Blossomclaw sniffed along the border, refteshing the marker every few mousetails. For a while nothing stuck out, till she smelt something competely rotten. Only problem was, it was a familiar smell. Glancing back for a moment to se if anyone else had noticed it, as no ons has, she decided to track it down. With her nose wrinkled and jaw shut tight, the orange molly found the fern the source was hiding in. Peeking in, she gave off a gasp and turned quickly. "Adderfrost! Come quick!"

Adderfrost perked his ears as Blossomclaw called his name. He bounded over, nodding to her. "What is it?" The small siamese tom asked. Before the words were even half-way from being said, he scrunched his nose up. "Ugh! What's that smell? It smells like carrion!"

Of course, that wasn’t exciting enough for Beetlepaw. Nope- she wouldn’t be satisfied until she dug all four paws into Thunderclan soil. By the time her mentor had opened his eyes, the little apprentice was making a break for it. Rosenose was either naive or just plain dumb to expect her to play along with his silly little kit game. She was an apprentice now! It was time to take risks! And kicking it up on Thunderclan turf was a good way to start. When she was confident she was far enough in, she skidded to a halt and spun around on her toes to face him again, panting hard as her heart slammed against her chest. The red-hot adrenaline coursing through her veins made her feel untouchable. She didn’t care what the consequences might be. Lionstar could go eat a toad. Rosenose too!

Beetlepaw sneered and stuck out her tongue at Rosenose. “Gonna go cry to Lionstar? I bet you’re too big of a scaredy mouse to punish me yourself!” She taunted him, kicking dirt in his direction. “I ain’t coming back until you make me! Maybe I’ll go live with the loners! Yeah! They’ll probably treat me better than any of you losers.” She was joking, of course. But a part of her wondered if that might have actually been true. It wasn’t like she had anyone who cared about her in Riverclan.. Her mother, maybe. But even then, she had always been overshadowed by her siblings. Literally. “I wouldn’t have to follow any stupid rules, either. That doesn’t sound half bad!” She glanced over her shoulder, making sure there wasn’t some grumpy Thunderclanner sneaking up on her from behind. “Why don’t you just tell them a.. bird got me or something. No, no! Make it a fox! Make it dramatic, I don’t want to remembered as the idiot who got carried off by a stupid featherbrain. It’s not like anyone will miss me much. And you wouldn’t have to mentor me anymore.”

Rosenose might as well as flown off into space with how high he leapt into the air, fur standing on edge as he spotted the dark-furred apprentice bounding into ThunderClan territory.

"BEETLEPAW!" He yowled with anger, eyes wide with disbelief as he pushed through the scent markers, barreling his way towards her. What an absolutely crazy cat! He had tried giving her the benefit of the doubt - a little freedom went a long way, but was she trying to get herself killed?! What if some ThunderClan meathead was patrolling the border?! Rosenose didn't want to break any of his claws trying to save her behind... but yet... he still crossed into ThunderClan territory. The adrenaline was still coursing through his veins. His features were unreadable despite the frustation that blazed in his eyes. Stuck-up or not, he wasn't about to let Beetlepaw die! Lionstar would give him a much harder time than if they simply crossed the border! What in StarClan's name was she talking about anyway?! Letting her run off to be a stinky rogue? Get snatched up by a bird? No, a fox?

"You stupid mouse-brain!" He hissed as he quickly closed the distance between them, his jaws parted in a stressed pant as he went in to try and grab Beetlepaw by the scruff. If it had worked, the warrior would have started to drag her towards the border with no mercy... and if it hadn't... well, Rosenose was ready for a chase.

"Take a look for yourself!" she replied, stepping back a bit to think clearly. The smell was overpowering her thought while right next to it. Once a nice distance away, this also opened up the chance to smell other things. Specifically, a suddenly strong smell of Riverclan. At first Blossomclaw thought she had accidentally taken a step over the border, but upon examination, itnseemed to be the opposite way around. The orange molly glanced around quickly, calling out for her patrol members before pointing a sharp tail towards two Riverclan cats on the wrong side of the border. "Seems we have bigger problems than a rabbit right now!"

Beetlepaw let out a frightened squeal as Rosenose barreled toward her, looking pretty unhappy. She darted in the other direction in an attempt to escape, but her undeveloped legs were no match for a warrior’s long strides and he caught up to her before she could even make it another foxlength. The moment his teeth chomped down onto her fleshy scruff she belted out an ear-splitting caterwaul. It didn’t hurt. She was just being dramatic. “Let go!” Beetlepaw howled, throwing pathetic kicks at Rosenose’s snout and squirming like a beached minnow. She hated being carried like a kit! It was so embarrassing! The apprentice was so busy trying to wriggle out of her mentors grasp, she didn’t even notice the Thunderclan patrol that had spotted them from afar. An unfamiliar voice interrupted her struggle and she strained her eyes to look for it’s owner. Uh oh..

Pinepaw's heart started to beat faster when she heard the orange warrior call out to Adderfrost. They had smelled something! Pinepaw bounded over on her long legs, sniffing the air. She caught it too! The smell was so strong, like what she had been tasting on the air but now so much closer. She looked up from her sniffing to see an apprentice and warrior. However they were now ones that she recognized. Her eyes went wide and her mouth dropped open. It was happening! They were going to have something interesting happen on her very first patrol! Her breath seemed to want to drop as a sudden shot of adrenaline coursed through her and slowed down time.

Being not entirely sure what to do, Pinepaw leapt toward the two days and stopped a good few foxlengths away and arched her back defensively. Her golden eyes were a glare as she stared at the strangers and let off an angry hiss. She didn't know what to say, her mind was too much of a flurry of activity. It was probably better for the warriors to make the decision kn this situation anyways. The Riverclan warrior and apprentice would likely be running home with their tails between their legs anyways when they saw how outnumbered they were. Pathetic, trying to sneak in with just the two of them.She thought as she watched them carefully.

She glanced at the enemy clan cats for a moment before hissing for Pinepaw to back down. She wasn't sure what they were doing, but Blossomclaw was not going to get into a border tussle on her first patrol as leader. This apprentice obviously didn't know what they were doing. "Wait just a moment, let's see what made them out of their minds to cross over so we can report back to Flintstar," she told them, keeping her tail at the ready incase the two Riverclanners attacked. Even if she was trying to prevent a fight, that wasn't quite out the question.

As soon as he had managed to grasp Beetlepaw in his jaws, he was half-carrying half-dragging her back towards the border. Or at least where he thought the border was. Gah! Why was she so damn heavy?! Still, he was relentless, a growl grumbling deep in his chest as mumbled quiet obscenities through Beetlepaw's fur.

"Whash your problem, kish? Why'ou running ofsh like a shquirrel-brain?!" Her squirming was getting annoying, more so as she managed to land a solid 'WHAP' across his nose. He would have dropped her right then and there if he hadn't heard the foreign voice of... StarClan please.. not a ThunderClan patrol..? Rosenose adverted his gaze from his apprentice, sheepishly glancing to where it had come from.

"Uhm'Shello?" Was he just going to stand there like a deer in the headlights with Beetlepaw's fur stuffed in his maw? Yes.

Adderfrost stayed low. He heard the tom call out and he watched him, waiting for Blossomclaw's signal. He didn't want to start a skirmish either. But if they had to, he was ready.

With a frown, she glanced up and down the invaders with a sigh. Why don't cats just follow the rules these days? It would make life so much better. At least to her it would. Like, wasn't there better things to do than mess with other clans daily? She sure could find them, so why couldn't they? Sighing once more, she shook her head at the riverclanners, "I don't wanna fight, I'm extremly too tored for that, so please give me a good reason to why you could possibly be over here?" she meowed, wondering silently to herself when this patrol would end. Her moss in the warriors den seemed so comfy right now.

Shaking the thought out her head, she silently observed the situation. Only a warrior and a apprentice. Were they just out training? Possibly, but who knows. Couldn't cause much damage thats all she knew.

Pinepaw frowned at the warrior who told her to back down, but she did as she was told. Her tail lashed behind her with frustration. At least Adderfrost seemed to be taking this as a possible threat
There were invaders in their territory. She glared at Blossomclaw. That warrior was already being scrapped down as one of her lesser favorite cats in the clan. Then when she admitted to being tired she did let a little grumbling growl slip between her clenched teeth. She returned her eyes to the two Riverclan cats and kept her mouth shut, much against her will. Someday she would have the chance to handle things her way. Though Pinepaw could confidently say she would never let such weakness show to another clan.

What? Those were Thunderclan cats? They were just a bunch of wimps.. Beetlepaw’s sigh was half relieved and half disappointed. If they were gonna get caught she’d hoped it’d at least be exciting. But it seemed the stars weren’t ever in her favor. They seemed mildly annoyed at best, even confused. Definitely not the big, tough, snarling enemies she’d thought they be. Why couldn’t something go her way at least once? “I just wanted to know what that awful smell was! Now I know it’s just you..” She mocked them from Rosenose’s mouth, sticking her tongue and spitting in their direction. “You smell like skunk butts!” What were they gonna do? Attack an apprentice for making fun of them? She unfurled a smug grin. “Go eat a frog, stinky!”
