Introduction

You open your eyes to find yourself within a darkened forest. Not knowing where you are, nor remembering anything of your past, you begin to make your way through the greenery. Head low and tilted, your eyes narrow as foreign scents waft to your twitching nostrils. Tail lashing, ears pricked, you stalk along a dirt path, littered with debris. Darkness threatens to consume you as it seeps from hidden depths of the unknown. Eery sounds whisper through the fur of your ears. It sounds like a screeching laughter, coming from every which direction.
Your heart races. You begin to feel the urge to flee, to get out of the dangerous forest as fast as your can, but you were lost. Unable to remember where you are, how you got here, or where you came from. Your claws slid from their sheaths, but the laughter grew louder and louder. It was futile, you'd never escape. Whoever was out there was acting as if this was a game, like you were their source of entertainment! Inhaling deeply, you prepare to surrender yourself to the near insanity, but before anything happens, you hear a voice.
“You're no fun. Submitting to the game so easily? I thought you'd last a little longer,” the voice was deep, almost demented. A feline figure stalked from the shadows, a malicious glint in their one eye. “Welcome to Shadeclan. You won't last very long here if you keep up that behavior. I'm Shadestar, the leader. And this,” the figure, Shadestar, pointed to a dark ginger molly, who had come out beside you, “is my second-in-command, Asterfall. I'd ask who you are, but you'd obviously not know. You see, we tricked you into coming here. Asterfall knocked you out, but I guess she hit you too hard as to give you amnesia.” The one-eyed tom gazed at you, a look of bloodlust within his eye. “We live in the clan of insanity, and you're our newest victim. Welcome to the clan. I hope you have a nice stay,” growled Shadestar before he lunged, a searing pain shooting through your chest as everything went black.

About

The cats of Shadeclan are seen as vile, deadly creatures. They will kill without thought, and are more than welcome to allow the most dangerous of loners and rogues to join them. It is rare to meet a cat of Shadeclan who hasn’t the slightest of insanity, even if they are the most kind.
Average pelt colours of a Shadeclan cat are dark, long-furred, but thin, while the normal eye-colours of a clanmate are blue, green and yellow. It is rare to see a solidly coloured, or brightly coloured feline within the dark forest in which they reside. The cats of Shadeclan are well-muscled, and usually have large frames, while it is uncommon to be a small cat in this clan. Felines in this clan have heightened vision as to hunt within the darkness of their territory.

Territory and Camp

Territory-

The Beech Tree- Marks the end of Shadeclan’s territory. Is home to many pieces of prey.
Twolegplace- All clanmates are forbidden to enter the Twolegplace. Many Kittypets and enemies, plus dogs and Twolegs, reside here.
Fox Hollow- Where foxes, badgers, snakes, and other predators make homes here. Clanmates are required to stay away from this area as to stay safe.
Training Grounds- Where Hunter Apprentices and Fighter Apprentice's train. It is a large, sandy hollow that is perfect for training.
Mates’ Marking- A hill that overlooks the land beyond Shadeclan territory. Most mates come here and scratch an x into the Beech Tree, which is placed close to the Mates’ Marking. It is said to be very romantic here, especially in the moonlight.
Swift Stream- A fast-paced stream that is very dangerous to all cats. Everyone is to stay away from the stream as to stay safe. It resides near the Eastern border of Shadeclan.
Owl's Overlook- A tall, twisted tree that an Owl family makes a home out of. Is placed close to the Training Grounds, and is very resourceful of prey.
Death Hollow- The burial grounds. Whenever a clanmate dies, the loved ones of that cat will come here to bury them. A silent, mourning vigil is kept overnight. Death Hollow is to the West of the Training Grounds.

Camp-

Leader’s Peak- Where meetings take place. The Leader perches on a large boulder that has a hollow, cave-like hole within it. There are smaller boulders and stones beside it that are used to climb up to the top. Is at the furthest point in camp, and the first thing to be seen when walking in.
Leader's Den- The Leader’s Den is the hollowed, cave-like structure within Leader's Peak. It is a simple den, with vine-like plants covering the entrance. The den holds a maximum of seven full-grown cats, and is used as a safety zone for Queen, Kits, Elders, sickly and injured when needed.
Healers’ Den- The Healers’ Den is a rather large bramble thicket West of Leader's Peak. It is well patched, keeping wind and rain from dripping onto the cats that sleep within it. In the very back, there is a small boulder with a crack down the middle, big enough to fit a cat. This is where the herbs are stored. Beside it is a bundle of moss that is kept beside a large puddle, used for drinking. Many nests reside within the Healers’ Den, for the Healers and the cats in need.
Warriors’ Den- Being East of Leader’s Peak, the Warriors’ Den is a hollowed tree stump that has built-on brambles to fit warriors who cannot sleep within the actual stump. Hunters sleep within the middle of the den, while Fighters sleep more on the outside as to be able to be the first ones to get out if an attack is placed upon the camp.
Apprentices’ Den- The Apprentices’ Den is a smaller tree stump that is East of the Healer’s Den. It can fit up to nine apprentices. Older Apprentices that are training to be Fighters reside closer to the entrance, while younger apprentices are nearest the middle and back.
Elders’ Den- The Elder’s Den resides within a hollow, cave-like hole in the second largest boulder in the camp. It has a vine-like covering over the entrance, in which has feathers tied into its strings. The den holds a maximum of five cats, and is very sheltered from the wind. It is very easy to get to the Leader’s Den if needed.
Nursery- The Nursery is placed between Leader’s Peak and the Warriors’ Den, so it is easy to get to the Leader’s Den if needed. The scent of Queens’ milk is always drifting from within the bramble thicket, and is patched very well to keep the den warm. It holds a maximum of seven full-grown cats. The sharp thorns of the brambles are covered with mud and feathers as to keep the kits safe.
Fresh-kill Pile- The Fresh-kill Pile is usually well-stocked, residing beneath Leader’s Peak. It is a hole dug by the Warriors, and prey is put within it. During Leaf-bare, the hole is dug deeper to keep prey from freezing or becoming soggy if it snows.

Conditions

Season

» Greenleaf-
Greenleaf brings humid days and plenty of prey. Water must be drunk very frequently, or the risk of dehydration will rise rapidly. Prey is running free.
» Newleaf-
Newleaf tends to have a rather high precipitation, and melting snow, bringing the risks of floods. Prey is just beginning to arrive again.
× Leaf-fall-
Leaf-fall brings lowering temperatures and disappearing prey. Precipitation levels are rising. Uncommon to have risks.
» Leaf-bare-

Battle Techniques

Back Kick- Explosive surprise move to catch opponent from behind. Judge opponent's distance from you carefully, then lash out with your back legs, taking all weight on your front paws.
Belly Rake- A fight-stopper. Slice with unsheathed claws against the soft flesh of the opponent's belly. If you're pinned down, the belly rake quickly puts you back into control.
Front Paw Blow- Frontal attack. Bring your front paw down hard on your opponent's head. Claws sheathed.
Front Paw Strike/Forepaw Slash- Frontal attack. Slice downward with your front paw at the face or body of your opponent.
Killing Bite- A death blow to the back of the neck. Quick and silent; used when you think it is necessary.
Leap-and-hold- Ideal for a small cat facing a larger opponent. Spring onto opponent's back and grip with unsheathed claws. Now you are beyond the range of the opponent's paws and in position to inflict severe body wounds. A group of apprentices can defeat a large and dangerous warrior in this way. Watch for the drop-and-roll counter move, and try to jump free before you get squashed.
Partner Fighting- Warriors who have trained and fought together will often fall instinctively into a defensive position, each protecting each other's back while fending off an opponent on either side. Slashing, clawing, and leaping together, battle pairs can be a whirlwind of danger for attackers.
Play Dead- Effective in a tight situation, such as when you are pinned. Stop struggling and go limp. When your opponent relaxes their grip, thinking you are defeated, push yourself up explosively. This will throw off an unwary opponent and put you in attacking position.
Scruff Shake- Secure a strong teeth grip in the scruff of your opponent's neck; then shake violently until they are too rattled to fight back. Most effective against rats, who are small enough to throw. A strong throw will stun or kill them.
Tail Yank- Grab your opponent's tail and yank it with such force your opponent is thrown off balance.
Teeth Grip- Target your opponent's extremities- the legs, tail, scruff or ears- and sink in your teeth and hold. This move is similar to the leap-and-hold except your claws remain free to fight.
Upright Lock- Final, crushing move on already weakened opponent. Rear up on back legs and bring weight down on opponent. If opponent does the same, wrestle and flip them under you. This makes you vulnerable to the belly rake, so it takes great strength and speed.
Half-Turn Belly Rake- Turn onto your side, slip under the opponent's belly, rake it with your claws, then swiftly turn back onto all fours out from under your opponent.
Badger Defense- Leap over opponent, turn on your back legs and bite opponent's leg. Used only when fighting badgers.
Duck and Twist- Simple defensive move. The cat ducks then twists around, rolling over onto their back, and then springs to their paws.
Jump and Pin- Complicated move. Leap backwards, and bounce off of a solid object. With precise accuracy, land on the enemy.
