He was almost too scared to hate him, not only openly but it felt as if deep down, he could sense when they were thinking about him. Punish them as a lesson. This thought chilled him to the core.
Standing up slowly, his legs shook slightly as he made his way out, moving as slow as he could manage as he walked. He looked towards the testing chamber. If he had a choice, he'd avoid it completely, but that was out of the question. His head hung low as he walked, and he refused to look any further forward from that point on.

He heard the sudden outcry, absolutely shocked. Surely they knew that he wouldn't listen... They would be in big trouble now.

He looked around at the others as they cried out for the girl and knew that they'd get in trouble. He refused to speak or say anything, just shaking as he watched the girl with a sick stomach.

Lanks gasped in surprise as the serum was injected, the screams rang through his ears, even after he covered them. He had gotten the message years ago, he couldn't believe what was happening now. Why was it so surprising, though? He'd always acted like this.

"Subject 246 is currently being used as an example to the others," Sage continued, his voice neutral. "Let's give her the punishment for talking back, and see the effects, shall we?" Electricity sparked up, and the machine moved closer to Amelia holding a syringe needle. "Behold the obedience serum. One dose of this lasts for two weeks, keeping the subject obedient and compliant. Let us administer this serum, and see the effects." The needle shot into Amelia's arm, causing her to howl in pain.

"Make me! I'm not taking orders from you anymore! Stop calling me that! I am not a number!" Freddie snapped, angry for being called by his number yet again and for Amelia's torment.

Amelia was crying quietly, her hair falling in front of her face. The chains were released, and she fell to the ground.

He didn't want to talk without permission, least not while he was watching them all, or in the midst of punishing someone.

He looked over at Amelia, silent. He could've ended up like her. He remembered when he used to stand up to Sage, try to rally the others, but was just pushed back down to where he was until he finally submitted. He sighed softly as he watched her sleep, not sure if it was death or not. He couldn't tell with Sage, and that was perhaps the worst part of it all.
