Winter had always been a season close to Ema's heart.

Memories of warm fires, the smell of fresh food, the sound of laughter and joy...it was long behind her, but even as Ema padded through the dew covered grass and breathed in crisp, cold air, she couldn't help but feel nostalgic. Every day was a struggle, the nights cold and her belly often empty, and yet today, Ema felt oddly at peace. It was a season familiar to her. A small taste of home.

As much as she would have loved to reminisce, though, a large growl erupted from her stomach. The cat jumped, her long hair standing on end as she scanned her surroundings to see if anything had heard her. She relaxed as she scanned her surroundings, though. Ema was alone for the time...she needed to make the most of it. Slowly, she made her way through the trees, putting her past behind her for the moment and preparing to hunt.

Moon was busy trying to hunt but she kept in getting distracted by the way the light bounced off of the trees. She carefully climbed a tree were a squirrel was sitting she managed to get on the same branch as it and pounced. But the squirrel was quicker he jumped onto the next tree and Moon tried to follow but ended up falling. She howled out in pain and frustration CykaFlat

Ema flicked her tail in frustration, her ears flattened to her head as she continued her search. Nothing so far. She didn't want to risk her life rooting through rubbish bins, but she wasn't finding anything so far. She silently stalked through the forest floor, carefully stepping over any sticks or rocks in her path. If she was quiet, she had a better chance of catching something. Ema had learned that much.

As the yowl of what sounded like another cat rang out through the woods, though, it seemed quiet wasn't happening for much longer.

Ema shot up from her lowered walking position, her fur puffing up as her ears flicked towards the direction of the cat. Her first instinct was to run, get as far away from danger as she could, to not risk her life and live another day. She didn't know what had happened, or if they were friendly, but...another thought crossed her mind. Food. They may have food. After a few moments, Ema began to walk towards the sound, hoping that whoever had made the noise was friendly.
