Sootstar
__________

By now, Sootstar was beginning to get used to leading the way alone but, hopefully, by next gathering he would at least have someone to take up the rear and the spot below him on the seastones wouldn’t be so… glaringly empty. At this point he felt as if it would either be a sign of weakness or sign of arrogance to the other clans that he had yet to choose a deputy.

The air tonight held a biting chill - not at all helped by the crashing waves sending sprays of salt and water in their direction. If it weren’t for the fact that his paws were practically frozen through already, he would have cringed as he hopped up onto the cold, damp rock. Hopefully this gathering would go by quickly.

Another gathering and another time he lead WindClan down to the seastones. He was getting used to taking the lead down and he felt comfortable enough for once. Scanning around Breezefeather noticed that only Riverclan had arrived so far and he quickly made his way over to the deputies' spot and then scanned, not a Riverclan deputy this time, so it would just be him and the stiff one from Shadowclan and the annoying lady from Thunderclan who Breezefeather was not sure he could tolerate much of.

Now, he broke off from the Riverclan crowed and found a spot near the Seastones, not too close, for that was the place of a deputy, but close enough that he could easily hear what was going on with the leaders.

Sagebrook padded into the Gathering, nervous but happy. As she glanced around the clearing, she couldn't help but remember the last time she'd been her; the time that Sparkfrost had finally asked her to be his mate. She swept her tail over her mouth to hide her foolish grin, but she couldn't help feeling happy. She finally felt like she was meant to be here.

Her eyes swept the assembled cats, wondering who she could approach. It would be nice to make a friend in another clan.

---Stripeseed---

Stripeseed plopped down near the edge of his Clanmates' huddle, irritably whisking his tufted tail. He'd better make certain to stay away from any of those mouse-brained apprentices this time around. He sighed. The only way to deal with these types of things was to try to hibernate until they were done with.

He blankly stared up at the leaders' rock, willing no cat to approach him. StarClan, if they'd only leave him alone...!

Rosebriar stared around the Gathering area, sitting up straight with good posture. There was no choice: in the cold night, the fur that she had groomed so neatly was fluffed up so that she didn’t freeze to death. Her inquisitive leaf-green eyes scanned the area. The mixture of other Clans’ scents... it was all the same disgusting, incomprehensible mesh from other Gatherings. None of these cats deserved to talk to a she-cat as pretty as her, and although being admired was nice, it would only make sense to be gratified by these disgusting, ungrateful cats. Yet she plastered a sweet expression on her face. Featherwhisker had taught her to always be presentable. Does the cold count? she thought miserably. But if she was going for being flattering, she had to be the full package. With an inward sigh, Rosebriar forced her fur to lie flat and went to quick work grooming it. Pretty soon, it shone in the moonlight. Satisfied, she looked around. Maybe some of these featherbrains would approach her.

Wolffang stood, his paw pads feeling as though they would turn to ice. Another Gathering. His piercing, bright yellow gaze scanned the cats. The mix of scents other than WindClan were distasteful, but didn’t bother him. He knew how much his sister hated them. Snorting, he looked around. The Gathering was a time to gather information and get to know cats from the other Clans, the ones that were obviously less important than WindClan. His nose wrinkled. ShadowClan would come soon. He hated ShadowClan. He wouldn’t talk to them if he couldn’t get information from them.

Leafpaw looked around this was his second gathering yet and he had been in the clan for 2 and a half moons yet he still felt like a outsider, the kits and queens loved him because he always played with them and helped out the queens. He brushed he thoughts to the side and sat down close to the front.

Eldersky shakes her pelt out, sniffing into the cold ocean wind that blustered the area. She hadn't been here in too long (by her standards) and had made a promise to herself to amend that. The gray tabby looks around for her apprentice, but doesn't linger as she pads as close as she can reasonably get to where the leaders sat, without intruding on anyone's personal space too much. Still, she looks to her neighbor and smiles happily. "Good evening!"

Plumpaw didn't like these things anymore, not since Lionstorm forced her to fraternize with Dimwit. Still, the silver molly was here. She told herself that it was so that she could sit by the ocean some more and doze off to the sound of the waves, buuuut... Icy blue eyes graze over the few collected cats who had made it so far for any sign of familiarity. That WindClanner was rude, but at least he was a time-killer. Not immediately spotting him however, the RiverClan apprentice makes her way towards the sandy beach behind the stones. Hopefully Lionstorm wouldn't catch her again.

It was cold, damp, and dark, and the last thing Kestrelwing wanted to be doing is trudging to yet another Gathering. The RiverClan tom gave a snort, tail flicking in dismissal of the rest of his Clan as he made his way towards the back. By the scents that danced around him, only WindClan and RiverClan appeared to be here currently, and for a brief moment he hoped that maybe the other Clans wouldn't show up, and they could all just go home instead of holding what he thought was one of the most ridiculous traditions in Clan history. Gatherings? What were they, if not to please the dead cats that supposedly resided above them. And every moon they had to drag themselves out here. Kestrelwing just didn't understand. With a huff, the dark gray tabby sat down, eyes narrowed and staring up at where Sootstar now resided on his respective Seastone.

At last! Moonpaw bounded into the clearing, her whiskers streaming in the wind against her face. This was her first ever Gathering, and she was thrilled that she had been among those selected to experience it. Eyes wide with wonder, the young molly swung her head around, so many different scents and sights crashing over her like a wave. She hadn't seen the cats from other Clans at all yet, and anticipation raced through her at the thought of finally being able to meet them. Briefly, she wondered where Heathernose was, and if she happened to be here at the Gathering too. The apprentice had been too excited at the prospect of going to the Gathering that she hadn't bothered checking prior to WindClan's departure.

Heronflight walked among her clanmates, keeping close to them. To everyone else this was her first gathering. It wasn't actually not in her previous life. The black and white molly kept her good eye ahead of her while her lower one starred at the ground. She missed being around the living cats of the clans. She knew in her mind she would do a lot better. Her confidence was sure up now. Heronflight sat down near the back of the crowd, hoping a cat wouod talk to her.

Trouble

At the sound of a young, eager voice, Wolffang turned. A black tom, hard to see against the backdrop of nighttime shadows, was staring up at him. One of his ears flicked. He’d been eager as an apprentice. Also, the cat was from RiverClan - the tom had said it, but his disgusting fishy smell made that apparent. Wolffang wasn’t the biggest fan of RiverClan after he’d nearly drowned during that stupid “playdate” thing. But Ebonypaw wasn’t half bad. Not WindClan, but alright.
“I’m Wolffang,” he responded. “From WindClan.” He wouldn’t be rude. It was just an apprentice. “How long have you been training?” he asked curiously, still holding a sterner, more authoritative tone.

Wolffang turned to the tom who stood looking at him and dipped his head. Yes, it was a RiverClan cat, but it was a fellow warrior. But while the stars shone bright and the sky remained uninterrupted, he would be peaceful and learn - even though he wouldn’t mind shredding the cats he met later in battle.
“Nice meeting you, too,” he meowed, even though his fur prickled a little as he thought about his last meeting with RiverClan. “I’m Wolffang, of WindClan. A younger warrior, but I’ve been in the position long enough.”

Featherbreeze, herself being an impatient social furball, got up not wanting to let the cold get to her anymore just sitting around. She got up seeing if any of the Windclan cats would want to speak, at all. As she ventured through the sea of cats talking, catching up, and just overall enjoying themselves (with a few exceptions).
The first cat she noticed standing out of the crowd was an apprentice. A Windclan apprentice to be specific. The young riverclan warrior padded over, trying to shield herself from the cold. "Hi! I'm Featherbreeze from Riverclan, what about you?" She mewed happily. spade

Just as Moonpaw was about to find her mentor - mainly to ask advice as to what she should do since this was her first ever Gathering - a voice caught her attention, ears swiveling around along with the rest of her head. Before her stood a she-cat smelling of fish and water, and it didn't take too long before Moonpaw recognized the scent as RiverClan; just as the molly introduced herself. A smile spread across the WindClan apprentices white muzzle, her tail waving behind her in friendly greeting. "Hi! My name is Moonpaw. I'm a WindClan apprentice." Her blue eyes beamed with joy that another had actually stopped to take the time to introduce themselves. Every other cat seemed entranced in conversations of their own - Moonpaw was glad she wouldn't be left out. "This is my first Gathering, actually!"

Firesweep tended to himself on the walk to the seastones ( what else was there to say besides I can't feel my paws anyway ). With Sootstar leading, an uncertainty seemed to trickle down the clan regarding the break in the line— the cold deputy seat. He was glad that the young apprentices didn't let this unease spoil their excitement too much, but there was a cloud of quiet with the matter shrouding the older cats.

Tall and warm-colored, Firesweep stuck out somewhat against the cold palette of the terrain. He opted to sit a bit further given his stature. And he always enjoyed watching the other clans settle in.

Maybe it's a bit selfish, but he reasons to let the leaders manage the subject. There is no good in overthinking and contributing to the apprehension. Wrapping his long tail around to blanket his paws, Firesweep assumes a friendly smile and takes a deep breath of the chilled air.

Another day another gathering and Snakepaw padded in with the first wave of riverclan cats (sans Sparrowskip, lord knows where his mentor was) making for the claimed medicine cat meeting spot and plunking down. Last gathering he had a serious issue to address that pretty much took precedence over any social desires but now that was dealt with, the apprentice may not know enough to fix every ill but he knew enough to keep his clan alive, for now. So while he would be more then happy to sit and talk with Coldamber again today he was at the gathering with a specific purpose; To annoy the ever loving fur off of FrostPAW. The uppity holier-then-thou she cat had gone too long without her ego getting a good and hard curb stomping down to proper size and as a medicine cat Snakepaw was more then willing to do his civic duty and insult her until she snapped.

"So this is your first gathering?" Featherbreeze decided to seize the opportunity to start a real conversation. "Well don't mind the cold weather. It should be gone by new-leaf" The Riverclan warrior explained. "Usually it's pretty nice to come out here. The warmest spot is over there." She pointed her tail towards the middle of the gathering.
Featherbreeze smiled a bit. The apprentice had a glow in her eyes, it felt refreshing. "So how long have you been an apprentice?" If this was the apprentices first gathering, they probably hadn't been one for long. Or they just didn't want to go. But Moonpaw looked like one to be social, so they were probably just a 'newer' apprentice.

That was one of the first things Moonpaw had noticed upon leaving camp - the weather was bitter and scathing, showing no mercy for any cat whether young or old. It buffeted her thick fur and chilled her to the bone, so she could only imagine how thin-furred cats felt, like some of her fellow Clanmates. "Yeah, I thought it was cold in camp until I came out here!" Almost as if on a cue, the young molly shivered unconsciously, prompting a small chuckle. "Less than a moon. So not too long. I just had my first hunting lesson the other day!" A pause. "What's the hunting like in RiverClan?"

Larkstripe tried not to feel so out of place. The half-Clan ginger warrior followed the rest of RiverClan to Seastones, his pallid teal eyes almost lambent in the dark. He took a deep breath as the evening wind whisked across the sand, bringing with it the strong scent of saltwater. Things had been...different lately. He wasn’t sure if he needed to disclose any of what he had experienced to his brother. Maybe it wasn’t worth burdening the WindClan Warrior. Larkstripe couldn’t decide. He seated himself beneath the towering stones, his marbled ginger pelt bathed in metallic moonlight.

the short walk to the seasoned was quiet as Glidingfeather led the clan there. The crisp leaf-bare air seemed to get colder by the day, and she knew that there was very little more that they could do to prepare. The first thing Ravenpaw heard at her second Gathering was Springpaw's voice. Not the chatter of cats, which her voice would hopefully be helping with soon. Not a noble leader calling out announcements. Nope. Springpaw shouting. But that was okay. She would take it. Because it was a GATHERING! She hadn't ever been to one! Well, since the moon started. Excited, she started running around. "My... second... GATHERING!" she announced between huffing breaths. She couldn't believe it! She was here again! She ran up to a random cat. "Hi, I'm Ravenpaw! "I bet it's hard to catch fish!" Moonpaw replied, trying to picture herself and Heathernose crouching by a bubbling stream, eyes focused on the river instead of the terrain and sky around them. The slippery scales of prey taunting them as they easily slipped out of paw. "I definitely feel like I have lots to learn still," the apprentice replied as Featherbreeze inquired about her anticipation to become a warrior. "But I look forward to it! I just hope I'm able to make it to my warrior day without any mishaps." Not that she planned on having any. Blinking away the thought, she refocused her gaze on the RiverClan warrior. "How long have you been a warrior? Do you have an apprentice of your own?"

rosetherosey

"It's not that hard when you train to catch them. They can be slippery at times though. It's like... Catching a rabbit in Windclan. They run so fast I can't imagine catching one. But with enough training, you'll be catching a lot of them!" She replied to the apprentices' first comment.
"And everyone always has something to learn, whether it be about empathy for others, or catching a bird, nobody will ever know everything." Moonpaw would have a lot to learn about hunting and fighting. But she knew that feeling alone that when you're an apprentice is something she had personally gone through.
"I've been a warrior for...' She thought, she became a warrior at seven moons and she was 17 moons now? "I believe it became 10 moons last moon." Featherbreeze didn't really pay attention to the moons, but she still subconsciously remembered. "And I don't have an apprentice of my own yet." Her voice sounded stale saying this, so she cleared her throat and said something more optimistic. "But if I work hard enough, I'm sure to get one!"
Now they were on the subject of apprentices and mentors, she mewed to Moonpaw. "Now that we're on the subject, who is your mentor?" The apprentice probably had a lot to say about her mentor. And if Featherbreeze was an apprentice at her first gathering she would've been by her mentor's side. spade

If it were entirely up to Finchwhisker, ShadowClan wouldn't always be the last one to arrive. But Dawnstar seemed to have a flair for making the other clans wait, and he wasn't about to take the risk of upsetting her by walking a little faster. As the Seastones came into closer view, a quick scan of the other high ranks told him the other three clans were already present. No need to continue trudging along anymore. Their unofficial obligation of being the last to arrive was met. Quickening his pace just a bit, he made his way over to the other two deputies, noting that a RiverClan deputy had not yet joined them. With a swift dip of his head in greeting, he took his place beside them.

That made sense to Moonpaw. She never thought she'd be able to catch anything faster than a moss ball, but after her latest training session with Heathernose she had become more confidant in her ability to hunt and provide for WindClan. Well, at least in the future. "I used to never think I'd be able to catch anything faster than a moss ball," she mewed, echoing her previous thoughts outloud. "So that makes sense!"

Oh I definitely have lots to learn, she thought, stifling an inward sigh. Her catch hadn't been nearly as big as Bushpaw's, with had subdued her a little, but in the end she came to realize that it was only the beginning of her hunting career. "Wow that's longer than I've even been alive," the white and black tabby molly answered, wonder spilling into her gaze. "I'm sure you'll have an apprentice by the next Gathering. It sounds like they could learn a lot from you!" Even Moonpaw was learning during this polite and civil exchange - that not all cats in other Clans followed their own leaders outlook, and could be nice when conversing with others.

"Her name is Heathernose! I think she's probably around here somewhere..." Moonpaw trailed off, twisting her head one way then back around as she scanned the sandy terrain for the familiar speckled pelt of the WindClan warrior. "She's the best. Moonpaw was so openly friendly it made her feel young again, well, she was already young. But as young as an apprentice. With an undeniable spark, ready to learn everything about the world.
"She sounds like quite the mentor." Featherbreeze started. "And you saw a hawk? What did it look like? Did it get close to you?" The Riverclan warrior was having a good time talking. It was one of the most enjoyable gatherings she had been to. Scratch that, the most enjoyable gathering. spade

Sedgestorm decided he'd tag along to the Gathering. It had been long enough since he left ShadowClan, it shouldn't be actively dangerous for him to go.... right?
He shuffled on in, shivering despite his thick fur and occasionally finding himself huddling to random cats for some semblance of warmth. Why they had these things during such cold weather..... would never fail to stump him.
He was especially not doing well, being used to the thickly forested marshlands and not the open river banks. It definitely didn't help.

Springpaw skittered across the sand, a tiny black blur of chaotic energy. He tumbled down to the Seastones, tripping and struggling against the deep sand, his smile refusing to vanish. The plucky apprentice leapt down to the cove, emerald eyes wide and bright. His first Gathering! He was brimming with excitement, practically itching to meet new cats.
“Good eveningggggg friends!” The eccentric young cat declared, his pitch black pelt ruffled with elation and static electricity.
Twigpaw was fairly confused by the excited young apprentice who seemed to be zipping around like a loose.....something, but he wasn't about to let them wreak havoc on the whole of the assembled clans. That would not be a good idea in any way, and getting his larger body behind the jittering cat, he shoved them a bit towards the side, asking slowly, and what he thought was calmly Hello. I am Twigpaw. What's your name? in an attempt to somewhat quiet down the other apprentice.

Ashenpaws strode confidently after the leader and deputy, his head held high and an arrogant smirk on his face. He didn't plan on actually talking to any of the other cats, especially the cats that seemed to just want to fawn over him. Yeah, he has it pretty bad, doesn't he? Splitting off from the group, the handsome tom swiftly padded over to the beach and laid down under the shade of an overhanging tree branch, his green eyes gleaming in the light of the moon.

Brightpaw was unsure of who she should talk to, so she had picked a somewhat isolated cat, unable to escape her excited advances of friendship, and bounded over. Hi! I'm Brightpaw! I'm from Thunderclan! What's your name? Want to be friends? she word-barfed, jabbering in excitement. Oh, you're really pretty! And you look kind of smart. Are you smart? Cause you look like you are. Do you like to eat squirrel? It's my favorite! What's your favorite food? The words continued, like an unending stream from her mouth as all the while she pranced in a small circle around the new cat before pausing to take a much-needed breath.

Springpaw tumbled to the side rather gracelessly, but true to his name sprung back up, emerald eyes bright with excitement, no offense taken.
“Hi!” He exclaimed, “I’m Springpaw! I’m from RiverClan, and this is my first Gathering...I’ve never seen so many cats in one place, isn’t it amazing?” He beamed.

So this was one of the new apprentices that had moved into the den just a bit ago, good thing he had managed to intercept him and hopefully relax him a bit before he brought the whole gathering into complete chaos. It's good to meet you Springpaw. Well, more closely that is. he amended, since he had no doubt seen him around camp. I'm from Riverclan also, this is my second gathering. It's really not that amazing once you realize how many of them are nasty. Twigpaw added, a bit sadly. He had been excited too his first time, but realized how nasty a lot of the other clans were. ghostwriter

Springpaw tilted his head, emerald eyes comically wide, “Nasty? What do you mean?” He inquired. The naive and eccentric young cat had never had a negative thought about anyone in his young life, and was curious as to what the older apprentice meant.

Meadowvalley padded into Seastones. She didn't go to the regular place she sat nor did she go to talk to anyone else. She turned a sharp right and padded into the shadow that hung their being still. All she wanted to do was think to herself and hear what the leaders had to say. She didn't want any cat going over and bothering her. Meadowvalley sat in the shadows listening to the conversations that were going on then drifted into thinking. (Open but you will be talking to a lost in mind Meadowvalley. She's usually happy but she hasn't been feeling herself ever since the last Gathering.)

A thick-furred brown tom found his way past the gathering masses of cats, guided, for the most part, by the moonlight. Under the iridescence his pelt had been washed over, appearing now with a seeming shade of silver. Flexing his forefingers, Omenscratch popped his seat beside a she-cat, who was overflowing with ShadowClan scent.

A slight but friendly smile crossed his muzzle. "Hi there," he purred to the woman.

The shadowclan warrior would normally set more centrally in a gathering, easier to hear and better to be seen, but this time she was more happy to stay in the back better to cater to her foul mood. Shadowclan was a mass of tension and ever reactive to the clan she served Adderfang was too. Her head ache was not conductive to her good mood and social skills for this gathering so it was really bad for the poor other warrior she was siting besides (a riverclan cat, how strange for the molly she generally hated the sort). "Tonight is absolutely miserable isnt it. I almost pity the deputies, at least we don't have to deal with snow being dropped on us from the leaders." There, that was at least slightly civil right?

A smile graced her muzzle once more as she appeared to have had a positive impact on Featherbreeze with her comment. She wasn't entirely sure how receiving an apprentice worked, but the RiverClan molly seemed kind, caring, and knowledgeable - all things that her own mentor was and more! "Hopefully we can all get to know each other at the next Gathering!" Her generally optimistic tone hung on the end of each word as she replied to Featherbreeze.

"Oh it was huge. It didn't get close to me, but Heathernose almost had to fight it!" Well, not really. The hawk had flown away before any fight had ensued, but Moonpaw was certain that if a battle had come to pass, that her mentor would've emerged the victor. "I stayed behind because Heathernose said I wasn't experienced enough. Which," Moonpaw glanced down at her paws with a shrug, "is probably true." Shaking off the momentary doubt, she returned her gaze to her companion. "But I'm positive I'll be big enough to take one on in no time!'

Lost in his own thoughts - primarily with his own troubles and concerns and much less with those of the cats around him - it barely registered to Kestrelwing when another cat took up camp in the seat beside him. But then they started talking, and the tom lazily swung his head around, watching through expressionless yellow eyes. He patiently waited for them to finish speaking - why they were speaking to him in the first place he had not the slightest clue - before blinking absentmindedly. "Who are you?" he asked flatly, his tone implying that he either didn't hear what she had said, or simply didn't care. Which, for the RiverClan warrior, both could've been the truth. Rarely did anyone bother to socialize with him at these things anymore - he'd made it pretty clear he preferred his own space whenever possible.

Wow wow wow! They were finally here! Baypaw had a tendency to always go to bed super early--there was a reason they woke up so early with so much energy--which had been the cause of them missing the past... how many gatherings? Two or three at least. But now they'd finally stayed awake and they could actually go to one of these things! They had to admit, it was slightly frustrating thinking about how their siblings had been going all this time while they were snoring in their nest back home. But that was alright now that they were here!!

They'd been near the rear of the group as RiverClan had arrived, so by the time they'd explored the place for a while and chosen a spot to sit, there were already like a ton of cats there. So cool! They wanted to meet some fellow apprentices from the other clans! Bright yellow eyes scanning the strange cats, they picked out another apprentice and approached them. "Hello there!! I'm Baypaw!"

As the mute tom found a spot near the back of the gathering next to another warrior (even if they didnt want to talk company was nice) he hesitated before sitting on the cold snowy ground. Thunderclan was usually covered enough by the thick canopy for snow to not reach the forrest floor, preserving warmer sitting spots for the clan so having to sit here wasnt exactly preferable for the tom. Luckily he had a thick fluffy tail to use to brush away a clear patch before sitting down, finally turning to the other warrior next to him (now to hope he could interpret signing or read his lips). 'Hello!' a happy wave 'I'm' a double tap of a paw on his chest 'Gravehound!' his sign name of a hovering slash of a clawed paw over his throat and a wagged tail and barking motion like a dog. 'I'm' another double tap 'mute' his mouth opened silently with his tail pointed at it and his paw reached down to squeeze briefly over his neck 'however' a rolled paw 'I can' a double tap and a happy nod 'hear you.' a gesture up to his ears which flick and a point at the other tom. 'Who're you?' a cocked head and a point at Firesweep complete with a curious expression. As frustrating as it was to not being able to communicate easily Gravehound adored gatherings and the ability to meet and make friends with new cats.

"Within time I'm sure you will!" Featherbreeze said to Moonpaw. "But you also have to put in some effort." She added at the end. The molly wasn't too fond of hawks, she had heard many terrifying stories about them from the elders when she was younger, but she had never actually had an experience with a hawk.
"I've never actually seen a hawk with my own two eyes." Featherbreeze continued "But I have seen some stuff just as dangerous. Foxes... Those critters get on my last nerve." She'd encountered a fox once or twice, and neither of them was pleasant.

The large molly raise an eyebrow at the short response and unwillingness to to return even a bit of curtesy she'd shown and huffed an internal sigh, preparing to spend waste her night and turn her aching head into a migraine for the name of inter clan relations before she even responded. Honestly though she couldnt even be surprised at how the riverclan cat acted (the oily awful fishy scent of the water clan gave him away even with the more shadowclan type overtones of pine), the entire clan was filled with block headed blubber balls and when they weren't overpoweringly horrible cheerful and bubbly they were one dimensional overly confident peacocks. Sure her own clan was not at active war with them anymore but after an entire childhood of hostilities anger was not easily forgotten. "I am Adderfang, a warrior of shadowclan if that isnt immediately obvious. And who are you a young warrior or old apprentice because with your manners. But I can accept if you find my choice of topics boring perhaps so please, this time you choose." you overgrown whelp. Despite her irritation the mollys face and voice were steady and neutrally blank displaying only the slightest hint of being unimpressed.

Palewind grinned as he gazed around at the incoming flood of cats, his tail swishing behind him. Wow wow wow! What a crowd! It was his second gathering as a warrior, so the buzz of being new to the rank had pretty much worn off, but he was still justifiably excited. The tall lilac tom got up from his spot and trotted off to find a cat to talk to. And, bingo! There was a lonesome cat right over there! Trotting over to them, he grinned widely and mewed, "Hey there! I'm Palewind, what's up?" a quick wink followed after, and he took a seat next to them while he waited for an answer.

Well, hello there... he thought to himself.
Larkstripe recovered his decorum rather quickly and offered Beanpaw an amicable smile, tilting his head to the left a bit, “Well, good evening Beansomething. I’m Larkanything—“ He quipped, with a melodic little laugh, his heavily striped tabby features softened with endearment, “Larkstripe,” he clarified coolly, draping his banded tail over his paws, and dipping his elegant head in greeting.

Surveying the growing assembly, Firesweep smiles to himself, thinking how old and new friends are likely huddling closer than usual for the extra warmth. It's a sweet thought— and fleeting, as the bubble pops when he notices a cat gesturing to him.

Firesweep looks to his side to discover a large grey tom. The wave catches him off guard, never have been greeted with silent enthusiasm. He'd probably come to feel a tinge bad for it later, but Firesweep's face is rather unreadable as he watches the mute seemingly introduce himself, processing the warrior's communication. Gravehound's referral to the ear is what sets everything in place, and Firesweep feels his ears point back with uncharacteristic shyness.

"I'm Firesweep. Of RiverClan," he says calmly, so glad that he could catch on, however unfamiliar.

Moonpaw nodded in agreement. She was much too small - physically and mentally - to be promoted to a warrior in her current state. Even if she was, by some miracle, promoted now, she'd have no clue what to do as a warrior yet. "They're actually quite terrifying. It looked large, even with how far it was from us." A shudder passed through the molly's shoulders as she remembered the giant flap of wings and shrill cries. As much as she knew about certain animals, a fox wasn't one she'd heard of yet. "What's a fox? They sound sneaky."

It took every inch of will power for Kestrelwing to not get up, turn tail, and walk away from this annoyingly persistent molly. He observed her as she spoke, her edged tone already informing him that she must reside with ShadowClan. All of those shadow cats shaped up to be the same - edgy, cold, and determined to stir up trouble wherever they could. To Kestrelwing, it appeared that Adderfang might be no different. "...Well, I am a warrior, but this conversation is making me wish I was an apprentice confined to camp." There was some slight charm to his words this time, as he was beginning to see the appeal of making Adderfang his source of entertainment for the night. At the mention of choosing a topic, the RiverClan tom shook his head. "No, that's quite alright. You chose to sat down, so you pick the topics. Perhaps we could compare hunting techniques next?" Moonpaw couldn't ever imaging coming across a fox. They sounded scarier than those Syndicate warriors that she'd heard stories about. "I hope they don't roam around the moorlands. We already have hawks, we don't need foxes too." She was sure from the way Featherbreeze described them that they were quite the prey-stealers too. And those were the last thing any of the Clans needed in the dead of leaf-bare.

Shifting her gaze to the Seastones, Moonpaw flicked her ears in curiosity. Different smells had arisen around her now, and she watched as another large group flooded into the sandy clearing. Did you know this is my second Gathering? I bet no cat has ever been to two Gatherings except the leaders and the depuputies and the medicine cats and medicine cat apprentices!" The word "deputy" was still a bit hard, but she was getting better at it.

The golden-furred tom felt the breath knocked out of him as the molly appeared. There had been no collision, just... that name. He hadn't heard that name in such a long time, and frankly, even after seven moons, he wasn't ready to face it again. You fool, his mind hissed at him. I thought you were over that already. Apparently not.

"Hi, Ravenpaw; I'm Lionpaw," the apprentice greeted, barely missing the beat. "This is my fifth Gathering, actually." He quieted then, uncharacteristically so, mind occupied with memories of the past. Thank the Guardians that he'd never interacted with the Ravenpaw of ThunderClan. He didn't think that he'd be able to handle it.

// Panda1440

Talonstone stood at the edge of the crowd as he normally did; he had half the mind to leave before the announcements even began. The warrior had... more important things to do; things that, unlike listening to leaders chat, might balance life and death.

Yet, before he could move, some molly brushed past him. Really, it was inevitable due to the density of the felines present, but for whatever reason, the unintentional contact irritated him more than usual.

Within few swift paces, Talonstone blocked the windrunner's way with his larger form and glared frostily at her. "Do attempt to watch where you place your paws," the warrior warned deplorably.

But within all of the vast darkness, her one ray of light battled. Oh her dear Echopaw, her amazing daughter was still alive! The only reason the warrior kept going. Finding a nice spot near the sparkling moonlit water and the edge of the sea of cats, Stormlily sat and watched the crowd.

From where she sat, the WindClan apprentice observed the arriving group of cats. They seemed pretty upbeat for the most part, save for the chill that whipped around them and the sea spray from the ocean that battered their fur. "So that means that ShadowClan is the last to arrive." From the rumors that swirled around camp, Moonpaw couldn't say that she was surprised by this. While she wanted to give every cat the benefit of the doubt, she had a hard time trusting those not residing in WindClan - save for Featherbreeze, as it was apparent she could become a good friend of hers. Plus, the truce allowed for these kind of connections to form without risk of breaking the code. "Are they always this late?" Moonpaw questioned, still watching the entrance to see if she could spot the fourth Clan lurking in the Shadows, approaching slowly.

Springpaw tilted his head, emerald eyes comically wide, “Nasty? What do you mean?” He inquired. The naive and eccentric young cat had never had a negative thought about anyone in his young life, and was curious as to what the older apprentice meant.
It seemed this was going to be rather difficult. But it was probably better that he told him before he found out himself. Shadowclan think they're better than everyone else, and that they deserve our territory. That was really the main nasty. Windclan and Thunderclan are alright, although some of them aren't big fans of our clan for one reason or another. But it was mainly Shadowclan. They were the big problem in the forest.

Featherbreeze nodded. Shadowclan seemed like they were ones to keep everyone waiting, though she wasn't one to judge. Maybe they gathered their cats at the last minute? "Yes. And by the looks of it, the Gathering should be starting soon. I just hope nothing big has happened since the last one." She said calmly. She shifted her paws around the sand. Its grainy texture was strange, but something she had become accustomed to a long time ago. She looked around, many cats were talking. She didn't recognize half the cats at the gathering but that didn't bother her. There were hundreds of cats, she couldn't know all of them.

Rainywhisker follows Glidingfeather out to Seastones, copper eyes dull with sleepiness. He'd been aroused from a nap for this, so it better be worthwhile to sit through- Not that he only felt inclined to be present for the "worthwhile" gatherings. The stormy gray tabby glances towards Frostpaw as she beelined for Snakepaw, and he suppresses a disappointed sigh at her tone when she opens her mouth. She'd told him she hated him, and that was all well and fine. But it seemed that she had yet to get the memo about her delicate position right now.

Maybe she had something wrong in her head. If that were the case, he wouldn't continue to judge her. That would be shameful if it was something she couldn't help.

Nodding to the other medicine cats, he takes a seat and curls his tail around his paws. "Good evening," he says huskily to Ebonyfang. This one apparently held no regard for following his Clanmates, and kept appearing before the rest of them. He couldn't say he was a fan of such a thing, but somehow the arrogance made the tom somewhat more tolerable than the rest of ShadowClan were at present.

Rainywhisker still did not have much to say to the group. He preferred to take a more peaceful approach, though the question sat in his mind of what he should do as acting medicine cat to his Clan. Coldamber seemed knowledgeable, but she was involved with the RiverClanners now. He regards her quietly, seemingly waiting for a more opportune moment to say anything.

How could the Gathering start without all the Clans there, though? Moonpaw blinked, watching Featherbreeze as she spoke. Perhaps that was just something that happened - if a Clan was late, the Gathering's started without them. He refused to believe this molly a fool, but her choice of conversation starter was lacking. "What do you want me to say? That we kill the kittens who seem weak? Sedgestorm sat huddled, wondering if he should find one of the larger groups and pretend to be talking with them when a terribly familiar molly sat next to him. Admittedly, if he was cold, being at the edge of the crowd and by the water probably wasn't the greatest idea.
He was brought out of his thoughts as he looked over his life long friend, guilt tugging at him as he realized that she was all alone in an unwelcoming environment.
For a while he wondered if he should speak up and tell her about everything that had happened, only the parts about himself, he wouldn't put Flamebriar and Mossygrove in danger. Was he putting Stormlily in danger if he told her?
He himself wasn't of intrest to Dawnstar, but what if the malicious cat connected the dots between him and the others? Dawnstar was dead set on finding and killing her sister and he doubted she was above torture if it came down to it.

But.... Stormlily seemed troubled, miserable. She needed someone to reach out to her.
With a sigh, Sedgestorm sat up and leaned closer to Stromlily.

Realizing this, she turned to look at Featherbreeze. The RiverClan warrior had first approached her with no hesitation, perfectly content that she was a WindClan apprentice. Brief gratitude circled around her heart. Normally, she was cautious of outsiders - the Gatherings being the exception as the truce as upheld - but something about Featherbreeze had been comforting from the start.

Seriously? Was he ever going to get some time alone? Tail lashing, Ashenpaw turned his sharp gaze to brightpaw. And, even worse, she was from Thunderclan. Sure, no clan was as bad as Windclan, but in his opinion Thunderclan came in a close second. Actually, all the other clans were pretty bad, and he didn't see the need for any except for Shadowclan. No matter what she had to say, he decided to simply ignore her and turn his head away. If he responded, she would just stay longer and annoy him more, and he really didn't care for that.

"My apologies. You are.." The chocolate tabby attempts the clawed slash motion paired with a tail whip. "Could you say it again?"

"I'm certain I've seen your curled ears before." How impressionable.

Gravehound was a little tense as the other tom didn't respond for a bit, just sat back quietly with a blank expression, but relaxed as he responded nicely. Repeating himself was easy enough, while he didnt do it often he did have extended signs for his normal ones, not using them often because it took so long, but they were useful for when someone didnt understand him. Giving another small wave at the other cat telling him his name (Firesweep was a nice name too) he nodded at the ask to repeat it.

Lifting up a paw he curled his toes in leaving two up signifying the two parts before curling one back in again 'First part' the extended sign of 'Grave' was almost silly, the throat slashing motion again before with a swoon and a flop Gravehound played dead complete with a last leg twitch before he stood again and put up two toes for the 'second part'. 'Hound' was also a bit silly with the mute tom wagging his tail like a dog and letting out one of the few sounds he could manage, a sort of bark made only from a fast exhale of breath from his lungs. 'Im from Thunderclan.' a double tap on his chest and a point up at Buckstar on the seastone to indicate his origins.

For once, even though she could've gone before, Primrosepaw for the first time attended a gathering. Quite unintentionally, to be honest, she simply followed the loud group of cats that left camp only to find herself within an even louder group of cats! And all with strange scents - yuck.
The tiny apprentice wandered between the mingling groups, undeniably bumping into more than one cat on her way. She'd likely gotten a few snappy remarks because of that here and there, though her mind was mostly taken up by trying to make sense of all the different voices - in other words, to busy to notice. The more she walked there though, the more uncomfortable Primrosepaw started to feel. She wasn't used to so many voices, to so many different sounds - they all just pilled up and pilled up non-stop, and soon the calico was flattening her ears in an attempt to drown the sounds out, which wasn't working. There were still so many, and it was hard to make sense out of all of them - to hard.

------

Another sleep-stealing gathering. Gingerfrost never enjoyed attending these things, they were loud and prived him of well needed sleep, and yet he still joined for the simple sake of being at least a little aware of the other clans. Out of habit, he headed straight to sit within the area he appeared to always go to during gatherings, even though it was one rather surrounded by others. Perhaps that was his way of remembering his old mentor, just like the nest the young warrior left untouched in the nursery for his mother and sister.
Gingerfrost ploffed down and inwardly sighed as he glanced up at the leaders who hadn't started their announcements yet - there was still some time. He didn't bother looking presentable or anything, he simply decided to lay right there until the actual gathering would start.

[ Open! ]

------

It had possibly been a little while since Nightshiver last attended a gathering- certain things wouldn't allow her to, she wouldn't have managed- yet now it seemed she was somewhat ready to be among the mass amount of other cats once more. Well, 'ready' was an overstatement, she never was and never would be ready for such thing, but she couldn't not come to gatherings forever. The white furred molly stepped lightly past some other-clanners, making her way to the sides where it was calmer, and there she sat. Instinctively, her eyes lifted to gaze at the full moon, mind blocking out the unnecessary sounds around her until the sight of the clan leaders came to view. She'd almost forgotten how loud it could be, though the feelings of being surrounded by so many never changed.

[ Open! ]

------

A gathering, and hopefully she would be a warrior by the next. Hailpaw gracefully stepped among to others and quickly found herself a suitable place to sit, and watch the gathering. She had no interest in even trying to converse with another, something she had long given up on as stated before, though might be forced to out of courtesy if they approached her. Although, she likely wouldn't have to worry about that as it seemed to never happen anyway, most cats appeared to prefer glancing her direction from a distance at most. A bit rude in her opinion, if she had to be honest, bit who could blame them. The silver molly exhaled and turned to concentrate on what would be announced - it was what really mattered, if asked her.

[ Open! ]

------

Her second gathering! Although still excited, Flamepaw was a lot less sure as she limped into the crowd and sat down. She still felt ashamed sometimes for the burn scars that were still clearly visible, although often told she shouldn't. But nonetheless it wasn't what would stop her from being interested in all the new faces and scents - she hadn't actually seen the borders before so most of the other clan's scents were still unfamiliar to her.

Larkstripe’s eyes widened a bit, and he turned to face the newcomer, his sea green eyes almost illuminated in the nebulous evening atmosphere. They widened further when his gaze fell upon the rather endearing...and rather handsome newcomer.
Well, hello there... he thought to himself.
Larkstripe recovered his decorum rather quickly and offered Beanpaw an amicable smile, tilting his head to the left a bit, “Well, good evening Beansomething. “Please don’t worry about it, I’ve already had an excited young apprentice nearly take my front legs out tonight, so a polite nudge is the least of my concerns, friend.” He replied, waving a white paw in dismissal. The half-Clan warrior raised a brow in interest.

"Well I’m sure glad I didn’t run you over a second time then," he chuckled, trying to make his stomach stop doing the weird thing. Oh, hey! Friend!! Nice! "At this point, I spend a lot of time in the apprentice’s den. I, I’m not surprised I haven’t seen you. Brr, it’s been cold," He kinda rambled, his blue gaze flickering from the cat to the sand beneath him.

Featherbreeze still wanted to talk to more cats, mainly the ones who seemed like they felt out of place. The next cat she spotted was Flamepaw. The Thunderclan apprentice was sitting alone. "Hi!" The Riverclan warriors said padding over. "I'm Featherbreeze from Riverclan! Who are you?"

Flamepaw was a bit startled to suddenly hear a voice, and she glanced around her before establishing that the she was indeed addressing her, and not someone else "oh- h-hi!" Flamepaw quickly fumbled out some words in greeting, shifting her position as such to hide her bad leg as best as she could "um.. I-I'm Flamepaw, from ThenderClan" the young apprentice quickly answered upon the RiverClanners question "nice to meet you,"

Featherbreeze smiled. The Thunderclan apprentice seemed shy, so in an attempt to get her to open up she started with some small questions. "How many gatherings have you been to?" This was a question she had been asked before at a gathering, but she didn't know how normal it was for smalltalk. That didn't matter though. Conversation was conversation.

The tabby cat padded hesitantly to the gathering. There weren't any birds there, were there? He figured the horde of cats would scare away the gulls and things but... then again, birds weren’t supposed to deliberately attack cats. He had to keep a wary eye out for the evil winged creatures. He crept to an open spot near the middle (if the birds attacked, they’d go for lone cats on the fringes!), watching both the dark night sky and the leaders before him.

Gullpaw glanced around, looking for shelter under the trees, further from the water. The gulls circled in the open, especially near water, once she found an apprentice nearby in the sidelines she slid over and dipped her head silently glancing up regularly to check for birds giving an occasional flinch when she heard an owl hoot in the distance before muttering,” the chances a bird will peck you to death are slim” it was more a comment to herself than anything else.

This earned a snort from the generally stiff cat (this headache must be ruining her normal level) "We'll it'd fit, you're reminding me of my own apprentice to a striking degree right now. Tell me are you sure you dont have shadowclan blood because with your attitude you may be a long lost relative." She drawled low and level before twitching her whiskers in irritation "If you wish to sit and sulk doing nothing productive or potentially enjoyable with your one night of peace then leave, I'm looking to have a conversation about the little interesting topic of how little hostility our shared border has seen since our leadership changed. I'd never thought it'd occur but Im curious on a riverclan cats take on the fact. Still if you dont wish to talk theres little I can do (or would want to do) to stop you from walking away." The large warrior really did want to talk on the topic given Adderfangs habit of camping overnight on the border to watch for intruders and how she'd not felt the need to do it in almost a moon, but if he left he may take her headache with him. And that alone made her uncaring of which he'd choose.

Larkstripe allowed himself a soft chuckle of amusement. This cat appeared old enough to be a warrior, and the ginger tom concluded that he must be on the cusp of his warrior ceremony.
“Ugh, I know,” he ruffled his ornate pelt against the cold, but his short, slick fur did little to protect him against the brisk air, “Half WindClan and half RiverClan...there isn’t a long hair on my pelt. I am not built for the cold...new-leaf cannot come soon enough.” He complained lightly, shaking his head a bit.
He offered Beanpaw a gamesome smile, “So, what’ll you wager will be the main cataclysmic event of the night, hm? Frostpaw makes a scene? Dawnstar threatens everyone’s life?” He joked, keeping his voice low and his tone light.

Silverpaw wandered through the cats until she spotted the cat, her ears flat, looking overwhelmed.
she made her way over to her until she was right beside her and mewed, ¨is this your first gathering?¨
she then sat down and waited for an answer, not looking away from the cat.

His nosy nature drew him forward and soon the smoky warrior was weaving through the last group of cats to reach the now sitting stranger.

“Hiding from someone?”

A friendly smile settled on Eelsting’s face to put the younger stranger at ease. The teasing was meant to be friendly rather than rude so he didn’t want the kid getting the wrong idea and being offended. Plus, he looked worried about something so he could probably use some friendliness.

// Estelle - for Primrosepaw

With a repressed sigh-growl of irritation, Lionpaw drew away from the two hyper apprentices. They would likely be too oblivious to notice his leave, the golden-furred feline bet. He wandered around for some time, surprised that the announcements hadn't started yet, and found himself watching a young molly flattening his ears.

Not again, the thundercat thought to himself. Nearly each time he attended a Gathering, at least one feline displayed some sort of nervousness to his face.

Dismissing his previous aggravation, Lionpaw walked up to the apprentice with an easy grin on his maw. "Hey..." he greeted gently. "Are you alright?"

------
heya!

He has a tendency to relax his face when it's time to concentrate! Firesweep studies the mute cat's motions with earnest curiosity and effort, observant and focused on potentially recalling a name from old gossip or something. The RiverClan warrior mouths the two-part name with Gravehound, and it clicks relatively quick.

"Gravehound. Of ThunderClan," he ends up meowing, much like his own introduction moments ago.

"A real pleasure to meet you - I appreciate your patience with me, haha." Firesweep's voice nears a purr with authenticity. As Shadowclan flows in, the tall warrior takes a second to survey the area. "Seems I chose a good spot to sit at today. Are you a fan of Gatherings? Sometimes I worry I'll zone out at the wrong times or get too interested in the conversations around me."

"Hi!" the apprentice chirped happily. "Well, only for like two moons..." He left out that his ceremony had been delayed, it wasn't important. "How long have you been a warrior? Are you old? You don't look old!" Gathering's were amazing! "I wish I could say the same about Lionstupid," he muttered. This cat seems so awesome! He thought excitedly. His gaze turned to the humongous rock. Lionstupid? Was he talking about Lionstorm? Wolffang had thought that every cat in RiverClan liked him. Well, there did seem to be something off about the golden tabby, at least in his eyes. He wouldn’t have wanted the retired leader as his... well, leader. “I’ve been a warrior for several moons now,” was all he meowed. “No. I’m quite young, actually.” He noticed the tom’s gaze drifting to the rocks where the leaders sat. ”You want to be leader someday?” he asked halfheartedly.
Was.....this cat IGNORING her? Brightpaw was NOT going to be ok with that, and so she redoubled her efforts to get Ashenpaw's attention, going so far as to poke his behind gently with her paw. Hello! I know you're awake! You can talk, can't you? You aren't........not able to talk? She knew there was a word for that, she just didn't remember it. Which was ok, because it hadn't sounded like a nice word the one time she'd heard it. So she promptly forgot it. Selective memory had advantages for sure. Continuing her assault on his sanity, she put her mouth in his ear, in case he could only hear loud noises, and mewed Can you at least tell me your name? And tell me you're alright? Cause right now I'm not so sure.

Morningpaw quietly padded to the seastones, falling a bit behind from the rest of her clanmates. Her head was ducked, and she was trying not to draw too much attention to herself. Of course, it wasn't exactly easy for her to do that, thanks to her numerous (very visible) deformities. It looked like she was just getting back from a battle, as several large patches of fur were missing. It wasn't a wound or anything, it was a permanent thing for her. She had long gotten used to the feeling of the cold air directly on her exposed flesh, with no fur to block it. It felt... strange, to be honest. She was mostly covered in fur, and when she fluffed it out to stay warm there were just random cold spots, when the rest of her body wasnt cold. Yes, she was only six moons, but she was adaptive. She could adjust to new things relatively easily, and she was grateful for that skill.

As the deformed she-cat pushed through the bushes surrounding the seastones, she felt her breath hitch. There... were so many cats. Oh, she didnt know if she would be able to do this. Her already ragged breathing started to speed up even more as her panicked eyes flitted from cat to cat, uncertainty lacing her features. There seemed to be cats everywhere, and she didnt know what to do. Making up her mind, the apprentice ducked her head yet again and hurriedly pushed through the crowd, aiming for the small beach on the outskirts of the clearing. The were little to no cats there, so she was hopeful that she would be able to breath properly, without the feeling of being trapped. Letting out a wheeze-like sigh, she sunk onto the soft sand and rested her head against the ground.

Burrface, having arrived with Riverclan just moments before, rested while the rest of the cats filed in. She didn't mind gatherings, seeing as they were always full of young, vibrant life. Besides, getting away from the muddy and dreary scenery of Riverclan's territory this time of year was much welcomed.

Burrface had spotted a clearing that was not yet packed, and decided to move over before the crowd became overwhelming. She noticed a small cat a few paces to her right have the same idea. Putting a little more urgency in her step (she had to get the drier spot!) she hurried onto the sandy patch. Satisfied with the grainy seating she had chosen, Burrface settled onto her haunches with a relieved exhale. However, she felt a bit awkward, knowing that the small cat she had spotted earlier had chosen a spot not far from her own. It would be uncomfortable to ignore her, especially because of the nervous energy practically emanating from the little feline's body.

Burrface cleared her throat and stole a glance at the unfamiliar cat. She was many moons her junior, but seemed quite young to be attending a gathering in general. However, the age of the cat was not the most remarkable- it's patchy, mangy-looking fur was quite startling to behold. Burrface was overwhelmed with pity, and couldn't help but stare.

Eyes flashing with brief curiosity, Kestrelwing kept his composure throughout the comparison to her apprentice, merely flicking his ears at the comment like he was shooing away a gnat. It didn't bother him as much as he assumed she'd think it would - though, nothing really truly bothered the RiverClan tom anymore. "Who knows? My father was a traitor and may have shacked up with a desperate ShadowClan queen. I may even have some littermates skipping about in that dark abyss you call home." He didn't expect her to get the quip about his father - only RiverClan really knew his fully backstory - so instead he carried on over it. "As for the borders, Sootstar rarely assigns me to patrols these days so I haven't seen much. Though, I must say I do agree with Dawnstar's decided direction with ShadowClan. Much more aggressive and strong. It's no surprise your borders have stayed relatively quiet. I even heard a rumor that she's using lazy warriors as an example?" Gossip spread fast among the Clans, and he'd overhead a few apprentices chirping like starlings upon first arriving about the turmoil and restructuring that appeared to be happening in ShadowClan.

Copperpaw walked to the Gathering, sulking. He didn't want to go, for the prospect of meeting cats from other Clans. He didn't want to see any other cats. Other cats were sucky. And they didn't like fish. In his opinion, fish was the best thing ever. Stop obsessing over fish and get on with the stupid Gathering. Copper moaned and kept strolling in, and then - wow. Wow.

He'd seen a pale, battle-scarred apprentice who was really.. cute. Yeah. He hated to admit it, but yeah. He quickly made his way over to the other apprentice, hoping his cheeks weren't on fire. "Hey."

And then it happened again.

Copperpaw shoved his head to the ground and panted. There's too many cats. There was no space he couldn't he - HE COULDN'T MOVE. He couldn't breathe. The copper cat took in five deep breaths, but nothing helped. Nothing. More? He breathed more. Something was wrong. What was wrong? Copperpaw began to cough and shudder uncontrollably, then moved out of the way from Buzzardpaw. "Um, sorry. Leaving. Leaving right now."

Flamepaw shrugged lightly "I suppose so. I haven't heard of any disasters happening, at least" the apprentice fluffed up her fur against the cold, when suddenly a thought hit her "Has RiverClan ever been chased by the Flame-Monsters?" It seemed unlikely, considering how humid it probably was there, but maybe.

Featherbreeze didn't know, at least she didn't think so. "Not that I know of..." The molly admitted. "I don't pay attention to what's going on around me sometimes, it's one of my greatest weaknesses." She joked. "And has your clan seen any of these 'fire-monsters?' "

Flamepaw was astonished "how can you not know when a Flame-Monster attacks!" she suddenly exclaimed, quickly making herself small as she realised the loudness of her voice and rudeness of interruption. She tilted her head at the question "not lately," she admitted, more quiet now "but they did destroy our camp seven moons ago! The warriors say they set everything on fire-" Although she didn't have much memory of it, Flamepaw knew exactly when it all happened - it had been the day she born, after all. And now she was convinced some creature chased them and put their camps on fire.

"Well you said you were seven moons old and that the fire was seven moons ago. I'm just pretty good at assuming things." Featherbreeze explained to the apprentice. She didn't actually know it was on the apprentice's day of birth, it was more of a joke than a fact she had said. The chances she had gotten it right were low but the impossible can happen.

Russetcroak padded into the clearing, the young warrior curious as he padded into his first Gathering as a Warrior. The last Gathering, he had just become a new warrior and had been forced to stay at camp to have his silent vigil, which was totally NOT FUN, and he did NOT like that he had to miss his that Gathering.. but whatever, he had gotten to one anyways. Looking over the clearing in curiosity, the tom padded to a spot inside the crowd and just sat down, grunting as a sour taste in his mouth caused him to swallow in annoyance. Stupid throat.. always giving him this sour icky stuff in the back of his throat. At least it had mild down a lil bit for the Gathering, and it wasn't as bad as it usually was.

Anyways... He was basically just sitting in the clearing, looking around at the cats around him in curiosity, flicking his tail around him in a curious manner.

Seedheart was late behind her clanmates. She had gotten distracted and just now realized they had left. The three legged silver tabby guardian found a spot near the middle of the crowd and plopped herself down. At least she wasn't as late as Thunderclan and Shadowclan. She wondered where those two clans were. Shadowclan was always late, so she was used to that, but Thunderclan? Did something happen.

Each of the other clans filed through in turn though, interestingly enough, seemingly all three led by their deputies. He couldn't help but find humor in the contrast, with no deputy to be found beneath him while the three other clans had their deputy spots filled and leaders yet to take their places.

Boredom was beginning to set in and he leaned forward to address the three, "Did I miss a memo here?" He mused, referring to the blatantly empty space around him.

It had become so chilly, Breezefeather hadn't fully acknowledged the other deputies presence and it was first when Sootstar spoke to them that the Windclan's deputy's eyes left the ground at which he'd been staring at for far too long. Gazing up at the leader he was indeed shocked to see that it was just them, the three deputies and then Sootstar who were present... "Guess you didn't get the memo that leaders were supposed to be late and leave all of us deputies to freeze our ears off while ya all took your time, yeah if that's what you intended with your words." He didn't mind the gatherings but... he did kind of mind them with it was spent in dull company.

"How is one expected to stay warm when one got stoic arrogant shadowfart to the left and shiny head to the right? I don't think either of them provides much warmth especially in this cold and they don't seem entirely content either." He couldn't avoid the glance at the two other deputies at the mild joking insults he threw their way. If they took them to heart... then that fault lay with them.

He offered Beanpaw a gamesome smile, “So, what’ll you wager will be the main cataclysmic event of the night, hm? Frostpaw makes a scene? Dawnstar threatens everyone’s life?” He joked, keeping his voice low and his tone light.

Dawnstar yawned, her huge paw prints devoured the smaller ones left in the sand by the other clans. Her disturbing amber eyes glowed gold as her muscles shifted smoothly underneath her dark pelt. It was still freezing here, the lack of trees and cover would have bothered her if she was so used to this gathering spot. The water though, she could feel it sprinkling on her pelt as she leaped up onto the stones. Not that she was going to bring it up, right this second, but had the clans ever thought about changing the meeting spot somewhere less irritating. Flexing her claws, they tapped lightly against the stone.

The molly caught the end tail of what the Minnow was whining about as she arrived. It was difficult to not smile like the cat who caught the canary, it sucked knowing something everyone else was oblivious about and not being able to gloat. She could have her fun after the Gathering.

"Don't get your tail in a twist." Dawnstar's tongue swiped over her maw, double-checking that she was clean. "I'm here, and although I've no clue where the ThunderClan leader is, I did run into your leader." Her mischievous amber gaze landed on the WindClan deputy.

"The rabbit had to head back home, so WindClan will not be speaking this Gathering." She informed the other high ranks, Dawnstar could care less about the questions that might bring up, it wasn't like she had to answer to anyone here.

"I've nothing to share about ShadowClan this moon, so you," she jerked her nose in the fishy leader's direction, "and the ThunderClan leader are the only ones that need to speak." Done with her chatter, she sat done with her back straight and a half-smile on her maw.

This was taking... Unusually long. Usually there would have been at least one announcement done by now, and yet only one out of the four leaders was present. How strange. From where she sat, unapproached by anyone per usual, the silver apprentice glanced over the crowd of cats right when her thought process got interrupted by the arrival- the ShadowClan leader. How pleasant. But soon followed the leader of Thunder - they were three out of four now. Discreetly, Hailpaw sigh as she started to get the feeling the gathering would be longer than usual. Russetpaw slinked through the crowd, wrinkling his maw at the cats around him in distaste. Why did there have to be so many cats together? It seemed like a bad idea, a recipe for disaster. What mousebrain came up with the idea of gathering a bunch of mousebrains together and then telling them a bunch of mousebrained things? He snarled as a younger RiverClan apprentice bumped into him and turned away, settling at the edge of the clearing. "Fish breath." He muttered to himself and peered up at the leaders with narrowed eyes. Maybe Foxpaw would be here. That would make everything a lot better.

.............

Hazepaw stood at the edge of the crowd, her large body fluffed up even bigger with red fur. She'd never seen so many cats in one place before. The former outsider looked around with wide eyes before catching herself and settling down a bit grumpily. No need to give the impression of being a wide-eyed kittypet. She edged forward a little bit. Maybe the gruff she-cat would be able to make some connections with other cats. That seemed like a good way to succeed in clan life.

"At least you kinda got some cool, what are they called... ori...jens? origins?? I’m just from the tow— twolegplace. Came over when I was a kit, because—" Oh. Oh. Was he oversharing? Then again, Larkstripe seemed to have no issue letting him know. At the very least, he could offer some transparency. "They uh, the twolegs... I ran away because they took. My claws. A whispering voice reached his ear, echoing his inner fears. The tabby’s breathing quickened and he turned to see a WindClan cat beside him. His ears flattened, and he spoke. "Who are you t-talking to? I’m not afraid of some stupid birds..." He reaffirmed to himself and to the other cat. He wasn’t. He wasn’t. He wasn’t afraid. Nope nope nope.

Another voice made him jump — again. This time though, it seemed friendly. Not... creepy. "I... no, I guess not. Just habit, I think. Uh, I’m Buzzardpaw" He introduced, sparing a single glance above before fixing his green eye on the... RiverClan (he thought?? maybe??) cat before him. At least this cat seemed willing to talk. Unlike the other WindClaner who... maybe they were still there. He wasn’t sure. But as long as they didn’t start being creepy and somehow speaking their fears— well, it wasn’t a fear because he wasn’t afraid. He definitely wasn’t afraid. No fear. Ever.

Another cat! Was he popular or something?? Did he have a big "come here!" sign on him or something? "Hello— oh. What are— are you—?" As the cat did a... a weird thing, Buzzardpaw could only watch with intrigue and maybe some fear. This was weird. This was odd. Did this cat need some help, or...? Oh? "Uh, are you okay—? Oh. It seemed all the others needed to show up was some mild insults thrown their way? Breezefeather wasn't entirely so sure on it but he didn't bother lingering on how long it took the leaders to show up. Not like they had deputies that were slowly freezing, not at all. The interesting news were though that Twilightstar was not showing up and that the Shadowclan leader made the decision that Windclan would not speak at this gathering. Truth be, there were no important news to share with the other clans, seeing no ceremonies had been performed and their clan was doing a whole lot better in the middle of leafbare than they had at the beginning.

But it was how arrogant the leader just said it that had the smaller Windclan deputy narrow his eyes at the dark furred leader. He was not a too big fan of how she seemed she could just get her way with whatever it was she was wanting to do but... he knew he had to do his to uphold this temporary appearance of an armistice between the two clans. The Thunderclan leader's apologies didn't matter much, the deputy didn't at this moment had the best view of their supposed allies... but things would wait until later. For now, he would stay and lead the clan back, for all that he wanted to head back to the moors, he couldn't take away from his clan the need to socialize with the others, and therefore he would stay... and who knew what news Thunderclan and Riverclan had to share.

"No fun's to be had here, but you deal fine with the merry old company you got up there. Just don't be an elder and drag this out until sunrise?" the reply was directed at Sootstar who Breezefeather, based on this short interaction, was already liking better than the other two leaders.

Larkstripe’s lighthearted charm seemed to evaporate as Beanpaw displayed his maimed paws and recounted his story. The ginger warrior flattened his ears, eyes widened in dismay.
“How dare they?!” He exclaimed quietly, appalled. His sea-green gaze was brimming with sympathy and righteous anger, his tail lashing against the sand. This young cat had been all but mutilated.
“Loathsome, violent creatures...” He hissed, shaking his head in dismay, “The world would be better off without them. It must’ve been so painful...I’m so sorry you were subjected to such cruelty.” He said, voice softening. There was something about the idea of Twolegs ripping away a young cat’s primary means of defense that turned the elegant warrior’s stomach. He sighed heavily, his sensibilities deeply offended by the idea.
“You have clearly adapted...and you must be a rather enduring and determined cat, and for that I must commend you,” he paused, contemplating, “I have a few fishing and hunting techniques that don’t really require unsheathed claws. My brother...he’s one of the best warriors in WindClan—“ he lowered his voice, for he knew his next statement was contentious, “he’s shown me some of what he knows. You’re perfectly capable, I know, and please do not confuse my offer to be patronizing, I just—“ he trailed off. He certainly didn’t want Beanpaw to think he was being patronizing by any means, but he felt compelled to offer any help that would be accepted.
“I...have been violence averse my whole life. There’s something about seriously wounding other cats...no matter where they’re from, that deeply unsettles me.” Larkstripe paused. He had never voiced this aloud—he knew it made him a sorry warrior, and kept his voice reduced.
“So I have...developed ways to evade them without slicing them open.”

Okay. He was okay now. It stopped. Was Buzzardpaw fine now? Did he.. not need to talk to Copperpaw anymore? Like he had more friends now? Maybe I should go back over there. Copperpaw looked at the two cats socializing with Buzzardpaw, a creepy Wind, and Eelsting. No, I should DEFINITELY not go over there. This was so weird, honestly. Why was he even talking.. ugh. Just stay away.

But his paws seemed to have a mind of their own, carrying him over to the three cats. He vowed not to make a mess of himself, promised not to trip of his paws. "Um.. sorry. I'm fine now," he meowed awkwardly, feeling the mood shift between them. "My name is Copperpaw. I like Buzzardpaw. It's dead cool." As he gazed closer at the Shadow in front of him, he noticed one very! Important! Detail! "Wow, you don't have an eye!" Copperpaw exclaimed quickly. "That's so battle-hardened and tough! How'd it happen?" He gave Buzzardpaw a soft smile. "You don't have to tell me if you don't want to. I understand that memories can be painful."

This new cat was so interesting. Granted, there were a lot of new faces in the Clan[how did he miss them??], but it was also thrilling to meet a cat in a different Clan. Especially a Shadow. Shadows were so intriguing, their life-style was so different from Rivers. And they never got to spend time with Shadows. The RiverClan leaders were all "no we hate shadows" but "lets party with winds!" It was so unfair.

Beanpaw
________

His paw was still held up in the air as Larkstripe’s emotions hit him. The sympathy and fury in the cat’s eyes was impossible to miss. As he lowered his foreleg and flattened his ears, feeling a lump gathering in his throat, Beanpaw turned his head to face the warrior. He couldn’t express how grateful he was. Especially, now, since he was all flustered and emotional. But that wouldn’t stop the young cat from trying. "I— thank you for— for not, you know, calling me.." he tried to clear his throat. "Y’know, some cats say I— I can’t be?? A warrior? because I don’t—" Stars stars, he needed to pull himself together. No matter how desperately he wanted to hug this cat, they had just met.

As he tried to regain his composure, Larky started to speak again, which he was very grateful for. He sniffled a little bit, and tried to take a few deep breaths. That was what he did when his emotions got the better of him, which, admittedly, they did quite a few times. As he breathed in and out, feeling himself shake off his emotions a little bit, he registered what the older cat had said. "You— you do?? Oh, stars, fish! Are so hard to catch. I mean, I had to catch a few for my assessment and I..." He trailed off, chuckling with both relief, nerves, and because his little tale was kind of funny. "I kiiiinda accidentally fell in the river. Uh, yeah. Fish are slippery." He felt a little bit of guilt for interjecting his story in a serious moment, and he felt his face flush with embarrassment. The siamese felt as if he were experienceing his entire range of emotions, for Star’s sake!

That was when the other cat’s voice quieted and he felt serious again. This was heavy, he could feel it. Oh... aww. "That’s nothing to be ashamed of. I mean, killing and hurting cats feels... odd? Like something I wouldn’t do even if I could. Unless they were trying to kill me or something... maybe that would be different. But, I would really appreciate that. Honestly. It means... a lot." After that (surprisingly smooth!) dialogue, Beanpaw smiled a little bit and leaned up against Larkstripe unconsciously, ever so slightly. It was comforting and nice to be with a cat who seemed to accept him and who was... just, kind. And interesting!

Larkstripe’s comely features softened, his ears relaxed, fiery pelt ruffled against the cold, “Oh, don’t worry. I think everyone has taken an impromptu dive at some point—I know I have.” The elegant tom pointed out, with a melodic laugh, “Perhaps tomorrow, we can go fishing. I believe one should always work smarter, not harder, and I can tell you’re a clever cat. I’d be happy to show you some path-of-least-resistance fishing methods. It helps that they’re fun, too—you can impress your friends with your witty new fishing tricks!” Larkstripe sighed softly, pelt growing warm as he realized he was rambling a bit. He glanced at Beanpaw fondly, a new degree of warmth manifesting in his jewel toned eyes. Typically a reserved introvert, he marveled briefly at how quickly he had felt completely comfortable around his new friend.
Larkstripe felt a fuzzy heat swell in his chest at Beanpaw’s closeness, and subconsciously allowed his tail to drape across his.
“I am glad you see it that way...not everyone does. I’ve never been as proud as my compatriots who revel in the thrill of battle, it just...doesn’t excite me the way it does my brother, for example. I much prefer fishing and watching the sandpipers run to and from the tide.” He confessed, with a subtle laugh, as if chiding himself.

Honestly, they felt kind of detached lately. The medicine cats were doing their own thing, Snakepaw was being... Snakepaw, Frostpaw was being herself. They didn’t hardly know anything about Rainywhisker besides his name, Ebonyfang was pretty closed off (at least, they thought), and Sparrowskip seemed like the nicest out of the gang. Besides Coldamber.

It seemed this was about to be a long night. And they didn’t dare look out into the crowd for fear of being overwhelmed by all the colors. Even looking at the small group was tiring, especially in the dark.

Lightpaw was at his first gathering and he didn't like it. He had very sensitive ears and noise was one of his least favorite thing. Great, I have to deal with my own clan of morons and it looks like the other clans are no different. He felt like crying and lashing out because he felt cornered among all the cats. It's not like they understood him so why did he have to deal with them.

The siamese laughed along with Larkstripe, relief creeping into his lighthearted voice. He could hardly imagine the elegant cat taking a dove into the river, and yet, it seemed a it was a rite of passage. Every RiverClan cat has to fall in the river sometime. It was just an occupational hazard. He ducked his head in response to the compliments, feeling slightly flustered and licking his chest fur to regain his composure. It sure seemed like he was doing that a lot for one gathering.

"I’ll be sure to show all... two of my friends these new fishing tricks. Ans hopefully, this time, without taking an... impomptru dive? I hope. Especially not in the middle of winter. Brr, that would be cold!" As he spoke, he felt a tail touch his own. But he didn’t fully register it until he had finished his thoughts. Tail. Tail. That wasn’t his tail. Oh!! Oh!!!! He fidgeted a little bit, trying to get the sudden energy out of him. But trying not to make the cat move his tail. Despite knowing this cat for a short while, he enjoyed the closeness they shared, and was certain that they’d be great friends! This is what friends did, right? Yeah..!

"Fighting never really appealed to me, I guess. I’ve... never really thought about it. The only 'real' fight I’v even in was the training against a WindClan apprentice! And it was less fighting and more... complimenting? He was cute, and he called me cute. But I don’t think that’s gonna happen against ShadowClan or anyone."

Larkstripe couldn’t help but grin rather hopelessly—Beanpaw’s laughter was perhaps the most pleasant thing he’d heard in a while. And again—that peculiar feeling of comfort, what was that about? Larkstripe felt as if he had known this cat for quite sometime...if often struggled to feel natural around his clanmates, why was his interaction so wonderfully unique?
“Oh come now, no need to be modest...you’re quite the charmer, I sincerely doubt you have two friends,” Larkstripe quipped, raising a brow in playful suspicion. However, it was the young cat’s last comment that trapped Larkstripe’s breath in his throat. The elegant warrior’s jewel-toned eyes went a bit wide.
He was cute.
Larkstripe has barely realized he had been all but flirting with Beanpaw, it felt so natural...was there a chance? And even if so, would Beanpaw even be remotely interested in a peculiar warrior like Larkstripe?
Larkstripe has pined in silence for most of his life, and with a real chance to connect romantically in front of him, anxiety blossomed in his chest. His affinity for toms was perhaps his greatest insecurity, yet romance...a need he had neglected for so long.
Larkstripe’s pelt grew hot, and his debonair aura was quickly replaced with almost goofy self-conscious, the tips of his ears reddened.
“Well, I suppose that is fortunate...I might participate a bit more avidly in battle if that were a standard experience.” He joked lightly—his words were witty, but his crooked smile and the nervous panic behind his eyes were a sharp contrast.

Beanpaw
________

As the interaction went on, he felt his initial panic and awkwardness slip away. It was as if he was falling into a comforting familiarity, talking with someone who he could trust. A friend, a companion. Someone other than Dayheart to talk to! Though he and Dayheart had a different kind of friendship than this one, they were both amazing.

He felt heat rise to his face at the compliment, and ducked his head once more. Quite the charmer, eh? He nearly giggled, but held it in. What had prompted the sudden almost-outburst laughter, he wasn’t sure. But he’d push that to the side for later. "I don’t know if I’d call myself a charmer. More like... a sleeper? Especially in the winter. I feel like... like...? What are those big fuzzy animals that sleep in those caves all winter?? I want to be one of those." He grinned, hoping to gain some sort of reaction out of Larky. But something had shifted, and he wasn’t quite sure what.

Hmm, must’ve been the night’s chill getting to his pal. He seemed nervous. Was he chilly? The naive cat tilted his head ever so slightly, unsure of what to do. If poor Larkstripe got any colder, he supposed he’d have no choice but to snuggle up to him and try to warm him up. For now, he would just continue conversation. "I sure wish that was the standard experience. Battles would be so much less... battle-y? But I almost forgot about what you said about beaches and sand...pipes? I forgot to ask — what is a sandpipe? I mean, it kinda sounds like it would be a snake. But... I don’t know," He kind of cut himself off, realizing he was rambling a bit. Though his curiosity about the "sandpipes" overtook him. Watching snakes on a beach didn’t sound very relaxing to him, though maybe the snakes were special, or somethin.

I have to admit, sleeping through the worst of leaf-bare is quite appealing.” He admitted, his heart still a bit airy feeling in his chest. At the mention of sandpipers, the ginger warrior’s features brightened.
“Oh, no, but that’s a reasonable guess—they’re little birds with long breaks and legs, and they live by the seashore. When the waves cover the shore they flee from the water—when it recedes, they run back to eat mussels and little crabs in its wake. Always running back and forth. They’re quite amusing to watch.” He explained, amused by the memory of the peculiar little birds fleeing about the surf.

Aha, bear! That was the word. "Yeah! That’s it. Caves seem kind of creepy and lonely, but maybe with someone to share 'em with, it isn’t so bad!" Honestky, Beanpaw would be a lonely bear. He would definitely not be comfy on his own in a dark cave. He’s at least wanna have some friends with him to sleep through the winter with, right?

Ohh! "They run on the sand... and they have beaks like... pipes? Probably! Though they’re probably not out in the winter, are they..?" he asked, half to himself, but half wanting an answer from Larkstripe. As he pondered, he made a little sand hill between his front paws. As he scooped the sand, he noticed it was cooler the further down he dug. Huh, neat!

Larkstripe let out a soft chuff of amusement, “Well...not all caves are bad. I know of a secret cave...well, I suppose it’s my secret because no one especially cares about caves other than myself I, I guess...there’s a beautiful cave in the cliffs at Lionsbeach...technically outside of our borders. I discovered it when I was an apprentice, I was...looking for a quiet place to get away. I still go sometimes.” He confessed quietly, a bit melancholy at the memory. He perked up a bit though, at the mention of sandpipers.
“Oh, they’re here year round—running to and from the tide all day every day. They’re decent prey, but...for some reason I can’t bring myself to hunt them.”

Sootstar
__________

"I suppose we ought to get this thing started then, hm?"

Buckstar didn't seem keen on going first and so Sootstar stepped forward, clearing his throat in preparation for projecting his voice over the din of the crowd.

"Overall, RiverClan has been doing well."

"Prey is running well enough in the tunnels to keep up fed and many warriors have returned in the past moons to give their help in these times."

"Lakepaw and Mousepaw have both begun their training and I hope their new names - their warrior names - will be part of my announcements again here soon. Another, Beanpaw, joined our ranks several seasons ago and I was there to welcome him into the clan. I am more than glad to be able to announce his warriorship here tonight. Be sure to give your congratulations to Beansprout if you see him."

"It hasn't all been good, however. Charredpaw and Appleseed have both passed away. I believe both of their deaths were avoidable and I intend to speak with my warriors further on these matters." Sootstar straightened up, giving the crowd a moment to take in that information before continuing. He shot Dawnstar a quick glance then turned his attention back to the cats before him.

"Another clanmate - Sugarapple - was killed. The circumstances surrounding her death cannot simply be resolved within my clan alone. She and Flyfur were out in the territory when a ShadowClanner - a trespasser - attacked them. They ripped out Sugarapple's throat like a savage."

"ShadowClan has a history of not respecting our borders and nothing has changed. Whether Dawnstar cannot get her warriors in line or simply does not care to, I won't tolerate this sort of behavior any longer!" With every word, Sootstar's voice seemed to rise in volume but remained firm and steady all the same. "From here on, any ShadowClanners who enter RiverClan territory without the escort of a RiverClan patrol are to be killed on sight."

Now, he turned away from the crowd to address Dawnstar directly, "I do not wish for this to escalate. All it takes is you getting your clanmates in order and this doesn't have to go any further."

And with that, he stepped back to allow for Buckstar to give his announcements.

Buckstar eyed Sootstar with arched brows as the RiverClan leader began the announcements. To call Dawnstar out like that was bold - almost too bold, if you asked him, although someone needed to let her know that she wasn't going to get off easy if she allowed the sort of things Icestar had. He was just glad he hadn't been the one who had to say anything.

As Sootstar stepped back, he moved forward to take the other tom's spot.

"ThunderClan has also been handling things rather well."

"Several Clanmates have returned to us. Smokekit, Leafkit, Sheepkit, Icepaw, and Hailstride have all arrived home safely."

"Lightningpaw, Eaglepaw, Lightpaw, Goslingpaw, and Tawnypaw have all begun their training, and I have full confidence in their mentors. They'll make wonderful warriors someday."

"Speaking of warriors... I'm very happy to announce that Falconpaw has completed her training, and now goes by Falconglare! If you happen to see her tonight, don't be afraid to extend to her your congratulations. She's worked hard to get to where she is now."

"I would also like to commend Gravehound for his bravery tonight. While he and Echofall were on patrol, he managed to move Echofall out of the way of a falling tree in the nick of time."

He spared Sootstar a brief glance.

"Like RiverClan, it seems, not everything has been positive."

"Beetlepaw has been exiled. He shouted violent threats at his Clanmates and even went as far as to attack Cowtail. If you see a brown tabby with green eyes and one black paw attempting to join your Clan or venturing beyond your borders, you have my permission to kill him."

"Gravelblaze and Driftsong have also passed away. Gravelblaze slipped into the river and drowned, and Driftsong died not soon after she saw her mate's body in the clearing. They were buried next to each other in Firefly Cove. They left their daughter, Frostkit, behind, and I've taken it upon myself to care for her. I wish Gravelblaze and Driftsong safe travels to StarClan."

"Lionblaze and Jaypaw were also attacked by coyotes at the RiverClan border. I ask you all to be on the lookout for these predators, but especially RiverClan."

With that, Buckstar returned to his place on the rock.

One ear turned towards the minnow when he started meowing about dead cats and somehow it being her fault, or rather her clan's.

Unlike her mother, who would have either tried to defend herself and her clan or hackled at the bold statement, Dawnstar just didn't care. The leader had no witty comments or comebacks. She had already told her clanmates not to mess with the other two clans, if they did they'd be on their own. She was debating on figuring out who it was that killed the fish and making an example, but at the same time, she had bigger fish to fry so she might leave it alone until she got bored with terrorizing the rabbits.

"I've already told my clan to leave RiverClan alone, if they can't get it through their thick skulls not to mess with your cats, I encourage you to kill them on sight should they cross into your borders or harm your clanmates." The molly meowed in a level tone without bothering to look at the other leader. She was hunting rabbits not fish, so if Minnowstar wanted to kill the imbeciles in her clan for neglecting to heed her orders, he'd be saving her the effort.

"You don't need my permission," Dawnstar threw a glance at ThunderClan leader, "but feel free to give your cats the same order." She didn't feel like she and her whole clan should be blamed for a few bad seeds, so why not pluck them out of the picture altogether. She wasn't wasting her breath or going to war for dumbasses, she gave her word that she'd protect those that prove useful and strengthen ShadowClan, those who went against her or fail to listen were trash to her. That was that. She was not being unreasonable, bias, or crude, she wasn't in the mood to put her neck on the line nor those who fell in line, for a few rats.

"If we're done here, boys, I have things to do." Dawnstar rose, eyes shifting over to the WindClan deputy, before leaping off the stones. "ShadowClan, get your asses in gear, we're leaving." She roared, stalking off the beach assuming her cats would keep up with her.

"Twice, why?" she asked.
¨oh,¨ Silverpaw mewed casually, ¨ I just was curious.¨ she listened to the leaders and felt some fear.
¨sounds like a rough time among the clan. still, I´m glad I met you tonight.¨ silverpaw thought. so many.... threats. that seemed like a good word. she started to feel a little scared, but shook it away.
¨I´m not in any danger,¨ she mewed to herself. but yet, the sound of that apprentice frightened her.
