He turned his head back as the cream kit, Reed, turned back to him. Even though he wanted to help these kits, they seemed so independent and that they could care for themselves. So the only way to help them was to point them in the right direction. Only, The last time he had visited the marsh was a season ago, he was content when he found a closer water pool. He racked his brain as his expression turned lost. It was by the tree that the was struck by lightning. There was always a cluster of rocks on one side of the tree, and the then marsh was in the direction of where the rocks "pointed." And the lightning tree was...

"Go east." he directed, his head craning to see the sun. If it was rising, they'd go towards it, but if it was sinking they'd go away from it. "There is going to be a dead, black tree in that direction. I think there's an old rabbit trail going towards it. But anyways, there's going to be rocks on one side of the lightning tree..." in the dirt, he dragged a shape that looked vaguely like a dead tree, " When you find it, go in the direction the rocks are. So you walk away from the rocks. It should be close to there."

He nodded and recalled the previous times he had traveled there. Follow the faint rabbit trail there, look at the tree, circle the trunk to find the small rocks, the walk with your back to the rocks. He remembered coming upon the wide expanse of swamp, as well as prey, other cats, and animals, there was clean water. A perfect base to relax and let go for a period of time. Fennec directed his gaze back to the kits. They seemed like they needed a haven to wind down after the drama they were going through.
The pair listened to Fennec's directions. Again, they completely missed -- or perhaps ignored -- the hints of a deeper emotion the older cat barely showed. Reed was attentive and listened closely, while Flame mostly just absorbed the information without thinking about it. The red kit's mind was elsewhere...

He bobbed his head when Fennec finished speaking. "Hm... I'll remember the first part. You remember the directions after the tree," Flame decided, addressing his one littermate. "That way we won't forget what we were doing halfway."

"Lightning... tree...? Does it make storms??" Reed asked her brother as her pupils constricted with fear. She had two unexplained fears in this world and storms were one of them. Though the thought frightened her, Flame was able to utilize his quick thinking to calm her.

"I think by lightning tree, Fennec means lightning has hit it... judging by the mark he made," Flame purred soothingly. It took a moment for the cream kit to hear what Flame had said over her racing heartbeat, but then his words sunk in. Accepting the explanation, Reed took a slow breath and relaxed. She questioned for half a second who Fennec was, but then she recalled that might have been the light-furred stranger's name. For possibly the final time, she shifted her gaze from her brother and returned it to Fennec.

"We do appreciate this," she mewed and dipped her head in a small, polite bow. "Now we'll be on our way." She turned in the direction she knew by heart was east and began walking without another word to the tom. "Perhaps we'll see you around. Goodbye," Flame called as he fell into line protecting his sister from rear sneak-attacks, mirroring her footsteps. Now the kits had a place to go, and they wouldn't be wasting time getting there.

Fennec watched them speak and exchange words. Brother comforting sister, and the both for them adventuring by themselves. They definitely reminded him of his siblings, the way they protected each other was an echo of how Fennec and Holly and Swift all protected eachother. As they turned away, His gaze followed them, watching them go off east. "Goodbye." He Mewed back, hoping they would get there safely.

Her bengal pelt blended perfectly on the ground - though if it had been leaf-bare, she would have stood out quite well. Leopardpaw had only been to the borders once before and she wasn't sure whether this was the smartest idea or not - right now she was beginning to doubt it. Though, any excuse to make mischief... right?

Besides, nothing could possibly go wrong. Not that she could think of. The tip of her tail twitched with excitement, bright hues watching the border and a half-smile, half-smirk placed firmly on her maw. Yes... right now, Leopardpaw was excited. And then she stood up, approaching the border semi-cautiously and glancing both ways before she stopped at the very edge. Not even a whisker was across.

A bigger grin spread across her maw and her eyes sparked again as she turned to look at her younger friend. "I dare you to put your paw across," Leopardpaw mewed in the lowest voice to make sure that no one but Flintkit would hear her. Her tail twitched again and excitement was obvious in every part of her body. She was thrilled to be here right now. Though, the nagging suspicion that something could happen was still there. Though, it was overwhelmed by her sense of adventure. This was going to be fun! It was going to be great. And as far as she knew, they were perfectly safe.

For what could happen to two young cats?
@Hexict
Light grey fur seemed to be an almost silver color in the light as the tom followed his friend and partner in crime towards the border. He winced back from the openness in front of him. Although he was usually out and about, always sneaking out of camp just for the reason that it was against the rules and that the camp was boring after a few days being cooped up in it - but he had never explored this far, and it was his first glimpse of Windclan. "Where's all their trees? Don't they think it's too bright?" The darkness of the pines had become his home ever since he joined Shadowclan, so seeing how bright the Windclan territory was made him feel a bit out of his element even if he hadn't even crossed the border.

"Look at my pelt!" He called over, blue orbs widened at the sight of his normally grey fur turning almost silver. "It's way to bright near the border!" He called towards her, shifting his paws. He wasn't worried about being seen, but he though that Windclan looked so... boring. There were no trees, hardly any bushes. There seemed to be little to do on their territory. "I mean, can they even have fun over there? What can they do on that territory? There's no where to play or cause trouble!" He puffed out his pelt as he narrowed his orbs across the border towards the moor. "Doesn't Windclan just look so boring?" The tom-kit shook out his pelt again. Turning his blue orbs, his face turned to a smile as he watched Leopardpaw.

It wasn't like he didn't enjoy their little adventure, it was just at the moment he couldn't understand Windclan.

"We're lucky we live in Shadowclan, huh?" Tail curling up as he said this, the tom gave a bit of a smug look. He was aware that he hadn't been born into the clans, in fact he had only been living within Shadowclan for a few moons. But he still cared for his clan, even if he had been born a loner. At first he was just glad to be with the sister that he adored, but he quickly grew to like some of his clans-mates - especially his partner in crime, Leopardpaw. A mischievous smile crossed his maw as she stated that she hoped they saw some action. "Hopefully!" Although there currently didn't seem to be any conflict between the two clans. But of course, that didn't mean that they were fully at peace since all the clans were rivals anyway. So maybe they would get some entertainment?

Cautiously observing his friend, Flintkit was surprised when she went right up to the border, stopping at the very edge. He honestly thought that she was going to step over the border and into the other clan's territory. He wasn't sure why, but when she stopped he let out a relieved sigh as if afraid that she was going to step across. He wasn't sure why he had been concerned, knowing that Leopardpaw could probably take care of herself if anything were to happen - the tom didn't see her as a kit or young apprentice, he already pictured the two of them as practically warriors - but still... he wasn't sure if he wanted her to be in enemy territory, even if she could take care of herself. Either way, he didn't want her to see his surprising relief. The tom wanted to look tough and he didn't think that a tough cat would think like that.

Blinking in surprise - though he admitted to himself that he should have expected this - the tom turned to look at Leopardpaw's feet, noting how close she was to the border again. The tom glanced away for a heartbeat but he quickly bounded up to her, standing by her side and stopping right in front of the border as well. His tail swished as he eyed Windclan's territory for what seemed like awhile but in actuality it hadn't been that long. The multi-grey tom gave a small leap over the border and waited a few heartbeats before scrambling across the border and stood behind Leopardpaw. The tom-kit stuck his tongue out at her in a playful manner. "See!" He purred. Flintkit was rarely on edge like this, but he found himself strangely uncertain around the border - a place that he had never been before. He was sure that when he became an apprentice then he would get use to the border. "Can you cross the border?" The kit teased, flicking his tail towards the line between the two territories that was right in front of Leopardpaw.

The kit teased, flicking his tail towards the line between the two territories that was right in front of Leopardpaw.
Glancing back at Flintkit, the other cat's eyes sparked with interest. Now that was funny - at least, in her opinion it was. Although seeing anything besides the normal grey on Flintkit was strange. He was right, it was really bright out here...though that didn't bother her at all. Her pelt didn't have as dramatic of a change as Flintkit's - it did, however, seem to become a little more golden in color rather then the dull bronzish that it seemed to be in the shadows of their own Clan. "I'd say that color compliments you the best," She laughed, her light hues still sparking with amusement as she glanced down at her young friend. His question sparked her interest once more - something that didn't seem to be too hard to do with Leopardpaw, as young apprentices were often interested in the world around them. She was just a little more involved in it, that was all.

More involved and she acted a little differently as far as her involvement went. "They run for fun - and to practice getting away from their enemies so they don't have to fight," Leopardpaw explained. In her opinion, WindClanners were a bunch of cowards. The best they had ever done had been when Singenight was leader - although, despite her fun-loving, always up to mischief personality, Leopardpaw still held her belief in StarClan. She'd been raised that way, after all.

But, she nodded when he mentioned WindClan looking 'boring.' It was the most barren looking place she had seen. No trees... well, she thought she could see some on the horizon - or at least scattered - but maybe she was just envisioning them in her mind, having lived in ShadowClan for so long. Glancing back at their own side of the border, Leopardpaw could see nothing but trees. Why wouldn't WindClan want to live in a place like that? Because it made it harder to run? And, why would they want to run away in the first place? Things that didn't make sense to Leopardpaw definitely included WindClanners. "Yeah. Because ShadowClan's the best." A look of pride settled over the Bengal's features and she seemed to hold herself a little higher. There was nothing wrong with showing such a strong spirit and appreciation for your Clan, although others might have something else to say about that. Leopardpaw had never liked the cats who wished they lived somewhere else, or weren't as appreciative for the beautiful Clan that they currently resided in.

Why would you want to move somewhere else? Discontentment was one thing that this young cat had almost never felt. Not with herself or her Clan, anyways. Perhaps a few of her clanmates, but hey - she was bound to make some enemies in her lifetime. Might as well be now.

She barely had time to react as Flintkit jumped across the border, then scrambled back. Of course her first thought was how cool that had been, then realizing he could get in big trouble, then finally amused at how fast he had moved back. "Hmph. I can cross the border - and stay over there longer then you did, you little coward," She laughed, nudging him playfully. But, her heart was racing. Would she really risk staying over on the WindClan side of the border? Probably not the best idea... and yet Leopardpaw really, really wanted to step over. Looking around, she cautiously stepped over - her paws making the smallest indents as she stood there for a moment. With her back to ShadowClan territory, it was like she could almost feel disapproving eyes boring into her skull, staring at her, making her more and more uncomfortable.Hours seemed to pass - although it had only been a few short minutes - before she stepped back across the border and joined Flintkit on the other side. "See?" She grinned, mimicking him by sticking her tongue out at him in an equally playful gesture. Leopardpaw could still feel her heart racing, still felt nervous, still worried about what might happen to the two of them. Part of her wanted to dart back into the shadows and watch from there, her golden eyes gleaming in the dark like two bright lanterns. Another part of her wanted to step back across the border and see what might happen. She had always been one to look for adventure - yet this time might just be more adventure then she wanted.

For her? There had never been limits before. She had never been that concerned about getting in trouble. In her own Clan, that was one thing... but with another? It might be a whole different story there.

"Alright," the tabby accepted Firesparks' explanation, however her slight pause made him question if there was more to it than she was telling. He flashed a smile in response to hers, then moved off after her. He made sure to match her step for step, walking alongside the molly rather than behind her. "Honestly, I'm not in the mood for a hunt. Just wanted to get out of camp, really. Perhaps we could patrol the border, though, during a stroll." He paused for a moment, contemplating his next words before continuing. "You know, this way you can earn your meal." It was definitely a joke, however he wasn't sure if she would see it that way. He could only hope she wouldn't take offense to his teasing rather than get mad. Owlspark watched the she-cat from the corner of his eye, trying to gauge her reaction.
(Whoops sure thing xD)

Firesparks rolled her eyes and purposefully bumped into him while they walked, trying to throw him off balance, but not intending for him to fall over or hurt himself. "Ha, ha, very funny," she said, giggling a bit. Releaf flooded over the orange abbysinian when she heard him say the words she'd hoped he would say, as she didn't really want to put forth too much effort either. Not right now anyway. "So how are you? I don't see you around much," she said, trying to start a conversation as they neared the Shadowclan border. The molly didn't really like awkward silences very much, and preferred to keep the conversation rolling to just walking in silence. Especially with a tom such as Owlspark. 'What are you thinking? Stop that!' she thought to herself, attempting to show only interest in what Owlspark was to say next.

(Thank ya much xD)

Owlspark stumbled a bit as the molly bopped him, though quickly regained his step and tried to play it off as if it was nothing. Hey, she did that on purpose! He narrowed his eyes at Firesparks, as if to convey this message. "Thanks, I thought it was pretty funny myself," he remarked in a cool voice, though it was once again part of his banter. The tom breathed a soft laugh himself after her giggles, finding her laugh contagious. And adorable. His gaze quickly darted away at this thought, and he mentally scolded himself; he was sure a she-cat such as Firesparks wouldn't appreciate being called adorable. Rather, she'd probably take offense to it. "I've been doing pretty well myself. There's been talk that I'll be getting an apprentice in the near future." A rush of excitement fell over him at the thought; he wasn't sure yet what kit would be made his apprentice, or if this rumor was even true, but he sure hoped it was. "And you? How've you been doing?" He had to return the question; it was only polite.

The tom gave a moment of pause to allow the molly to answer, before tacking on coolly: "You're right, I don't see you around that often. We should change that." He strolled forwards as if he hadn't said anything out of the ordinary, but inwardly his heart was pounding. Was this flirting? He certainly was- or at least, he was pretty sure what he had said could be considered flirting. But Owlspark was not experienced in the ways of romance; sure, he had crushes in the past, but he never really acted on them. If there were any mollies who had crushes on him, he had been completely oblivious to it. So he was a bit uncertain in the given situation, but he hoped the confidence he faked would cover up this fact. He scented the air as the two walked right up to the border, scenting the Shadowclan border mingled with their own. "A patrol must've been by recently; the scent is pretty fresh," he commented as a change of topic- if he played this all off, then surely nothing could go wrong.

"Eh, same old, same old," she said simply in reply to his asking of her life. She suddenly felt heat rising through her body as he started flirting with her back. That wasn't normal; usually when toms flirt back with her they're just joking. "Maybe we should," she started, a flirtatious tone in her voice. "What did you have in mind?" Firesparks smiled at him as she said this, then cursed under her breath as they approached the scent-mingled border. "Yeah, but the border patrol should be coming around soon. It is sundown after all," she said, hinting for the two of them to keep moving. This was the first tom that flirted back with her, maybe... 'Stop it, Firesparks, he's probably spoken for!' she hissed in her mind. Though, that didn't make her stop with her flirting antics. "So, rumor has it you're seeing someone, who is it?" she asked. 'SO smooth,' she thought sarcastically, though she tried to play it off.

Firesparks smiled at him as she said this, then cursed under her breath as they approached the scent-mingled border.
(Their ship name should totally be Sparksparks xD Since replacing the suffixes with prefixes wouldn't make much of a change)

Owlspark nodded; he guessed there wasn't going on much in many cats' lives at the moment, with everyone pretty much being stuck in camp. When Firesparks appeared to be flirting back- Is she? Am I reading it all wrong?- the tom's eyes widened slightly, though he was already turned slightly away from the molly and hoped that this would cover up his reaction as he frantically looked for a smooth response. "Oh, I dunno," he started nonchalantly, still searching his mind for something to say that wouldn't end up costing him this... whatever it was going on between them. "Anythings good so long as you're there," he meowed over his shoulder, mentally praising himself. That was good, wasn't it? He flashed the molly a grin before turning back to the border. He gave another nod at the mention of a sundown patrol, and he moved to walk further down the border. He didn't want any cats around right now, not when things seemed to have taken an interesting turn with Firesparks. "What?" The tom spluttered out at the orange molly's comment. "Cats are saying that?" His eyes were wide as he thought of this; did everyone in the clan think he was wooing someone? "No, no, it's not true," he finally answered with an embarrassed cough. Of all things, was a rumor going to ruin the atmosphere right now?

(Lolz what about Owlfire?)

Firesparks busted out laughing. "I'm sorry, there's no rumor," she managed to say. "Though I can't see a tom like you without someone," she said when she finally caught her breath. "You're much too nice." 'You're off your game, Firesparks,' the orange molly thought. "I'm sorry I laughed, I just can't bring myself to lie to my friends," she admitted. She then started walking along the border, her tail twitching in anticipation. Maybe she went too far with that... She cursed in her thoughts to herself, thinking she ruined her chances with Owlspark. Why was she such a mouse-brain when it came to this? 'This is why you don't have a mate,' she thought as she walked.

(Haha yes or that)

"Oh," Owlspark breathed a sigh of relief. "No, I've never really found anyone... before." Was he being too bold with that statement? Probably, but it was done and said; he couldn't take it back now. A bittersweet feeling grew in his chest at her next words and he was stuck between being happy- She thinks we're friends!- and being disappointed- She thinks of me as a friend. Did this mean that all their flirting was really just some strange form of teasing? He flicked his tail as he walked, his thoughts much too confusing to be thinking about right now. He had a wonderful molly with him, he should be spending this time enjoying it rather than thinking about what it all meant. He could worry about all that later. "Oh no, you're fine," he meowed in response to Firesparks' apology. "Though I think my kindness is why I'm not with someone. Everyone I meet tends to think of me as a friend rather than getting any romantic feelings." And sadly, it was starting to look like this was the case once again; oh, how this was beginning to mirror all his past crushes.
