☆Ludi's Somewhat Helpful Cat Genetics Guide☆

Genetics
Eyes: The eye colors of a cat are extremely diverse, but there are a few that cannot occur naturally. Violet: A cat would need to be born a kittypet or be Albino. Purple is not a dominant color, so even if some cat in their ancestry was a kittypet, it is still not possible. To have purple eyes and have markings, they would have to be somehow genetically modified before birth. I'm not gonna get into the nitty-gritties of that. Purple-grey is not purple. It is grey that reflects light in a way that creates a faint illusion of purple in certain lighting. Albino cats can have pale purple eyes, but they are usually more of a pale lilac and albino cats cannot have markings. Red: Red (or pink-red) only occurs naturally on albino cats. Here is a list of possible eye colors and, if applicible, necessary conditions (Or you can look at this chart (http://messybeast.com/eye-colours.jpg)).

Green (Pronounced) - Most likely kittypet descended or born. Less common in black cats, but possible for most, if not all, breeds.
Green (Faded) - More common in non kittypet-born cats, but possible in pretty much any cat.
Torquoise (Pronounced) - A cat with teal/torquoise eyes are genetically recessive and would have to be a purebred Siamese or a purebred Chinchilla.
Torquoise (Faded) - See "Torquoise (Pronounced)". The only difference is that it can be half-bred, provided one parent is entirely purebred or both parents are faded torquoise.
Ice Blue (Pronounced) - Genetic mutation, most common in white cats.

*Just because you found an image of one of these does NOT mean it's real!*

Pelt: As a basic rule, cats are never one of three primary colors. They can be close to blue, red, or yellow, but never exactly one. A calico tom is 1 in 10,000, but possible as long as they dont have kits, since they tend to be inpotent (unable to father kits). Female Calicos are perfectly common.

Eye shape: Here ya go (http://messybeast.com/images/eye-shapes.jpg)

Size and Hight
Unless you're planning on your cat getting a heart attack before they reach 26 moons, cats should NEVER be taller than twelve inches (in rare cases.) The tallest cat ever known was 19 inches and died young. Cats are generally 7-9 inches at full hight. As for weight, they rarely if ever weigh over 15 pounds, but I recommend searching "weight for a __ inch tall cat" on google.

Names
Cats should never name their kits after personality or eye color. Cats who are born that open their eyes with a predetermined color have a 99.9999999999999% chance of being blind and are 1 in a million. Cats are also never named after a disability. The following is a list of suggested names.

Acacia-

Hope that guide helped!

And seriously, if everyone has ten genetically rare cats, what makes them genetically rare anymore?

i just wanna point out that violet eyes tend to be more common in albinos or white cats and calico males can be fertile but it's about 1 in 10,000 of every male calico
