Winter had always been a season close to Ema's heart.
Memories of warm fires, the smell of fresh food, the sound of laughter and joy...it was long behind her, but even as Ema padded through the dew covered grass and breathed in crisp, cold air, she couldn't help but feel nostalgic. Every day was a struggle, the nights cold and her belly often empty, and yet today, Ema felt oddly at peace. It was a season familiar to her. A small taste of home.
As much as she would have loved to reminisce, though, a large growl erupted from her stomach. The cat jumped, her long hair standing on end as she scanned her surroundings to see if anything had heard her. She relaxed as she scanned her surroundings, though. Ema was alone for the time...she needed to make the most of it. Slowly, she made her way through the trees, putting her past behind her for the moment and preparing to hunt.
