Icestar had stormed off after Windystar's useless rant. Well, perhaps not entirely useless, but she wouldn't admit that right now. She was furious. She couldn't fathom the fact that StarClan had caused the barn fire. It couldn't be possible! That can't be right! She walked at a brisk pace, her muscular form rippling beneath her pelt, until the scenery suddenly shifted.
She was torn away into darkness, the starry expanse whirling away like a gust of wind, leaving way to only inky blackness. Her heart raced. What was this? A vision? She'd never been given a vision before. And before she could fully process the whirlwind of stars, the world came back into focus.
She was standing on the border between StarClan and the Dark Forest. Quite literally. Her left paws were with the stars, while her right paws were with darkness. Her ears folded back as her orange eyes darted back and forth. What is this? She moved to take a step back towards StarClan--she wasn't done with them yet. But when she tried, it was as if her right paws were trapped. She couldn't move them over the border. Suddenly beginning to panic, she tried stepping the other way--into the Dark Forest. But her left paws would not budge. They stayed firmly rooted in StarClan's territory.
Her head swiveled back and forth, seeking out any sign of cats on either side.
"Release me! What have you done!" She yowled at whoever might be listening. This was ridiculous! The nerve! ...She wanted to just brush it off like that. But her fear continued to rise and her breathing accelerated. How long must I be trapped here?
