of StarClan, why did he think coming out here was a good idea? Snowleap picked up the beetle with one paw and inspected it with his partial gaze for a moment. Bleh… He hated bugs. So much. Well, not in a sense where he goes out and kills bugs for the fun of it. The tall oriental longhair actually respected all forms of life one way or another, but they did not like touching the creepy crawly critters. Suddenly, the beetle flipped around and landed upright on his paw, making him shutter. It wasted no time in crawling up his leg and resting against his broad right shoulder. Snowleap desperately choked back a scream that wanted to escape his mouth. He took a deep, shaky breath. This was okay. This was fine. He drew his attention back to the hunt for bugs, moving forward with careful paws. Cloudpaw |she/her
➢ Breaking away from Snowleap and Sproutkit, the fluffy black-and-white molly hopped through the meadow, peering around at the buzzing bugs that were flying around in the air. Hm. Could she catch one of those? Maybe. Readying herself, along with doing little tippy-taps with her back paws, Cloudpaw sprung upwards with a huff leaving her. Homing in on one of the flying buggies, the eager RiverClan apprentice grasped a glowing one with her tiny paws and came falling back down to the ground, successfully bringing the firefly back down with her. Cloudpaw soon landed in the soft lush grass with a thump and uttered a giggle, feeling the firefly squirming between her two paws. “I’m sorry, little friend,” The small shecat said, “Here, you can go.” She parted her paws and watched as the bug flew away, disappearing somewhere into the fray of flying bugs that lingered in the air. Cloudpaw was glad that she hadn’t accidently killed or harmed the little bug. With that being done now, the curious young molly went back to searching, walking through the meadow and seeing what other bugs looked fun to catch. This was quite fun!Sproutkit | he/him
➢ Staggering through the tall grasses on wobbly, unbalanced paws, the tiny tomkit peered around at the cool creatures that were crawling around him. He had never seen so many bugs in his entire life! Which wasn’t much, since Sproutkit was only around two moons old, but it was all he ever knew. Eventually, his green eyes locked onto a rather big looking bug that looked like a spiky worm. Huh? As his body swayed from side to side, the RiverClan youth tried his best to crouch down low to the ground and jump onto the centipede. Once he landed on it, the long critter immediately wiggled in his grasp and scurried off deeper into the green grass before he could even think to have a much better grip on it. “Hey, come back!” Sproutkit whined, “I just want to be your frwend!” He pouted for a moment, sniffing. Had the tiny brown-furred kitten been too rough? Should he have approached it differently? What had he done wrong? Sproutkit didn’t know, but soon decided to not let it get him down. Slowly getting to his paws, the RiverClan tomkit put one shaky paw in front of the other as he continued through the vast jungle of grass that he was currently traveling through. Maybe he’d be able to make a new friend soon. There had to be at least one cool bug in this meadow that would be nice to him! From that point on, that became Sproutkit's mission. He would become friends with a bug! He just had to!

Rose'kit gave up with the bee. It never moved to another flower. She wandered through the forest and found a clearing. In the forest there where so many scents! "Roses!" She squealed "Roses, just like my name!" she leaped as she said this and danced through all of the flowers. She could hear a buzzing too; the buzzing of a firefly.

Blizzardsky let out a pounce into the air grabbing a butterfly in the air with his paws flattening it between his paws as he dropped down with his catch. He then decided that hunting bugs was kind of fun so he decided to try again.

Gloomkit liked squishing and killing bugs. It was fun. Especially if she did it slowly and watched them squirm and struggle to escape before killing them. Sure it was a bit psychopathic, but she enjoyed it and it was just a bug not a cat or anything. She spotted a bug and began to sneak up on it ready to slowly kill it.

In the warriors den, Snowfire found another bug. She wondered how on earth it got here. It was absolutely beautiful. "Another bug for the collection" she meowed to herself. On her way to the place where she put the bugs she caught, she found another bug. It was just as pretty as the first. She put them both in her collection.

Spotting a bug, she pounded on it before she could register what it was.

After only a few minutes of searching, the first bug made its appearance. As Moonlight shuffled about some leaves hoping to disturb the little buggers, a small black form went airborn. Flitting clumsily about it was easy work to knock out of the air, its orange bottom flickering weekly. Deciding that it would be a bit implausible to bring it back to the clan, Moonlight blew softly on the bug, urging it back into the air. She had no intention of squashing it, that would dirty her lovely paws, but she also didn’t want to have to hop around on three legs while it rested on her foot. They both had things to do, and should get on with them. The next bug might not be so lucky.

The first bug Tigerkit managed to spot was simply exquisite. A beautiful butterfly, yellow wings fluttering alluringly as it traveled through the camp. Why it was here when there weren’t any flowers(they ate flowers, right?) was beyond the kit, but that wasn’t what mattered. Catching it mattered! Stalking was pointless since it was in the air, so Tigerkit turned to a more entertaining if less exact method of capture. Jumping. The butterfly seemed unaware that the claws grasping about were intended to ensnare it, and so fluttered ever closer to the ground. With one massive leap, the kit slapped it out of the air, standing over his prey in triumph. He felt a bit bad about killing the pretty creature, but it would make a great present for his mom! She liked pretty things! Maybe he could find some more? Energetic once more, Tigerkit kept his hopeful gaze trained to the sky.

A butterfly wasn’t QUITE what Deadmoon had had in mind, but she supposed it would do. It was the first bug of any substantial size that she had spotted, and so, naturally, it attracted her attention. As she tried to make up her mind as to how to dispatch it, she gained a great appreciation for the delicate bug. Its long proboscis dipped delicately into the flower from which it sipped, wings fluttering alluringly. In the end, she didn’t end up killing it. It brought up a few memories of her childhood, and she had no desire to go prancing about with more dead butterflies. While she doubted anyone would say anything, having the butterfly land politely on her paw before flitting off was more than enough. In the hopes of finding a bug which she wouldn’t feel as bad dispatching, Deadmoon headed for a rotting log. Time to go poking about inside!

She giggled as she stalked about in camp, her tail raised and her back flat as a board, moving stiffly as her paws scuffed the ground, kicking up light dust. She smelled a bug! Or, maybe that was just the faint scent of a clanmate. She couldn't really tell the difference between scents quite yet, mind you. She was just so young! But it's a nice thought, she fancied bugs. She attempted a befriending a bee once, yet, it left her. It's tiny yellow presence soon bumbling away because the cat that stood before it was just so loud. All Hawkkit's huffing and puffing, excited squeals, the bee couldn't stand it. Rejection, something I'll have to get used to. Her mind let out a heavy sigh, as she slumped around, her original, attentive position, turned to a messy walk, swaying from side to side, thinking about how she was just an outcast from the bug world.

He stopped to smell the flowers, a peculiar red poppy gently swaying in the wind stood before him. He gave it a small smile, feeling an odd pang of sadness at the sight of it, as if he had just lost someone. He slightly tilted his head, watching as its petals softly brushed against one another. He stared at it, still not fully understanding the sensation it brought, and he turned away, being careful with his pawsteps as he continued his hunt.

As Bushpaw lept at the flying bug, clasped it in his paws, and dropped straight on his back. Letting out a cry of pain, he got back up, and looked at the little bug in his paws from a little whole he made to look in them without it flying out. It was almost mesmerising, the little glow bug. It was adorable. He needed to show it to Lotuspaw. Running over to them, eyes lit up with excitement, he spotted that they had a firefly too. “You found a firefly too? Aren’t they so cool?” He grinned, running off to go find other bugs to show them.

Gross. Centipedes were the probably the most disgusting bug they’ve ever seen, but they didn’t want to just quit right there and then and walk away. That would be humiliating. So, she killed it, before balancing it on the back on his neck and going off to find other bugs or sumthin.

The long-haired warrior laid in the long grass, enjoying the relief the cool ground gave them. There was plenty of noise around them, but the most obvious one was the buzzing of various insects. They didn't mind it, to them it was another instrument in nature's song, a song which they loved to hear. But the energetic cat soon got bored of relaxing, and an idea came to mind. It was something they hadn't done since they were a kit, but it could prove interesting enough. The lynx-point set off to find some bugs to hunt.

The bobtail stared at the bug that had landed on their large paw. Their tongue darted out to wet their lips, ears lowering in anticipation. It glowed brightly, seemingly awfully peaceful. That was what Lotuspaw couldn't understand. The light it produced - amazing. It did bring a question.

Lotuspaw recoiled at the taste, swallowing on the premise they were in too far. "Bushpaw!!" They yowled, looking around for their friend. Oh! He was already talking to them. "YEAH! YEAH! Very cool, indeed! Glad you're here, am I glowing? I think if I eat enough I can unlock their .. abilities. " Oh, there he went. With a grin, Lotuspaw went back to searching.

His tail flickered back and forth, he definitely caught something. Most likely a moth or a butterfly. He was unsure what to do with it now.. Wormbite settled for carrying it around until he believed he was satisfied with his new collection of bugs. He went off to hunt for more, his nose twitching.

"Lovely..." The medicine cat gasped, a purr escaping from him in delight at the firefly he had caught. He watched the bug's light flicker, an amazing feat. It would be interesting if they could somehow harness the light fireflies offered but Cowpaw supposed they were too finickity.

He smiled, watching it flutter away before going to continue his search of bugs.

Hmm, well this was certainly a find. As the silver spotted she-cat crept through the undergrowth her keen eyes caught sight of a scuttling little beetle. She watched as it made its way across the ground, her chin coming to rest just barely above her paws as her blue eyes were wide. Behind her, the fluffy stub of her tail wiggled in anticipation before she pounced, entrapping the small creature underneath fuzzy paws. "Got you," she chuckled lightly, lifting one paw to take a peek. It was frantically trying to scurry away and with an amused twitch of her whiskers Cinderstar lifted her other paw to allow it to run off.

With that first one "caught", she turned to head deeper into the lush territory, making her paws fall soft and light so as to not alert any of the bugs nearby. Blue eyes remained alert and searching as she surveyed the territory for her next catch.

Bravebird: +4 [Beetle]
Having distanced herself enough from the trio Bravebird set to work on surveying the area around her. Most of it was void of bugs except - there! Underneath a pile of rocks and hidden behind some spongy moss. The lynx-point lilac she-cat stalked the beetle, tail hovering just above the ground. Just a little further...

Aha! With a swift scramble Bravebird managed to trap the little creature underneath her paws. "You're mine you little insect," she purred in pride as she lifted a claw, the beetle hooked on the other end. But then she thought of Fernpaw, and how he might be upset to see that she was about to kill the beetle. So with a soft sigh she placed her paw back down and watched it hurry off before continuing her search.

Bouncing along the trail was little old Fawnpaw. She had an exuberant smile placed on her face as her tiny paws hurried her across the soil, brushing past the undergrowth. Eventually she came to the edge of a beautiful meadow with bountiful flowers and bugs all around. "Woah!" Gazing around with kit-like wonder the young she-cat padded slowly forward to observe, giggling as the wings of a butterfly graced her cheek. The bugs seemed to be wanting to play with her!

"Hiya bugs!" With a leap of joy she began to frolic in the meadow, eyes aglow with excitement as she jumped and leapt and twirled. She wasn't really paying attention until she landed - and right on her nose landed a really fuzzy little... "Bee!" A small gasp came from her as she crossed her eyes to see it. It was a really pretty golden color, and it seemed to be resting right on the bridge of her nose. Another wide smile as she reached up and bopped it lightly with her paw. It twitched a little bit before flying off. "Goodbye Mr. Bee!" she called with a waving paw before going back to her little meadow adventure.

EW! With a shriek, Turtlepaw chucked the centipede away as hard as she could. GROSS!! She wanted the nice bugs, not the one with the literally MILLIONS OF LEGS.

Still feeling entirely grossed out, Turtlepaw turned to chase after another. Hopefully it wouldn't be another DISGUSTING LEGGY THING.

Willowbriar had never really tried that before, but trying new things was fun! With a bright smile the blue-gray molly raced through the field, hoping to catch as many bugs as possible.

Once more, Storm was exploring. The forest was buzzing with life around her. Birds chirped, the undergrowth rustled with unseen creatures, and the bright colors of butterflies fluttered by. Up ahead of her, the blue-gray cat spotted a large rock. What a perfect place for bugs to be hiding! Willowbriar raced over to it, her tail held high with excitement. Lifting up the rock with her paw, her heart raced as she waited to see what she'd found. A centipede. With a shriek, the molly dropped the rock, scrambling back. Panting slightly, a shiver passed through her body. Ugh. She quickly got to her feet and ran in the complete opposite direction, hoping to find something better that would get that horrible sight out of her mind.

With a stroke of luck, a bright flash of color caught Storm's eye. An orange and black butterfly fluttered lazily by, taunting her with its leisurely flight. With a small smile, the large she-cat crept forward, crouching and then leaping on the beautiful creature. Carfe not to land too hard, she picked up her paw a little, admiring the bug. How pretty it was. Sighing, she lifted her paw and let the small creature go. Well, on to finding the next cute critter!

As she sat by the riverside, a small light in the growing dusk caught her attention. A small firefly crawling in the grass at her paws. Curiously, Poppythroat reached out her neck and sniffted the glowing bug. At the small gust of air the beetle-like creature lifted in flight, creating a soft buzzing noise. How interesting. Wanting a closer look, the elder batted the bug to the ground and caught it in her paws, observing it for a moment longer before letting it go. Looking once more at the river, the ginger she-cat waited for another bug to once more cross her path.

The tom looked around trying to find a bug and there a few fox lengths away was a firefly. Ooooo! He had never caught one of these before. Bugpaw moved over until it was right there in his face. It landed neat him and he jumped back a bit. It wasn't going to hurt him! He then got the courage and caught it between his paws and the ground. Bugpaw was wanting to add this to his collection, but decided to let it go. He'd find another one later, maybe.

She spotted a bug crawling around in the grass. She dropped into her hunter's crouch and pounced on it. She picked up her paws to see what she had caught, and with a sinking feeling she noticed it was a centipede. How could she win now? That golden bee was her only hope!

Fiercefire saw the small creatures light above his head and swatted his paw up, and caught a Firefly. It wasn't the greatest but it was better than a centipede.

There, in the grass! Something shines through the blades of grass. Copperfire cautiously bats the shiny thing towards himself. A firefly! How beautiful! He pushes it into an upright position and watches it fly away. However he now feels guilty about keeping the golden bee under his paw, so he finally frees it from his clutches and watches as it leaves him too, seemingly disgruntled by its short imprisonment. The red tabby lets out a soft chuckle and moves to stand.

This time he moves forward a little bit. He speculates that he has scared away the nearby bugs by now, which means that he should find some more if he moves a little bit farther away. Who knows, maybe he'll find the same golden bee, after all, it's just a little bee, how far can it move? Copperfire sticks his right paw into a thicker patch of grass and scoops out what he can find, using the slightly bent paw as a spoon.

Another elated squeal came from Nectarinekit as he smacked down a firefly. It glowed!! How did it even do that?? The fluffy calico briefly wondered if he might be able to glow, or if there were any cats who could glow, before getting distracted by something crawling through the grass and pouncing at it.

Another one of these dratted fireflies? Grousing rather angrily to herself, Moonlight waved at the bug, trying to get it away. In the rather clumsy flailing, the bug found itself smashed against a tree trunk. Ick. Now she had no butterflies, no cocoons to hatch them, and a firefly smashed on her foot. Getting to her feet gingerly she began to make her way towards a stream, hoping to purge the stench from her pelt, and hopefully find some better bugs on the way.

AHA! HERE was a bug which he could stalk and smash to his heart’s content! No one would be annoyed if he rid the world of one pesky firefly, especially since they had the entire COVE of them back. Wiggling his hind end as he had seen apprentices practicing in the clearing do, the kit leapt with a small yowl at the flying bug. Knocking it from the air with his first leap he landed a bit ahead of it, whirling with small claws outstretched. On the second attack he was able to pin and kill it, paws a bit gummy but satisfied in his success. Scraping his foot against the ground to dislodge the pulped remains of the insect, Tigerkit was on the hunt again. He was going to prove once and for ALL to Willowkit that he would be the better warrior.

Slicing through some of the rotting wood with her claws, Deadmoon gained access to the center of the log. As she peered into the crevice, bugs skittered left and right, tiny legs flailing as they fled from the unaccustomed light. Diving in with her mouth ready to nab some of the buggies, Deadmoon flinched back with a soft yelp. She wasn’t expecting it, ok? A centipede, the evil little bug, had fastened itself to her nose and was digging in with all its might! Shaking her head from side to side she managed to scrape it from her nose, crushing it beneath her paw. It was a bit flattened, but perhaps Rookie would still like it? Perhaps she’d better try and look somewhere else.

➢ With the beetle still clinging to his shoulder, the dark-furred tomcat kept on moving forward, humming to himself as he went along. He lifted his head to the sky, looking at all the different bugs that flew around the clearing. Snowleap had never seen anything like this before, but they were glad that they were able to witness it, even if the deputy wasn’t that fond of bugs. Then, out of seemingly nowhere, a small yellow butterfly appeared and fluttered down to him, landing on the tip of Snowleap’s nose. His single eye widened slightly, but he then smiled and gave a light-hearted chuckle. “Hi, Birdy.” He meowed softly, “I hope you’re doing okay.” And just like that, the pretty yellow butterfly flew off his nose to another part of the clearing. ➢ Creeping through the tall grass, the black-and-white apprentice began to stalk a plump-looking firefly that was resting on a blade of grass a few tail-lengths in front of her. She had caught one of these bugs only moments before, but it wouldn’t hurt to catch another, right? Cloudpaw kept her blue-hued eyes locked on the firefly, staying absolutely still for about three seconds before springing forward, clasping the critter in her two tiny front paws as she tumbled through the grass. ➢ Scampering and staggering through the clearing with a giggle, the small tomkit peered around in search of a much more friendly bug to chat with. Everyone else seemed to be finding fun little critters to play with, so why was it so hard for him to find one? Hmph! Sproutkit can and would make a friend today or otherwise he was gonna throw a fit. Then, as if the heavens above heard the RiverClan youth, a butterfly landed on Sproutkit’s head, making him blink in confusion. “Huh?” He meowed, trying to look up at the bug perched on between his ears, “What are you doing up there?” Of course, the butterfly did not answer him, but hey, at the very least, Sproutkit finally had a interesting companion.

Upon searching through the undergrowth, blue eyes flickering between clumps of grass, Cinderstar spotted a flutter of color. It quickly captured her attention as she sprang forward with extended paws. A smile stretched across her face as the butterfly revealed itself. Beautiful, vibrant colors of orange and fellow as it hovered just above her nose. "Hello there," the leader murmured with a grin, reaching up to bat with a paw.

Watching as it flew just out of reach, the silver spotted she-cat let out a purr before continuing her search among the lush greenery.

Stalking among the tall grass, Bravebird set her sights on a pile of rocks nearby. Her tail fluffed out behind her as she started to quicken her face, weaving through the stalks as she drew nearer to her destination. Noticing a bit of a flutter near the edge of the rock pile, she got low and crouched, moving forward a bit slower.

...And after a moment or two, she pounced! Paws came outstretched as she made an attempt to pin the butterfly down, but it was up and out of the area quick. It seemed to hover right above her as Bravebird's blue eyes narrowed in spite. "I let you go, I hope you know that," she called up at the butterfly with a small smirk before returning to her search once more.

After releasing the golden bee, Fawnpaw set her sights now on the lush forest once more. Her eyes were wide, scanning the areas around her as she bounced forward and light and airy paws. "I'm going to getcha little bugs!" she called in a sing song voice, then paused. "...But then I will let you go! Right away, I promise! Apprentices' honor," she smiled brightly, tail waving behind her.

Just then, out of the corner of her eye, she noticed a tiny little creature scuttle out from under a mossy rock. Her eyes lit up and she pranced over, keeping her paws just behind the little beetle. "Go, go, go!" she chirped in excitement, giggling as she watched it hurry away. "Bye bye beetle!" With a soft sigh, Fawnpaw turned to get back to looking for more friends.

He was correct in assuming there'd be more bugs further away. Copperfire scoops out a beautiful butterfly. He smiles softly and throws it up into the air, watching as it flutters away. The red tabby remembers the existence of other cats and quickly schools his expression into something more serious. This has been a great day for finding bugs, he kept an eye out for other creepy crawlies coming his way, but he was satisfied with all that he had found, deciding to enjoy the rest of his time there watching the beautiful surrounding scenery.

Willowbriar was still slightly traumatized from the centipede that had startled her earlier. She slowed down a bit as she padded through the field. The lean molly smiled as she took in the many bugs around her. One in particular caught her eye. A firefly! She hadn't seen many of those before. She loved how it glowed softly in the shadow of the plants it scuttled under. Laughing a little, she chased it, batting it about. Finally, she pounced on it. Wow, it really was beautiful. Like a little sun. With a sigh, she let the beautiful creature go. Hopefully it would brighten someone else's day as it had her's. On to the next bug!

Ah, there it was! To her left! A soft glow in the many shadows of the forest. It scuttled on a tree trunk. A firefly! How pretty! Storm trotted over, nearly tripping and falling on her face. Her light green eyes watched it, fascinated as it flew unto the ground. She attempted to pounce on it and observe it closer, but she tripped, accidently sitting on it. When she got up, all that was left was a smushed blob. Oops. Looking away guilty, the long haired cat walked away to find her next critter.
