She knew how it felt to lose a life, so be seated before those who had granted your power and feel useless, defeated. Though she also felt pride in her skills, a swell of pride that she was defending her clan as she was supposed to do. Her white chest was proudly stuck out, though it was no longer white and more crimson, pink and brown from battle. Her ebony striped sides rose and fell heavily as she stared at the body, trying to wrap her head around it. She'd never killed another cat before, it was something that both shocked her and made her feel satisfied. She wanted to shrink away from the feeling, though she heard her voice called and her golden eyes looked up at who called. For a moment they still held the earlier emotions, the confusion and proud that was laced with fear. Then recognition set in and she snarled.

"What do you want." She hissed eyes already looking past the shecat and trying to see if any help for the fallen Skyclan leader was nearby. He would need a moments rest when he came to, as his body would still be weak and disoriented and that's when she planned to strike again. Her tail was fanned out behind her with the excitement of battle. "Go fight!" She ordered the tan warrior. She didn't hold as much fondness or familiarity to her as she once did. As apprentices they were inseparable, but jealousy, lies and power had torn them apart as they grew.
Scorchflake looked towards the SkyClan leader once more, narrowing her eyes and then returning them to Blazingnight. "I've been fighting." She commented, glancing back at the battling forms, listening to the screeching and movement of bodies for a moment before her attention went back to Blazingnight. "I've been fighting, and you've lost two of your own warriors." A small moment of worry flickered, worry that Blazingnight would be upset. But then she didn't care. Why should she care, what the she-cat thinks? "I've been fighting, and one of those warriors won't be returning!" She spat out these words, hate for the leader running thick. She didn't feel sorrow for the death of the warrior she killed. At the time she felt terrible, but she was quickly distracted by another, and she forgot all about the grief in the kill. It was worrisome, the fact she didn't seem to care in the slightest.
Kneading the ground with her claws, she shot daggers at her best friend. The she-cat filled with abuse. "I'm still fighting." Those three words were spoken softer, but with a new intensity of savage anger. No one would see an obedient, fearful apprentice if they gazed at her. Some might be afraid as she bristled, amplifying her size, glared, and shredded the dirt below. It was amazing she hadn't attacked. But no, Scorchflake was smarter than that. She wouldn't dare lunge first. Blazingnight had more injuries, was probably more worn from her fight. The warrior had more time to recover. Calculating eyes darted to view the ShadowClan leader, taking in any hint of emotion, hidden injury... Regret? No, Scorchflake wasn't searching for any of that. She was looking for more reason to sink her claws into her best friend. Take a life from her.
What have you done to me?! You've corrupted me, Blazingnight!

The feeling of her skin being torn by his sharp talons made her numb. She quickly gave up on her attack and scampered backwards. The white patches on her chest and left shoulder were stained crimson. She panted as she stared at the warrior before her. Her emerald eyes were still hard and determined, but underneath the look she was scared. Letting him strike first wouldn't help her in the long run, she had to strike herself. She swallowed hard taking a heartbeat to make a decision on an attack. Then the mottled molly sprung into action, adrenaline quickly overrode the pain as she sprung with claws out, trying to latch herself onto his shoulder. She just wanted to get some attack made, though the one she'd chosen had left her right side exposed to his left paw attacks and bites. As she sailed she regretted her attack choice, though there was nothing that could be done for her now.
Breathing heavily, the wound on the tom's side had started to bleed more noticeably now, and he was heavily leaning on his front paws as he stood, having kicked her off with as much force as he'd been able to muster. Really, the idea of pain had never hit him this badly before, and it was nothing like the sensation of getting pricked by a thorn or having somebody else step on your tail. Adrenaline raced through his body as his eyes began to narrow, trying his hardest to pinpoint any weaknesses that the molly flaunted. He was never somebody to try and start a fight, but giving up was pointless when you were the one who'd been attacked in the first place. His mindset of peace would have to wait for now, because his 'fight or flight' instincts were telling him to start with the former. "Can't you see she's a liar, that she's not good for your clan?" Russetswirl snarled, his tail lashing as he talked in the few seconds which weren't filled with claws, and with deciphering the code of your enemy's movesets. He would've said something else- but then she attacked, and he was at a loss for words as he attempted to dodge the attack, simply by... well, falling. Rolling onto the ground, he'd saved himself from Marbledface's lunge, but at the cost of hitting his back on the ground, letting out a grunt of surprise as pain seemed to spiral towards his spine as well, letting the tom get up slightly slower than the last times he brought himself back from an attack. Hissing, he couldn't take this fight anymore- and he didn't have a choice but to attack head-on, not being able to bear the feeling of failing his ancestors. He leaped for the warrior's shoulder, claws outstretched- he needed to end this as fast as possible, to make sure she surrendered.

Blazingight flinched when she heard the news, but it was her eyes that darkened with fury when she understood Scorchflake. It was the tan warrior who'd done it, turned against her clan and destroyed two of her fellow clanmates. She felt sickened by the cat she stared at. A cat that killed a clanmate was worthless to her. She could feel the white heat of fury building in her chest, though she knew she ought to hang back. She wanted to make sure her clanmates were okay, wanted to ignore Scorch and make sure the leader tasted his end. Though something about the disobedient look the the molly's eyes got her. The leader despised nothing more than traitors and disobedience. She was confident she could beat the other she cat, no doubt rang in her mind. Sure she was weakened by battle already, but not enough to be bothered by Scorch. Plus Ash had an advantage that the other did not, six lives to battle on. Confidence burst through her and she smirked at the molly darkly. Scorchflake deserved death, she'd killed a clanmate, betrayed her own clan. She was the worthless rat that Skyclan should kill. Anger overwhelmed her and she burst forward. Adrenaline and fury making her blind to her own pain and weaknesses. She made a rush for the tan warrior, as she neared, about a tail-length away, the leader crouched as if she were going to slide into her opponent's paws. At the last minute possible, however, the dark tabby pushed off the ground, aiming to dig her claws into the other's back.

There were no words from her friend, not a single one, and that's when Scorchflake had a thought that perhaps anger would overcome the leader so much she'd shred the warrior apart. But then she watched the way she began to move, and she realized Blazingnight wasn't thinking. She only wanted to kill the cat she thought was so obedient. Taking a deep breath, she waited, and then the other was lunging forward. At first Scorch was going to fall for her trick of aiming low, but then she took a chance and dodged to the side, reaching her claws out in hopes to slash them across the she-cat's side. As her claws extended, she felt a moment of hesitation, though she didn't retract her claws. In fact, they only extended further. The thoughts and instincts of wanting to protect and follow Blazingnight fueled Scorchflake's own anger, and that made her more determined to think, observe, and defeat. Never would Blazingnight manipulate her again. Never would she treat her poorly. Never would Scorchflake follow her orders.

Marbledface stared in shock as he slipped beneath her grasp. She hadn't expected that, in training her mentor had never backed down from her attacks and had taught her to do the same. That slipping was a cowardly move, but in this moment it made every bit of sense. The surprise threw her off balance and she stumbled onto the ground. She'd been leaning right so it took the brute of her fall, and since that was her weak side stability didn't come easily. Before she could regain her balance and spin around she felt the sharp, piercing claws of her opponent. Without a moment to think later, his body pinned hers roughly to the ground. She been off balance and her body crumpled onto her right and weaker side. As she was crushed beneath his weight she yowled in pain. It felt as though her whole body had been set aflame from the shoulder out. Her good limbs struggled beneath his, thrashing and trying to push herself away. Her sounds were no longer fierce, but high pitched mewls of defeat. "Stop!" She screamed, she couldn't fight anymore all she could do was count on his surrender to save her life. It was a pathetic thing to do, she knew, but she didn't want to die. Plus she wasn't so sure of where her side truly laid, she agreed with Blazingnight on certain aspects, but with these intruders and the way of Starclan on the other. She'd been raised in the darkness and had never known the power and strength of Starclan. She writhed in pain beneath the warrior. The molly felt as though she were grasping at nothing, but a last hope made her pray to Starclan that if she made it out of this without a dislocation or fracture she would believe in their good.

Being crouched when the other dodged the attack helped her a little. As she tried to stop her forward motion and turn, Scorchflake slowed her dodge just enough to swipe a paw out. It was what the leader needed to spring her next attack, though it would result in letting the tan warrior hook claws into her side. The stinging sensation told her it was the time, and she winced as they hooked through old wounds and created new ones. Though the claws didn't go too deep, so it didn't cause too much bleeding. Her already matted fur helped to clog the bleeding as well. Blazingnight used her back legs and front left to swing herself around swiftly, right arm extending and locking into the upper front leg of Scorch's that was lodged in her own pelt. Swinging her body around she pulled herself free from the other's grasp, then she pulled the arm closer. Hoping that the motion would through Scorch off balance if she was ill prepared. The charcoal tabby's other arm swung around to swat at Scorchflake's head. Blistering anger told her to extend her claws and knock some sense into the cat, though she feared it was far too late to teach Scorchflake on morale and honor. The tan warrior had already proven herself the enemy and deserved punishment, and there would be no mercy to Blazingnight's fury.

He hated wasting blood, especially one of his own Clan. If only he could get his point across, then maybe he wouldn't have to fight the apprentice, and stop him before he did something stupid that he would regret later on.

@Gusty

(Sorry I reply so late; I live in England)
With each cat’s remark, Mintpaw grew weaker and weaker in his defense, and he trembled a little bit as Bumbleleap pushed him down a notch, onto the sticky, blood-filled grass. “You don’t want to hurt me?” he echoed the other warrior, while flattening his ears. “I don’t understand! Blazingnight… and the black star? Wha-what’s all this about?” The apprentice questioned, scrunching up his face in slight confusion, as he had never heard of those viewpoints and stories before.

In all honesty, Mintpaw was so absorbed in his own business of training and hunting that he’d never really paid any attention to current events. He really didn’t mind Blazingnight taking over ShadowClan and always assumed it was for the better. But others were telling him otherwise…

He shivered involuntarily, wondering if the things he knew were all lies, or whether these cats were feeding him lies themselves. All Mintpaw knew was that he was desperately confused and overwhelmed; he wanted to find his family and friends for the sake of security; he was nowhere near the bouncy and outgoing tom that he usually was.

"I am proud to follow Blazingnight, and anyone who opposes her are fools!" She spat at the Skyclan Cat, anger boiling inside, like a burning flame. "And, I've never heard of your clan, so why should I listen to you?" The ginger tabby gave her all, insults, all of that, all the while thinking on how to deal with this warrior. She knew this would take patience, and that thought irritated her greatly. Raising a paw, the molly aimed for his face, Maybe this will teach him to not mess with me...... She thought with a silent smirk, eyes glittering with concentration. Applepaw hoped it would hit, and she hoped really hard.
Cloudspots let out a his sister of pain and recoiled backwards, blood dropped from his cheek as he shook his head and glared at the young she cat "You may not have heard of us, you may not believe that same things I believe in, but I will not allow you to insult my warrior ancestors" he growled, his sky blue orbs danced with hatred as he lashed his tail, readying himself for his next attack.
Cloudspots lunged forward, his teeth bared and his claws unsheathed 'she needs to learn her place.' he declared to himself as he slashed at the young she cats shoulder, clawing her with all the force he could muster. The dappled warrior then jumped to the left and leaped at the she cat, landing square on her back 'she shouldn't be able to hold my weight, once she's down I'll nip the back of her neck.' he thought to himself as he leaned forward to bite the back of the apprentices neck.

He'd attacked. Really, Russetswirl was never a cat to fight without good reason- and this one was defending himself. He'd grown a lot braver over these last few moons, but he never realized what that could do to others, and as his opponent writhed in pain, he stepped back, eyes widened. I... I did that to somebody. He was so worried about losing his own life that he didn't pay any regards to that of another, and she'd... she'd surrendered now. HIs ears folded in a rush of shame- he'd hurt somebody. "...I'm sorry." He exclaimed, reaching out his muzzle in an offer to help the warrior up. "Starclan... they only want to help us out, y'know? Everybody you've lost is up there watching you." He mumbled awkwardly, trying his best to apologize without looking mouse-brained. He talked quietly, but knew that this battle was over- and that there wasn't much else he could do except look up into the daylight sky, hoping that his ancestors were watching over them right now, praying for their safety in this battle. Looking around, he didn't see anyone he recognized- only Skyclan and Shadowclan cats, with very few cats from his own liberated clan here to help. "Blazingnight's a liar and a cheat, and I'm from Riverclan- we've been liberated from Bucknight's rule, and now us and Skyclan are here to help you." His gaze was filled with sympathy for the injured cat, though he also had a bruised back, leg, and a scraped-up flank- her injuries seemed to be worse, possibly from something which happened to her before the battle. "My name's Russetswirl." I hope it becomes a name to remember, for all of this clan- maybe even the entire forest, for the good things I have yet to do.

Marbledface hissed at him as he tried to talk to her, as if they were freinds, on the same side of this battle. Her dark green hues were confused and glossy with pain. She squirmed back away from him, rolling to her left so that she could sit up a little. Her right side still burned angrily, she knew she probably shouldn't have gone into battle so soon after her last flare up but she wasn't able to resist. She wanted to prove herself the best warrior when she knew deep down that she really ever would be. She was a pathetic example for a warrior, injured and unable to help defend her clan. Her eyes squeezed shut in frustration as she listened to his words. She didn't know what to think of them, she was loyal to her clan to her leader, she couldn't just suddenly switch to their purpose. Starclan or not she didn't want to be a traitor. She bared her teeth at him again and tried to make her eyes seem fierce despite her pathetic state. "Just stay away from me!" She yowled, she wasn't on his side. Not a part of their 'cause. They had come and destroyed her clan, it was a mess of paws and blood. All she could hear around her were screams of injured cats and the scent of death and pain stung in her nostrils. Her whole body shivered with panic at the scene. Battle wasn't the glory she'd imagined it to be, it was messy and ruthless. It made cats do things they would never do in the right mind. It came and destroyed, both sides, the winner never even won in the end. All that remained after a battle was death and sadness, injury and confusion. She just wanted it to be done, she'd had enough. @Suspiciousmindz (halp el marbled back to den?)
