The large she-cat rose from her place underneath the Shadowledge, leaping up she let out a loud yowl as soon as all four came down on the solid slab.

"Doeflame has come to me with plans to assist with preparations for leafbare." Dawnstar sharp glare cut into her clanmates.

"I want the warriors and apprentices to help her out. ShadowClan could do with extra prey." Dawnstar wanted every cat to help out with something even if the task was somewhat dull.

"Speak with Doeflame to figure out patrols and what needs to be done." A thought popped into her head as she lashed her tail and leaped off the Shadowledge.

The she-cat jumped up and dashed over to Doeflame. "What do you want me to do?" she asked excitedly. She loved doing things that would help her Clan! She felt like she could never amount to anything if she didn't work so hard she felt like she couldn't anymore.

Ravenpaw came up to Doeflame. "Hi! I'm Ravenpaw! What can I do? I could get moss before it get's soaked? Or hunt?" He said, fluffing out his fur to make himself warmer.

Paprikapaw padded up she didn’t know much about hunting and want very good at it but she knew she could help with something.

Taking a step into the middle of the clearing, Doeflame raised her voice to give a quick overview of what was going to be happening, starting with the actual hunting part. I'm going to ask most of the warriors and apprentices to go hunting, since that's the main point of what we're doing. Ugh, that sounded stupid. Looking about for the first time at those gathered, she was rather miffed to discover that so far it was only apprentices, which would be fairly problematic if they were actually going to be hunting in more than one group. At least none of them were total newbies, they could hunt alright anyway. Continuing, she added If any warriors are interested in leading a group, come over and talk to me.

Scampering over at the call to action for apprentices and warriors, Shrewpaw skidded to a stop in front of Doeflame, at attention. He had to train hard, work his butt off. That was what Blackhaze had said, and he was going to do that. He was going to do that for sure. Seeing all the other apprentices babble was a little funny, instead he listened to the directions and looked around. No warriors so far, which was a bit disappointing, but they didn't need them if they weren't going to be useful.

Roseshiver tipped her head as Dawnstar summoned them. Ooh, goody. Another event. They seemed to be doing that a lot recently, which was quite interesting, since Dawnstar was a crazy who didn't know how to deal with her Clan. Doeflame. Honestly, Rose didn't know all that much about her, except for the fact that she was super cute. "Hey, Doeflame!" Roseshiver greeted her. "I'll be willing to participate in the event, sounds like fun!"

SoftHeart padded up to the clearing at the announcement of the event. He approached DoeFlame with high hopes. “I’m willing to participate. That is if assistance is still needed.” He seemed pretty confident he could produce a successful squad, even if he had never had an apprentice.

He awkwardly nodded at DoeFlame and backed up back into the semi-crowd of the clearing. He was quite excited about this whole event. A chance to prove himself successful. [ gs29513 ]

Duskfern searched the group of cats for Doeflame. She had seen the cat before, but never really interacted with her. She layed her eyes on the she-cat, and padded over. ”I’m willing to participate,” she mewed flatly. She didn’t like the fact that this cat was most likely going to boss her around, but after all, leaf-bare was approaching, and ShadowClan wasn’t too prepared. “May I lead a patrol?” she asked with a hint in her tone, telling Doeflame to beware.

Leafbare undoubtedly won the award as the busiest season of the four, Talonstone thought to himself bluntly as he walked over to Doeflame's position. He knew not much about the molly, other than her continued activity within the clan which he approved of. The shadows lacked hard workers nearly as much as they lacked kittens.

At around the same time as the other few warriors, the large tom regarded Doeflame from a distance. "I can lead if still necessary," he shared.

The demoted apprentice headed over to the leading she-cat, not making eye contact. She sat down, making sure to sit alone from everyone else. Was her punishment still going? Failpaw had been sent into isolation, so she had to hunt alone, right? Maybe Doeflame would know.

Leaf-bare... She quite well remembered the cold times and struggle it brought, both in prey and possibly herbs, she presumed. The white warrior's ears flickered at the announcement and, without much thinking nor hesitating, padded forward with a small nod to Doeflame to make it clear she'd be helping as well. It was needed, after all, and Nightshiver was quite pleased to see her apprentice decided to join too.

Fawnwhisper padded over to where the event was taking place. She hoped she wasn’t late again, or Dawnstar would really have her tail. She heard that Doeflame was in charge and went to find her. gs29513

More warriors had arrived, as well as the demoted one, Failpaw. It seemed like there were enough of them anyway, and she might as well start getting the patrols set. It seemed like two of the warriors were up for being leaders, Talonstone who she was definitely putting in charge of one and the other, rather forcefully molly she supposed. Nodding to them both, she mewed Of course you can both lead one. Duskfern,( Minty the Merry ) do you want to take Softheart( FlamePoint ), Paprikapaw( Dusty bells. ) and maybe...... looking around for another apprentice to send with her Frogpaw.( feather lily ) Figuring another two patrols in her mind, she waved her tail at Roseshiver, who was enthusiastic if nothing else. Talonstone ( bmkmb ) could you take Fawnwhisper ( Ikoria the Wolf Pup ), Shrewpaw and Brackenpaw ( Peril ) with you? She knew at least that those two apprentices had been around a while, and were good hunters. Roseshiver( Cold Cobra ) if you could take Nightshiver( Estelle) and Ravenpaw( Reindeer Nightmares ) with you that would be great. She knew she might be giving some of the younger warriors patrols when they normally might not have led them, but it wasn't like a border where everyone might have to work together under orders. It would be good practice for some of the anyway.

Fawnwhisper let out a small sigh of relief. She wouldn’t have to lead a patrol. She spotted Talonstone, and silently padded over. She did like to hunt, but her fear of being mocked by other cats always put her in a worried mood if she wasn’t hunting alone. Having the leaders that she did didn’t help either. At all. She sat down quietly, awaiting instruction.

The molly bounced over and smiled at the leading warrior. "I'm ready, Talonstone!" She said nodding her head in respect to the warrior.

Nightshadow padded over to Doeflame. "What can I do to help?" She meowed. She hoped she would get chosen for one of the patrols but she didn't. Nightshadow was one of the best hunters in the Clan, that's why she wanted to go on a patrol. At least she could hopefully help her Clan in a different way.

Oh, it looked like someone else had shown up a bit late. Where was she going to put her? Oh yes, Roseshiver was only taking a couple other cats, Nightshadow could go with her. Raising her voice a bit, Doeflame called Roseshiver, I'm going to have Nightshadow go with you as well if that's alright with you. Just in case someone was confused by her lack of going, she mewed to no one in particular I'm going to stay in camp and get some storage ready for the prey. which would probably involve some holes, coated with moss if she had time to keep the prey from getting all dirty. He watched quietly as a leaffall-colored feline approached and sat down, then directed his attention towards another brown molly as she ran over. With the traditional number of four cats to a patrol, that left Shrewpaw as the final member; Shrewpaw, who, Talonstone noted wryly, also happened to wear a pelt of brown fur. It seemed that felines assigned patrol groups by pelt color nowadays. At least it made the task of identifying unacquainted clanmates slightly simpler.

Once the last member of his patrol approached, Talonstone shared, "We will hunt at Herondive Hollow in order to capture any birds, squirrels, mice, or similar creatures before they become scarce during leafbare." Looking to the molly apprentice, he asked, "Brackenpaw. How well can you hunt?" The warrior was fairly sure that Shrewpaw already had much experience in slaying prey, but he flicked his tail towards the tom regardless, meaning you may also answer if you wish.

Ooh, she was getting duties. Honestly? The 48-moon old cat felt so.. joyful and radiant and young again. Okay, Nightshiver and Nightshadow? Yeah, she was not gonna get that mixed up. "Hiya," Roseshiver purred. "'M Roseshiver, and I'll be leading you." The rose-cream female flashed a shining smile, and shook out her soft, fluffy pelt. "Nice name! So, where do y'all think we should go?"

Brackenpaw could hunt well, the other two were warriors, so it seemed like Shrewpaw would be in the role of the weak link, something he preferred to avoid. Still, he was now quite experienced and it wasn't as though he was a bad hunter, it was more of a case of they had a good group of hunters. Which was good, since this was all about a lot of prey basically. Nodding quickly to Talonstone as he informed them where they would be heading, to basically clear the area. Normally he didn't try and catch everything, move around a bit, but they were going to be eating it for a while so they ought to catch anything that hadn't gone into hiding. bmkmb Ikoria the Wolf Pup Peril

Nightshiver was last to join the group, mainly out of struggle off having to find them first. Upon nearing them, she gave an apologetic look for her tardiness then after a heartbeat meowed softly "wh-where wi-ll we-e be g-goi-ing?" she hadn't heard Roseshiver's question nor Nightshadow's suggestion, a result of that slight tardiness, so wouldn't have known what else to say. All she really knew for the moment was that they should probably leave soon.

"I dunno, but let's GOOOOOOOOOO!" Ravenpaw jumped up and down. He smiled, ready. "When are we leaving, and where are we going?" He asked, sitting down. He realized he was acting like a new apprentice.

Glad that all the groups had dispersed, Doeflame got down to the business of digging holes. It was grungy and her paws were caked in mud, but it was important that someone do it, and since there weren't quite as many cats as she had expected she figured she ought to be doing her part. A fair number of holes were dug already, a row of them, each big enough for a few pieces of prey at least, so she began collecting moss, plastering it to the bottom and sides so the prey would be clean and not covered in dirt when they ended up eating it. They would be glad of any prey she was sure, but it wouldn't hurt to do something while she waited.

Wolfstrike groaned. Another boring job on another boring day. Well, it's better than nothing she thought, sitting down to scratch her ear. She groaned again, thinking about if the whole "hunt for leaf-bare" thing was worth it. Well, I can either take a blissful nap and be woken up by annoying apprentices screaming into my face, or I can hunt. She decided to rather go and hunt, or whatever Dawnstar said they should do. Was it checking the borders or hunting? Or was it digging useless holes when they would eat everything in an instant? Wolfstrike was getting annoyed. "Doeflame. DOEFLAME! Wasn't I supposed to go dig holes or something? Well, what am I supposed to do? Shouldn't you be making patrols?" Wolfstrike asked, a little too rudely.
