⊱ description ⊰
appearance; small // long // wiry // black // white // yellow-green

personality; tough // physical // stubborn // cocky // funny // hard-working

If anyone can go the distance, Frecklebark can. Freckle is a little spitfire and he has enough fight in him that he could take on all of Shadowclan! Or so he thinks. Frecklebark really proves the saying that it isn’t the size of the dog in the fight but the size of the fight in the dog. He is dead serious about training and he loves to prove himself. Praise means nothing to him- he wants those critiques baby! There’s always room for improvement. The grind don’t stop. Get that bread.

Freckle can be pushy and rude. He doesn’t have anything against cats in general, he just doesn’t have time for niceties. There’s training to be done! With all of his physicality and need to prove himself, he tends to brush cats off. Frecklebark cares about friends and family, though, once you get through to him and he is very protective. He’s like everyone’s big brother (well older) and isn’t afraid to go toe to toe with any bullies. He isn’t afraid of anyone really- which gets him into trouble.
Freckle’s response to everything is to physically fight and that doesn’t depend on who he would be fighting. He’ll try to fight anyone. All the time. And get his tail whooped.

His cockiness may get him in trouble, but it also pushes him to be better, and he is low-key just a ball of tough energy that wants to fight everything. His friends had better get used to holding him back. At least he’s funny too- and comes up with great games!

Fadedheart

empathetic // forgiving // problem solver

Fadedheart is the kind of cat who tries to abstain from holding grudges against people for something they've done in the past and allows himself to be quite forgiving, which can end up biting him in the tail sometimes, but he continues to just let the past be the past and forgive anyone who does him wrong. He knows cats have their weaknesses & their flaws, their bad days and their bad decisions, (since that's what he first notices due to his pessimism) and so he doesn't want to hold things against them as long as they've apologized and both Fadedheart and them can move on. the world is full of bad people and bad choices they've made --Fadedheart doesn't want to dwell on that pain that they can cause him if there's the option to just let go of it all and forgive. forgiving is different than forgetting, though, and Fadedheart doesn't forget. but that's not what we're talking about. perhaps one of the reasons Fadedheart finds it so casual and easy to forgive people is due to his empathy. he can understand other peoples' actions and secondhand feel their emotions almost as strongly as they themselves do. Fadedheart can put himself in other peoples' shoes/paws, see things from their perspective to a certain extent, and understand mostly why they do what they do and how they felt at that moment. This understanding, this sympathy/empathy, allows him to be more eager to forgive people, since he understands the situation from their view. Moving on, Fadedheart is a problem solver! He doesn't spend all of his time thinking about one certain problem and simply worrying about it. No, no, he sets out on trying to find a way to solve the aforementioned problem. He looks at the issue from all sorts of angles and sides, and spends a lot of time overthinking about it before coming to some nice -- or as nice as he can get it to be -- conclusion about how to solve it. Why worry about the problem when you can just fix it? that's what Fadedheart believes. unless it's unfixable - but a problem like that has yet to be encountered.

competitive // absentminded // monochromatic thinker // brave

Fadedheart always wants to win win win. He tries not to be a sore loser - although he does usually get disappointed about losses but pushes those feelings aside as best he can - but that doesn't change the fact that he's constantly turning every other thing into a competition or a race. Even if something isn't stated explicitly as a situation that can have an obvious winner/loser, fadedheart ranks himself compared to the abilities of others and is constantly trying to surpass or compete with his peers in some form of another. He might not even tell the other person that it's a competition - but in his mind, it's always a competition. Perhaps not the healthiest mindset, but Fadedheart feels satisfied after a nice, well-done race. However, when not in the middle of making something a competition, this lad is noticeably very absentminded. He daydreams consistently and zones out on a regular basis, blanking out in the middle of things that he should probably be paying close attention to. He gets distracted quite easily and is lost in his thoughts often, although he dislikes being left alone to his thoughts as his thoughts begin to get annoying, confusing, embarrassing, a mixture of all three, or something else that Fadedheart doesn't quite enjoy. He's got a pretty limited attention span, as much as he tries to make himself interested in what's going on around him; while he can try to pay attention, he really can and does try his hardest most times, but he gets all wrapped up thinking about what they say and what he'll say in response that he just gets carried away living in his own mind. This black & white kitty sees the world in exactly the same way as his fur: black and white. right or wrong. good or bad. While he's aware of an existing in between, and that black & white have to add up to gray and that there's definitely some moral gray areas, he has his own idea of what's right or wrong and sees the world like that. He's a monochromatic thinker in this sense, although his thinking might also be seen as dichotomous, as he separates everything into two groups of good or bad. this bicolored cat is pretty brave, as well. He's not afraid to be the first to try something out and/or do something that might be viewed as dangerous or fear-inducing to others. This might be a bit because of how impulsive he is and how he doesn't 100% think things through, but all the while he's still brave in different senses; standing up for others, willing to be the first/one of the first to try something new and unknown, standing for his opinion and what he thinks is right, taking responsibility for his actions, etcetera. This is a neutral trait of his instead of positive or something similar due to how it can make him do pretty stupid things, as he doesn't really pay attention to the fear (whether the literal feeling of fear or simply a mental fear of something such as rejection or failure) of doing those things.

pessimistic // stubborn // impulsive

Fadedheart... tends to see things from the more pessimistic side. He's a glass half empty kind of guy, y'know? He downplays good experiences and everything, writes them off, dismisses them, whatever, while focusing on the less positive things. He expects the worst possible outcome out of most things, notices the bad stuff before anything positive, and has doubts about peoples' intentions when first meeting them. Fadedheart doesn't have very high expectations out of the world, or anyone. He thinks about the worst positive outcomes before giving most things a shot -- if he's ever weighing, the pros and cons, the cons always outweigh the pros in his mind -- although it usually doesn't deter him from doing whatever he was going to do. Don't mistake this for determination; nope, this is his stubbornness coming in to play. While his stubbornness does tend to make him more persistent, it also makes him less likely to give up on his opinions and thoughts. He's pretty sure he's right most of the time and it's difficult to change his thoughts about anything once he's already made up his mind. even when he knows he's... probably in the wrong, Fadedheart won't admit to anything and will continuously argue to prove his point. he may even.. say something he doesn't actually mean, due to his rather impulsive behavior. Fadedheart doesn't exactly think before acting, instead doing whatever first comes to mind, and although a bit of forethought might come into play, it's not a common occurrence for Fadedheart to approach with caution. He works on instinct. emotions rather than logic. Impulse overtakes self-control. He acts on a whim... and comes to regret some things he says or does later on when he's a bit more clear-headed.

appearance: 1 // 2 // 3

description: Similar to a Turkish Van, Fadedheart here sports a select few markings decorating his base coat of white fur. He has black patches along his forehead, as if he's wearing a black beanie for each ear; the black fur covers his ears and the top of his head excluding a tiny white indent in the middle. His noticeably fluffy and long tail is black as well. with bright amber-olive eyes and a finely-sized nose, as well as thick curly whiskers, Fadedheart's round face looks pretty snazzy if he does say so himself. typically his fur is worn messily with moderate grooming and tending to. Fadedheart has a muscular, chunky build, which isn't too ideal for the excessive running he does but provides a nice, substantial amount of power. He is long-furred, blocking view of his noticeable muscles.

Name: Withersoul
Name Orgin: Wither = For his gray fur, which to his mother looked like a withered plant. Soul = His bravery, loyalty, and strength.
Gender: Male
Appearance: https://i.pinimg.com/originals/d7/89/ee/d789ee76df18f3d71bf2aa49edb79725.jpg
Sexuality: Straight
Age: 100 moons
Rank: Elder
Clan: Shadowclan
Personality: Grumpy, Pessimist, Loyal, "you don't know old school", Smart, Daring, can be kind/loving to those he likes, tempermental, slightly sarcastic, slightly lazy.

Withersoul is a slightly grumpy fellow. He almost always sees the worst possibilities. For example if the camp was on fire he'd probally say, "Yay! We're all gonna die".

Withersoul is actually quite loving and kind if you get to know him (or if he likes you) but sometimes even after you develop a good relationship with him and you anger him, he'll snap. He's quite tempermental, especially when people insult him. He believes everybody in ShadowClan is young and practically a kit. He LOVES to talk about and relive his glory days in his head. He often enjoys bossing the apprentices around just to annoy them. Sadly due to his old age he isn't as active as he once was and is slightly lazy.

Appearance: Smoke tabby with ice blue eyes. A few battle scars including a large one on his hip and another one right above his eye.

Backstory: Withersoul was born to Applebriar (Mother, NPC) and Badgerfang (Father, NPC). He had three siblings Honeykit, Mulchkit, and Skunkkit. Skunkkit died at birth. Applebriar was sad about this but not completely heartbroken, for she still had three healthy kits and a wonderfull mate! As Witherkit, Mulchkit, and Honeykit grew up their mom protected them and was always there for them. Their dad? Not so much. Badgerfang didn't really care for his children. Instead of visiting them, Badgerfang took more patrols so he could avoid them. One day when the kits were about 5-6 moons old Witherkit had a great idea: they could sneak out of camp and say hello to their father! Witherkit told his siblings. Mulchkit said that is was too dangerous and he wouldn't do it, but Honeykit enthusiastically agreed.

Honeykit and Witherkit had snuck out of camp when they smelled something odd. They followed the scent went suddenly a badger leaped at them! Witherkit and Honeykit were shocked for a second frozen. Witherkit attempted to fight it off and so did Honeykit. Eventually they tried to run away but Honeykit's leg was stuck under a bush. The last time Witherkit saw his sister alive was when the badger attacked her. Hearing the commotion, a small patrol of cats including Badgerfang went to see what it was. Upon seeing it, the warriors attacked it. Evenually they killed it but not without some losses. One of the warriors was fatally injured and Honeykit was dead. Witherkit was brought back to camp.
The warriors told the leader the news. The clan held vigil for the fallen cats, but what seemed odd to Witherkit was that his dad did nothing to comfort his mom. Mulchkit soon became an apprentice but Witherkit was forced to stay a kit for another moon. Applebriar sunk into depression rarely eating and only sometimes drinking. Witherkit soon became Witherpaw and he was assigned Foxstep (NPC) as his mentor. Foxstep and Witherpaw developed a sibling like relationship. Soon after his apprenticeship Applebriar died.

When he was 8 moons old, Witherpaw met a pretty RiverClan she cat named Sleetpaw. He developed a crush on her, visiting her every moon or so. His brother was against this saying it was too dangerous. Witherpaw ignored him. Soon Witherpaw had his first taste of battle. A small Thunderclan patrol had "wandered" onto Shadowclan territory. Foxstep, Witherpaw, and the rest of their patrol beat the Thunderclan patrol in the end but Witherpaw still managed to get a scar. After ShadowClan launched a small attack on Thunderclan, Mulchpaw started acting weird. One day when Witherpaw was 9-10 moons old, he and Foxstep went hunting. Suddenly some rogues attacked them! It was 3 to 2. Witherpaw fought off one of them and went to help Foxstep when suddenly the one he had chased off reapered and practically ripped off Foxstep's leg! By then Foxstep had fatally wounded one of them and the other was running. Witherpaw attemped to kill the rogue who injured his mentor but it got away. Witheraw dragged Foxstep back to Shadowclan. The medicine cat had saved Foxstep's life but he as unable to continue his warrior duties. Witherpaw stopped visiting Sleetpaw soon after.

Soon Badgerfang took over Witherpaw's training, making him work for many hours a day. Mostly battle training though. Witherpaw was taught how to kill or severly injure oppenents. He was forced to fight with claws unsheathed. Witherpaw became 10 moons old. Late one night Mulchpaw told Witherpaw something shocking: that his father had ordered the rogues that had injured Foxstep to kill Shadowclan's leader, but instead they ran into Witherpaw and his mentor. Witherpaw didn't believe him causing a fight between the two. The day after that Mulchpaw disappeared; he had joined Riverclan.

He and his brother avoided each other at Gatherings staying away from anyone from each other's clan. Soon it was time for Witherpaw to become a warrior. He was named Withersoul for his brave and loyal soul.

While out hunting Withersoul smelled rogues and... his father? He saw his father talking with the rogues about taking over ShadowClan. The rogues were the same ones that had almost killed Foxstep, except there was a 4th now. A young female around his age. Withersoul had attempted to slink away but stepped on a twig and alerted the rogues. Seeing as he couldn't run now, he confronted his father. The rogues and Badgerfang attacked him.

Upon realizing that Badgerfang was willing to kill his own son the young female joined sides with Badgerfang to fight them off. Apparently Mulchpaw had been spying on his father as well, because he suddenly joined the fight along with a female RiverClan apprentice. They defeated the rogues and Badgerfang driving them across the Thunderpath and into the Twolegplace. The cats returned to their own clans and the loner who had helped joined ShadowClan.

She quickly became a warrior named Kestrelblaze. Kestrelblaze and Withersoul started hanging out. They developed crushes on each other and eventually became mates. Many many moons later, 65 to be exact, Withersoul became an elder. Kestrelblaze had died giving birth to their second litter of kits, leaving Withersoul to raise them on his own.
